New post! This was a lot of fun to read about. I've seen many fujizuka in my life, and I think it's a wonderful way to make mountain worship more accessible.

sengen 56 chapter
I want to talk about chapter 56 because it it incredibly significant. This whole observatory story is one of the most important in the development of Senku’s character and his relationships with other people. And it would be truly illogical to reduce it all to some simple romantic infatuation. Sengen's feelings go much further than a petty romance, and here is why.
*was inspired by this post
Let's start from the beginning. Magma blindfolds Senku and brings him to all the villagers. Things are really unsightly, and Senku naturally comes to the conclusion that Gen has persuaded all the villagers to bring his head on a plate to Tsukasa. Hence it can be assumed that Senku had such thoughts before, and he admitted the possibility that Gen could raise the whole village against him. Senku is right that Gen could raise the whole village since he has no less power over the villagers than Senku himself does, but he is wrong with the fact that Gen would want to go against him. He didn’t know his motives and even though Senku chose the “as long as you are on my side, let’s just be friends” strategy, he was wary of Gen. That is, he did not trust either Gen or the villagers completely. The fake speech of Magma, who was just trying to make Senku angry and let go of his hand so as not to die together, immediately becomes real in Senku's head, and does not help the situation at all.
Tumblr media
Gen immediately calms Senku down, saying "I swear I haven’t a clue what you’re on about", because he never had any thoughts of rebelling against Senku. On the contrary, his uttermost devotion can be admired. The blindfold is removed, and instead of a bloody betrayal, a view of Saturn opens up to Senku’s eyes, followed by the view of the whole observatory. And then Senku mentally transfers to his childhood, remembering his main dream - to go to space. This is how Gen shows that he sees Senku. He sees the great scientist Senku, and the highschooler Senku, and the child admiring his father Senku. He sees his wishes, ambitions, desires, he sees what brings him happiness and fills him with inspiration, he can hear what Senku’s heart says.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gen also sees that it will be difficult for Senku to cope with emotions after such an event, so he begins to chat about everyday things so that Senku finds support amid such an emotional shock, feels more comfortable and has time to gather his thoughts.
Tumblr media
Senku clings to this opportunity and continues the conversation in his pragmatic manner. However, here is another Gen's revelation waiting for him. Gen says that he remembers the date of his release from the stone and he counted the days to find out his birthdate. He once again shows that he can see the real Senku, and thus makes it clear how much Senku means to him and to all the villagers. How much he believed in him, even before he met him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To make it a “fair deal”, Gen opens his heart to Senku in return, allowing him to see his real self. Formerly we saw Gen as a fickle opportunist, a dark horse, a vile greedy man, a traitor, a self proclaimed “the most selfish man on earth”. But right here he’s telling Senku almost straight up, that this has never been true. That he is by Senku’s side not because of pros and cons but because of true likelinesses, admiration and respect.
Tumblr media
He cracks his mask with his own hands, allowing Senku to see into his heart as well. It's like he's saying, "I trust you completely, so please trust me too." This scene means so much because after it Senku gains 10,000% confidence and trust in Gen and the villagers, he can not doubt their loyalty for a millimeter anymore. And this is incredibly important for the development of the plot.
Gen's words gave Senku so much faith in himself and in the success of the Kingdom of Science that Senku literally changed as a person overnight.
After this conversation, he is noticeably getting closer with the villagers. He even gives them all something like "high five", although physical contact has never been his thing.
Tumblr media
And communication with the Gen becomes a hundred times warmer, and Senku keeps showing and showing that now he also trusts Gen for all ten billion percent. He trusts him to work in the laboratory, and drive a car, and a tank, and he plays along with Gen’s schemes even if he doesn’t know much about it, and he even doesn’t mind when Gen starts analyzing him.
Tumblr media
So it is truly illogical to call this scene a romantic confession when it is the greatest anthem of trust and devotion. When it is a masterpiece of subtle analysis and mastery of Gen’s smooth talking. When it's an oath to stay until the very end, no matter what happens. When it is an expression of admiration and respect coming from the heart. When is the moment where they both let each other into the innermost corners of their souls.

