Freddy is great, but all my my Scooby-Doo autism headcanons always go right to Scrappy. The summaries may not be on wikipedia anymore, but don't worry, they have been safely moved to to Scoobypedia. They are safe.

May I ask about your lore for the trifecta that Arthur, Ricky, and Shaggy make? I'm confused. Arthur isn't quite the same if only because Mystery was never "his" dedicated animal companion? Or is it something else?
I don’t blame you for being confused.
And in fact, a major driving force of this fic is that the Mystery Skulls don’t fit the pattern as closely as the other groups. There's a lot of stuff in your question that I can't explain without spoiling future reveals in this fic, but there is some stuff I can clear up in regards to the "pattern". Particularly regarding Arthur not being paired with Mystery the way Shaggy is paired with Scooby and Ricky was paired with Pericles.
If you watch SDMI and more closely examine the preceding groups, the pattern isn’t as concrete as it seems.
Take the Benevolent Lodge of Mystery for instance:
Tumblr media
In the episode “Night Terrors”, it’s stated that in that group, the mascot/animal, Mr. Peaches, was actually paired with the group’s “Fred”, Oswald P. Burlington. I don’t know enough about the rest of the groups to say that they were the only ones, but this alone establishes canon that the “Scooby” of the group isn’t always paired with the group’s “Shaggy”. In fact, according to Scoobypedia, (Link here) the Benevolent Lodge of Mystery is one of the groups that DIDN’T have a terrible fate befall them. In fact, they have probably the most complete history on the wiki apart from of course Mystery Incorporated and the Original Mystery Incorporated. They were supposedly active for decades, may or may not have contributed to the start of World War One (not kidding - check the wiki), and they split up amicably after Mr. Peaches passed away due to complications of old age.
And the Benevolent Lodge of Mystery isn't the only group that diverges from "the pattern".
Tumblr media
Take the Darrow family, aka the Mystery Fellowship into consideration. They hardly resemble the other groups at all because they’re made up of an older husband, wife, their teenage daughter, and young son. And all that’s known about their animal, Whiskers, is that he was the family cat. So he may not have been paired with any singular member.
Tumblr media
Also take the Mystery Gang into consideration. They hardly resemble Mystery Inc., and they were all girls!
Tumblr media
Or the Fraternitas Mysterium, who also hardly resemble Mystery Inc, and were all guys.
My point is that the pattern is definitely there, but even in the canon material, every group has diverging traits that make them unique.
The Original Mystery Incorporated and the new Mystery Incorporated likely only resemble each other so closely because that was the best storytelling decision by the writers: their close similarities and stark differences establish them as literary foils to each other. (If you don't know what a foil characters are in storytelling or otherwise want to clarify your knowledge, here's a link) And even then, they aren't cookie cutter, copy/paste mirror images of each other. If they were, then Professor Pericles would be an adorable goofball like Scooby, and Cassidy (who is Velma's equivalent) would be the genius (aka: "big fat insecure know-it all", as Danny Darrow put it) of the group who went nuts and turned on everyone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So taking all of that into consideration, "the pattern" isn't as clear-cut as it appears. Though I admit, it is a bit of a stretch that the Mystery Skulls fit into it. But how they do and how their story connects to Crystal Cove and its curse is going to be revealed and explained in the next few chapters of 'One of Us'. Just hang on and bear with me!
Tumblr media
As for the "trifecta", the reason why Arthur's is the one that's intact is because he is really the member of the Mystery Skulls who "conforms" to "the pattern" the most. He's the reluctant paranormal investigator - the skinny "scaredy cat" whose courage comes out when it counts. Just looking at him you can see his clear Shaggy inspiration, just like how Ricky was obviously based on Shaggy for the purpose of SDMI. Also like Shaggy, Arthur may not be paired with Mystery but he does love animals, as evidenced by his pet hamster, Galahad.
As to how Lewis, Vivi, and Mystery don't conform to the pattern and therefore their trifecta is "broken", those who are familiar with Mystery Skulls lore may be able to figure out why, but I'm not going to spell it out explicitly here because that would be a major spoiler.
Sorry if this was a lot, but the lore of SDMI is kind of complicated, so there was a lot of explaining to do. I hope I answered your question and that this clears things up for others who may be enjoying 'One of Us' as well.
Chapter 14 is getting closer and closer to completion, so stay tuned! I can't wait to share it with you all!

