Imagine not being able to go shopping with Task Force 141. The first time you went group shopping it was just with Kyle and Johnny, but you quickly realized it was a mistake because the two went in on buying your groceries despite you insisting they didn’t have to. At first you think it’s a one time thing, the guys were just being nice, but after a few other trips with them you have to be careful on mentioning going to the store with them around, or else they will hound you to join and pay for everything. One time you slip up and ask if the guys need anything and ofc Johnny is jumping up to put his shoes on and Kyle’s reaching for his keys, but you’re at least quick enough to tell them no. Despite their pouty faces you’ve got your foot down, stating as much as you love the princess treatment you’re not gonna run them poor cuz of their choices to spoil you. Surprisingly Simon and Price say they’ll join you, the team running low on some basic supplies anyways so you’ll probably need the extra hands to help unload the car when you get back. You appreciate the offer, and are a bit relieved, because surely these two would be much stringent about their funds. Turns out, you do need help unloading, but not because of the groceries, because the two older men bought practically anything you even dared glimpse at, and you’re left there flushing still sitting in the car with your hands covering your embarrassed face while Simon calls for Soap and Gaz to come help, Price patting you on the shoulder and proceeding to rip the long receipts to shreds as he gets out the car, not even giving them a glance.

i had a dream that i had to team up with Bill Cipher to assassinate an angel.

I had to carve out its heart so that Bill would let me go.

I woke up very tired.

My @isat-secretsanta-2024 gift for @pillowspace!! They said they’re fascinated by secret research lab AUs, and, in a case of incredible serendipity, that’s been my favorite trope since I was like 8 years old. So I may have gotten possessed and spent three weeks straight worldbuilding a whole entire thing.

So! This comic is my gift for Pillow, but I’m planning to write a fic set in the same AU eventually, titled Desperate Measures. It will take place in a modern day Vaugarde and focus on Odile, Loop, and Siffrin, alongside other more-or-less-familiar faces. And by “eventually” I mean this is now my highest priority project, but it’s big enough that it may be a couple months till I have anything else to show!

But however strange it seems, I can't think of any reason they'd have to lie about it. Why else all the NDAs? Why else contact me? So I must assume that it's true. That after years of trying to solve humanity's loss of color vision — a project that began long before I joined it, and that I expected to continue long past my time — I am about to simply be shown a perceivable color. That's the strangest part, really; that this breakthrough isn't related to the mechanisms of sight, but rather, the thing seen.

For “everyone thinks Peter Parker is on his way to becoming a supervillain”, one of the reasons that Peter doesn’t notice (besides the huge reasons of being tired and having a ton on his plate to focus on), is because when people start on long awkward speeches on Being Good™️ and Not Letting Evil Win™️, because they’re trying to convince him to not become a supervillain without explicitly saying it

It just reminds him of how other heroes talk when they’re out in the public, y’know those kind of psa hero-speak thing, that a majority of them (especially Captain America) do for multiple reasons, one of them being that the stress of having a superhero identity just,, kinda makes you start talking like that without thinking about it

So he has no idea that’s not how normal people talk to each other, he’s accustomed to it, the speeches just sound like normal small talk to him

Allow me to say something good for once about having lower empathy. It’s not all awful- sometimes it’s helpful to me actually. A lot of my friends are going through a lot of bad shit. I’m better off than anyone else in our group to help them because I immediately default to fixing the problem as best I can instead of getting emotional. Empathy doesn’t make you a good person nor does a lower amount than “normal” make you a bad person. I’m still a compassionate person who wants to see people be happy. I still care!

Why do we have to be constantly negative about our traits, hate our traits, pretend they are 100 percent negative all the time, just because they’re not nice and cutesy and presentable to the neurotypicals? My low empathy causes me problems sometimes, like all my other traits can at times, but I don’t want to pretend it’s awful and life ruining at all times and that I can’t be a good friend or take care of my friends, because I can. And I’ll do it better than everyone who judges people with low empathy ever could.
