Season 2 Bad Batch’s wardrobe change has so many fantastic implications:

I bet Tech quit wearing armor first, man literally never wore leg armor, I fully believe that he just walked off the Marauder one day in his cute little vest and ignored everyone’s stares

Wrecker probably got jealous though and was like “Hunter why can’t I not wear armor” except he literally doesn’t have any other clothes. So Omega is like SHOPPING!!

Echo, frankly, was concerned, but Omega was so excited about it that he just gave up

Hunter, at some point, saw a red scarf and was like “…I like this. a lot”

Finding clothes that fit Wrecker was like IMPOSSIBLE. Hunter tried doing the alterations but all the seams ended up crooked. They really missed Crosshair for that part

Shopkeepers kept asking Hunter, “Why are you buying clothes for your droid???” Which made Echo very salty, except the shopkeepers were usually so mortified at their mistake that they would give the batch a huge discount (“this is just Pantora all over again” “come ooooon, Echo, you’re really helping us out here” “fine, but next time, I am worth 60% off!!”)

Omega, again, was VERY excited (“I’ve never picked my own clothes before!”) and the boys definitely got carried away making sure she had EVERYTHING (“Omega, come here and pick out a raincoat” “Omega, do you have enough socks??” “Look, Omega, this is a nice sweater, you like sweaters, right??” “How fast are you gonna grow?? That’s it, we’re buying jeans in every size”)

Not that they didn’t customize their armor before, but now that they are dressing themselves in civilian clothes their own personal styles really come out. That is when they discover that Tech is actually extremely fashionable, and Hunter is literally a mountain hippie man

Okay but I genuinely want to hear your answer to this question I found on the confessions blog (with all the F/F ships you ship from this show).

buffy the vampire slayer is the only gay-burying mainstream network show i've watched but i'm gonna give this my best shot. put the ships in alphabetical order bc why not

betherra - could go either way tbh but im leaning toward beth simply bc sierra would go insane and try to destroy the world buffy the vampire slayer season 6 finale style

bridgney - it would either be bridgette for reasons mentioned above or courtney bc the show couldn't handle her sheer power and had to kill her off

courtnemma - again, emma bc courtney would destroy the world, or courtney to rip away whatever previous arc emma had of softening and opening herself up to love and to make her even more cold and jaded

dawnkota - dawn is 100% getting shot and dakota is in shambles but dawn comes back as a ghost with prophetic visions to further the plot. somehow she still never has a scene with dakota ever again

gwourtney - courtney bc the network would want you to sympathize with gwen over her. hardcore gwen fans would be like "my poor blorbo... so sad, all alone" and hardcore courtney fans would be like "SHUT UP MY FUCKING BLORBO DIED" and it would tear the gwourtney shippers apart

jasammy - sammy would so die. jasmine would grieve her for a while and eventually start dating shawn but it's done pretty well and they're a cute couple

jomaria - they would kill off jo and give anne maria a boyfriend the next season and it would suck

kadie - could go either way tbh

lesheather - leshawna bc every single season of td does her dirty. the backlash would be insane but some ppl would defend her getting shot bc it "gives heather a great arc" and the backlash to that would be even crazier. the show gets canceled halfway through the next season.

mkulia - mk bc julia has plot armor. julia would either go full villain or be devastated and all the other characters who hated her would start to feel bad for her and forgive her even though she doesn't deserve it and hasn't apologized, she's just grieving

nichaxel - nichelle so axel can go full angry paranoia doomsday prepper mode and everyone would use that as an excuse to bash her character

prillie - either priya gets killed to discourage millie from being vulnerable ever again or millie gets killed and priya tries to destroy the world but her friends talk her down and they all honor millie's memory together and it's actually really sweet

skyella - ella gets shot and says something like "but this was supposed to be our... happily ever after" and dies in sky's arms. next season dave tries to date sky while she's grieving and she attacks him for it. somehow they end up together in the finale. everyone hates it.

