On the Making of Gojo's Goals: Thoughts and Assumptions
One disclaimer which I feel I need to make before getting into this: This is my reading of the events of the JJK manga, and my reading only, no more and no less. I am not claiming that my opinions are anywhere near being correct or true to the meaning intended by the author, I'm just sharing my take on the story I'm currently deeply passionate about.
And spoiler alert, of course!
Okay, but it is actually so interesting to me to be able to trace the events all the way back to how Gojo's goals and motivations begin to take shape, gradually solidify and get put into motion. So here's how I see it.
It's discussed a lot how Geto's presence in Gojo's life provided the latter with a moral compass and an empathetic outlook on things he lacked himself, giving him a sense of direction and playing a role of somewhat guiding and grounding force for him -- even if he more often than not nonchalantly rebelled against the prospect. He could always rely on Geto's judgement, so it spared him from the bother of thinking about what's righteous and what is not and instead gave him space to enjoy his youth and be careless, relishing this breath of fresh air which his friendship with Geto became. And for quite a while, I imagine, they were both content with how things were. Their warm spring of youth, you know. But when Geto left, he as well took that ideological guidance away from Satoru. From that point on, I believe, is when Gojo really takes to crafting his own ideals.
Unnecessarily lengthy discussion of how, in my view, Gojo's goals came into being below the cut!
1. The loss of the moral compass
When the events of SPVI put uncrossable distance between Satoru and Suguru, not least because of how they chose to cope with their trauma, Gojo got separated not only from his one and only closest friend, but also from somebody who, essentially, told him 'Of course, there needs to be a reason to kill people'. But at that time Gojo was driven by inertial forces, stuck in perfecting his technique and prioritised realising his potential to the fullest, because he blamed his failure on his own shortcomings as a sorcerer, as the strongest. And for the time being getting stronger, really claiming the name of the pinnacle of jujutsu for himself seemed enough. Because being the strongest would solve all the problems. Why wouldn't it? In the end, that's what his society trained him to think, preaching that might is always right. He made growing in power his goal, because he genuinely believed that is what he needed in order to prevent another failure, another Riko from happening. He seemed honestly excited and proud of his hard work while presenting his newly mastered ability to Shoko and Geto.
Look, now he's strong enough.
He's got it all covered.
Something that terrible will not happen again.
He was certain at least in this, so he moved in that direction.
Geto's defection left him without as much. I guess at least some part of why the news came as such a shock to Gojo was because it ripped that certainty away from him, made it painfully obvious that strength alone was not enough. It's cruelly ironic that, more or less by coincidence, this blow lands on him right after his cheerfully boastful announcement of the finally tamed Limitless. Because the thing is, I cannot imagine an outcome where Gojo doesn't blame himself, at least a little, for what happened to Geto. He was the one who got too far ahead, got too strong. He made a point of making himself untouchable, unreachable. (Although, in my eyes, it's not entirely true -- as Gojo was the one who actually tried to reach out to Geto. Even if he failed in this, we do see him try. On Geto's part, there was never such an effort. He didn't reach back, nor did he reach out himself. But it's a topic for a different discussion, I guess.) And, in the end, perhaps he trusted Geto and his ability to stay true to his ideals a bit too much.
2. Being the strongest alone is not an option
After Geto's spiral at least one thing was made clear: everything's that's broken in the system won't be fixed merely through sheer power. Yes, Gojo reached his destination, became the strongest, but him being strong didn't stop Geto from breaking and leaving, did not do anything to help him. If anything, it only made things worse, creating a gap between the two which deepened Geto's self-isolation (and perhaps enabled it in the first place).
When Geto leaves and Gojo's belief that simply being the strongest is going to fix everything falls short, Gojo is forced to reconsider his ideas and figure out a different solution. And that's what he comes up with: if being the strongest alone is not enough, then everyone should be the strongest. His thinking still relies heavily on the concept that power is everything in jujutsu society, but from what happened with Geto (who, in Gojo's eyes, failed to catch up with him in strength and therefore broke under the weight of his responsibilities and went down the wrong path) he derived that, basically, strength comes in numbers. The system isn't going to provide its sorcerers with necessary support, so they themselves should be able to shoulder the load without faltering. Therefore, they need to be strong like him.
