Thought I'd share this here! In 2018 (gulp) I painted what would be the first of many iterations of this Gob! He remains a dear favourite of mine and when Mindwork said they wanted to realise him as a 75m miniature - I was so bloody chuffed! 3d artist Juan Novelletto really did him such a justice, I am so delighted with how he turned out! Cannot wait to have him scowling at me on my desk!

"Jester" - Scorpioelite, 2024

I saw this person in the city the other day, entertaining passers by, doing tricks like juggling, and making a fool of himself to make others laugh. He had this huge massive smile on his face the entire time he performed his act.

The second the crowd rolled away, he began to cycle, waving at passers by, honking a horn on his comically small bike and making children laugh as he travelled to his unknown destination.

I was able to capture this photo as he finished waving to a child, his act broken for but a fleeting second, revealing a deep, intrinsic sadness in his eyes. Those are the eyes of a man who's happiness comes from seeing joy in others, even if that means making a fool of himself. Becoming the Jester.

But that moment left as quickly as it appeared, with a big fake comical grin spreading across his face as he smiled for my camera.

I do hope he's doing alright during these lonely, rainy nights we've been having recently.

At the end of the day, who makes the Jester laugh?

Trumpeter Isaac Marvin made his debut at the Simply Jazz club in Publika, Kuala Lumpur.

His nerves disappeared as he played with Malaysian jazz luminary and his teacher Michael Veerapen plus two others at the intimate jazz club in northern KL.

And totally made the crowd look up and enjoy the night and their dinner.