Hunter as a golden guard here doesn't wear a mask, he's the FACE of the emperor's coven, so Willow can come to an agreement with herself that he's pretty, Hunter can also agree, he also thinks himself is pretty (ok ok let's hypothetically say he has a crush on people with glasses named Willow, just a coincidence

The two doubt each other's intelligence a lot and end up acting like fools falling into the traps of their own ego, they're better in this regard when they rarely and unwillingly work together, two heads think better than just one in the end

The evolution of cute names: "Mistress Park" and "Whatever-his-name" -> "Dear Wilsy/Sweet Low" and "Golden guy" -> "Will" and "Hunt"

Willow knows his weaknesses, she uses the most cowardly of all against him............ compare him to a D O G. blindly loyal and following an owner who offers treats or approval pats if he does a few tricks. GOLDEN RETRIEVER!!!!! did u guys know that she gave him a cute dog collar as a gift? I think it's so rude that he never used it (I like to say as if everything is canonical 'cause in my mind it is). she calls him whistling and he goes to her with droopy ears only to say he's NOT a dog and then he leaves again, with a dramatic movement of his cape

Hunter's secret identity (WHO IS ThE MOST REBEL NOW, WITCHES!!!!!) flirts shamelessly with Willow, she knows it's him. why he's so dumb. his mask (NOW he uses) didn't disguise voice. "Caleb Jasper Bloodwilliams" here was his escape from the coven stuff, just being free and without responsibilities for a few hours, but it ended up becoming a little too "against the coven" when he discovered some things

"you can let me pay, it's just a kindness between old friends, don't worry" Hunter said and in the next day, while he was receiving a very direct death threat "YOU OWE ME ONE, I BOUGHT YOU COFFEE AND YOU THANK ME LIKE THAT??". a little emotional manipulation on both sides, how romantic 🥰

Three styles, three different life stages. 

First one: The Warrior Traveller’s ‘Fit 

Key Words: practical, medium weight, no-fuss, dark tones 

This is what I imagine Brosca looking like after the Joining ritual and for a good part of the game. The beginning of her journey is all slashing, crippling, and traveling on foot, so I needed to get her a look that is functional (allegedly) and with no frills. I needed to make a mishmash of in-game armor parts to get something I could picture her wearing for real. 

It could have been worse, 3/5 stars.

Second one: The Fereldian Court Jester 

Key Words: cheap elegance, military influences, brighter colors, poofy

The special occasions look. You can see her wearing this on a diplomatic encounter with the Arl or during a war council with her allies on a cold winter day in Ferelden. I needed to elevate a basic tunic + pants + boots combo by adding more details and faking a more refined fabric for the blouse. I wanted to play on the contrast between modest and expensive, but it was my greatest goal to make her look a bit on the gaudy and tacky side. Being classy is not her forte. 

2/5 stars, but bonus points for trying to look the part. A generous 3/5 stars score.

Third one: The Seasoned Veteran 

Key Words: subtle patterns, better fit, souvenirs, mismatched armor

She’s a grown-up now. She’s a Commander, she’s a Paragon, she’s an Icon, she’s a Legend, she’s the Moment (not really, but still). Instead of letting her go full-blown diva, I let her crawl back to her roots. The tunic + pants + boots combo is her uniform, and you won’t catch her wearing anything else, but this time you can find new and old elements added to it. I picture her collecting and looting trinkets, materials, fabrics, and pieces of armor around Thedas, and combining them with what she already owns. She doesn’t fight that much at this point compared to her Blight days, so she skips on the medium armor. 

It’s nice, it’s cute, but it could have been better. 3/5 stars.

Closing the Book on Fashion Forward! (Mini Review+Personal Story) Post #5

[Previous Post]              [First Post]            [TrendSetter] Yes, yes, I'm aware, this is the 3rd “I've finish Style Savvy FF" post! But This time it's for real, I completed the (spoilers) event, and I've even transferred my save off the emulator for long-term storage on the game cart! [My adventure spanned from 11/04/23 - 12/26/23]

Here are my last few outfits! (mini-review to follow!)

Overall, had a ton of fun with this game! It was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in years. But it was not without it's hiccups, the most obvious being how events are handled, At times you'll have to wait for the correct person to pop-up to progress the plot, and sometimes they just refuse to show up. The Real time clock is a neat addition, with a season system for fashion shows, shop inventory, and for some slight weather features. it's FAR less strict than in games like animal crossing, but it can make unlocking some content really annoying, since you have to wait a real-world day for shops to refresh, and some in-game locations are locked out for different based on the time. But it by no means hampers you from enjoying the game's core loop. (Nigh owls rejoice) I could also complain about unlocking colors and hairstyles and makeup, as they all feel pretty random without a guide. But again these are all just extra. The core gameplay loop of managing inventory, designing outfits, and matching style to your customer was absolutely top notch! Even on my last day, I ended up coming with at least two new ones when I thought I'd exaused all options. The only snag with this, is after a fashion show, everyone will get excited about the theme, and will demand that you only make outfits in that specific style for multiple days afterwards, so that can get a little repetitive. But other than that, the core designing has been more fun than I thought possible! (Personal story relayed to SS, after the break!)

