Best Siblings Round 3: Black & White (Not Me: The Series) vs Tonhom & Long Pao & Seeiw (My Only 12%)

Black & White: "White literally takes on Black’s life in order to figure out who hurt him, and when Black wakes up, he does everything in his power to make sure White is safe (even if it isn’t necessarily what is right or what White might want, but Black gets there eventually). They have an established twin connection that’s so strong that Black wakes up from a coma when White fucks his nemesis. Even with their separation at such a young age, it’s clear that they are some of the, if not the, most important people in each other’s lives. Also, I think it’s really interesting that White learns so much about who he is and what he believes through posing as Black, and a lot of their individual strengths and weaknesses balance each other out super well."

Tonhom & Long Pao & Seeiw: "These three, especially Seeiw and Long-Hom, have been shown to be so supportive and caring of one another, particularly concerning Seeiw’s journey of accepting that he’s gay and in love with Cake as well as their journey of grief together. They all rely on each other and take care of each other, especially when it matters most. Two of the most pivotal moments of the show, for me at least, were when Long-Hom watches a film with Seeiw that depicts two men in a relationship and Long-Hom notices just how much it affects Seeiw. Later on, Seeiw confesses his feelings for Cake to Long-Hom during one of the emotional highlights of the show, and she handles it so well, dispelling his idea that he’s somehow dirty for having feelings for another boy. Seeiw asks Long-Hom if it’s okay, why was everyone in the movie so upset? Why didn’t the two men in love get a happy ending? And you can just see Long-Hom’s heart break in that moment. She doesn’t know what to say, but she does her best to support Seeiw, and that’s all she really could do, in my opinion."

See, this is an interesting question. I've been thinking about it for days, and now I just want a follow up show about Wiwa Square tackling all of the new gay weddings. I'd love this as an episodic show where the challenges the classic BL couple is dealing with reflects something going on with Nuea's or his people's lives. Any Thai fans following me, feel free to propose this to your people and make this happen. Just make sure I get to watch it.

The Wedding Plan Wiwa Square Spinoff Show Guests

With that in mind, I'd like to see an episode for the following pairs:

Sarawat and Tine

I just know that Tine is going to be the one they expect to be dramatic as hell, but it's going to be Sarawat freaking out about everything being perfect in a fantastic meltodown. We could have Lom talk to Sarawat and share how the closet affected both of them.

Teh and Oh-aew

Teh wanted to come out at the end of IPYTM, and wanna see the glam these two could pull off. I just know they're going to have an epic fight. This would be a good episode for Lom and Nuea to have a big fight.

Patts and Saengtai

Honestly, I want this episode because I feel like we didn't learn a lot about Patts beyond his relationships with Nara, his grandmother, and Tai. It would be a great chance to delve deeper into his character and see these two trying to communicate properly now that Tai is not holding back. These two also kissed really good, so this would be a good episode for Nuea and Lom to have a steamy moment.

Mork and Tawan

Let's be real: weddings are expensive. Mork's poverty was a huge part of his story in My Ride, and I think it would be really cool to see Wiwa Square work on a small budget for Cheep and Dej, Mork's gay uncles. It would also be an opportunity to talk about wealth and aging while queer.

See-eiw and Cake

The benefit of these two being friends to lovers is that their families saw how close they were the whole time. Despite the unfortunate PSA at the end of My Only 12%, this would be a great episode to focus on families around weddings. We'd get to see Cake's mom stepping in to fill the mom role for See-eiw, and this could be an opportunity for Lom's mom to reenter the fold.

Yang and Phumjai

We need a good episode for hijinks. The Love in Translation cast would be perfect for this. Yang is also Chinese, so we could focus on some cross-cultural traditions.

Charn and Tinn

I'm sorry, I just want Nawin to meet Neua. It also means Silvy could cameo. This would be an excellent episode for the side characters to take center again because they decide to keep Nuea away from Charn or something.

