Just finished up an Over the Garden Wall themed sculpted scene. Made this from scratch for a Christmas gift, which is why Enoch has two kitties popping their heads out to peek. Wish I had remember to get a picture with the glass dome on.

I’m super psyched with how this piece came out. By far the tiniest details I’ve ever done. Respect to miniature artists everywhere, people do not understand the intensity of the work you do!

There are so many 3d printing files for figures of Bg3 companions but I ask you: Where is a really cool figure for my fav grumpy Tiefling wizard?

Well... If you can't buy it - make it!

I imagine this to be when he left Last Light Inn and was in the middle of the battle against the shadows!

What I lack in experience with sculpting polymer clay figures by hand, I (hopefully) make up for in determination to create my own merch for him!

A little early look at my struggle to make a gift for Mom’s birthday.

“The Librarian” from Discworld sounded easy, but I’ve had so many difficulties it’s ridiculous! Sculpey trouble. Tools trouble. Paint trouble. Brush trouble. Injuries. Time. Oh yeah, and my stupid brain not focusing!

Anyway, here is a photo of the four I made, with a close up of the one I am giving her. Proper posting of them eventually.

Oh, and if you are wondering what book titles I picked…

Two are “The Joye of Snacks”, one I’m giving Mom and one that really didn’t have space to properly write any title.

“Fairies and How to Avoid Them”, because I just started reading “A Hatful of Sky” to Mom.

“The Summoning of Dragons”, because it fit the cover and most the other title options were too long for my frizzed out brush to handle anyway.

Twenty-eight Constellations From The Temple Of Supreme Talisman

Pottery figurines of the Twenty-Eight Constellations from the Ziwei Pavilion (紫薇閣) in Supreme Talisman (Taifu) Temple (太符觀) are quietly chatting.

The Taoist temple itself, located in Fenyang (汾陽), Shanxi, was built in the fifth year of the Jin dynasty (1200). The Jade Emperor is enshrined in the main hall. The other halls on the both sides are dedicated to the Holy Mother of Houtu (后土聖母), aka Xiwangmu, The Queen Mother of the West, and to the Five Sacred Mountains (五嶽).

The figurines, just like some of the buildings, date back to the Ming dynasty. Each is about half a meter high. Of the original number, eight have been lost over the centuries. The rest were moved to the Shanxi Museum (山西博物院).

Each time I'm finishing a sculpt I'm so so tempted to carve my trademark, like my initials or something 😁. That is soooo narcissistic, even Games Workshop doesn't do that, but still it's my work, isn't it, after all, why shouldn't I sign it ?

Rolan sculpture WIP

This isn't painted yet but it's sculpted at this point. I was sitting down doing a mock-up over some photos of what I want to do with it to paint it tonight and thought I'd post it. This is a traditional sculpture I made out of polymer clay. She's a mix of CosClay Doll Faerie Light clay for her skin/ears/hair/horns and white traditional Sculpey for her outfit because I made her to kill some of my sculpey clay because I don't really like it.... I really enjoy CosClay Polymer clay but it's still not smooth enough for me to really like it either much... though it's a thousand times better than sculpey looks. I don't want to blab too much, but I got a few more different types of clay, foam, porcelain and sculpey souffle clay, that seem like they'd be more compatible with 'anime figure' making, which is what I want to do. Doing a deep dive into what are used for them, it seems like a lot are a type of air-dry ultra light polymer that isn't sold in my country. A Korean, a Japanese, and a Chinese brand of clays which look similar to BOHS foam clay. I'm hoping BOHS will be usable.... anyway, we'll see how those go when they show up. If I wind up really enjoying this and making a lot, maybe I can ship some finished ones out to ptrons if they want them? I dunno yet. Anyway, here's this for now.