Alright, well since this will be my last post for a little while, (I'll take a short break before starting trendsetters) I figured I'd talk a little about why Style Savvy means soo much to me. (It's SUPER long, and get's a little personal, but you've been warned!) In short, I've always been a bit self-conscious about how I present myself in games. I'm a guy, and generally only play as guy characters designed to look as much like me as possible, Not because it's more 'immersive', or that that's because I'm most comfortable with, but because it would mean less 'uncomftable questions' from others, Yet I'd still get comments such as "that doesn't look like you", why'd you choose that.. weight/height/ hairstyle/skin tone/etc, that's not accurate"!

And that, mixed with many offhanded comments about how others chose to dress their characters, (and the possible reasons why they chose 'a specific outfit', applying a negative connotation to even the idea of a guy playing as a female character) It kinda enforced in my mind, that even wanting to play as a cool, cute or even sassy female character was just creepy in some way. So for a long time, I just avoided it my making all my main characters as close to myself as possible, but even having a female side/alt directly based of an existing TV show/game character would still cause some sarcastic remarks, so I just stopped using them in any multiplayer games, and stuck with my main. Eventually i stated playing Final Fantasy XIV and made my standard character, but the friend that introduced me to the game decided he had no interested in playing the start of the game again, and the few others I planned to play with were always busy, so I decided to make a female side character, and came up with a design I liked and ended up playing as them a lot, while waiting for others to be free. In Final Fantasy, I picked up crafting, and started making my own armor and clothing, and for the first time, I was actually designing outfits for an original female character! and began really enjoying the various outfits I could make, and mixing pieces for new looks It still felt kinda weird, I'd never cared about how other people designed or dressed their characters, but it still felt 'wrong' for me somehow, (Like I was enforcing my own will on them, deciding how they dress. as silly as it sounds) The compromise was making a few alt characters, giving each a style an personality, and just sticking to only designing within "what they would actually wear"

That allowed me to be much more comfortable designing in various styles, but I still felt a little weird making specific styles, as I was worried about how it would be precived by other players. ...And eventually 'Fashion Dreamer' released it looked interesting, looking it up online introduced me to 'Style Savvy', So I gave Fashion Forward a Shot, and fell in love with the game. It let me designed outfits my and other characters, but removed all the previous sources of anxiety! I did not have to worry about anyone else's feelings, no one in the game cared about who I was or how I looked in real life, I was not taking away anyone elses control, they decide they want to look cute/cool/feminine, and I'm just helping them achieve their goal. I could look however I want, and it would never bother anyone or make them feel uncomfortable. The people in the world were all very nice and friendly, and while they may be fake, the positive improvement the game has had on my live has been very real! The game may not be a teaching tool, but I still feel I've learned a fair bit about the basics of fashion and outfit customization. and I feel more confident in not just my designs, but how I feel about making characters in general! ...I mean to a point. I did completely redesign my avatar when I started posting here, as I was worried about what people would think, of my working with an avatar that appeared to be of a different race, ....despite me never posting any IRL pics... ...But, baby steps, I have to start somewhere! I love the cut, I love the fashion they established in the Reach through the new cut, I love her long flowy hair making her look prettier but also kinda ~sultry and wild~ to appeal to Joffrey, I love the little belt thing too. It’s pretty, it fits the Tyrells, it fits the look Margaery is going for.

7. JON’S KING FIT

*kit voice* i like the wolf bit. aksjd. i really do love that Jon has the direwolf sigil on his gorget but Robb and Ned don’t - shows Jon is just a little unsure of his Starkiness too, and trying to emphasize it. I also love that they gave him a manbun, he really channels Sean Bean’s long hair even with his curls.