Phun and Noh

I just want White and Captain to get back together every few years and reprise these characters for little check ins. This episode would be a good time to talk about long-term relationships and their challenges with guys who are just a few years older than Neua and Lom.

Khai and Third

Speaking of White showing up in BL! I'd like to see Third struggling with his perfect wedding plans. This would be a great time to reflect on how weddings have been presented in media, and they could spin that either way by either leaning into the tropes or actively subverting them. That would be in line with the ToL goals.

Pluem and Kevin

These two had fantastic chemistry in Ghost Host, Ghost House. This could be a good episode to reflect on how weddings feel when some of our loved ones didn't get to live to see the day. I think this could be a really touching reflection on grief softened by how comfortable these two always manage to look with each other.

Pharm and Dean

I honestly don't think these two would have a lot of problems within themselves for the wedding itself. For this episode, we could really focus on wedding logistics. We could have something go really wrong with a caterer at the last minute and have Pharm step in to save his own wedding while Dean uses his connections to fix other things blowing up around them. This could be a good episode about Nuea and Lom having problems maintaining a good work-life balance.

Cairo and Gavreel

We need to do an international episode, and I'd like to see a crossover with The IdeaFirst Company in some way. Gav and Cai have been separated multiple times. I like the idea of them finally getting to marry at a destination wedding.

Shin Ki Tae and Lee Wan

I just wanna see these two again. This would be another international episode, and we could get back into some of the unresolved abandonment issues Shin Ki Tae is happening, and we could have a cross-cultural dialogue about making things right.

Im Han Tae and Han Ba Ram

Another international episode. They could use this episode to talk about the ongoing challenges of being a public figure and a star if these two are successful.

This was a lot of fun to think about! I really want this show now.

The Trope You Hate Except When It's "This Series": Forced Separation with a Time Skip Cherry on Top

Except when it's My Only 12%

This show. This show is the source of the majority of my beef with New Siwaj and yet, I love it beyond words. I really do. It's the third BL I ever watched and it has a special place in my heart. I don't know what the hell P'New puts in his shows that makes them hit like nothing else. I have to be in a very specific mood to rewatch this show but when I get into that mood, I have to rewatch it because nothing else will do.

Now let me just say, I truly and incandescently hate the forced separation trope, but it's so much worse when there's a time skip added in. When it's done poorly, it's usually because the writers wanted to throw in a last second conflict before the end of the show (usually in episode fucking 11) just so they can resolve it in five minutes in the finale. I hate it and it needs to die.

Even when it's not done poorly (because it's rarely done well) it's usually still frustrating and devastating. Like what did I personally do to deserve this? Someone is always going to study abroad or getting transferred abroad or making a deal with someone's disapproving parents or moving to the U.S. and going radio silent for FIVE YEARS GAO SHI DE WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON Y—

But! My Only 12% is the only show I've seen where the separation and time skip don't only work, but are necessary. I just really wish it had been done better.

As heartbreaking as Cake and Eiw's separation was—and fuck, it was brutal—I do really feel like it needed to happen. Eiw's entire universe revolved around Cake and his entire sense of self was tied to Cake. Eiw needed to grow and I don't think he would've been able to do so nearly as well if Cake and the comfort zone he provided were there for him to fall back on. Cake's absence didn't only give him the space to become a more self-possessed person, it forced him to become one, even if initially it was for Cake's sake.

Which is why I'm so sad we got to see so little of that separation, and therein lies my beef with New; if the show hadn't turned into an anti-smoking PSA and had everyone crying for the last two episodes, there would've been enough time for both the separation and for Cake and Eiw's relationship to develop after they got together.

Cake wasn't gone for even one entire episode! Yes the time skip needed to be condensed, but the four years they spent apart were an important part of the story! There needed to be more time dedicated to them. If they'd spent just one more episode with Cake and Eiw separated, we could've seen more of their development.

