....hey so i know it's been a while since I updated the LB7 rewrite but I just remind everyone that Xbalanque is in it and can basically be summed up as "Taiga's equivalent to Edgya"
I wonder why Taiga got a rank up. Wait why's EMIYA Alter trending
Oh OH no

How come you dislike SERAPH
BB is completely sidelined.
Melt is utterly unrecognizable from her CCC counterpart. That's a necessary choice to make the twist of her having already romanced Fujimaru and looped before, but the reveal of her having so much offscreen development that we'll never learn about fails to compensate for how egregious her overall screentime was because it hits like wet paper.
Kiara is at her least nuanced ever (god, Andersen's absence is so tangible).
Emiya's background only got properly communicated years later with the manga.
The Seraphix background provides no one to care about.
Lip's post-CCC growth is a lot more natural than Melt's but she's still decent at best.
Suzuka is generally fun but not explored here.
The Round Table guys are Round Table guys.
The only thing I remember Tamamo Cat saying is the racist joke about Emiya.
So tallying it up, we get to a grand total of... (drum rolls) 0 good characters in the chapter. This number could be better.

I am with other Hakuno enjoyers in the idea that they should use a stand but I personally propose said stand should be this guy

He's only in it for about 3 pages, but try and look up Siegfried in the fgo CCC manga. It was chapter 4 (1 page with Georgios) and chapter 11.2 (2 pages), respectively.
But the latter does highlight why archers and assassins are his worst enemy. Though benefit of the doubt, that copy of him was under exhaustion from constant fighting in that hellhole.
And it does give me an idea about Robin in Chaldea giving Siegfried hints about all the openings he's giving for archers like Robin without thinking in a single duel. A single twinge of deja vu on Siegfried's side, and Robin's asking him if he's trying to die, having won the duel by touching his back with his unarmed hand while Siegfried was distracted with a resurfaced memory from another copy of himself.
Later, Robin's hints help save his life during a run in an archer/assassin heavy mission while guarding his master. Just an idea.
(Don't worry Anon, I was asleep when you first sent this in, it's all cool 👍)
I did check out which pages you mentioned
(if I ever decide to do a remake of the "which official artist has done your favorite Siegfried" poll I should add this one too)
Also, your idea is making me go 👀.
#ask#I honestly didn't know that the Dragon Slayer Dragon Hubby appeared in the FGO CCC manga#but I guess it would make sense considering the plot of SE.RA.PH#(and he did also appear as one of the solo Servants to fight during that event too)

Fate/EXTRA Record launches in 2025 for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC - Gematsu
Fate/EXTRA Record will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam in 2025, publisher Bandai Namco and developers TYPE-MOON and TYPE-MOON studio BB announced.
Here is an overview of the game, via its official website:
About
The “Moon Holy Grail War” begins anew… The setting is a Spiritron virtual world called “SE.RA.PH.” built on the moon. Masters and Servants team up and fight for survival in pursuit of the “Holy Grail,” an omnipotent wish-granting device, in the Moon Holy Grail War which begins once again… This is a remake of Fate/EXTRA, the first Fate series RPG originally released on July 22, 2010, now revamped for modern hardware with an expanded scenario, refreshed character graphics, and dramatic command battles utilizing a highly strategic deck-building system.
Master and Servant
128 of the world’s top hackers, each capable of transforming their soul into Spiritrons, are selected as Masters to participate in the Holy Grail War. The Servants they form contracts with are the souls of legendary heroes and eminent figures from history, whose true names are concealed. These Servants are materialized as Spiritron life-forms and are assigned to one of seven classes, such as Saber or Archer. Through their shared struggle, where they entrust their souls to one another, their pasts and hidden desires intersect.

rebloging this because the SE.RA.PH. program has resurfaced in my mind and I will forever not be frustrated at how Type-Moon basically gave the Moon Cell an avatar of sorts with this program and it has only popped up 2 times (likely 3 once we get around to the Fate Extra Manga chapter that covers round 7) in the entire Extraverse series. I want to see this thing more, especially in the Extella series with Hakuno having the Royal Authority of SERAPH.
Can we take a moment and just state how underrated this attack program is? It’s named SE.RA.PH. and outside of the fight you have with it during the final week of Extra, it appears in the Foxtail Manga and that’s it. Not to mention the fight with it is easier than the Berserker Li Shuwen fight that happens the day before.

So if you haven't heard, the recent chapter of the FGO SERAPH manga has revealed more details about Kiara's cult in Emiya Alter's world. Not only did it include people in positions of power around the globe
it also seemed to function as an aid and relief organization, providing medical care and (presumably highly suspect) remote therapy.
(seriously, look at the guy in the chair. what Ten Thousand Colored Stagnation does to a mf)
And following from this, the tidbit that's really hitting the fate fan news cycle right now is that we've gotten more details about the situation where killing cultist Taiga caused EMIYA Alter to become who he is. Apparently, she received medical care from the cult for her son, and after he was saved she stayed on. And when EMIYA went to go eliminate Kiara, Taiga shot at him.
That's really sad and fucked up as is.
But I want to add another little tidbit here that might not be common knowledge.
At the beginning of CCC, she introduces herself as Taiga Fujimura, taking the spot of homeroom teacher before Shit Goes Down and everyone gets taken to the Far Side of the Moon.
Kiara... isn't this just a little tasteless??
That said, I do want to add a little disclaimer: CCC Kiara is most likely not the Kiara that Emiya Alter fought against. I'm having a hard time recalling which of my sources that was in, but I'll link it if I can find it.

