i may or may not have made full designs for mercs in an rp i'm doing...

most of these are pretty gimmicky on purpose, also i changed a cuple of stuff here and there

for the sake of the rp i designed these kill feeds (more or less inspired by those chat devices someone made for dsmp that one time) (it's a little primitive, but it only has to be functional)

there is a v.2 which has the form of a watch (you can see it on sniper, spy and engie) (it also has a mode where instead of sending notifications it vibrates, thought it would be fun for sneaking) (maybe it even has a walke talkie function, yk, for team comms) (i didn't draw but it's all fictional anyway)

i kept some on my hcs in these ddesigns too, like engi's and Pyro's special goggles and tails and

i also removed Medic's lab coat because... well... he doesn't have it on...

i removed Sniper's facial hair too because i ended up hating it hfsgfe

I have so much thoughts but I'm too shy to elaborate on them lol

But I read your tags about cabin em/a and yeah, it's also how I feel, like wdym you both are running away in the middle of enemy territory, without telling anyone, letting the supposedly third member of your family alone in an ongoing war, as the last titan on paradis side. "But there are Jean, Sasha and Connie" who are their own trio, "but he also have Annie" who is in the cristal, "but he is an grown man" barely an adult, actually.

That's also why I can't fully enjoy the last ending, why are that many people so sure Armin is alone in hell? Why people think Eren is in haven but Armin isn't?

Anyway my own interpretation of the cabin world is more like, although is a way for em to find closure, is not supposed to be a perfect world, nor fully a perfect alternative choice, so Mikasa can be in peace with the decisions she already made.

Also, you read fanfics? I like how "To Each Their Cage" by 72HoursMassacre explore this concept, but read the tags first.

Yeah, I'm (obviously) very much in agreement about cabin em/a. I feel like people really downplay Armin's relationships with Eren and Mikasa in order to allow themselves to feel good about the cabin em timeline.

Like yes, Sasha, Connie, and Jean are still there, but Armin isn't nearly as close them as he is with Eren and Mikasa. And (as you said) they're an established friendship trio that Armin is not part of. Annie would understand Armin, but in the cabin timeline, Eren never undoes the hardening, so Annie is never freed.

People also really try to insist that Armin is a "grown man" and therefore would not be so "wimpy" as to be hurt by em leaving. First of all, 19 is barely an adult, and second, such emotions are not relegated to a specific age range. I think that a 40 year old could feel just as hurt by his best friends running away and leaving him to face a war without them as a 19 year old. I suspect there's an undercurrent of misogyny there, where people think being emotional (specifically sad) is a "feminine trait" and therefore "weak", "childish", "bad". When it's clearly just a human trait lol. to think Armin "couldn't be sad" or that "being sad is wimpy" is ridiculous

I have also seen people argue that Armin "got over" his insecurities about the possibility of Eren and Mikasa deciding he's a burden and leaving him after confronting the Garrison during the Trost arc in season 1 - which is absolutely absurd. Such a deep-rooted insecurity is not going to vanish in an instant, and it has clearly colored Armin's actions and mentality throughout the whole story. Heck, I'd say that Eren leaving Armin pre-s4 deeply exacerbated Armin's insecurities, which held him back a lot in s4 because he no longer had any trust in his abilities.

Anyways. I too interpret the cabin as a way for em to find closure, moreso for Mikasa than Eren.

I think another part of it is that in the AoT universe, the concepts of heaven and hell may not align with our real-world understandings (which differ from religion to religion anyway). There does seem to be some sort of afterlife, or a way that souls are preserved (?), at least for the Eldians through Paths. I've seen people float around the idea that the place Mikasa and Eren are in the last ending is not heaven, but the Eldian afterlife, or perhaps the AoT universe afterlife, and that there is no hell in AoT. I somewhat like this theory because it would mean that Armin isn't burning in hell alone LOL

My theories: 1) Mikasa is in heaven, and her version of heaven must include Eren. Eren is split between heaven for Mikasa and hell for his and Armin's sins. 2) There is no heaven or hell in AoT, and Eren, Mikasa, and all the characters go to "AoT afterlife" or nowhere at all. 3) There is no "Aot afterlife" or Eldian afterlife after the titan curse is broken. The ED is simply Mikasa's dream as she passes away.