WORST DRESSED: DAENERYS IN QARTH

This girl has never served once in her life but this one was the worst. Why is that bit in the kiddle sticking out. Why is that purple going down between her legs. Why do those colors clash so bad. the whole thing is so bad and it looks funky to move in as evidenced by how deeply awkward Dany looks in it, when she moves much less awkwardly in her other more notoriously ugly outfits. Just bizarre choices all around here.

6. BRAN STARK THE LITTLE LORD

I know i’ve talked about how gorgeous the gorget is, but I also love that he’s wearing his fish pin. I think it’s cute that like Sansa, like Ned in the books, Bran is taking care to LOOK the part when he has to take on responsibility, and wants his mother’s house to be on display alongside his father’s. Considering we see him play with the pin, I wonder if it was a gift from Catelyn or if it straight up IS Catelyn’s that he just took when she left. Anyways, both look really good with his longish hair, and I loved his bangs in early seasons because they are always slightly greasy, and it reminds you how young Bran is (he don’t wash his hair well, like a lot of little kids!)

5. CERSEI LANNISTER ARMORED DRESS

the reason this one is imo superior to the other ones is because of the practicality of the fit. There’s a lot here gender & character wise, from the way her hair is done in a much more “soft feminine” way to the literal armor she’s wearing to set herself apart, the insistence on Lannister Colors Wlways, the silhouette is gorgeous and it just looks REALLY GOOD but! Considering she’s worried about them losing & plans to herself and Tommen over being captured, to focus on both her femininity to make her seem more weak while putting her in armor to make her seem strong, but giving her an outfit and hair style she can RUN in, she can DIE in, kicks it up into faves for me.

4. JOFFREY BARATHEON ARMOR

I love how he’s allergic to Baratheon colors & symbols, I love the crimson being used here, i love how ornate the armor is, I love how he has to have that gold and crimson pattern he loves even in battle on the bottom. Jack’s makeup is really well done here too, the black around his eyes makes him look small & petulant.

3. CERSEI’S REVENGE DRESS

The black/perpetual morning angle, while also evoking the Targaryens. The shoulders and ornamentation modeled off Tywin. The fuck ass bob. Really solid look that’s grounded in Cersei as a character & where she is emotionally, and it’s got a great silhouette. Cersei has other, more popular outfits but in my opinion, it’s her best fit in the show because it tells the entire story of her character up to this point, AND it looks good AND it even fits the more over the top style George likes with the gorgeous silver ornamentation.

SO CLOSE - Sansa’s Northern Furs

It’s the necklace. I hate that ficking necklace it ruins the whole look. It’s ugly, it clashes with the top, the bottom of the chain is so random, it tanks every single Sansa outfit bc it sticks out so bad. At least make it black iron or something why is it so silver.

2. Arya’s Ned Stark homage

I’ve talked about it before so I won’t go on too long but I love LOVE the way tbis outfit is like Arya Realized, Arya’s Final Form. Being able to model herself off her father, having Needle around her hip, really leaning into a style that looks good and looks practical, and fits her well. Not trying to pass as a boy, as Cat, as No One, as Nan, but being fully ARYA STARK.

Once again, I want this on my body. The sleeves, the front layering, the design, the COLOR. The way it evokes the prince of dragonflies & jenny of oldstones aesthetic!!! I love how much she looks her age here too - it’s not too revealing, it’s not too grown up, but it’s not too simple either, it’s perfect for a maiden. also bonus but i love shae’s dress i think it’s really underrated. i love how it matches most of the stuff in Sansa’s wardrobe, I love that her personal style is like “upscale peasant” and i love the layers that seem to keep her warm as it gets colder. they look so adorable sitting next to each other, justice for the shae/sansa relationship!!!

What were your highlights of the trailers?

in no particular order

1) AEGON!!!! I was very surprised by how much he featured in the trailers. i had the inkling aemond would feature more heavily because he's the usual fan favorite but i loved that they really took the time to show more of less what aegon will be and do next season. loved his scenes with alicent and larys (!!!!) and i loved seeing him have almost complete autonomy and make decisions! i want him to get worse and this showed me a lot of promise. i'm still a bit ambivalent about the new wig because i liked the other one, but nbd.

2) Larys. a lot of torturing and spies this season which means a lot of larys too! i've been heheing too close to the sun by imagining how the aegon/larys dynamic was going to be but i had no hope of even seeing a little bit in the trailers. silly me because he was there!!! surprised by them having a mini arc beginning from the end of b&c to before & after rook's rest. also a new still of larys was so great for me personally because he was styled v differently from the usual.