And secondly, there's that:
He can only save those who are already prepared to be saved. As I see it, with this phrase Gojo comes to a conclusion that there's only so much he can do. Even if his cursed technique is called the Limitless, he can't do the impossible. He can't be his society's Atlas holding up the weight of the world (though he tries to), can't blame himself for every loss and tragedy, so he's consciously narrowing the list of things he holds himself responsible for. Now, allow me to put a pin in this thought, I will get back to it shortly.
3. No support in the system
The next stepping stone in Gojo's journey to forming his final goals is taking Megumi (and Tsumiki) under his care. It's after this decision of his, I believe, he becomes determined to become a teacher and educate the youth. And it also somewhat ties to the 'saving only those who are prepared to be saved' bit.
For me to elaborate on this, let's take a few steps back. Throughout both seasons, but the second one especially, the story goes to great lengths to show how alone young sorcerers in fact are in their duties. Students are basically left to their own devices from the very moment they enroll into Jujutsu High, and the stakes are as high as they get, with the obligation to carry out missions more often than not putting them into life-and-death situations. And Geto and Gojo being considered the strongest sorcerers of their generation is still no proper excuse for delegating responsibility for the thing that their whole society relies upon to them. They were still literal teenagers who had not even finished their education as sorcerers at that point. They were sixteen and held responsible for somebody's life and well-being, with it constantly being threatened by members of two exceptionally dangerous organisations -- not to mention the whole price-on-Amanai's-head business. And all the while we get no notion of any teacher, any adult in charge and authority over them, bothering to check in on their progress with the mission whatsoever. And what about their emotional state, what about the severely traumatic -- nearly fatal -- experience they both endured? Did anybody make sure they went into, I don't know, therapy, like they should have? Were they provided with at least some extra emotional support from their mentors? I would gamble the chances of this actually happening are little to none. Almost like the system adopts this 'don't care' attitude merely because there is no point in tending to emotional well-being of somebody who they already view as disposable.
That being the case, it comes as no surprise that Geto did not know how to give voice to everything that was troubling him, did not know how to reach out for help when he found himself drowning in doubts. The system does not give the youth any room to develop healthy coping mechanisms, does not provide its sorcerers with any support in case they find themselves struggling mentally. No one is ever there to give Geto and Gojo or Nanami or even Shoko comfort, advice and guidance they all needed. Thus they just don't know how to apply for help -- because they are simply not used to, not taught how to. To circle back to my previous thoughts, the system does not prepare young sorcerers to be saved. The end result is inevitably trying to reach out to somebody struggling without that person ever reaching back or even recognising there is a need for them to do so in order to get help.
Gojo starts to break this pattern by taking in a child with no support system. And while no, I'm not saying Gojo was anywhere near equipped to play the role of that system to Megumi at that time, this decision on his part still counts as a step forward, even if a baby one (no pun intended).
4. Educating the youth
So, after taking it upon himself to help take care of two children, Gojo eventually drives to the conclusion that making sure that the younger generation in jujutsu society gets necessary support is indeed in order.
And I think there's somewhat a relation to be found between the role Gojo plays in Megumi's life and the way he delivers on his responsibilities as a teacher. Although Gojo oversees Megumi and Tsumiki's upbringing, he does so not as a parental figure, but rather as a mentor and a benefactor who ensures their well-being. The same may be applied to how he treats his students. He does not offer them emotional support himself, he isn't even by any measure the one who ties them together as a group, but he does in fact bring them together and does actively try to create the environment where they can bond and become each other's support system. Gojo's flawed personality is something even he himself admits to have, so he isn't necessarily the best man for the job when it comes to handling children's emotions. But he still, for instance, recognises that Yuuji has high emotional needs, so he brings him to Nanami -- an adult who is actually equipped to take care of his mental health. One other example of this is how, when the Goodwill Event fails in its purpose as an 'opportunity for the students to get to know each other in the spirit of competition', Gojo goes out of his way to instead organise a simple baseball game for them to play -- a team sport and an actual, normal as in 'non-lethal' bonding activity for teenagers.
