Another one of my headcanons and world building about the Fairy kings is the idea that the thing that sustained the forest looked different for each of them. as in, the Fountain of Youth wasn't always a fountain.

For Gloxinia it was the Tree of Life. The bark, when dried and either used in tea or eaten, would cure any disease. the sap when drank could heal even the most deadly of wounds.

For Dahlia it was the Fruit of Longevity. vaguely round and slightly long and a shifting array of color that would confuse most that looked at it.

The shape changes with the kings and what it is next depends on what type of Fairy the next king is.

Changing gloxinia backstory canon he had an evil side before becoming one of the commandments, So gloxinia was supposed to be king but it was given to his sister instead of him since he acted too childish and was cursed to never grow up physically even by fairy terms meaning he stuck with baby wings (he’s a late bloomer like Elaine and King) this angers him every day but when he learns about a way to gain full wings he turns to the demon clan.

Turning to the demon clan changed his philosophy not only his eyes but his whole body as a result.

NOTE: I was having difficulty explaining and writing on how a human would know Gloxinia since he's closed off, so I'm just going to say the humans like Ban and lived 3000 years when they knew him then. If you have a different idea then just use that, it isn't thaaaat important to the story just a slight mention, but just wanted to say it :)

The fairy forest was silent during the night, everyone being quiet and asleep during the darkest time of the day. It was peaceful... Well, except for an old fairy, that was still trying to readjust to this new lifestyle of his.

The first fairy king, and soon to be a reformed commandment of Repose, Gloxinia. Yeah, there were many fairies that were shocked and held respect to his arrival with open arms as an ally, including his sister... But this didn't stop the feeling of being an outsider.

He sat on a sturdy branch on a tall tree, high and away from everything. Just staring at the horizon, over all the fairy forest like a guardian.

He sat with his wings resting and his legs hugged to his chest, his chin resting on his knees. He had a lot on his mind: about what would come next, the rest of the commandments, Drole, his sister Gerheade... (Y/N).

He didn't understand how it could've worked out, but... A human survived, for 3000 years. Maybe it was the effect of living in the fairy forest? No, that wouldn't make sense.

It didn't matter, he was.. glad to know you were still kicking your feet and moving around.

Yet he also had another question on his mind...

"Gloxinia.." His head perked up quickly to his side, disappointed in himself that he was caught so vulnerable and lost in idea, but his expression fell and calmed down to seeing you.

He didn't understand how you look at him with same look you had so long ago... It was calming and sympathetic.

".. you're here." You spoke, staring down at him with a curious look almost.

"..yeah, so are you." There was a pause as he stared at your form, your hand clutching onto the bark of the tree keeping still and away from where he sat, far and near the edge where the branch could snap easily. He sighed and looked back at the horizon, trying to make out some kind of conversation now that you were here. ".. the night's lovely, isn't it..."

On the other hand, you knew Gloxinia way back when he was still... Himself. Now, he hadn't changed much... He was just wiser and knew how to see evil from good.

He was still himself.

Gloxinia had almost forgotten what loneliness felt like in the past when you came around... That was until he fell into his own darkness and pity. When he had come back, he didn't expect to you to be so fond of him, or accepting of the new nature.

"Yeah.." There was a pause in your voice before you turned to look back at him, "I see you're here."

"Yeah.. well, where else would I be..?" He'd ask, giving a lopsided smile.

"Well, I would've suspected somewhere having to do with.." You stopped, your voice cut off when you realized what you'd say next, ready to make a joke of him being a commandment until it came to you as a bad call. "..nevermind."

"You can say it, you know... I won't be offended." He spoke with a small chuckle, knowing what you were trying to get at. Yet, his smile fell a bit, realizing how you weren't in the market for jokes right now. There was still some tension between the both of you.

Gloxinia leaned back slightly, his wings fluttering a bit keep him in balance. He watched you from the corner of his eye, he could read you easily.. literally. You were stupidly anxious and regretful to come up so high.

"Why did you even come up here if you're afraid of heights?" He asked with a dumbfounded look, almost disappointed in your judgement.

You sent him a small glare of the same judgment, "I just want to come up and say hello, I didn't actually take in how high we are until I got here.." You said while looking away.

"..you won't fall.. just sit down."

You looked at him, how he looked so peaceful to stare at the horizon, his hand patting the space beside him, inviting you and wanting you beside him now.

You were so easily caught off guard and stumbled on your feet by the sudden pull, but he quickly grabbed you once again, pulling you down and off your feet. He wrapped an arm over your shoulder, preventing you from falling or scooting away.