3) Baela. Baela riding moondancer and fighting (?) at rook's rest as a foreshadowing for her fight with aegon later. SICKKK. her wigs and rhaena's (and rhaenyra's!) were also better so it's was a big highlight for me. more screentime for my girl!

4) Jace. I imagined he would be in the trailer for the stark nostalgia and he was, but i liked the parts where he was mommy's little diplomat in the dinner with the other dragonseeds. i was half afraid he was not going to be included but i'm glad he is. seated next to addam nonetheless!!!!! another win for my jaceaddam agenda. we also saw hugh and ulf and baela directly in front of jace soooo cute.

5) daemyra failmarriage. no daemon on luke's funeral scene nor in the dragonseed dinner. he's obviously in harrenhal and i think we see him in maegor's tunnels (?). they are soo cooked i love them. rhaenyra also looked v stern and passionate which is good because i was also ambivalent on showing her completely destroyed by luke's death like in the book. daemon looked so hot ngl i love daemon in armor so much.

6) the bracken twink taking on four blackwoods at the same time. my family!!!

TLDR: If devildom had traditional clothing in the past, what type of region of the world would inspire their traditional clothing for style?

Since it’s been revealed in NightBringer, lesson 14, that before the world was named the Devildom and before the first Demon King, there was a Fairy king that ruled over the land. Which before the Devildom had its buildings and it’s castle, it was first covered by forest (this info was from season 2). So the (future king) demon tricked the Fairy King to drink its blood which made them go into a deep sleep, thus creating the first demon king or so that’s how the legend goes. AND it’s been stated in NB lesson 15 from thirteen, that rumors said that Barbatos has been around before Devildom was even form and Thirteen also mentions that Solomon has said that Barbatos has popped up in ancient documents and he is at times is mention under different names. SO what happens Barbatos was the demon that “poisoned” the Fairy King, and he was the first Demon King but he was somehow kicked out so he decide became a servant to reclaim his throne but ended up getting attached to Diavolo Jk Unless 👀

Since Barbatos is most likely to be around for a long freakin time, Pre-Devildom and Devildom time, what type of style or traditional clothing would he or other demons be wearing? Like we get a statue version of what the Fairy King is supposed to look like and have an idea of what the past is suppose to be wearing, but Ngl it bland 💀 (also do the fairy king sleep upwards???💀)

Alright so a prime example of like ancient civilization traditional period clothing thing for for their over world would be Tears of the Kingdom from Legend of Zelda: (which is also the reason the idea popped into my head lol)

Common features: similar color palette of earthly tones, white pine cones shape with number 2 and 3 and the right image of the steward (the stewards r so cute 🥰) , etc etc

In Conclusion: they have the same feel of the same time, so I was wondering if the Devildom has an “traditional clothes” that was commonly worn when the Devildom was being established, what exactly would it look like? I would love to draw an idea up, especially since Barbatos was possibly around doing the time, and dress up the boys (and thirteen even if she isn’t a demon).

Yes I’m aware that it has been stated and implied in the game that their demon form is the best formal/respectfully outfit they could wear, but I like the idea of the beginning of the Devildom having “traditional clothing” 😩 (also do the outfits change over time when it comes to the demon form or do they remain the same? Like Barbs wearing the same demon outfits since the beginning, I just don’t see it, it’s way to modern💀💀)

However how much I would love to attempt to make “traditional clothing” for the Devildom I have no idea wear to start, like what type of style they would go for, I know their demon form is meant to represent them, so it doesn’t give me much to go off, on making traditional wear and I do want each traditional wear to have their own pizazz, but similar style. So I’ve tried thinking of all the Devildom traditions like holidays to give me a type of theme to go off by, but like most of the time the events would either be RAD related or like human world events.

HOWEVER (the sequel) I think the best vibe or color scheme for the Devildom traditional wear would have to be this outfit from TOTK again Lmao

Sorry for the low quality I couldn’t find a decent quality, it’s called Gloom Resistant Armor if you want to look it up for better quality. But this roughly what I was thinking in color palette however I don’t mind hearing about other ideas as well.

