Well, I promised you guys a 12th Doctor piece, and I figured it should be something special. I couldn't stop thinking about Twelve losing his memories of Clara. Knowing that he's lost something, but unsure of what used to fill the space. I was particularly inspired by this quote  "When something goes missing, you can always recreate it by the hole it left. I know her name was Clara. I know we travelled together. I know that there was an Ice Warrior on a submarine and a mummy on the Orient Express. I know we sat together in the Cloisters and she told me something very important but I’ve no idea what she said. Or what she looked like. Or how she talked. Or laughed. There’s nothing there. Just nothing." I think Twelve has dreams of a diner, a song, and memories of something he lost.

I created my own reference to use with Z Brush and a couple of free assets :)

For the face ref I used this screenshot from Hell Bent which felt fitting.

Pose Reference Resources

I promised Dia (aka aerequets) that I will make a collection of pose references in the reply of one of her art posts, and then I completely forgot about it. Until now. I'm sorry for my bad memory.

So, yeah, better late than never I guess?

The pose collection I use the most is no longer free. They used to let you download a whole album (more than 8GB worth of data) to use offline, but now you have to pay $40/package or $200 for full sets. I still have the zip file for a very old version of theirs, but I can't legally share it. So, let's skip to the other options.

1/ First, you heard of those 3D dolls program that let you model your own reference pose? This one is an online one and for free, the whole ordeal. Of course since it's online and free, you can't save your model for next time, and it costs quite a lot of time to set the model up. So, you should take as much screenshots in as many tricky angles as you need once you done with the setting. Best using for complicated scenes where those below don't have what you need already available.

2/ This one is free and in 3D, you can rotate the model to any angle that you need. The only set back is the numbers of poses are quite limited. This one is best for using as a basic blocks then build up what you want to draw, or just as a practice to improve your understanding of human anatomy.

3/ This one is free for personal uses and the pose collection is massive. The setbacks are the language barrier (it's in Japanese, English is sometimes tag-a-long) and you have to search through their pages for what you need. The pics for each pose is static but they are in different angle in almost 360 degrees. There are many 2-person and 3-person poses too. Great for illustration inspiration.

4/ This one will only show reference photos of human head, at whatever angle you rotate the model. The web interface is easy to use. There are options like searching based on gender, ages, emotions, glasses, facial hair or not, etc. Good for practicing face drawing.

5/ This one will show reference photos for human body parts, at whatever angle you rotate the model, read the instructions for how to do it. The web interface is quite hard to use at first, just tinkering around for a bit, and you will be fine. There are options like searching based on gender and which particular parts that you need refs for. Good for that moment when you go "huh? how is this <body part> will look in this <situation>????"

6/ This one will only show reference photos of animal heads, and only the head, at whatever angle you rotate the model. The accurate skull refencence list is their best point. There are enough common species in the drop down list. Tbh, I don't use this much because I often need refs for the whole animal most of the time. But it's best for furry artists, I guess?

7/ Real model photos. They sell pose reference in themed packs, but there are enough free packs to use as drawing practice too.

8/ This is the best for general background reference. Lots of options. Not really good for very specific location results, but good for random background in drawings.

9/ Lastly, for specific objects or background references at strange angles, I often search for 3D models on this site then take screenshots of whatever I need.

That's all, folks. Hope this list can help ease some of the struggles that we will encounter on our quest of learning the art of drawing things 😂

+I will be using Google Forms to manage people’s submissions! Rather than emailing me right away to ask if I’m open, you’ll fill out the form. I will NOT be able to accept ALL commissions, I’m afraid! I get too many each time I open the form, but it is unfair to people with odd work schedules or different time zones to do First Come First Serve! If you do not fill out the form correctly (ie: do not link references or say ‘will send refs if accepted) your commission will automatically be rejected. I will send out invoices to the commissioners that I accept sometime by this weekend and will send WIPs and such via email! I will make a public announcement of when invoices have gone out.

+Since this is a large seasonal batch of commissions, I will be using Trello again so people can monitor the progress on their commission! The trello will be linked in the TOS once I begin sending out invoices.