He couldn't help but scoff with a half small, looking up at the trees above the both of you. "See, I told you wouldn't fall."

Gloxinia laughed to himself, it was light and sincere finding their actions actually amusing, comparing it to some things other things he's witnessed this has the only moment where he found it to be actually funny.

He gently pried your hand away from where you grasped the branch below you, not wanting to fall. The look you also held, just by giving a small glance below you didn't go unoticed either. "Hey, just look at me for a moment."

He suddenly pulled his arms away from you, leaving you to panic from the sudden shutter of a breeze crawling up your skin.

His weight shifted off the branch, levitating and turning his body completely towards you, in front of you now. "Take a breather, and focus on me. You're not falling and I'm not going anywhere." He assured, his voice stern and his arms crossed over his chest. "You trust me don't you?"

Gloxinia + Drove (some are separate, some are paired)

Gloxinia can understand in the sense of helplessness of being unable to fly properly, it was in due part to having been born with the condition that impaired your ability to fly, since having such bad and weak wings since birth. Gloxinia had offhandedly asked you about the matter on your weak wings, to which you had told him in great value how you had felt and the way you were treated by others for being incapable of the abundant manner of flight. Since he had been offered such invaluable insight on the subject, he had then made the decision to find ways that could support your wings so you could gain flight, even if it was the smallest hopeless thing.

Gloxinia offers his 'Basquias' as a form of transportation should he sense that you are truly struggling to getting from one point to another, having also point out to you that it doesn't kill to ask for help, even despite your personality of stubbornness. Should you accept his help, he readily helps you over. However if you do decline, he will respect that as well. He simply just wants you aware that he will always help you should you want it, though Gloxinia can be albeit impatient and decide to assist you anyway in certain situations.

Drole will offer ways of assistance to helping you should you find yourself stuck in difficult spots in certain situations, but he however has the most infinite amount of patience should you decline his help. Though he seldom understood what it was like to have such bad wings, he sought out some sort of wisdom from Gloxinia, whom told him to just let you work it out yourself. As the giant has come to learn that you were more then not; stubborn.

Drole irregardless speaks of you very highly whenever someone brings you up in conversation, though if they do happen to mention the trouble involving your weak wings, he is rather quick to defend you: more often then not he proves to have a sharp tongue. So he shuts them down quickly if they happen to be rude about you in that aspect, Drole doesn't tolerate disrespect.

Drole had often wondered about how the matter of your weak wings came to be, as you had never spoken on the details of your circumstance to him in particular. But he reels in his curiosity, Drole understands the preference of not wanting to speak about certain things, especially if it involves out of commission appendages.

Gloxinia + Drole, both are particularly easy on you in different ways, as they will be quick to shield you should you find yourself engaged in combat. They are well aware of your capabilities as a fighter, but they had also prefer to cover you as they are weary on the possibilities of you getting injured.

Gloxinia + Drole prefer moments of quiet and peace, and often on the suggestion of going out on walks, simply enjoying the presence of each other and the sights of Mother Nature. You can always hear Gloxinia audibly groan when you two hear Drole begin one of his rants of one his many stories of what he had experienced three-thousand years ago. On rare occasions however, it may be Gloxinia recounting his own experiences from the time of when he was truly committed to his duties as the first fairy king.

Gerheade has a complete sense of understanding given your plight with your lack of ability being able to fly properly, even despite improper means of flight. But she will suggest any means of flight that will help you get around more freely, but should you prefer just wanting to feel the freedom of the sky and just feeling the breeze, she understands that too, instead searching for more methods that will help you in such a way.

Gerheade does try her best to better understand how differently your wings work compared to the average fairy, but based on her understanding and collective info she's gathered from you, she had come to understand that you had been borne with terrible and weak muscles in the wings. To which you had did you best to make up for in other areas.

Gerheade, to her, having come to know you was such a wonderful thing if she was being honest. To experiencing things with you, gave her a new perspective on those whom were physically or invisibly disabled. She definitely had become better for it, and in earnest became wiser about it toward herself.

Diane at first was admittedly confused as to why you couldn't fly very well, or not much at all. But when you had elaborated, she apologized for her lack of ignorance, but you had reassure her it was fine. As it was a large rarity for someone like you to exist, especially for a fairy.

Random pet peeve I have with the nnt English wiki: WHY IS THE GREAT TREE LABELED THE SACRED TREE???

Like I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the Sacred Tree and Great Tree are seperate entities. The Cursed by Light movie literally shows them having different designs.