I saw a clip of Pretty Cure talking about one of the characters causally being brutal as fuck and I gotta say, it's kind of amazing. I'm still half expecting the Sailor Moon approach where the violence is more... PG? Like, someone is evaporated with pure, concentrated friendship in a haze of brilliant, prismatic light.

Wild to see a magical girl straight up kick someone into the stratosphere and curb stomp them half way to the center of the earth in a cute skirt and heels.

Kinda wish their transformations looked a little less like blatant advertisement for cheap, plastic toys but it's kinda baked into the genre so... What can you do?

Side note, my favorite transformation is the first... Season or so of this one where they have those little clamshell clackers? And that clack them together to transform in parts, totally bullshit later seasons have like, a hairdresser apron or whatever. Can't recall what anime it was, only saw clips of the transformations. But they were like, ridiculously young to be fighting anything. Gotta be middle of grade school at the oldest and certainly looked it. I can totally see young me dancing to the transformation. Very satisfying.

Anyway, tangent over in a tangent post lol, it just reminded me of a very funny explanation for the flowery, ridiculous magical girl stuff. Like, mostly based on Sailor Moon with the reincarnation and whatnot, but basically the utopia they originally came from had to be like... Fucking bored by the end of it.

I mean, an eternally peaceful kingdom with seemingly immortal folks running around?

I like the concept of a kingdom like that, that's so far beyond being challenged that their whole military might just got... Fucking weird. Like, Sailor Uniform styled outfits is totally a good idea in any fight kind of weird. Short skirts and high heels with glitter eyeshadow and unattainable hairstyles. And it's entirely created from this boredom because of how much magic it takes to make all of that. So it's a status symbol that you didn't NEED real armor to kick ass with a silly little heart wand and pink light ribbons swirling about.

None of it is practical cause its all backed by magic and the fact that it works is a damn FLEX. It's also weirdly ominous that if they ever decided to stop wasting magic on cute skirts and makeup, all that power would be freed up to vaporize you from orbit. The transformation burning off excess energy made in the process of creating their uniform.

To the point that it's fucking normal.

I wanna see magical girls in ridiculous regalia going up against your most basic looking wizard (supreme whatever whatever, strongest of all time as you'd expect) and getting trounced. Utterly body slammed. Every inch of their clothes is made of pure magic and this wizard dude can only just manage to channel forces beyond mortal minds through an ancient staff and poetic stanzas. He doesn't understand at all until he actually looks at them and realizes they've basically poured the equivalent of the big bang into their skin and all those overpowered attacks was just run off. The literal dregs of what they call upon with cute dances and catch phrases.

I like to imagine if they totally mastered it, they can transform without any pomp, just literally walking forward as it all flashes away in sparkles and energy, forming their normal suit or perhaps a stronger version. No need to bring a claymore to a knife fight normally, right? Besides, the dance is fun! Have a little bit of levity, won't you?

They've utterly mastered magic to the point that it's not even a thought or question that they're so wasteful. A product of a long gone, decadent society destroyed through their own hubris and misfortune. Looped back from masters to novices once more, just figuring out what twirly dance can defeat the creature of the week.

It's ridiculous BECAUSE the kingdom that made it was ridiculous and bored. Show off and wasteful of what their own ancestors struggled for decades to master a fraction of. Talent and skill decayed for the UwU vibes because there was no god left to kill.

Ahsoka was originally supposed to wear a knee-length pleated skirt and a tank top at the beginning of TCW. Her original design is so cute, she looks like a ballerina, which fits her graceful and acrobatic fighting style. Running around in a tube top and mini skirt (aka Bikini Armor) while all the male Jedi are covered up from neck to toe is jarring aesthetically and definitely A Choice, and I think somebody must have realized just how silly this is because she got more normal clothes in the later seasons.

So I drew my own version of what I think Ahsoka would wear on missions/during battles during seasons 1-2.

Here is the inspiration for Mimi - though I do not see her as WoL. The MSQ happens to me completely out of touch with her as a character. So it is more an "OC inspiration" than an "WoL inspiration".