All in all, it's very frustrating to see people insist that Eren and Mikasa are in heaven whilst Armin is alone in hell. While Armin's crimes against humanity are vast, Eren's are far, far worse. If Armin were to go to hell (even with all the work he did to rebuild humanity), Eren would definitely be there too. The additional ending with Eren and Mikasa in "heaven" seems to contradict the messaging the finale had up until that point. Mikasa does deserve heaven, a peaceful existence, a good ending - but Eren ending up in heaven too really leaves a bad taste in my mouth :/ If Eren is in heaven, is the story minimizing, perhaps even justifying, his actions?

Also, what is the point of the entire conversation where Armin and Eren promise to be together in hell forever is that is not the case?

Honestly, I would take less of an issue if Armin joined them at the end of the ED, to demonstrate they all made it to the AoT version of afterlife. It's a shame too, because the ED is gorgeous

Oh and as to the fic, I definitely read it at some point a while back! 72HoursMassacre's fics are usually pretty good explorations, so I probably liked that one too :)

i'm a little disappointed in the tf2 end comic but i'm taking into consideration that the fact that we've been waiting 7yrs for it there's no way to make everyone happy and justify waiting so long - its understandable that they wanted to put out something that wrapped things up in any way possible and still finally ended the series rather than keep people waiting another 7yrs

FINALLY have time to watch an other episode of the Scracthed Universe series so I'm just gonna write this post as I watch it cuz I'm OBSESSED with them:

The way Jumpsuit signaled Fixer to get behind him permanently altered my brain chemistry. THIS is the reason I'm watching this series so slowly, im writing them a fic wherever they like of or not XD

Okey, pausing my 2013 fangirl rant to talk about how GREAT the infected are

The mutilated faces are a basic yet extremely effective way to show the virus. It corrupts their faces, like corrupted files. Because that's exactly what they are, they are in a video game and they are made out of digital blood and 01100100 01101001 01100111 01101001 01110100 01100001 01101100 guts. The faces are unnatural and unique to the character (and even according to game mechanics as the Spy's can hide it), it makes you feel uncomfortable in a way only uncanny valley could and I love that XD

ALSO this moment I'm losing my MIND here with this series-

Another reason I like their dynamic so much is even though Jumpsuit is more comfortable in this environment, Fixer is in no way helpless. Shown in the way how he efficiently held up his own before Jumpsuit showed up to save him from the infected Spy (WHICH only got the upper hand because he was about to backstab him) in the last episode, the way even though he panics frequently and Jumpsuit calming him down definitely helps, he throws in ideas on what to do, fixes sentries and jumps right back up to headshot that Demoman after getting blown up. I like how they both have strong suits in different departments and complete their dynamic. I'm fairly positive they are going to make it out <3 please don't tell me I just jinxed them

THIS IS ACTUALLY DISTURBING LIKE I'M NOT KIDDING- the other infected were spooky, yes, but this is downright bone-chilling this is WRONG THAT THING SHOULD BE PUT DOWN the only reason I added scared Fixer there is because I genuinely can't handle looking at that thing in full size BUT I might be biased since I was always uncomfortable with hyperrealism in animated horror lol

To be honest I'm not really sure if the BONKBOT can access the map interface and or if he knows how many people are on the map thanks to his visors or something BUT he is a brilliant character XD he is a perfect way to lower the stakes and sprinkle in some comedy without it feeling out of place

I am in love with the idea that a few of the mercs are just parental in nature.

Like youve got Engie, who is just constantly seen as a the team dad because he just seems like he would be and would listen and give fatherly advice. Mans just seems like a dad

But what I love as well is both Heavy and Medic being a fatherly duo. Medic certainly doesnt seem like the type at times but that doesng matter. He will notice if something is off and will notice if someone is acting different. Scout seems quiet and distant? He gets dragged to the medbay and is questioned until he cracks and tells Medic what is wrong. Which Medic in turn gives some actually good advice on what he should do. Same goes with any of the other mercs. Heavy I think is self explanatory. He took care of his mom and his three sisters filling in for the father roll as well as being an older brother and I think on base he continues that roll but with the mercs.

Over all I think the base has 3 team dads (Heavy, Medic, and Engie) and everyone else kinda fills a more brotherly roll (thats not saying that Heavy, Medic, and Engie dont all act like siblings with the rest sometimes. They will get dragged into the others dumb ideas and stunts and will go a long with them most of the time)