There's an argument that Gojo too, in actuality, is not exactly always there for his students, but it's rather due to Gojo's high demand as a sorcerer than negligence or indifference on his part. In the end, Megumi does make a habit of calling Gojo when something goes downhill on a mission. And I would say it's a significant improvement in comparison with how things were back in Gojo's (and Geto's) day.
Also, that 'being a jujutsu sorcerer is an individual sport' reasoning on Gojo's part during his conversation with Megumi straight after the baseball game kind of speaks against everything I have been talking about for the last couple of paragraphs. Except that, as I personally take it, it's more indicative of the fact that Gojo, due to his inability to go beyond the bounds of power-oriented thinking, still puts too much weight on being strong as a sorcerer. Therefore here the more pressing issue for him was Megumi trudging behind and struggling to catch up with his own potential. That one thing which Geto didn't manage to do: keep up with the strongest. And Gojo does not want another Geto case.
After all, even Geto himself, the one who arguably suffered the most from the lack of concern towards young sorcerers' mental state and their detachment from literally everybody who could and probably should provide emotional support for them, somewhat gives credit to the improvements made since Satoru became a teacher.
(Whether Gojo's secret intention to push Yuuta to unlock his true potential by sending two children into the fight they couldn't win does or does not cross out the fact that he's forcing his students to stand up for each other. *coughs nervously*)
5. Conclusion
Perhaps it's somewhat inappropriate for me to go throwing around assumptions in a concluding part of this post, but I have very little experience with writing analysis and making concrete conclusions, so please bear with me for just a bit longer.
What really succeeded in striking me as odd when going through the story for the first time, is the interpretation which states that what Gojo really seeks to achieve by becoming a teacher is influencing his students and cultivating a particular mindset in them -- the one that would allow him to use them as valuable assets when it comes to overthrowing the current system. But how could that possibly be true if he doesn't even try to discuss politics with any of them, let alone force his own ideals and goals upon them? The only thing which he keeps insisting on in his students' regard and which is linked to his views is that they should be allowed to be kids, to have their youth inviolate.
While there's no doubt that Gojo wants the system to change, my guess is that he also wants to bring about this change through his students, with them truly living out his ideal, not simply parroting it at his prompting. And Gojo actually does want to raise strong and reliable comrades who can think for themselves and recognise the need for the system to change, making them into trustworthy allies -- not only to himself, but to each other, too.
His students really are all his hopes and dreams, huh?
In case everything written above seems to lack logical connections, here's the train of thought which led me through this rambling:
losing moral guidance and falling into power-oriented thinking → recognising that strength is indeed needed, but being strong alone is not enough → coming to take care of two children → decision to become a teacher → fostering the younger generation into strong allies capable of providing help for each other when needed and being each other's support system → how to do that? let kids be kids and forge strong relationships which they can rely upon
Thank you for reading through this mess of my making!!

Hello Stray community! After two months of work, I'm excited to bring your attention to this video!
Someone by the name of "Балвд лыжыэфэф" on YouTube extracted over six hours of music and ambience from Stray's game files. This is an amazing resource, full of extended tracks, ambience, and cut content.
What it lacked, however, were time-stamps. The description included a list of all the audio files that were extracted, but nothing to indicate when a track ended or began, nor where it played in-game.
So, I did all that! Almost every track in this video is now time-stamped, with listings that show where everything plays in-game. I made a comment that listed everything as it appears in the video, and one that lists everything as it appears in-game. I also made a list of some motifs. I couldn't help myself.
This was a lot of work, and I'm so thrilled to share it with you all. If you're looking for a song that was never or only partially included in the OST, you'll find it here! And if you find any mistakes, please let me know! Enjoy!