I wanted to see my sweet boy Eiw grow up and become more confident and make new friends and adjust to university. (I also wanted more of him and Title but that's purely selfish because I'm a Title Tanatorn girly and I can't believe I didn't get to see them kiss even once) I wanted to see Cake really coming to terms with the fact that he was always in love with Eiw and with his sexuality. I wanted to see him miss Eiw the way we saw Eiw miss him.

Their reunion would've ultimately hit that much harder and been that much sweeter if only we had been given a chance to really sit with their separation.

Not to mention that because the pacing was done the way it was and because we got the ending that we got, we only had like five minutes of Cake and Eiw's boyfriend era before everyone started crying! THAT IS CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR, NEW!

Y'all know that I mute and speed up my shows, so I didn't realize he was speaking English until the Thai subs kept coming up; then, I had to rewind and slow it down to hear it, so I could appreciate the cuteness. Jeng bringing out his multilingual side to confess AGAIN made him more adorable!

My Top Five Favorite Uses of Another Language in BLs!

My Only 12% - English

Cake was studying with his pals when he decided to call it a night. He went into his bedroom and apologized to his boyfriend Eiw for waking him up. Eiw told Cake he wasn't really sleeping well because Cake wasn't next to him, and that was all it took for Cake's heart-eyes to be activated. He kissed Eiw so tenderly only to then dedicate an ode to Eiw's entire body, mind, and soul all in English while kissing each part of Eiw's body as he praised it. What a king!

Never Let Me Go - Mandarin

I already thought that Palm liked Nueng's mean side a little too much before Wu and David wandered into Mam's bar, but this exchange solidified that Palm had a specific kink and Nueng was more than happy to offer Palm a helping hand a scolding insult. Nueng took great pleasure calling his boyfriend a fool in every language he knew including Mandarin, and I'm sure that is part of the reason Palm came around to Nueng extending his time abroad for schooling. The more education Nueng has, the more languages he can berate Palm in.

Unintentional Love Story - Spanish

The main couple were great, but I was showing up every week for Donghee and Hotae's friends-to-enemies-to-menaces plot because once they screamed at each other in the alley, the only reasonable next step was to sleep together, no? Maybe that's just me, but Hotae trying to prove to Donghee that he was serious about him by learning Spanish like one of the Hisstrange (Hispanic) men Donghee liked had me screaming, "SECOND SEASON WHEN?" which now I must patiently wait for to see how well Hotae's improves his language skills for his amor.

KinnPorsche - English

The VegasPete arc was a wild ride. They went from spying and torturing to crying and fucking in the span of two episodes, but what was the craziest moment of them all was when after sex and STILL CHAINED UP, Vegas turned to Pete and softly said, "Do you know how sexy you are?" Like . . . bitch, what?! Even crazier was Pete's apathetic response of "mmm" as if he had heard that line a thousand times after bringing countless men to their knees with his free therapy and snarky comebacks. Vegas served a lot of great English lines, but this one took the cake, and the tossed salad.

Moonlight Chicken - Modern Standard Thai Sign Language

Heart and Li Ming's story was already the sweetest thing since a nice mango sorbet on a hot day, but add in the fact that Wen, the bridge between Li Ming and his uncle Jim, was not only fully supportive of these two kids finding happiness within each other, but started to learn MSTSL so he could communicate with Heart was what pushed me over the edge. Heart's own parents couldn't be bothered to learn how to communicate with their son, but Li Ming's very-gay-uncle's boyfriend did. Wen knew he needed an ally to deal with these stubborn guys, and no better than the boyfriend of your-soon-to-be-nephew. Ghost Host, Ghost House gets an honorable mention for MSTSL as well.

KinnPorsche - English

Ken and Big were two bad bitches and the Regina George and Maddy Perez of Kinn's bodyguard squad. Big had his reasons for disliking Porsche like being jealous that the man he loved was in love with this idiot, but Ken just hated Porsche for being an idiot who upset the guy he was in love with (Ken x Big is canon to me), so when Ken yelled, "Are you fucking dumb, bro?!" at Porsche with Perth's Australian accent, I was cackling. It made me instantly think Ken was the mole because only someone who was rocking with Vegas "but this wasn't the fucking plan" Theerapanyakul could drop bangers like this.

