RECHERCHE THÉORIQUE 5 : ARTISTE (OLIVIER DE SAGAZAN)

Olivier de Sagazan est un peintre, sculpteur et performeur français qui est reconnu pour ses étranges et morbides performances alors que le corps et le médium ne font plus qu’un dans une quête de sens à la vie et à l’identité.

  Sa série de performance <<Transfiguration>> est la plus célèbre alors qu’il recouvre sa tête entière d’argile et la sculpte par la suite avec l’aide d’outil de sculptage d’argile, de peinture et de pinceaux. En s’aveuglant en recouvrant son visage d’argile, l’artiste se force à plonger dans les creux les plus profonds de son être pour se retrouver alors qu’il se modélise à travers de mouvement brusque et sauvage comme un animal et précis et lentement comme l’homme, cherchant à marcher sur la limite de ce qui sépare la bête de l’homme.

Je cherche à utiliser une méthode similaire de recherche de l’identité dans le projet que je veux produire à travers l’étrange, le bizarre et l’insensé pour reproduire l’effet de plongée dans les creux les plus profonds de ce qui nous définit en tant qu’individu unique.