there has been a thematic thread linking marisbury's vision for humanity's future to kirschtaria's own desire to elevate humanity and protect the crypters, and morgan's own effort to protect the land of britain that contains the memories she made as aesc alongside the original tam lin and uther. this also reflects in artoria caster's existence post-avalon le fae as a simulacrum of the actual artoria caster that died in the lostbelt, preserved and embodied by artoria avalon so in some way the memory of that girl who remembered only sadness could be embraced by happiness. additionally, meltryllis in SE.RA.PH. breaching time and space to protect fujimaru is also a link in this chain. morgan's summer form, waking up after her spirit origin manifested her memories of being aesc, makes mention of the butterfly's dream: a philosophical thought musing that there is a transient boundary between dreams and reality.
the chinese philosopher chuang tzu once dreamt he was a butterfly, untethered and free to float in the air. he woke up questioning whether he dreamed he was a butterfly, or whether the butterfly was dreaming it was him. reality can feel like a dream, and a dream can feel more real than anything, underscoring how transience is an unavoidable part of the human condition. people will live their dreams and watch them end from the moment they are born to the day they die, and heroic spirits are the same because humanity lives every day chasing its dreams and heroic spirits are those dreams.
but starting with marisbury, we contend with the idea that sometimes, the dreamer does not wish for the dream to end. if dreams are transient because the dreamer must wake, then the only way to preserve the dream is if the dreamer fades away into the dream instead. marisbury seemingly committed suicide to preserve the animusphere grand order. meltryllis burned through the remnants of her existence to protect her memories of her timeline's fujimaru by saving them in their own. kirschtaria, already at death's door, stayed alive only to ensure his ideal and his friends could survive beyond his death, his soul being described as a bird taking flight with caeneus chasing in tow as he dies. morgan sacrificed being aesc so the land of britain could survive, and wiped her own memories of totorot and mash so they wouldn't be erased from existence for being time paradoxes. artoria caster used her entire life force to forge excalibur so the time she treasured could live on with her friends in chaldea as they fought to save proper human history, and themselves, from the rampage of cernunnos's corpse.
on top of all of that, there have been very cryptic visuals associating mash and butterflies since fgo's first opening. "shikisai" had the visual of a butterfly floating in ruins, and "yakudou" has a shot of mash's gaze following a butterfly flying into the sky. the butterfly is her guide, leading the way to the end of her dream. kinoko nasu himself once shared that cosmos in the lostbelt is a story about accepting that ends will come, and thus the butterfly is the lesson that she must take to heart to grow into a person who can claim what the purpose she chose is without shame or hesitation as the end draws near. this is something she did once saving fujimaru from goetia's ars almadel salomonis at the end of observer in timeless temple. and i would not be surprised if she did the same against marisbury at the end of cosmos in the lostbelt (which has yet to finish, as paper moon's trailer demonstrates having it be part of the chapter's title).
but what is the dream she is dreaming that is inevitably coming to an end that she will choose to protect at the cost of her place in it? if you've been reading this far, then the answer should be obvious.
but nasu wouldn't be much of a romantic if he believed an end is all you could really look forward to. the journey is far more important than the destination, because it's the only thing that can give the end meaning, as romani archaman rightly puts in his final conversation with mash. you can only extrapolate the significance of something after it's already over. not at the start, not in the middle of it, and not at when it's over, but at the moment that lies beyond the end of the dream.
and when a dream ends, that is the moment when another begins.

The SE.RA.PH. manga has a chapter about Emiya Alter's backstory and reveals the face of one of Kiara's cultists who he had to kill to get to her.

I do remember se.ra.ph event mentioning melt's hands having poor sense of touch but CCC drops the actual phrase neurological disorder and her impaired senses informs a lot of her relationship with her body and sexuality and her fondness for dolls and her conception of interpersonal connection through melting and absorbing, because her body being unable to properly register external connection with another person also impairs her ability to form those connections, and her pride as ballerina makes her very particular about being in control of her body despite this being made physically impossible by her disability. constantly inviting people to get closer but only in ways where they can't actually reach her because she's too prideful to admit to loneliness and any actual connection with a separate person will remind her of things she hates about herself so she has to either keep them at a distance or skip right past letting them touch her body and directly absorb them. that handshake with guda where she told them to hold her hand more firmly or she can't feel it was an immensely huge deal.

Funnily enough, when I first pulled Kriemhild on JP, I got Lancelot right after her. And my first though wasn't "Oh lawd, he's coming for her too!" but rather, "Oh, he's come here too after spending time in NA working with Siegfried and I for so long. How nice of him to escort her."
Context: Those two I used back to back in Babylonia when it first released. Yes. They saw what happened there later.
Sure as hell was funny given I know how the writers treat him in events, but I am happy he trusts me enough to pull this off without me misinterpreting him.
That actually is kinda funny, omg
Man really looked at her being summoned, and thought, "I should probably help escort her for Siegfried's and Master's sake" and followed through on that to a T, good on him.
#ask#low-key reminds me of that time that I got both Marie and Gawain during the latter's rate-up back with the SE.RA.PH rerun