#I listened to six and a half hours of Stray audio so you don't have to! (But you should. It's all great.)#(But maybe you shouldn't listen to all of it. It's a lot of audio.)#(But listen to some of it!! You won't regret it. The audio is BEAUTIFUL.)#(Now it's just. Easier to navigate! It was such a mess when I found it.)#Did I mention that this video is ad free? I don't think I could've done this if it wasn't.#Stray game#Stray 2022#Text#Strayposting#Yeah that's my personal Stray tag now. For when I post about Stray. Which is never.#But I will! I will. I must.#Feel free to send an ask if you're having trouble finding a certain track! I'd love to help you.#I already have a chunk of the file names memorized..#Speaking of file names! Some of them are weird! And disturbing! And strange!#Like this one track is called Cult for seemingly no reason. Curious.#There's quite a few others. But I'll let you discover them yourself.#Also! If you just wanna. Talk about the music. With somebody. I would love to talk about the music with you.#Please talk to me about the music.#I'm full of the music.#Do you know how long I've been listening to the music. Ill-Fated Break
1.6k words Moshang sickfic, very fluffy with a hint of angst This fic has been cross-posted on AO3, if you'd like to support it there.
---
“And that’s why I propose we should…” One demon spoke up, drawing the attention of everyone else in the room.
Shang Qinghua watched with little interest, a quiet sigh escaping his lips as he watched patiently. The brush in his hand was swift against the numerous papers placed in front of him, the words spoken by every councilman here written down in messy script. It might’ve looked like chicken scratch to anybody who attempted to read, but it was understandable to him. And that’s all he needed.
He leaned his head against his hand, his elbow propped up against the ice cold table. The room felt colder than usual, which was bizarre given the climate. He glanced towards Mobei Jun, who was sitting next to him with his arms crossed tightly. Qinghua could see how tense the other man was, his clawed fingers digging into the fabric of his robes. Despite that, he didn’t seem more upset or irritated than usual. That ruled out the possibility of Mobei Jun causing the unusual chill.
“That wouldn’t work. You’re missing a vital piece of information…” Another demon raised his concerns, politely declining the previous proposal.
The words droned on, melding together in a messy pile of nonsense that Qinghua struggled to understand. The headache that lingered from earlier in the morning pulsed with each sound, the weariness beginning to drag him down. Even the dark bags that perpetually remained under his eyes seemed to feel heavier than usual.
He could feel Mobei Jun’s piercing gaze scrutinizing him. Watching him. A bead of sweat slipped down his forehead as he strained to focus on what was going on, his hand shaky as it wrote.
“Whatever. We should just discuss this at the next meeting.” One of the arguing demons finally relented, to the agreement of everyone else at the table.
The sound of the meeting potentially ending caused Qinghua’s head to perk up, his attention stolen almost immediately. The other demons at the table were already preparing to leave, causing him to sigh in relief at the sight. He placed his pen down, leaning back in his chair.
Mobei Jun finally spoke after what felt like hours of pure silence, “This meeting is adjourned. I expect you all to be here next week at the same time. Understood?”
The group muttered their agreement, lowering their heads in respect before properly standing. They filed out the door, one by one, until only the two of them remained. Still seated, unmoving.
“My King, are you ready to leave?” He asked quietly, his voice echoing in the now empty conference hall.
He raised an eyebrow, “Are you?”
“I’ve been ready to leave the moment I stepped foot in here,” He joked with a tired smile, an attempt at lightening the mood. If only just a little.
It seemed to have worked though, as Mobei Jun smiled small enough that it would have put the Mona Lisa to shame. Hardly noticeable, but to a man like Shang Qinghua, it meant the world to him.
“Let’s get going, then. I’ll make the noodles you like for lunch.” Mobei Jun stood up, his fur-lined cloak swishing around him for a moment. “Or would you prefer to rest in our chambers?”
“No! No, noodles are fine, My King!” Qinghua abruptly stood up himself, shaking his head rapidly until the world started to spin around him. “We can go to the kitchen and make them together!”
Mobei Jun’s eyes widened at the sudden display of energy. “Alright. Come on.”
He turned his back to Qinghua, stepping off towards the door leading out into the many corridors of the Northern Fortress. He followed along, trying his best to keep up with Mobei Jun’s long strides as they paced through the long hallway. The sun lightly streamed through the windows, causing the ice to shimmer in a mesmerizing display.
They walked a little further, until a particular sight of the small garden outside caught his attention.
He paused.
