Different kind of Avians, and lore

Lore

Humans are dumbasses who wanted to kill all of the Avians

Thing called "The Unsettling" forced the Original Avians (Ancestors?) to flee.

Different Avians went to different places, since they're a highly adaptable species.

Humans burned Avians with fire.

Original Avians - Also known as "Ancestors"

Rumoured to have been completely massacred and/or fled and changed to become a different subspecies

Is actually still a genuine species- they're just far more stealthy, and far stronger.

Wings and tail and resemble different birds.

Live in flocks, with a Pastor as their leader.

Ignis - Fire Avians

After The Unsettling they left to an island that humanity has not touched

Can control fire to a degree

Are practically made of fire- their SOULs let off flames

Higher-than-normal body temperature

Extremely territorial

Live alone, but are stronger than Ancestors.

Cosmos - Space Avians

After The Unsettling they broke all possibilities and left to the stars

Mainly solitary creatures

Made up of literal stardust

Very pretty

Wings and tail covered in stars and nebulae

Have their own magnetic fields, gravity, and atmosphere.

Their SOUL is their CORE- and is referred to as their "CORE"

Different Cosmos have different kinds of atmosphere- not all are human-inhabitable, so don't get too close until they've told you you'd be fine

Break through other planet's atmosphere when they enter it, often letting a small amount of solar radiation peek through.

Can fly faster than the speed of light on the "Stellar Currents" of space

Tend to live around the edge of black holes

Also uh. Are technically immortal. Murder-able, but won't die until something takes them out.

Territorial, live in schools

Can still fly

Has some degree of water manipulation

You don't see them until too late

Durarath Deities - Primal Forms

A bit of a deviation from our previous Elden Ring content, some design work for a personal worldbuilding project!

In Order of Images:

Eyaer, the Sky (He/Him) Hague, the Earth (He/Him) Vágr, the Sea (He/Him)

The Deities of Durarath are beings of the world elements themselves given physical form, Sky, Earth, and Ocean.

For the most part, they maintain a smaller, humanoid form for engaging with mortals or daily affairs, but in their nature is the raw, untamed, fury of the elements in its' purest forms.

When emotions run rampant, or they are forced into a position of war, they may unconsciously, or consciously, enter what is known as their "Primal Form", this being their unbridled power of their element unleashed.

These forms as depicted above are mere approximations of their features, as their true Primal Forms nature becomes something bordering on unfathomable.

Eyaer, the Sky, for example, becomes the wind around one's body, the clouds overhead, the lightning in the distance, the voice of thunder, every bird and wing-beat, the breath in one's lungs, all at once, but separate. Both wielding six wings that reach across the horizon and can be perceived by mortal eyes, but at the same time melding into the clouds and air.

The Primal Forms are not meant to be beheld by Mortals, often causing extreme emotional and mental duress when seen from their quasi-manifestations of their nature.

Mortals can often recall elements of these forms, Hague's burning hair, Eyaer's beaked helmeted face, Vágr's black serpent body, but often their recreations in art and tales pale in compare to truly existing in the presence of a Primal deity.

For Eyaer and Vágr, these forms were used during the God's War, against each other, but upon reaching a resolution, both swore never to embody their forms again for the destruction it would cause the Mortals. Hague himself has never entered his Primal form, slow to anger, the most placid of the deities, his emotions have never ran high enough to invoke it.

lotta these are from my old tablet

1st- The song "Sleep" by MCR, with Celeste. From an older version of the "Of Heaven and Mortal" story, where Polaris leaves on purpose and Celeste's pissed about it. Bonus points that Celeste is a dream god!

2nd- Designing every single warrior cat (tm). May get back to this may not. I used a base, to which i have no idea who made it or where i got it from, since its from my old tablet (which is like 7? 8? years old at this point)

3rd- Cold Island Theme from My Singing Monsters, ft. Celeste (the constellation), Strawberry (pink dragon bleeding), and Quetz (wind god, at the bottom protecting strawberry). Later in the "Of Heaven and Mortal"/"Of All and None" storyline, where Celeste drives Strawberry insane. ;)

4th- Random concept doodle, from "Of Sea and Gale", supposed to be a close friend of Samuel's when he lived in the Wind Kingdoms royal palace. The friend had a masssssive crush, as ya do, but nothing comes of it

5th- "Animal" by *repeat repeat. Tord (red cat) manipulating Tom (grey/brown cat) into killing Edd (green outlines...). Forget what the motive was but Tord is de-clawed, and hey, cool poses. And gayness. Always a win.

6th- Another random doodle, made when i was watching demon slayer (specifically the Mount Natagumo Arc). Extravagant for no reason. Just the way i like it.

7th- "Love, Love, Love" by Of Monsters and Men. Ft Marquis (white one) and Holly (purple one). Among us ocs turned furry! Who'da thought. Marquis wants to show Holly all the love in the world but she isn't ready. (Their refs are in this post, if any of you remember)

8th- Was supposed to be a companion peice to Mushroom. "Chicken", as i delightfully call him, was gonna be a sort of opposite/complementary cat to Mushroom, a right-hand man of sorts. Why Chicken? Cause mushrooms taste like chicken. Anyway,

9th- "Grapes" by James Marriott. Tom was supposed to be in this peice, saying the line "I fell for someone new, but she's just another girl that looks like you!", buuuut i could never get how he looks right. So now its just Tord who looks like a spider just jumped out at him.

10th- This meme. But with TomTord. And Jon. Because i cannot help myself. Not Jons final design for the AU, but hey, good first attempt :). Tord and Jon are friends in the AU!

11th- SNOWTUFT!! HIM!! DA BOY!! I just wanted to draw him, honest. Ig some design notes/headcannons, his claws aren't naturally long- he just underuses em, so they're overgrown. He cant really see out of the scarred eye and ear, an perfers to keep his eye closed. Very expressive lil man. Yowls for attention

I remember the noise sounded something like a whale song. Almost mournful, with a pitch that cut through me to my very core. My feet had shuffled forward on their own accord, and before I realized it, I was precariously peering over the edge of the cliff face.

A bit less well known, the Brandt's Cormorant!

Perhaps a bit debatable to be put on this blog, the Brandt's Cormorant (Phalacrocorax penicillatus) is a seabird with shiny, weakly iridescent (perhaps even just glossy/shiny, but that's for you to decide and not why it's on here) feathers and a patch of blue, shiny skin (?) on its neck that's used to attract a mate. Also, its scientific name is from its quills that appear on its back during mating season. Its courting ritual is also kind of elaborate if not also kind of silly. It bends its neck backward, almost as if it does not have bones there and flares up its wings, exposing the blue patch. Look it up!