This one was a perfect excuse to go look at about a hundred of this ‘fave ship dynamic’ drawings people did! I like to diversify my romance intake, and I’m easily pleased so I had a bit of a hard time picking.

I am gone for a good friends to lovers ship. When it’s well done, with all the angst of finding your feelings shifting, and the fear of losing what you have, the whole shebang?? I eat that up. We recently had a wonderful example of it with Kimi ni wa todokanai that I loved dearly.

I also think of Cake and Eiw in My Only 12%, or DNA says I love you (even if there is a lot of other stuff happening in this one).

Established couples ! I know romance mostly focuses on people getting together, but I have to say, I am a sucker for an established couple going through life – first coming to mind are Shiro and Kenji, from Kinou nani tabeta? (even if so far I only saw the first season, don't tell on me)

Other favorite are Maki and Haruta in Ossan's Love Returns, Park and Lee in My Secret Love, the Korean short film Secret Roommate. Even the boys in Don’t Say No, actually. I just like to see people navigating a relationship, be it early or late in the game, and all the domesticity that comes with it.

And I do love a good sunshine/grumpy pair, pretty classically, especially the ‘we are both hurt/traumatized’ flavor. One of my favorite pair is Korn and In from Until We Meet Again, my tragic lovers.

I’m also thinking of Nekoyashiki and Issei from Kabe Koji Nekoyashiki-kun desired to be recognized, Mitsuru/Koichi from Eien no Kinou (another tragic one), or Jiwoo/Seojoon from To My Star.

I know I keep choosing censored Chinese outings for this prompt but honestly is anyone doing it like them???? My other option was going to be PingXie from The Lost Tomb series. Listen, I did enjoy Where Your Eyes Linger, Never Let Me Go and KinnPorsche, but I'd argue the bodyguards in all of those series were not particularly good bodyguards lol

Oh good, I was hoping I would get another 2 so I could shout out my other FTL bl drama:

My Only 12%

I love them, your honor. This show does the trope right, with a nice helping of angst alongside all the cute moments between See-eiw and Cake both before and after they are a couple. I love how seriously the show takes the pain of falling for your friend, and how it reckons with the dynamics of this happening in a same sex friendship, in particular. This show is not in the bubble and See-eiw's feelings for Cake are all tied up with his sexuality, and this show treats that with the care it deserves. Now remember besties, when we watch this one we simply pretend the last two episodes do not exist.

Childhood Sweethearts

Ya know, I actually don't think we have any really great executions of this trope in genre. I think of childhood sweethearts as distinct from just the leads having a childhood connection (which is... most dramas) and more about a true lil kiddie romance that then becomes a real one in adulthood. Probably the best of the lot so far is...

Lian and Kuea in Cutie Pie. They were promised to each other young and the show is very much about them figuring out how to translate that promise into an adult relationship, and the show does a pretty good job of exploring the complications of that. I think my ideal version of this trope would not hinge on an arranged marriage construct, however, so I am still waiting for a show to come through with a more natural reunion for a pair of childhood sweethearts.

Haha back with more thoughts on the warp effect because it’s consumed me tbh. I want to preface by saying I’m IMMENSELY HAPPY that Jean POINT BLANK told Alex they would NEVER. never. NEVER. Get together in the 10 years future timeline. Because that’s FACTS. Sure if she could forgive him for HER OWN MENTAL WELL-BEING that’s different but to expect her to date him after that? Nah. Thanks Jojo. But I do find it interesting that basically the gift Alex’s bio dad gave him was to see, basically his existence? To live with regret over something that you did in the past and be unable to change it, and the ways it messed up/impacted other peoples lives, FOREVER. And sure some things can be mended (Alex’s friendship with Eiw and Nim, he helped fix problems. EVEN his bio dad attempted to be in his life later on) but some things NEVER CAN BE (Alex will never truly see him as a father, he never was able to apologize to his mom, alex impacted Jeans life FOREVER). Him going back to the past and hopefully changing everything is the only gift he could have gotten. And I like that. Idk this is rambles at this point LOL