Qinghua turned his head to look out the window, a sinking feeling in his stomach. The longer he stood, the lighter he felt on his feet. He lowered his gaze to the ground, unaware that Mobei Jun had stopped to turn and look at him. The ground was swirling, colors mixing together into a blur he couldn’t quite make out. “....Qinghua. Qinghua.” Mobei Jun called out to him, waving a hand in front of his face to grab his attention. He blinked, looking up to Mobei Jun, but not looking at him. He swayed, quickly placing a hand over his forehead in dismay. “...My King.” He murmured sluggishly, “Pardon this one…”
The ground was catching up to him. With each second that passed, the cold floors of the corridor grew closer and closer. All until it inevitably faded to the harsh black of unconsciousness.
He never collided with the floor.
—
“You called this master here because Shang-shidi is dying?” Shen Qingqiu fluttered his fan, eyeing the lump burrowed underneath thick blankets on the bed in front of him.
Shang Qinghua was deeply unconscious, tossing and turning in the bed restlessly with a furrowed brow. Every so often he’d mutter a few incomprehensible words before rolling back over, a visible sheen of sweat dampening his forehead. Shen Qingqiu approached cautiously, keeping a close watch to gauge Mobei Jun’s reaction before reaching out to touch Qinghua slowly.
His forehead was burning to the touch, and he could hear him mutter, “System… Five more minutes…” before he rolled away from his hand.
‘Airplane bro, you aren’t alone! You’ll expose yourself like this!’ He pursed his lips, narrowing his eyes before standing up. Mobei Jun was still watching him restlessly, his entire body tense. The room was frigid cold, more so than usual. Even Shen Qingqiu couldn’t help but resist a shiver at the freezing temperature.
“He’s been muttering things I don’t quite understand, and he’s incredibly hot to the touch,” Mobei Jun spoke after a moment of silence, crossing his arms against his chest stiffly.
“Shang-shidi is not dying, so there’s no need to be so tense. It seems he’s just caught a bad fever.” He snapped his fan shut, waving it in Mobei Jun’s direction. “A few days of rest should help him recover.”
“A bad fever,” Mobei Jun repeated coldly, “I thought human cultivators don’t get sick.”
“Shang-shidi’s cultivation has always been a bit weaker than ours,” Shen Qingqiu explained, “it’s not entirely impossible for him to get sick. Just harder.”
“I see.” Mobei Jun furrowed his eyebrows in concentration, mulling over the information that had just been shared with him.
It would be best if Airplane bro himself were awake to explain how the hell this happened in the first place, Shen Qingqiu approached again, reaching a hand out to shake Shang Qinghua. Once. Twice.
He opened his eyes for a moment, his gaze unfocused and tired. He seemed to recognize Shen Qingqiu, because what came out of his mouth was a confused “...Cucumber bro?”
“Wrong answer,” Shen Qingqiu seethed quietly, hastily nodding his head in the direction of Mobei Jun. Shang Qinghua failed to understand what exactly the gesture meant.
“Dude… I had the wildest dream..” He coughed, voice hoarse.
Seemed like a sore throat was on the table too, unfortunately. Shen Qingqiu paged that information away for later.
“For a minute… Thought I went back home. The readers were-” Shang Qinghua was very abruptly cut off by a pillow stuffed into his face. The rest was muffled into incomprehension, left unheard.
“Go back to sleep before you expose yourself in your delirium.” He hissed, all while Mobei Jun seemed to pick up on their conversation.
“...Is that normally how humans treat their illnesses?” He tilted his head questioningly at the act, his expression dark.
Shen Qingqiu quickly composed himself and looked to the taller demon calmly, “It’s meant to help cool him off. A fever raises the body temperature unnaturally, and it’s too uncomfortable to rest well.”
Mobei Jun seemed to lighten up a little, though it was quickly replaced with an inquisitive look. “What is a ‘Cucumber bro’?”
Shen Qingqiu froze for a moment, “I… Am not entirely sure myself. Shang-shidi must be incredibly delirious to say such confusing things.” He snapped his fan back open, swiftly hiding behind it. Mobei Jun only looked more confused at his answer, but accepted it nonetheless. He approached Qinghua’s bedside, nudging the pillow away to get a better look at the other man. Qinghua was once again out cold, eyes closed and brow furrowed with the uncomfortable heat that plagued him. Mobei Jun lightly placed a cold hand on his forehead, sending some spiritual energy to cool him off.