Like the Sacred Tree lies in the Fairy realm (only accessible to fairies) and the Great Tree lies in the Fairy King’s Forest. I always understood that the Great Tree was an extension of the Sacred Tree but in Britannia. Since the Fairy King’s Forest acts like a border between the human and fairy realm.

And just to support my reasoning that I’m not crazy and they are in fact different: Don’t you think it’d be a pretty big deal if the literal GOD OF THE FAIRIES DIED FROM A RED DEMON. And like don’t you think it’d be a bigger deal for fairies if your god/creator died? Instead of just a “Boo Harlequin you suck” moment.

Anyways this is a rant I remember having in my head four years ago, and I just wanted to get it out.

BEFORE BECOMING COMMANDMENT

Definitely a cuddle bug, (although I feel like all fairies are cuddle bugs) Gloxinia really enjoys just wrapping his arms around you, or being in your arms

If you're the type that cries easily, it bothers him. Not that's he's upset with you, but he feels like he's doing something wrong, especially when you can't tell him what the problem is. He's patient to wait and let you use his shoulder to cry on. He'll always listen and give you some opinions as well.

Gloxinia enjoys to wipe your tears away, and if you allow him, kiss them away. He doesn't want to see you with puffy or redden eyes, he doesn't think they're very suiting on you (or anyone—)

This fairy definitely has fun when he comes up and boops you on the nose before dashing off. He often does this when he's busy and needs to be somewhere, but will have enough time to give you a little 'boop.'

Speaking of fun, he loves to play games. Gloxina's favorite is hide and seek. Often he'll help you hide from the other fairies if you're both hiders. If you're the seeker, he'll enjoy following from behind, watching you struggle to look for him when he's right there. Behind you. In the tree. If he's the seeker.. oh boy, good luck getting passed him. He knows the forest better than anyone.

Gloxinia definitely take pride in how he looks. Yeah, maybe he's not the best looking, but he KNOWS he's not ugly. Other than his features, he'll also pride himself to take care of you. Even if it means he'll have to pester you to take care of yourself, if you're the lazy type.

Speaking of which, Gloxinia loves to mess with your hair. If you've got short hair, he's adding some small flowers and clips into it, putting it into tiny pigtails and braids. If you've got long hair, he's definitely combing his fingers through it, and just doing the same with short hair but much worse. Don't be surprised if you're trying to pull everything out and about an hour has gone by and you've still got little flowers in your hair.

Of course, he'll let you do the same as long as he's free and not expected somewhere. He's not gonna show up to battle with pigtails... Unless you really manage to convince/trick him.

Honestly, I believe Gloxinia's a dancer. Although he's not very good one and doesn't do it often, he does enjoy taking your hand to dance in the most hidden areas of the forest, where it's just you two. Twirling you around and catching you.

I think Gloxinia would use petnames every once in awhile, like he'll probably call you something really affectionate, like "pretty girl/boy" "flower" "princess/prince". These are more of the fun of it, because he's a playful and affectionate tease. Although he's more likely to call you by your name or a shortened version, nickname, from it.

Gloxinia isn't big on PDA. He'll probably hold your hand and kiss you on the cheek when it feels like it's just the two of you in a big crowd, although if you're talking to whole lot of people, not too focused on another specifically then he's not showing it. In private, like I said, he's very cuddly.

Gloxinia would probably gift you some flowers as a birthday gift or anniversary, but then it'd eventually become a habit of his to drop flowers of to you every day (that's he's free—)

AFTER BECOMING COMMANDMENT (If you want to, you can consider him almost yandere after the change—)

If/When you guys have that, finally meet eachother after so long arc, he's a bit anxious to talk to you. He's... Confused and angry. Confused how you survived, and angry with himself. Eventually, when he does get the courage to talk to you, it doesn't feel like much has changed. After all, he's still the same. Just... Wiser.

Again, Gloxinia hasn't changed much, he's still playful to be around.. but he's also a little mean about how he can mess with you. Of course, not to a point where it'll actually upset or make you uncomfortable.

Gloxinia is wrapped around Basquias much more after what he endured. He's very closed in and careful about who he's around, not wanting to trust people but also not wanting to feel hurt again.

Although, Gloxinia will often allow you around him, every once in awhile he'll even ask to cuddle inside Basquias, so it's just the two of you wrapped together away from the world.

Gloxinia is incredibly overprotective of you, won't leave your side very easily. He's too scared of another slip up to occur.

It's much more easier to understand his emotions better compared to the past. Back then he could easily hide his sadness and frustration since he didn't carry those emotions often. Now, even if he's got dull eyes and a stoic expression, you can understand what's on his mind.