i dont normally do this kinda thing but!!! your sengen hanahaki fic really moved me and i wanted to say smth!
if i may first compliment the writing itself; oh my gosh did you just. perfectly balance the wittiness, the emotional and reflective bits, the — everything. when i tell you i was taking screenshots and constantly sending scenes to my friends in the span of ~2 days i binged this fic…. wow. i feel often times many writers can forsake characters for the sake of writing an emotional scene, esp when it comes to those two. not to say i don’t still enjoy it, because i most certainly do, but you were able to keep those two’s character to heart whilst writing this and . oh my goodness me,,,, i was honestly absolutely delighted. the fact although gen has a huge hold on his emotions + others (for the most part, anyway) he is most certainly more rational than not and ,, ok i can go on forever. i absolutely ADORED every chapter. i felt so giddy during some scenes and absolutely distraught in some others. so good. i quite enjoyed.
but on the other hand, i wanted to thank you. one of my greatest anxieties is revolves around the lack of assurance and uhh,,, guarantee of love in the future. not sure exactly how to word it. i was struggling a lot with this lately and the way i had attempted to reassure myself was through notions such as fate and destiny and whatnot. which only served to fuel the anxiety as i felt as though i was lying. i really hope this doesn’t seem like a dump because what i’m trying to say is!!!!!! the way you wrote gen and his struggle and emotional development. reading through it all honestly helped me work through a lot of it somehow. not all of it, obviously, but i feel a lot more at ease now. it is,, i want to say rare but i don’t think a piece of like . fanfiction or anything similar has moved me in that way before. so, i wanted to thank you. because it honestly means a lot to me even if you weren’t aware of what you were doing.
alas, my brainrot for the way you wrote two of my favorite homosexuals will likely continue. however i really wanted to say HOLY SHIT that was a good fic. like holy guacamole.
This is quite honestly one of the nicest asks I've ever gotten. Thank you.
It just legitimately means so much to me that my story could help your anxieties in any way. And, actually, part of the theme for that Walking With My Eyes Open came from a conversation I was having with my own therapist about the difference between faith (a choice) and belief. That's what originally gave me the idea to start thinking about fate versus faith in the story and how love is more a choice within human means to hold/make. Not sure if this is what other people read out in the story (I'm always big on any piece of writing having multiple interpretations based on whoever is reading is enjoys taking out of it); but, for me, that's one of the reasons I was inspired to write it.
So...just yeah, I'm just happy you enjoyed it and it could help in whatever way it could. Thank you once again for letting me know.

To Wait for Love (Dr. Stone Fanfic)
Summary: Senku has said many times, that love was irrational and unnecessary. After all he needed to fully focus on his impossible goal.
But he had to have met Gen...
_______________________
This is honestly what I think would be as close to what sengen would be if it was canon. And i’ve been trying to expand on this but I’ve been drawing a blank so I’ll just post this one.
Special thanks to Ren at the DCST Discord server proofreading and improving this fic!
Ao3 | FFnet
“I love you Gen…”
Those words took Gen completely off guard. So much so that it made him drop his tea cup, spilling the tea all over the observatory’s floor.
“Senku-chan…” He managed to say, “What--What did you say?”
“Come on Gen…” Senku groaned as a blush spread all over his face, “Don’t make me say that again…”
Gen did not expect any kind of answer to his abrupt confession back when they unveiled the observatory as a birthday gift to Senku. It was something that just came out of his mouth as he explained how he came to know the exact date. They both played it cool. As it was to be expected… But, never in the mentalist’s life, Senku would give him an answer to that. And if there ever was, he was expecting a rejection. Not an actual, “I love you too” response.
“I said, I love you Gen…” Senku repeated himself, as he said it softer than before.
Now Gen’s face was just as red as Senku’s. He couldn't believe what he just heard…
"You--you do?" Gen stuttered.
"Yes…" Senku replied quietly but still loud enough for Gen to hear.
Gen's heart swelled with happiness. He couldn't believe it, but it was happening. Ishigami Senku, the man that Asagiri Gen had fallen for, had just confessed that he felt the same way.
This was really happening.
And yet...
The room was still filled with an awkward silence.
"But…" Senku began as he turned to look at the observatory window and looked at the stars. "I… I can't…”
“You can't??” Gen was confused by the response. But then a feeling of dread replaced Gen's elation “What---What do you mean?”
“There’s so much I need to do…” Senku began, “So many steps to climb up, just to revive all of humanity. Not to mention restore civilization. I…”
Gen felt like he had known Senku for the entirety of his restored life. It was Senku, after all, who had first created the formula that freed him from petrification. And whenever he was alone he would think of Senku and would see his confident, almost arrogant smile, and behind him was the dazzling light that he made from his own two hands. Senku, that stole his heart with his bold words, brash behavior, that sharp mind that moved ten billion steps ahead of everyone else. And yet… it was this same Senku that was now trembling, his words stuttering out of his mouth. Gen had never seen him unsure like this before.
“I… I don't know… how to say this…” Senku bit his lip, “Gen… I…”
In those pauses, Gen had time enough to understand why he was hesitating. Understand what made him hesitate.
“You don't want to be bogged down by these feelings.” Gen finished the sentence for him. His tone had shifted to a disappointed one, which took the scientist by surprise. “Or rather… you don’t want a relationship to slow down your progress.”
It was a brutal and harsh statement. Senku didn't know what to say to that.
“Gen…” He turned to face the mentalist, “I have to put my ten billion percent focus on this. I can’t let the villagers down. You, Taiju, Yuzuriha, my dad, those astronauts… they all have faith in me.”
Senku then paused and took a deep breath.
“But… you are wrong.” He continued as he remained focused on Gen's hurt expression “If that were the case, I would have discarded these feelings long ago. I wouldn't have confessed to you. No… I don’t want you to feel left out or unloved because of me. You deserve much more than that. I… I care about you too much to do that to you.”
Gen was rendered speechless, he looked up and stared at him back. Senku was more firm and had since ceased his trembling. He had given Gen the most earnest yet softest look he has ever seen in him. He's never seen Senku give that look to him.
“Senku…”
“Once I revive all seven billion people! Once I restore back civilization and even better!” Senku’s words became firmer “Would you wait for me?"
“Would you wait for me until then? Until I finish what I set out to do? Are you… Will you Gen?”
Gen blinked.
He blinked again.
Senku began trembling.
That’s when Gen began giggling to himself as he stood up.
“Oh Senku-chan…” Gen spoke in between giggles, “How blunt you are… You sound like a shonen jump character.”
The next thing Senku knew, Gen had wrapped his arms around his neck and had his head resting  on his shoulder. Before he could say anything, Gen hugged him tighter.
“Please… let me have this… Senku…” Gen spoke softly. “Please..?”
“Gen…” Senku could only say as he wrapped his arms around him, and took in the moment.
“Ishigami Senku…” Gen began after a brief pause, “I’ll wait for you. For as long as it takes. No matter what, I’ll be by your side. I won’t force you to do anything, not for me.”
"And besides…" he spoke again to try and diffuse the situation, "I knew you were going to say something like that. And you know what?”
“No matter what your answer was going to be. I’m dead set on being by your side. We’re going to hell together, whether you like it or not!”
"Asagiri Gen…" Senku spoke softly, "You really are a dumbass…”
“I could say the same to you…” Gen laughed, “Ishigami Senku-chan”