“Would this help?” He asked Shen Qingqiu, who watched from the side.
“It should. Just let him rest and he’ll be alright,” He affirmed, backing away from the two of them. “If that’s all you needed from me, I should take my leave.”
Mobei Jun only nodded quietly in response, leaving Shen Qingqiu to leave on his own devices. He pulled his hand away from Qinghua for a moment, only to see the poor man whine at the loss of comforting coolness. He softened his expression, pulling a chair over to sit next to him.
Once he was properly seated, he returned his hand to its place on Qinghua’s forehead, watching his body relax almost immediately at the touch. It was a comforting sight despite the situation, knowing that Qinghua trusted him.
“My king…” Qinghua mumbled with a weak smile, still unconscious. Mobei Jun smiled in return, “I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”

cool epic guide on how to unlock Barry in DTM for free without needing other people to download the game!!!!
exactly what it says on the tin, a little step-by-step guide on how to unlock the goober himself without having to harass five friends (and then lose five friends) to download the game!!!
what you need:
two mobile devices that can run DTM (both can be real phones or one or both of them can be emulated; either will work as they function exactly the same). one of them will be your main device that you want to unlock Barry on, while the other will function as your "friend"'s device.
at least five separate gmail addresses that do not have any Google Play Games data related to DTM (protip: you can just keep making as many new gmail addresses on your main mobile device through the Google app as you need without it eventually asking for your phone number)
DTM on your main device
(oh and make sure you're logged onto your Google Play Games account on your main device before you do this. also: this guide only works with Android devices. i don't have an ios device to test this out with im sorry apple users)
step one: open your "friend" device and create a new Google Play Games account using one of the five gmail accounts you made before doing the process. make sure that you set it so that account can be searched via its associated email (meatball menu -> settings -> "Let others find your profile using your email address" under Profile and Privacy). on your main device, open the Google Play Games app, tap on your profile, search up the email address of the friend GPG account (located under your tag) and send that account a friend request.
step two: on your main device, tap on Barry in the character selection menu, tap the "OR GET IT FOR FREE" button on the purchase popup, tap the "INVITE NOW" button on the invite popup, then tap the "INVITE WITH EMAIL" button on that popup. it should directly open to gmail for you to send a referral link to your "friend" account (if it doesn't, the "MORE" button should let you open gmail there). send that email and hope it finds your "friend" well.
step three (very important): on your "friend" device, open up gmail and install the game directly using that link. it won't work if you install the game from google play without clicking that link. wait for it to install and make sure to sign in with your GPG account before doing anything in the app. if all is well and you're signed in, play through the prologue in its entirety.
step four: if this works correctly, you should be able to open DTM on your main device and see that you have received the King's Goon reward.
step five (also very important): on your "friend" device, exit out of DTM and go into the GPG app, go to your profile settings and delete all of your data associated with Dan The Man, then uninstall it. you can delete your data from GPG's settings. the reason this is necessary is to prevent any data fuckery with the game thinking you've already done the prologue even if you're signed in on another account, as that data is also stored locally on your device. delete the game and its data, and then log out of that GPG account as it will not be needed from now on. you can also delete that account too if you want to, but it's not super necessary.
step six: go all the way back to step one and create a new Google Play Games account, this time using another email that hasn't been used for this before. repeat this process until you receive Barry Steakfries on your main device. if you mess up, create a new gmail address and delete all your DTM data on the "friend account".
this process is kinda long and tedious, but it works really well and is pretty much the only way i can think of getting Barry for free without needing 5 other people and having to rely on a modded apk that doesn't even work when you install it anyway. this SHOULD be all the steps needed.