i have finally finished my only 12% and if you saw me curled up crying on the floor no you didn't. some of the choices made in the show were so absolutely phenomenal i just have to talk about them (no matter how incoherent i may be)

i loved that the storytelling wasn't rushed. like desis like to say, itmenaan se batao, tell it with patience! it's very easy to make the show dragged out, especially when it's a slowburn romance, but i was still at the edge of my seat all the time! (except maybe last 2 eps but that says more about me than the show lol, if i start to rant about the father I'll never really stop)

in continuation of the above point, the choice to let the scenes linger a little bit longer after the plot point/conversation was over was so good! for example, literally every scene with the friends doing their basic kids nonsense! (bestest friend groups really <3)

that terrifying Eminem poster that gave me a jump scare everytime it was in shot ☠️ also the fleabag poster for some reason, in a show set in late 2000s/early 2010s!!! (i.e. make a show so good that even bizzare mistakes seem negligible)

speaking of the show's setting, oh such a core memory to see MSN, the flip phones, skype, that box windows computer, adding relationship statuses on Facebook, peak 2012. (im a sucker for nostalgia!)

i don't think i have to talk about how beautifully written CakeEiw's friendship was! them cuddling to sleep and Cake just spreading his arms for 'HUG! 😁', yeah. adorable

Eiw's discovery of his sexuality (with Love of Siam) and Hom being so supportive of him! im so glad Eiw had such a supportive family and friends! no matter how much of an 'other' Eiw felt like, no one near & dear to him let him feel like that and its SO important (snickering at the fact that Earth is older than Prem).

the entire America plot, omg, bawling. who hasn't had that friend who moved away, or who hasn't been the one to move away at some point? it was so well done, and all the scenes between CakeEiw post Cake telling Eiw that he's moving had such a bittersweetness to it, especially on the last day when they're promising each other sweet nothings! (kudos to the actors!)

Eiw saying that he's sad that he discovered his love for Cake but now he has to move away? KNIFE IN MY HEART! Eiw sniff kissing Cake and Cake coming back from the car to hug Eiw even tighter? NO PAIN

the letter/email style story telling in ep9 🤌 i love that they didn't go for the "they grew apart in the 3 years" or "one of them isn't replying" etc etc tropes because not only i don't like them but also it would be so out of character for them! and correct use of emerging tech!

love the confidence and the glow up for Eiw! he joined so many activities, making new friends, becoming part of the drama club, dresses like a fkn model, also got his hair dyed, GOOD FOR HIM

Cake in Blonde™! Him immediately begging his mum to let him see Eiw after getting back (in the middle of the night!). him crying and wiping his tears when Eiw hugged him at the bus stop. he's everything to me. Eiw repeating Cake's name on repeat and asking him to always respond? 😭

the enitre subplot of Pu & Tal wanting to be with Eiw was so funny to me skskskskks because have they seen CakeEiw together? one could be with their partners but would still feel like a third wheel in front of them. (and that's BEOFRE they officially got together) INSUFFERABLE

oh the post-show CakeEiw fight, & Eiw saying "Have you ever had to be the one who waits?" holt saying PAIN.gif. that entire confrontation/confession was so intense that i understand the choice to spread it out in between two episodes. and finally Cake saying "then i will be gay with you" had me laughing in the middle of all these tears he's such a best boy i love him dearly. (i was lowkey scared of the 'im not gay i just like you' making a comeback lol)

CakeEiw's relationship being written just as good (if not better) than their friendship!!!! the scene with "i love everything about you"? crying screaming shaking. Cake being basically a puppy? love that for Eiw

in conclusion, CakeEiw best boys and i miss them dearly and i want them back already