MOUNT FUJI:
MT. Fuji (Fujisan) is the tallest mountain in Japan and, with its classically symmetrical snow-capped cone, has long been the symbol of that country. The volcano is regarded as a sacred kami or spirit in the Shinto religion, specifically that of Princess Konohanasakuya-hime (aka Fuji-hime or Sengen), and climbing its slopes is considered an act of pilgrimage for followers of that faith. The mountain also has several important sacred shrines, caves, springs and a waterfall. As of 2013 CE Mt. Fuji is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan.  3776-meter-high mountain is in Shizuoka prefecture and you can see it on your right side when you take Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto.  And we Japanese just love this mountain from the ancient times.
Mt. Fuji from Shinkansen
Mt. Fuji of Hokusai’s Woodblock Print in The Sumida Hokusai Museum
And this mountain is religously sacred.  During Edo Era of 18th century, people in current Tokyo started to worship Mt. Fuji and they built miniature Mt. Fuji inside shrines in Tokyo.  The miniature Mt. Fuji is called Fujizuka and sometimes they were made of molten rocks of real Mt. Fuji.
Fujizuka in Shitaya Sakamoto in Tokyo is one of those Fujizuka in Edo Era which was built in 1839.  As I wrote in my yesterday’s post, every year on June 30th and July 1st, this miniature mountain becomes open to the public and you can climb the miniature Mt. Fuji.

The religious faith of Mt. Fuji was started by Kakugyo Hasegawa during the 16th century.   This religion was succeeded by several generations during Edo Era.  In 1733, Miroku Jikigyo, a person of religion, went into Mt. Fuji and started fast in order to save the public from the famine which led him to death 35 days later.
Fujizuka in Kaizo-ji Temple where I also visited is believed to have parts of bones of Miroku.