Sweeney Todd fanart finally! This is taken straight from a 2023 Broadway Revival screenshot of Annaleigh Ashford as Mrs. Lovett. I had a lot of fun figuring out what I wanted with it, but yes it nearly killed me. I also listened to the new recording on repeat a lot for this and I can't stand it anymore. Still love it, though. Anti!AU Relationships

An infodump about the relationships Peri and Irep have with Cosmo, Wanda, Anti-Cosmo, and Anti-Wanda below the cut! Sorry for not having a doodle or drawing with this one. Enjoy this little screenshot of baby Irep instead, yes, this would be cannon to the au.

Also! New sideblog for the Anti!AU, since most of the posts on @zero-and-crew have gotten a bit buried and will continue to do so.

Peri's post is coming soon! We wanna make sure we get his ref in before sharing everything that's happened to him as a kid.

Peri's relationships:

Peri grew up with Anti-Cosmo, mostly. And the occasional visit from Anti-Wanda, who he adores (she may be a twit, but she's a loving one!) He gets annoyed at her sometimes, just like Anti-Cosmo does. But he loves her nonetheless. She was always the nicer of the two, the one who'd come and make sure he was okay *emotionally.* He'd usually say yes as a kid, even if it wasn't really true. But sometimes he'd open up to her, in hopes that she wouldn't slip up and tell anyone. He'd keep it vague.

His relationship with Anti-Cosmo is more complicated. Anti-Cosmo is a great teacher, or mentor. But he's never been great at being his dad. He lacked the emotional part of raising him. But he was always stable, and even if he isn't emotionally available— his advice is always solid and sound. He can usually get Peri to talk to him over a game of chess, and think through his thoughts *logically* rather than irrationally.

If he needs someone to emotionally support him? He'll go to Anti-Wanda. If he needs advice? Anti-Cosmo. Sometimes he goes to both. Especially if it's about relationships.

His feelings about Cosmo and Wanda are simple. He thinks they don't care about him. They never found him. As far as he's aware, they never even looked for him. He had no reason to care about them even though it hurt that they never looked for him. That changed when they took in Irep. He quickly became jealous, as it seemed Irep started to have the "perfect" life with his parents and his godbrother. The jealousy fuels a part of his hatred for Irep.

Irep's relationships:

Irep has similar feelings. He's jealous that Peri's so easily able to get along with his dad, Anti-Cosmo. It's not that he can't get along with Anti-Cosmo.. It's just difficult. His naturally less evil demeanor makes it a lot harder to find joy in the things Anti-Cosmo enjoy! Sure, he sometimes enjoys the occasional classic torment while he's younger, but not as much as his dad.

As he gets older, softer, things get harder between the two. And, eventually they become no contact. It's not until Peri befriends him, and invites him for a sleepover, that Irep and Anti-Cosmo start to talk again. Though they have their differences, the two are on neutral terms after this.

It's when Irep graduates Fairy Academy that he's really surprised— he expected to see Cosmo, Wanda and Anti-Wanda (she always loved him, and he knew that). The surprise was seeing Anti-Cosmo with them as well— and all of them, getting along for him. Anti-Cosmo's gift, a simple pack of cards, was all he needed.

They still don't talk much, but their relationship is much better now. Even if it's still complicated. That's why, out of the two of them, he prefers Anti-Wanda, her relationship with him was never complicated, but he never gets to see her. Sometimes, he still misses her cooking.

But his real parents will always be Cosmo and Wanda. They raised him, after all. He won't admit it— but he loves them both a lot. For a while, he simply called them "Auntie Wanda" and "Uncle Cosmo" and usually he still does. But that makes it even more special to them when he slips up and calls them 'Mom' or 'Dad'.

He frequently goes to them both for advice, emotional or not. Though, he often times, keeps parts of the truth hidden from them— especially when it involves Peri. For various reasons. Usually to protect them. He doesn't want them to worry.. He's happy to have their support though. Genuinely!

I was attempting to use this piece to test out more painterly strokes as well as working on my lost and found edges. I'm not sure it really worked, I really struggle to not get overly detailed. I also didn't do much of a sketch before hand, just jumped quickly into painting which proved... an unfortunate decision lol. But nonetheless it was a fun study, and always a pleasure to paint a scene from my favorite episode <3