Twi: "Every time he’s in like a 50 foot radius of Por he goes full babygirl mode. The biggest heart eyes, the shy blushy cheeks, the soft voice that is both teasing and oh so whipped. He hangs off of every word that Por says (I’m talking about the last couple episodes of MSP plus the Our Skyy 2 episodes). He’s a normal competent wingman until a pretty boy smiles at him and then he becomes a puddle of goo. We know that Por is the better flirter between them, if Por actually called him baby, babygirl, princess, or something, I think Twi might have passed away."

i'm bad at picking favorites, but here are 5 that i love very dearly (in no particular order):

gun (my school president): of course, he's very cute and squishable, but that's not what i like most about him. the way he feels every emotion so intensely - so much so that it often overwhelms and/or frightens him - resonates with me a lot. it's been deeply healing to see him gradually open up to his loved ones about the feelings he harbors inside and for him to actively ask for and receive support from them.

palm (never let me go): my babygirl/babyboy (depends on my mood lol)!! i love how unfailingly kind he is despite being neglected and denigrated for much of his life. i always fall hard for characters with a strong sense of duty and devotion toward their loved ones (bbc merlin i blame you), so i knew i'd adore palm from the start. i'm also obsessed with pond - not just because he's pretty (which he is), but because he is so fucking real. he's a k-pop stan that wishes his idols a happy birthday. he is terrified of pigeons (just like me fr). he chose to study biomedical engineering because the name sounded cool. he says he is "an engineer who knows very little about engineering." in an interview, phuwin said every time he sees pond, he's either carrying a box of donuts or on his way to buy some donuts. see? Real.

pran (bad buddy): my beloved babygirl. one thing about me: i'm gonna kin a character who's been secretly pining for years. i also relate to his struggle with expressing his emotions more broadly (as evidence by all the emoticons in his room that aid him in doing so); as a kid, i actually had a door hanger very similar to pran's smiley/frowny face one that i would flip according to how i felt that day. i hugely appreciate the subtlety with which nanon portrayed his character.

cake (my only 12%): the bestest boy to ever exist?? i died every time eiw and him cuddled together. he is so caring and tender with eiw, even though he is painfully ignorant about eiw's feelings at first. i liked seeing the shift in his demeanor after the time jump once he had realized his feelings for eiw and started getting jealous. he's emotionally intelligent to recognize his possessiveness as something that's not fair to eiw but struggles realistically with those feelings nonetheless. and his love speech?? hands down the best one i've ever seen. "i love everything about you" shut up shut up shut upppp

akk (the eclipse): my poor repressed baby boy :(. the way he shoulders way too much responsibility and constantly blames himself for ruining things hurt me on a personal level. it was such a privilege to see him gradually open up and accept himself over the course of the series with the help of ayan and his friends. i cried when he came out to his parents; i was so happy for him. the glimpses of his playful side that we got to see were delightful! i hope we'll see more smiley akk in ourskyy2.

i'm not gonna dwell on the fact that all my faves are repressed little beans, hopeless romantics who pine in secret, and/or babygirls with issues expressing their emotions lmao.

the 'i love everything about you scene' in my only 12% is so special to me... cake pouring everything out in english is a nod to how things have changed for both of them, especially after they almost fractured after accusing each other of being different.

cake has pinned the differences on eiw and picked fights over it, but here he is acknowledging all the ways he's changed and all the things he's gone through that eiw never got to see happen.

but he does it as a reaffirmation of love, as an ode to eiw, and as a promise that his love is the one thing that's unchanging.

Thai BL Favorites List

Thank you for tagging me, @ellaspore! It has taken me a while to finish this, but if you’re making me choose this harshly between my favorite shows and characters, my choices have to be well thought-through. Which doesn’t mean I’m capable of narrowing down pretty much anything to just one per category, so expect me to cheat a lot here.

Favorite Thai BL: I have too many Thai BLs I love, and I don’t really have one favorite that tops them all, so let me use this chance instead to rectify the fact that I forgot about one important show when I was asked about my nine favorite shows last time: KinnPorsche. My beloved.