Whenever you cry, it's a little different. Gloxinia does fly to you with protective arms, asking you whose hurt you. That's the first question. But if it isn't something or someone he can fix, he's a little more anxious. He's quiet as he hugs you, not knowing how he can fix the problem.

As weird as it is, Gloxinia has this habit now of watching you sleep. He listens to your heartbeats and quiet breathing, making sure you're okay and safe before he'll let himself rest. Sometimes he'll get lost in his world and later realize how much time has gone by... Not just that, but you look incredibly peaceful.. and vulnerable, when you sleep. He almost pitys you for that.

Yeahhhh.. don't be too surprised if he has to leave for a bit, maybe commandment stuff, y'know. then find him.. stalking you almost. It's become a predatorial and protective thing of his. Yeah, maybe he's become a little tooooo overprotective. But with the commandments running around, he knows that some people will get hurt, including you.

Gloxinia kisses are the same as they always have been, but they carry deeper and sadder emotions of regret and not wanting to let you go. They're very soft and slow, lingering on your lips and skin for awhile.

Honestly, Gloxinia is just glad that you're there with him. It makes him feel better that he's got someone, maybe recognizable from the past, he can hold and talk to in his darkest time.

i gotta get up in like 6 hrs but i can't sleep so here have the oh shit nnt thought of the night:

the only demon in THE demon hating club

this is a sentence my brain just came up with to describe Stigma Meliodas, and isn't that fucked up?? Like that was a very fucked up thing Meliodas put himself through. I feel like we as a fandom don't talk enough about how fucked up that was (shadowed by all the other fucked up things meli went through)

Because... not only did Meliodas' decision to join Stigma cause every demon to hate him, it also meant that he decided to spend his days around people who hated him or at the very least his race (that cannot have been good for his mental health which let's be honest probably was really shitty to begin with because of the dk and his childhood)

The goddess in the horn really wasn't that far off when she said he had no allies. Like obviously she wasn't right, but she wasn't entirely wrong either

Cause let's think about that in regard to Stigma Meliodas. We don't fully know how most of the members of Stigma felt about Meliodas, but considering they talked about slaughtering "every last one of the damned demon race" when Meli was literally RIGHT THERE (and none of them were like hey lucy maybe we shouldn't commit genocide) we can assume most of them wouldn't care if Meliodas died and probably only tolerated him being there because they had no choice (and if he was on their side then he wasn't on the enemy's side)

The way he responds to King (as Gloxinia) questioning his loyalty just seems so resigned, like he has been over this time and time; he knows Stigma don't trust him and he knows there's nothing he can say to change that, only his actions (him not betraying them) can prove he is actually on their side and not some deep undercover spy for the demons

Anyways I'm getting sidetracked- ALLIES! The only people in Stigma we know considered Meliodas an ally and friend are: Elizabeth (of course), Drole and Gloxinia, and then Rou

First let it sink in how fucking short that list is, and then let's think about each of those allies and what happens to them...

Elizabeth. Well. She dies. Horribly. And like I'm not even talking about the whole curse thing, I'm talking about how goddess Elizabeth died and Meliodas had to continue living. HE WOKE UP NEXT TO HER DEAD BODY. That was another very very very fucked up thing that happened (that we also don't talk about enough me thinks - cause like... he died. but then he didn't. but then she was still dead right next to him. and he didn't even know about the curse. he thought she was dead dead and he was alive. she was gone forever. and he was still living and now alone. very fucked up)

And then we have Rou. Rou who befriended Meliodas. Rou who knew Meliodas was a demon and didn't care and still called him a friend. Rou who only joined Stigma to get revenge on Stigma. Like yeah Rou didn’t hate every demon but he still brought that kind of hate and violence (regardless of his reasons). And was then also killed (by one of Mel's allies no less)

Which brings us to Drole and Gloxinia. Who had every reason to hate Meliodas (being the kings of their respective races) but still saw Meliodas as an ally and friend. Drole and Gloxinia who Meliodas then lost. Not to death but to the very side Meliodas himself had left in order to join Stigma. Who then also got sealed away for 3,000 years (leaving Meliodas not only without Elizabeth but also without his friends). And thennnn 3,000 years later, the same allies/friends are now Meliodas' enemies. (Hell Gloxinia is one of the Commandments who actively attack Meliodas in the fight leading up to Meli's literal death

TLDR; The First Holy War era deserved more attention in canon and Stigma Meliodas went through some really fucked up shit
