Do you do anything to keep your cats away from your plants or are you just blessed by having cats who don't care about them?
They resent the implication that they would ever be so naughty.
I taught them to leave the plants alone when they were little, and they tend to follow the rules. It helps that I regularly grow them wheatgrass and catnip, which they can and do devour. Cats often enjoy eating grass and it is a healthy part of their diet, so if you're having issues with a nibbler, try getting them something they are allowed to eat. Grocery store live wheatgrass is a great option if you don't want to grow from seed (though that is very easy tbh).

How successful have the outlaw rehab centres been compared to banishment and execution that the wheatgrass guild performs?
Keaton: Patients are more receptive to treatment than most would expect. See, crime, especially that which falls under the "petty" variety such as theft, often stems from a need not being met. The rehab centers offer resources to local support while focusing on educating pokemon on programs in their area meant to help with quality of life.
For some, it's not access to resources that they struggle with, but instead dealing with stigmatized mental health issues. It's easy for society to shun these individuals, which in turn leads to feelings of isolation and resentment. Rehabilitation can't always "cure" these conditions the way you can cure a physical ailment, but it can develop support groups of individuals that understand each other better than anyone else. For some even receiving a diagnosis, being able to put their experiences into words, is enough to help find their footing.
... But there are some pokemon that truly don't want help. Usually this option isn't presented until their third or fourth legal infraction, but if they don't accept their sentence to rehabilitation, they can choose between imprisonment or banishment. The latter option is only available for recurrent petty crime- major felonies such as murder lead straight to imprisonment. Rehabilitation services are still available in prison, but as you might suspect, the main difference is that pokemon cannot come and go as they please. The leniency our guild affords criminals can sometimes lead to trouble, but we operate under the idea that if we sow seeds of compassion, our society tomorrow will be brighter for it. The guildmaster deeply believes that there are no truly bad pokemon.

This was lunch. I ate out for a change just cuz (ooooooh, wild!). I ate at Raw and ordered the East Salad, which had all sorts of good stuff like beets, kale, currants, oranges, red cabbage, black sesame seeds, carrots, sprouted almonds, and tahini dressing.
It was hella yummy — a bit too much, really, since I devoured the whole thing in a matter of minutes, all the while ignoring my tummy's pain signals. I had a serving of wheatgrass, too (check out the before/after and the fancy shot glass). Lunch was deeeeeeelicious.

Designers try to steer the industry toward a more ethical, sustainable future, materials are often front of mind, including for Zena Holloway, who recently released a collection of garments and objects grown from grass roots.
Inspired by the sprawling, delicate shape of coral, Holloway creates soft, textured dresses, collars, lamps, and mobiles from wheatgrass seed. The plant sprouts over the course of about two weeks in beeswax molds. As it grows, it produces its intricately woven root structure, which the designer guides into specific spaces or allows to expand into large, sheet-like forms. Entirely compostable, the material is “both reality and metaphor, aiming to expose the beauty and vulnerability of coral and to champion ocean conservation,” and has the potential to be sewn into clothing or shaped into other functional goods.
The project, known as Rootfull, is ongoing, and Holloway shares a glimpse of her process in the video below. Follow her latest designs on Instagram.

Of all the reasons we are given to dislike Ian in Thursday Murder Club, this is the silliest.
It is Ian’s regular smoothie. Some raspberries, a fistful of spinach, Icelandic yogurt (Finnish, if they are out of Icelandic), spirulina, wheatgrass, acerola cherry powder, chlorella, kelp, acai extract, cocoa nibs, zinc, beetroot essence, chia seeds, mango zest, and ginger. It is his own invention, and he calls it Keep It Simple.