#barry steakfries#dan the man#halfbrick#halfbrick studios#guide#mobile game#mobile games#this SHOULDN'T be cheating..... it technically isn't cheating#i'm playing by the rules i'm just being very cheeky about it >:)#also while factchecking this to make sure i was writing down the right steps i learned the dtm referral email doesn't have any pre-written-#-text about how kickass the game is anymore. it just sends a regular ol' link now. boring. lame.#it used to do that.... why doesn't it do that anymore......#(at least it didn't have any text when i tested it just now as of writing this)#i hope this guide was helpful :) i wanted to be very clear and specific cause each step is pretty specific#you can mess up easily if you aren't keeping track of everything (like i did many times)#shhhh dont tell halfbrick i friended myself 5 times to get barry hehehehehee#(i was very desperate to unlock him)

Day 11:
(Part 1)
(masterpost)
Topic: Shubble lore (Part 2)
So I start off by I read the fandom wiki and it mentions nothing about her being unpopular in her class and I double checked in the videos and yeah my mind was making stuff up (the videos mention her becoming popular, kinda like a highschool legend but nothing related to net being popular previously). She was just disliked by the higher ups '-_-
Well anyway back to the topic!
So let's talk about why is she a Storm witch in witchcraft smp? Well if you watched esmp2 you probably remember the ending where she gets a glow up and switches her themes from general fog witch to specialized storm witch. She even goes to Joel to learn about thunder!( And we also learn Joel is a bad teacher cause you ain't having someone train for 10 years and then they're only power is making rain like I know why but just think about the implications °°)
So why stars?
That's the question I brought up before as well, her design is star and space coded, not storm, why?
Well it's nature wiwes.
If you're unaware esmp2 from Shubble pov (and only from her pov, Katrine cut the scene like wha??) ends with her getting to go on an implied date with Katrine. At previous moments we seen her crushing, and she even fought Pirate Joey for a chance to date her.
After she dies (okay if you really don't know the ending I do sound like a lunatic but I swear all of the stuff I'm telling you happen in 1 ending episode, she's just going through the motions) she has her hair turn white, signifying her resurrection. That color is almost opposite to her brunette hair so it's immediately makes her go from a spring/fall to a cold winter color season making her look out of place in her old clothes. When she meets with Katrine she mentions not liking the hair and thinking about dying it. Katrine to that immediately says that it suits her and it makes her look like moonlight. Later we see her getting her new outfit and based on a comment made by the creator on the video, she basically took Katrine's compliment and made it her entire aesthetic.
So yeah the star theming comes from that, she just took her crushes words and run with it.
However I still don't understand why they didn't just make her a star witch?
Here comes my theory:
Like I stated before I'm pretty sure it was a last minute change. Other possibility: not good enough mods, the fantasy pack they used could have just not have good star related mods.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that, stories change and grow. This happens often on esmp (think of Xornoth, who started out just Scott messing around with a voice changer) (or Hermes) (or the statue in the evermoore being made by Joey but later changed to be made by spirits) (my point is that it happens a lot) but it happens in any story, especially in smp based ones where the viewers could have a directly impact on the story. Watching an smp often like watching a story still in it's first draft, things just happen, you retcon things from before and pretend you have foreshadowed something you just made up 5 seconds ago. So what I'm trying to say that I been thinking a lot about how I tend to think of smp stories as this set in stone, proof-read story that cannot change and everything have been planned out before hand. Shubble must have planned to merge these characters from the start surely! But most of the times they're fluid and changing. Shubble could have planned it from the start of wcsmp and made her design based on that but she could have also just thought about it later. Katrine's comment could have no connection to Shubble's outfit but later on Shubble though it could fit so she pointed it out. Shubble didn't think about what lore implications every funny response she says had so if "I dunno I didn't go to school" was funny in the moment then why do I assume she meant more by it? And just to be clear this refers to all creators I watch, I just thought about it the most relating to Shubble.
Is anyone else in the same boat as me? I think I just have to stop overanalyzing lore details from something that happened 2 years ago (yeah I almost cried seeing that it feels like yesterday, the nostalgia shouldn't be hitting this hard TT)
Thank you for reading my ramble about nothing in particular. Hope you enjoyed this! I'll try to keep it short next time :'>
#daily witchcraft smp#I rambled about a topic like I actually know a thing about it#I got philosophical for no reason#I'm fine no need to send help#witchcraft smp#empires s2#disscussion#i talk a lot#to myself#you're strong if you read through this mess#you okay?#this is my life
