this is mildly OOC but I’ve had the idea since listening to the Edison Kingdom arc that Gillion confesses to Chip over and over in Primordial. bc we learn from that arc that he doesn’t consider it lying if he tells the truth in a language people don’t understand. yeah anyway I just think that’s a fun idea

OUGH STOP ACTUALLY IM INCREDIBLY NORMAL ABT THIS. Imagining him whispering it. And Chip asks what he said, and he just shakes his head. He was talking to himself, he says. It wasn’t a lie- he was. He was just talking about how Chip’s smile is beautiful, and how he’d sacrifice himself a hundred times over for the human. He says it when he knows Jay isn’t around to know what he’s saying. I love you, is said when Chip is playing with Ollie, or laughing with Drey or making another speech. I don’t know how to say it, is whispered when Chip isn’t looking, when they’re alone. It’s not that anyone else would understand it- it’s just- it’s the principle of it. It’s the quietness. It’s a confession without commitment, because the feeling inside of Gillion is so strong that he can’t hold it in, but he can’t tell Chip, because he doesn’t know how to want.

Thinking about Chip going to Caspian/Jay and asking them to teach him some primordial. Him learning that the phrase he hears Gillion say something is a confession of love.

The next time he hears the phrase, he looks at Gillion, and in Primodrial, he whispers, I know.

Eddie steps backward, leaning back against the fridge, crossing his arms in front of him, and Buck fights back a frustrated groan at the way Eddie is shutting down, just dismissing the conversation. Fights back the urge to step up to him and shake him until he's honest. "Eddie, what do you want?" He asks, keeping the space Eddie had put between them, but his eyes widen as if he wasn't expecting that, and Buck watches as he swallows, and shakes his head while looking down at somewhere near Buck's shoes. "It doesn't matter," he says, and Buck huffs, looking up at the ceiling. "What do you want?" He repeats and Eddie squeezes his eyes shut as he continues to shake his head.