Elliot’s birthday is upon us! And unsurprisingly, the young man had many gifts from different people arriving at his door in various packages and letters. Of which, a small package with a returning address from Toyama.
Inside the box was packed with many flower pots in the shape of different animals - A frog, cat, dog, and panda respectively. Each one had a cloth tongue that would unravel to create a cute, if not goofy mechanism to soak up water on its own without the need of watering the plants. None of the pots contained any plants, but a bag of soil and two bags of seeds labeled “wheatgrass” and “cat grass” were included in the gift box.
Together with this gift, a letter neatly written was found inside:
Hope you’re having a good birthday, kiddo! Remember our last discussion on houseplants? I figured that as a gift, I could give a few tools for you to get started. The pots were actually my niece’s favorites. The problem is, I couldn’t pick one animal to get you so I just got a couple for you to pick out.
The seeds I picked out are simple grasses, safe for most animals. I do have to warn against letting your little cat friend from eating the straight wheatgrass since large amounts can lead to gastric disorders, so maybe keep that away. But generally, grasses are a great help in giving animals some necessary vitamins and aid in digestion. It can help you look for any stomach issues too, since animals tend to eat a lot of grass when something is wrong.
If you’re curious about what else you can fill the other pots with, I can definitely help with that! I would have gone down to the Tokyo area myself to give this gift, but I’m stuck in Okinawa still for business. I hope that this package got to you safely! Enjoy your day!
- Kensaku Morimoto
Looking at the little potted figures, Elliot smiled at them; particularly, the green frog one since it reminded him of Kensaku-sensei. He made a note to make sure to check on these every day, along with the flowers that his acquaintance, Max, had given him. He was truly grateful to Kensaku-sensei. Knowing the medicinal effects for plants and their effects on animals was really note-worthy. It was partially for that reason that he began studying up under the Toyama researcher. He made a note to ask Kensaku-sensei what other herbs he could use for the pots. Placing them somewhere close next to Max's flowers, the bespectacled-nerd again smiled at the designs on them.
"I'm gonna have to come up names for all for of you," he said to himself, giving them one last smile before leaving the room.

ive always said the best way to decide on a tattoo is to leave it in the hands of strangers (/j) so.....
pine needles: more meaningful and my mom would like it better, more detailed than what i'd like for a a spontaneous little tattoo
wheatgrass: more on par with my field (get it get it lol ) of interest, simpler, less meaning but still a little bit

I’ve not been doing well for a bit (no worries, hanging in there- normal mental health funk fun stuff) but my husband got me a little terrarium kit as an early birthday present. Raccoon roasting marshmallows!! It should start growing chia seeds and wheatgrass! The stickers and the sand and I think the raccoon’s fire glow in the dark. Little bright spot in how rough today has been 💕

So a while back, you showed Vice or Malice lounging on a truly impressive cat-sized bed of cat grass. I'm assuming you made it (though if you purchased it, I'd love to know that too.) What materials did you use?
Oh, that's super easy! It's just wheatgrass seed and a couple handfuls of potting soil, chucked into a large plastic tray. We're talking maaaybe an inch of dirt, and an even (but decently dense) layer of seed on top. I douse it in water to get it started, and then just keep it damp, and it grows very quickly. I often do a couple trays in rotation--I have some cheap LED grow lights from amazon on a little shelving unit, I just do it there--and when one mat of grass dies, I pull out the whole thing and put it in my compost.
Most of the seeds sold as "cat grass" are just a mix of wheatgrass seeds, which you can often get far more cheaply at a feed supply store. I plant in the large plastic base tray for starting seedlings, because I have a bunch of them, but you could easily use those disposable foil pans, or thrift a pyrex dish to use. If you're not going too crazy with watering, you don't need drainage holes.
But it's super easy! I just keep a gallon bag of wheatgrass seed and a little bin of soil, mix and let it go. It's a good short term houseplant--for those who forget to water in the long term, fear not, this is like a one-month operation--and it's fantastic enrichment for indoor cats.

Every time people start talking about GMOs it takes a massive effort for me not to become the most annoying person alive.
Ah, you don’t want to eat genetically modified foods? That’s fine, if a bit restrictive, since you’ll be cutting out cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, broccoli and broccolini, kale, kohlrabi, and whatever else we’ve discovered is all derived from wild mustard - that is, wild mustard that has been “Genetically Modified“ to become something else.
But at least you’ll have- welp, nope, sorry, basically every citrus is the bastard child of citron, mandarin oranges, and/or pomelos. Good luck finding an edible almond that isn’t genetically modified, since genetic modification is what make almonds safe to eat in the first place. Corn and potatoes are available thanks to Indigenous North and South Americans, who have been cultivating them into edible forms for millenia.
I guess you can eat grass - wheatgrass was a big thing oh wait sorry there’s definitely some genetically modified grasses out there! Uhhhhh what about meat? Yeah, bad news, anything domesticated by a human being has been “““genetically modified”“““ to some extant - you know, that thing called selective breeding, where ranchers pick desirable traits and ensure the next generation has em?
Speaking of which, if the GMO-free lifestyle extends to more than just your diet, are you going to take your dog to the shelter? Because that isn’t a wolf anymore.
It’s so frustrating that GMO has become the newest bogus diet dogwhistle instead of people championing against the actual problem of sterilized seeds that are driving farmers to ruin; instead using it to (more often than not) be casually racist and classist rather than affecting any kind of real change.

