i had a dream i was on a blog looking at rlly cute fanart of an au but then i woke up wtffff it was kind of like a reverse robins au i guess but only the ages really changed where jason was the oldest and dick tim and damian seemed sort of all closer in age. it was like jason living on his own but then having to take care of these 3 kids that wont leave him be... he got adopted for his weird stray dog swag. there were more characters but i only saw them listed in a blog post like more kids that were ocs with a similar dynamic with jason like the batkids but i cant remember their names :[ BUT THEY HAD A PET DOG I REMEMBER HER i was in the middle of reading a drabble w dick and jason ft the dog when i thought "if this is a dream im gonna be so sad" and then i woke up 😔

the fanart was jason reading and dick tim and damian leaning on him trying to read with him dick was standing behind him and tim and damian were sitting on either side of him it was so cute but in a style i cannot replicate </3 </3 </3 I MISS IT SO MUCH

ajax is indeed close to getting it, but i'm not sure this situation in particular was like- unsubtle? ajax only clocked it in as weird bc 1) he knows he's not human 2) he's realized zhongli just does not know the names of some things and 3) he's realized there's a good chance zhongli has never interacted with most technology and is just (somehow) apparently winging it but like, from a non-ajax pov, nothing about this sequence would've been necesarily weird. zhongli never stated he doesn't know what a walkietalkie is, ajax just (correctly) assumed that bit. he said "i've never used one of these before"; that's not a weird thing to say. you have an oldschool radio and you can't figure it out so you pass it over and say hey yeah never used one of these before. that's not weird. people don't assume you don't know what a radio is from that, this is just ajax' brain firing at all these things bc he already knows zhongli isn't human and not knowing how to use a military-grade walkitalkie- unless i'm missing something, that's not- weird. is it? is it weird to not know how to use a military grade handheld radio? yeah this version of teyvat probably had an equivalent to our motorolas before they got smartphones and yeah czl is in that age range but like still. if someone told me they don't know how to use an, again, military grade walkietalkie, i wouldn't be werided out by it. i can handle a motorola but i've never held a cop's walkietalkie so idk

This technology is so complex that no scientist can unravel it, and many people take it as a divine miracle. There are religious sects dedicated to the reformation phenomenon. 

For most people, you accept that there’s a chance you will be eaten by a predator. It will be one of the most painful things you can imagine, but you’ll make it out alive and unscathed so really not that bad. An inconvenience at most. But prey know that the damage is very temporary, which makes it easier to handle.

This would explain why prey are not terrified out of their gourd when being hunted by a predator. They’re annoyed and many (although there are exceptions) don’t want to be eaten. It’s not the end of the world though. And maybe they will be offered financial compensation, depending on where they live

Looking back at the mond archon quest and I'm wondering if they really needed the holy lyre in the first place. We know that Venti is fully capable of summoning Dvalin using his regular lyre, so why did he claim to need the other one? What's the difference between the holy lyre and the one he is currently using? Anyway, I am now fully convinced that they didn't need the lyre in the first place and Venti just made the traveler get it cuz he was pissed at them for ruining his first attempt at connecting with Dvalin. And then it just kind of spiraled from there.

Imagine Rudolph getting angry and protective when detective Poirot thinks you're the killer

Despite your best efforts to appear undeterred by the interrogation, the look that detective Poirot was giving you all almost made you want to cower. It was like he could see through you and it frightened you despite the fact that your two partners were beside you giving you support. You didn’t regret what you did to Cassetti and you knew that Rudolph nor the other passengers did either. What he did had a ripple effect that affected each of you and your lives would never be the same because of it. For him to continue and elude justice all these years was too much which was all why you had all instantly agreed when Ms. Arden had contacted you about her plan.

But now came the hard part: trying to not get caught. It would have been simple enough - all of you had good alibis and most detectives wouldn't have given the case a second glance after coming to the conclusion that Ratchett's enemies had boarded the train and killed him before taking off at the stop. But now things had become much harder with the world-renowned Poirot on the case.

You and Helena had been behind the compartment's curtain as Rudolph had insisted on talking to Poirot on all your behalf. But that didn't last long as your partner slammed his fist onto the table when the detective made the comment that he would note Rudolph's hesitance in letting Poirot talk to the both of you to the police. Jumping up from the bed, Helena threw open the curtain as she pressed a kiss to Rudolph's back and rubbed her hands on his upper arms in an effort to calm him.

Right behind her, you stood at his side and held in hand in your own as he rubbed the back of your hand with his thumb to comfort you. There was no doubt in your mind that he knew how nervous you were now that you stood before the detective.

"What about you, madam?" Poirot turned to you after his conversation with Helena had finished. It took all your might to not tense up as his attention focused on you. Motioning to your outfit, he asked: "Is that your only dressing gown?"

You shook your head. "I have another one in my luggage."

"And what material is it made of?"

"Silk."

"Do you often wear silk?"

When you nodded, he stood up straighter as a gleam appeared in his eyes. "And what were you doing on the afternoon of Ratchett's murder? I did not see you in any of the cars the whole time before the incident."

"I stayed in my compartment. The movement of trains made me ill so I stayed in bed. I don't usually get better until the second day on board when I have become used to its movements."

"So no one sees you yesterday and the night of Ratchett's murder, I see a woman in a silk dressing gown run down the corridor along with your alibi only being able to be supported by your partners."

At the accusation being thrown your way, not even Helena could calm Rudolph down or stop him as he slips from her hold with a yell and races over to the two of you. Pushing you behind him, he points a finger at Poirot and herds him toward the door. "I will not sit here and let you toss out baseless accusations toward my partner. We called for some soup to be made for [Name] and it arrived at one. You can check with the kitchen staff but do not say that either of my partners are murderers."