And I probably have to explain some of that. We will go from top left to down left, then we will go from top right to down right:

Top Left: Taiga Aisaka (Toradora!) - Let's face the elephant in the room right away: Taiga is probably one of the most famous tsundere and I might be a little bit (just teeny-tiny bit!) influenced by that, because "Toradora!" is my favorite anime. In my defense, when I saw the anime for the first time it was after I created Mimi. Also there are several things that are completely different between Taiga and Mimi. Mimi is not cute, nor a rich daughter and not a high school student, of course. So they are different characters. But the grumpy "I have to glare my way through life" attitude and also the fighting style matches, as well as the grumpy outside and soft even caring inside. The parallels are there and it would be an absolute lie if I said Taiga would not inspire some of Mimi's traits. Because Taiga is exactly how I like my characters to be: complex and layered.

Middle Left: Agent Sameen Shaw (Person of Interest) - And we continue with another angry and tough woman! Agent Shaw might be a spy, a skilled assassin and a sociopath - three things Mimi is not. But she is blunt and direct, has a "no shit" attitude and does not back down from a fight. She cares more than it seems to be, she is simply hiding it. Also she has some really strong glare available as her weapons. Posture, stature and even her face - that's really close to how I imagine Mimi to be. By the way, "Person of Interest" is an amazing and totally underrated show.

It is not that big of a leap, right? Astrid is competitive, angry, but also has a soft and caring side. Also the dragon riding stuff inspires me again and again for the chocobo racing.

Top Right: Ardeth Bay (The Mummy) - Maybe less his character in way of inspiration, but his clothing and aesthetics. Especially when I created Mimi's armor glamor I tried to go into the Medjai direction and Ardeth helped a lot with that. Also the horse riding combat from "Mummy Returns" is exactly how I imagine Mimi would fight on her chocobo - or back in the Sagolii. It might not be the most authentic aesthetic, but Thanalan aesthetics is fictional anyway, so I simply take this now and again for aesthetic inspiration.

Middle Right: Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) - Mimi is definitely not a scholar or a tomb raider. But she is a survivor. And that is what I loved so much about the Tomb Raider remakes. Lara Croft stumbles and falls, but always gets up. She is tough. She is a fighter. She does not give up. That's Mimi. Right there! Even with a bow as a former Sagolii huntress. Mimi is like a nasty and annoying weed you want to pull out of the ground, but you cannot. Because as soon as you pull it out, it will simply grow back. And that's because Mimi is a rebellious and defiant little survivor, never really giving up.

Down Right: G'kar (Babylon 5) - Some of you probably will ask: Who the f*** is that? And I will answer: One of the best written characters in any tv show. Babylon 5 is still to this day one of my favorite tv shows and G'kar has such an amazing character development through all the seasons. It is simply an amazing journey leading up to such amazing moments. This character is inspiring in different ways: First, I love well-written character developments. Not retcons, but really a chain of events affecting the character and making them grow or fall. G'kar is in my opinion the best example for such a thing. Second, G'kar has some deep anger, is highly emotional and empathetic. I highly doubt Mimi will ever get to the point of G'kar, where she has conquered her anger and will be at ease with herself - finding peace. But, who knows? I am a sucker for character's developing over time. Mimi from several years ago is certainly different to Mimi nowadays.

The Swallow of Novigrad remains original love and where it all began. There are parts that I don't think work today and the pacing is a bit erratic (especially the ever increasing chapter lengths) but I love the themes and am still very proud I made it hang together and it still has sme of my very favourite scenes.

2. The Sins of Fathers gets moved down simply due to having trhe audacity of not being finished. But it is a more complex story, deals with more chacaters and will, hopefully, be better paced. Also I'm writing romance, who would'eve thought.

3. Where Paths lead. I've alwasy been in awe of peopel who can tell full epic drams in under 10k words so I was very happy with this one. Not that there is much happening, its very much a slice of life fic with some romance and food porn thrown in. But it is very cosy, the corvo bianco family are my entire heart and Eskel doesn't get enough love.

4. The Queen Who Never Was (but once). it probably suprises no one that I am a massive GRRM fan (though of course he has his flaws). So playing around in this universe was great, as well as railing against some of the dafter plot points of HOTD first season (still a good show though). And the foreshadowing, references to canon and mythos and of course, people plotting, that I could weave in were great fun and I love how it all came together. It got me to experiment with different writing styles to. Also, Rhaenys has my whole heart,

5. Let me be your armor is a small fic for my smallest fandom but still its very cute and love all the character appearances and how it handles the main characters relationships. Also it has Trebuches whats not to love?