Secret Language (Dr. Stone fanfic)
Here I am poofing out of nowhere to post my other fics that I have posted on Ao3. This fic and the fic after this are actually from a twitter challenge in the Japanese sengen fandom where they would post a prompt and you will need to draw or write for an hour on their schedule and post it with their tag. So I have written this fic in an hour, so its kinda bad... I dunno. I’m posting it anyway.
#sngn_1dw is the hashtag on twitter for this. It’s really great!
The prompt for this one is Language of Flowers. And this one originally took place on May 6.
Ao3 | ffnet
Unbeknownst to the citizens of the Kingdom of Science, their leader, Ishigami Senku and his fellow General, Asagiri Gen have been sending secret messages to each other. What makes this even more secretive is that neither of them are even unaware of the other’s intent.
It all started with a red carnation that had fallen from Gen’s purple robe. At first glance it was nothing more than the usual flowers from the magician’s stash underneath his clothes. He had used a more variety as spring came by, but with careful inspection, it was clear that carnations in general were not even remotely close to the flowers Gen used in his performances.
Then much later on, it wasn’t just red carnations, it was a gladiolus , and then it was daisies , and then it was yellow tulips , there were even orchids at one time, and then he found purple lilacs.
It was clearly obvious that someone had been putting these flowers into his robes for him to find later. And whoever this mysterious admirer is, they sure know a lot about the language of flowers.
But oh who could ever even equal him in his near encyclopedic knowledge of flowers???
Especially that the last flower he had received, was a red chrysanthemum .
And with that, Gen knew exactly who they were.
Senku found it odd that he found a single daffodil laid on his desk at the lab, he was sure it was not there this morning. He picked it up and upon closer inspection it was freshly picked and it seemed its intended purpose was to be placed in his table. He really didn’t have any time to think about it, so he instead placed it in a flask filled with water in the meantime until he could find a proper vase for it.
Then the next day and the day after that, he then got a pink camellia , then dwarf sunflowers , blue irises , even a gardenia , and a forget-me-not… .
It took awhile for the scientist to figure out the rhyme or reason for these mysterious flowers showing up at his desk.
And when he did, he immediately knew the only one who could even know these flowers…
And their meanings.
After all, the last flower he found was a red tulip .
“Gen…” Senku growled as he dragged the Mentalist by his robes to bring him alone at the observatory.
“Geez, you don't have to  be so rough, Senku-chan…” Gen rubbed his neck as he fixed his clothes, “What did you bring me here for, anyway?”
“Don’t try to worm your way out of this…” Senku accused as he brought out the red tulip that was left at his lab desk, “I know you were the one leaving this behind.”
“Ah! A red tulip!” Gen complimented the flower, “Such a simplistic thing but has such a powerful meaning, did you know that this means…”
“--It refers to a declaration of love, even passion at some sense…” Senku finished the sentence.
“And you are exactly right!” Gen chipped in as if he was a game show host, “It seems our great scientist has a secret admirer hmm?”
“And I warned you not to worm your way out of this, you rat…” Senku growled as he glared at Gen.
“Awww….” Gen looked at Senku with the most innocent look he could muster, “Must you attack me like this, dear Senku-chan?”
“Is this some kind of a joke?” Senku has had enough of Gen’s mind games to him.
“You wound me, Senku-chan…” Gen responded in a pseudo hurt look, “Can’t a guy confess his feelings using the language of flowers?”
And with that blatant confession, Senku’s face quickly turned red, and immediately fell silent…
“After all…” Gen pulled from his sleeve the red chrysanthemum that was left for him in his robes. “I can’t leave the one who left me this hanging now cant i?”
“Gen…” Senku managed to mutter under his breath..
“But of course, I’m still not done yet, as I still have one last flower to give to you…”
Gen then pulled out from his sleeves a single red rose that looked like it was given such lovely and delicate care for this moment.
He then gently held Senku’s hands and laid the rose on top of it.
“Now… does this tell you my true feelings for you?”
Senku then held the rose, and quickly grasped Gen’s hand and laced their fingers together with the rose in between their palms.
“I wasn’t finished either.”
Gen looked in shock to see what the man he fell in love with had done to him.
But as he quickly raised his head in an attempt to say something back, he was met with Senku’s lips pressing against his.
The two then closed their eyes as they finished together their letters written in a secret language...
Flower Meanings
Red Carnation: Admiration Gladiolus: Infatuation, Strength and Moral Integrity Daisies: Innocence and Hope Yellow tulip: Hopeless Love, Cheerfulness, Sunshine Orchids: Love, Luxury, Beauty, Strength Purple Lilac: First Love Red Chrysanthemum: I love You
Daffodil: Unrequited Love Pink Camellia: Longing for you Dwarf Sunflowers: Adoration Blue Iris: Hope and Faith Gardenia: Secret Love Forget-me-not: True love, Remembrance, Good Memories Red Tulip: Declaration of Love, Passion

I quickly looked up all of these, I hope I did right and if I didn't please dont hesitate to tell me :3