The Power of Powdered Fiber: How Plant-Based Supplements Fuel Better Health
It works better than expected on improving digestion, which goes a long way when the body gets better oxygenated energy levels, making way for good heart health, as well. So, in general, it really matters how exactly some kinds of powdered fiber compare and work within your belly or otherwise, for people so into them.
Why Powdered Fiber Matters: Getting the Right Kind of Fiber
You’ve probably been told that fiber is something to be had, but I wonder if you knew about powdered fiber, especially from plant sources? It’s like having an explosion of all the great sources of fibers and nutrition into one that can help provide digestive regularity with added convenience.
Power of Fiber and How To Get Started on Digestion Boosters
You may know you are low in fiber if you have ever felt listless or just not quite “right” after a meal. Fiber acts like a gentle broom, sweeping away waste and helping the food move through your system. When you get enough of it, your digestive system thanks you. But let’s face it-getting the recommended amount of daily fiber can be tough.
This is where plant-based fiber supplements fit in. These convenient powder forms combine plant fiber obtained from sources such as flaxseed, chia seeds, and psyllium husk to increase your levels with ease. For many people, it’s a quick and tasty way to get enough fiber without the hassle.
Fiber Benefits for Digestive Health:
Promotes Healthy Bowel Movements — It keeps things moving right along.
This helps control your appetite since it makes you feel full to avoid overeating.
Organic Superfood Powders Beyond the Basic Fiber
What makes powdered fiber truly magical is that it can combine with organic superfoods. Most of the high-quality plant based fiber supplement combine nutrient-dense greens and antioxidant-rich ingredients that add a nutrient punch to each scoop. Therefore, you get your fiber and vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants supporting general health.

Organic superfood powders are a step above by also incorporating superfoods like spirulina, wheatgrass, and chlorella. They will add exactly what you need to add to your wellness routine.
What to Look for in an Organic Superfood Powder

Plant-Based Fiber Supplements vs. Traditional Fiber Sources
You might be thinking, “But I can just get it from fruits, vegetables, or grains.” Yeah, those are the best sources, but in the busy world we live today, we don’t all find the time to get it in through food alone. Getting the right food just becomes a hassle. Plant-based fiber powders are perfect for those on-the-go people who merely want to increase their amount of fiber without meal planning.
Unlike most traditional sources, fiber powders mix instantly into any drink or recipe. And they pack a concentrated dose, so you need less to get the same fiber punch. Plus, they blend seamlessly with plant-based diets, offering a natural, cruelty-free way to keep digestion on track and nutrition levels high.
Getting Started with Powdered Fiber: A Few Simple Tips
Ready to add powdered fiber to your life? Here are some fast facts:
Start with half the dose: Your body may need a little time to adjust to new fiber.
Drink plenty of fluids: Fiber needs water to be effective, so hydrate.
Mix it up: Add fiber powder to different foods — try smoothies, oatmeal, even soups.

Plant-based powdered fiber is the most convenient way to reach any health goal. Want some morning energy? Toss that scoop into the breakfast smoothie. Need a lift after lunch? Mix it into your water. This is all about making fibre fit into your life rather than fitting into other things.

Adding plant-based fiber to your diet may bring some incredibly great advantages to well-being. Here are a few more ways fiber benefits health:
Helps regulate healthy cholesterol levels — Fiber binds to cholesterol particles to reduce bad cholesterol.
Supports blood sugar levels — Fiber slows the absorption rate of sugar, helping to provide steady energy.