I've been trying not to start more WIPs without finishing old ones first, but I've also been in a severe writing slump this month and grasping at anything that excites me to try and get out of it, AND I was trapped at the barn for five and a half hours yesterday, re-read In Good Faith, and started thinking, "what if Jean's turn?" And that excites me. So IDK if this will go anywhere, but:

When the Hydrogunner hits them both, Jean understands the Cincin Mage's maneuver, and what's going to happen next. The Cryo Cincins are swarming towards them; the Electrohammer, a dozen feet away, is surrounded by crackling violet and limbering up for a charge. The Operative is still at her back. If she moves out of all those lines of fire, Amber will take at least one of those hits, and she's not sure that Amber will still be standing afterwards if she does.

Jean may not be, either. The Operative was truly clever in her ambush. But she can't let her Outrider go down.

"Amber, get clear!" she shouts. All their enemies are moving; the Operative is at her back, closest to Amber, so that's who she turns to parry. "Go for help!"

"Wait! I can-"

"*That's an order!*"

The Operative is flung back by her Gale Blade, hitting the ground hard enough that she doesn't immediately spring up. Good. There's a flash of red, Amber at least moving. Then the Cincins hit.

Jean tenses hard against the ice encasing her, trying to crack enough of it to break free. The Electrohammer gets there first. Broken spears of ice sinks into her flesh, and she can feel bones break, too; he'd hit her in the legs. She crashes to the ground, her left leg agonizingly unable to bear her weight.

Her Vision has recouped itself from the fight with the riftwolves. She can heal-

A flash of red beside her. She says "Amber," panicked, and then it solidifies into a black-cloaked figure. With a flick of his knife, he slashes through her coat, her side, and at the bottom her belt, ripping it, and her Vision, from her waist.

He tosses it to the Operative, who's holding her side as she stalks up to where Jean lies.

"Well, Acting Grand Master," she says. The Cincin Mage steps up on Jean's other side, Hydrogunner and Electrohammer at her back. "A pleasure to meet you at last. My informant wasn't joking about your prowess. Nor your weaknesses."

At that, Jean glances quickly around. The one, thin relief she has, as the Electrohammer reaches down to jerk her up by her cape around her neck, is that she sees no sign of Amber. At least her Outrider has gotten away.

Ok, it’s been a while since I watched it, and, well…. I really don’t want to rewatch the last season but if I recall… Sandor leaves Winterfell to travel to King’s landing, and Arya catches up to him and they travel together.

Jamie also leaves for King’s landing to reunite with his surprise plot twist true love.🤮🤬

And all the Unsullied, Dothraki, Jon, Tyrion, etc etc also travel to King’s landing. (Danny presumably flies in later… staying behind alone in Winterfell. Or is the dragon WALKING with them?)

But they all seem to travel separately. Arrive roughly at the same time, but travel separately.

Did they all see each other on the horizon and refuse to catch up?

I'm kinda curious about the period of time when Minato was Hokage, because there's so much you could say about Konoha depending on it. It could be that I don't remember what the manga says about it too, but anyway.

We know that before Minato was Hokage, the discrimination towards jinchuurikis was high. We know it from Kushina's story. After Minato, the jinchuurikis discrimination was not exactly as bad as it could have been (and the bar is soooo low) in physical terms, but the level of sheer isolation was ridiculous. Sure, Kushina had guards and she lived in a tower with a perimeter drawn around it, one that she couldn't surpass. The difference is that Kushina knew why she was being isolated, there was someone willing to teach her about it right from the start, a family member even if distant, someone with the same experience.

All Naruto knew is that he was unwanted. He had no family, no one was willing to guide him. No, not even Iruka. I'm talking about before in the manga, before Iruka realized how much Naruto needed him and did something about it.

If that was before and after, how was it during the time Minato was Hokage?

Did Minato push for Kushina to become Hokage? Was the idea rejected? Did he get angry? It was her dream after all. Or did they realize it would be impossible so they pushed Minato to go for it? Were they sad about the idea of Kushina having to live her dream through Minato, because they wouldn't let her go for it? When did Kushina give up and change her goal in life?

Did Minato tell anyone about his plan on how to get rid of the jinchuuriki discrimination? Did he talk about it with Kushina? We know that they planned Naruto's birth and tried to make it as safe as possible. When the time to seal Kurama within Naruto came, they both knew how Konoha would treat Naruto. Minato wanted Naruto to be viewed as the son of a hero, but his wishes were thrown aside as soon as his body was cold enough.

With no law to protect the jinchuuriki of the kyubi, I wonder how bold the people of Konoha were in their discrimination against Kushina while Minato was Hokage. Times were different, Minato was highly respected and feared, but how many times did he have to tell someone to mind their words? How many times did he catch Kushina avoiding a certain restaurant or a street? Did he ever feel a slight of resentment against his home for the way they treated his wife? His pregnant wife?

Were there rumors of the child being a monster for being the son of a jinchuuriki? It could be that some Konoha parents telling their kids to not play with the little Uzumaki/Namikaze was a thing before Naruto was even born?

From what I've seen, Konoha has no gentleness for kids of prestigious lineages. Being a child of a powerful shinobi makes your life worse, in fact. A million times over: it happened to Sasuke, to Neji, it happened to Kakashi in the generation before them, it happened to Itachi in the in-between.

I don't think that being the son of the hokage would have saved Naruto for being mistreated by the village. Not when his mother was a jinchuuriki.

It just makes me wonder, you know?

In the time he had, how did Minato try to change things to protect his family?

Was it a matter of needing more time? Or there wasn't a plan at all?