Current Obsession: I’ll go with Be My Favorite here. But I have to say, Laws of Attraction is climbing the ranks fast and, after only two episodes, I have just about reached the same level of obsession I have for Be My Favorite. I’m still on the fence about Hidden Agenda, but this could easily become a favorite too.

Favorite Pairing: Oh no. Don’t make me choose. This might honestly be the hardest question on this list. One of the first couples I thought of was Akk and Ayan from The Eclipse, but my heart is also screaming at me to say Kluen and Daonuea from Star in my Mind, or Tinn and Gun from My School President. I can’t possibly narrow this down even more, three is already too few. Can I skip this question? 👀

Most Underrated Actor: I don’t know if he’s underrated in general or I just personally underestimated him for the longest time, but Gawin is doing really, really well in Be My Favorite (I also substantially underestimated his singing abilities). Other than that, I’m really impressed by how phenomenally Film is portraying Charn in Laws of Attraction.

Favorite Character: No. I refuse to answer this. You can’t make me. Everything in me is hurting at the idea of choosing one. Let me just dodge this question by listing like the first dozen people that come to mind (my brain works in mysterious and non-comprehensible ways, just don’t question it): Gun (My School President), Akk (The Eclipse), Kluen (Star in my Mind), Jeng (Step by Step), Yai (Big Dragon), Mark (Love Mechanics), literally everyone from Moonlight Chicken, but especially Alan (he is the most understandable and human and complex antagonist I’ve ever seen, and it makes me insane). I said what I said.

Favorite Side Character: Honestly, right now I’ll give this to Tien from La Pluie. There are so many other incredible side characters that deserve to be here, but I’m particularly in love with him right now.

Favorite Scene in a BL: I have a particular obsession with this one scene in ep 10 of Never Let Me Go where Palm returns to Nueng and they reunite in that abandoned building and promise each other eternal love and support. It’s the look on Nueng’s face when he sees Palm that gets me—all that longing and hope and unadulterated happiness and relief of getting to see him again. Then there’s also this one scene in ep 8 of The Eclipse where Ayan is the most patient and loving person ever in trying to coax out Akk’s feelings, which leads to one of the softest kisses in BL history (in my personal opinion). Oh, and I also frequently rewatch the one in Not Me where White runs away from Sean after Sean finds out about the twin thing, and Sean says all hurt and in love and confused, “I don’t even know what your name is”, and White tells him, and Sean immediately repeats it and hugs him like he finally has the right to his real identity, to the real him, and he’s in awe. And the soundtrack, ugh, it’s so good.

Favorite Line in a BL: Cake saying “Nobody’s hurt just because we love each other” to See-Eiw in My Only 12%. That line struck me so hard. Oh, and Akk and Ayan telling each other they are allowed to be weak with each other in The Eclipse. The way they promised each other weakness wasn’t something to be ashamed of, ugh. And then there’s the end credits of 180° Longitude Passes Through Us saying (amongst other emotionally devastating things), “To you who call yourself a parent: you can only give birth to them, but you don’t own them.” The way I wept when I read that. This show tried to destroy me, and it succeeded.

Most Anticipated BL (& Why): Only Friends, which will come as no surprise to anyone who has talked to me about it. I trust P’Jojo with all my heart and I trust these actors to create the queerest, messiest story in GMMTV history or even Thai BL history.

Healthiest relationship in a BL: Oh, I’m also really tempted to say Tinn and Gun from My School President. And for a bit of an underrated relationship—Fuse and Ana from Future.

Most Toxic Relationship in a BL: Korn and Knock in Together With Me. Mostly because of how Knock treated Korn like he was disposable and only for him to play with.

Guilty Pleasure Series: I will not answer with Star in my Mind like you did, @ellaspore, simply because I do not feel even remotely guilty for the love I have for this series. I’ll go with Big Dragon, instead.

So that was a wild ride full of conflicting feelings. Thanks for inviting me to try this!