What's New, Scooby-Doo? (March 2004)
When Scooby-Doo sees the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner is heard by saying, “Meep! Meep!”, which confuses Scooby-Doo, who repeats the phrase.

Wild thing about that character blog is that like. One of their top posts is Palutena from every single appearance. So while White Luna is the only available option on Scoobypedia, yes, it's not like they won't go to multiple sources for their posts!!

Scooby-Doo! Moon Monster Madness | Scoobypedia | Fandom
Shaggy: Like, you get scared? (gasps) Of what?
U-Boat: "Of what"?!! Sharks, dentists, public speaking, aliens, mines, the IRS, being in space! Lots of things!! Sometimes it's all in your head, though. The trick is finding something that helps you deal with it.
Scooby: Like food.
U-Boat: Like music.
Scooby and Shaggy: Or food.
U-Boat: Or exercise.
Scooby and Shaggy: Or food.
U-Boat: Or maybe even...
Scooby and Shaggy: Food!
U-Boat: Singing.
-
I'm so glad the edible has kicked in, because the character breaking into a beautiful operatic song about how "fear is just a word" is one of the funniest and most profound unironic moments of cartoon wisdom I've seen since maybe Adventure Time. And this Scooby Doo movie aired in 2015.

The Craft but it’s the Hex Girls
Alright I know I’m the solo little Sapphic who doesn’t really love ‘The Craft’ (1996). I’ll explain why really simply, it was directed by Andrew Fleming... a dude. AND it feels like it. To me this movie reeks of a masculine view of what powerful women and female friendships looks like.... and I just do not enjoy it.
Tumblr media
Robin Tunney plays Sarah the nice new girl who has a natural ability for magic.
Fairuza Balk plays Nancy who is loud and wild but at home she’s poor and lives with her mother and her abusive alcoholic husband.
Neve Campbell plays Bonnie is a quiet girl who was burned badly in a fire.
Rachel True plays Rochelle who is a swimmer and facing bullying and racism from other girls on her tea.
Nancy, Bonnie, and Rochelle befriend Sarah and together the four tap into the elements and become powerful witches to better their lives. Sarah gets the boy she likes (Skeet Ulrich), Nancy’s step father dies so she and her mother inherit a lot of money, Bonnie becomes beautiful, and Rochelle gets revenge on her bully.
But of course things go badly. There is fighting over boys, in-fighting between the girls, and Nancy could be the poster child for the Unstable Overpowered Woman trope is Wanda/Scarlet Witch hadn’t beat her to it. [Funny they are both witches...]. It’s every misogynist view of women.
Also it shows their problems (even big ones like racism and sexism) as a problem to be solved independently, rather then together... and as personal issues rather than major societal ones.
Women are rarely allowed powerful roles unless it’s as a witch or a mother. And when it’s a witch often they are driven mad by their power, or killed for simply existing. It sends a message: how dare you be a powerful woman.
So... what I would have prefered... is this!
Tumblr media
The Hex Girls and Daphne Blake!
According to Scoobypedia “The Hex Girls are an all-female eco-goth rock band from Oakhaven, Massachusetts.”
Thorn is the brunette. Luna is the redhead. and Dusk is the blonde.
Ok here is a group of girls in a band who are witches. They befriend a new girl, Daphne, and together become more powerful. And *outside force(s)* cause problems for the quartette who work together as friends to overcome them. Like Star Trek! The tension for the story shouldn’t come from within the core characters but from the outside. This allows for a more healthy depiction of female friendships to be depicted.
Ok rant over, thank you for your time.

“Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!” Season 2 (1970)
Directors: Joseph Barbera, William Hanna
Tumblr media
Technique: “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!” season 2 was shot in color with a 1.33: 1 aspect ratio in a 35 mm format. It had 8 episodes, each having a run time of about 20 minutes each.
Representation:
For this blog I watched 3 episodes of the second season of “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” that was aired on the 1970s, these episodes being “Nowhere to Hyde”, “Scooby's Night with a Frozen Fright” and “Don't Fool with a Phantom”. Each being in different circumstances but having the same end goal, to solve a mystery regarding a monster or ghost.
1.- “Nowhere to Hyde” starts by showing us Hyde, a ghost who terrorizes the city at night and steals valuable jewels, while running away from the crime he gets on the Mystery Machine leading to the gang finding him out and pursuing him to a mansion where they find the owner Dr. Jekyll and his maid Helga. As the gang investigates, they find a lot of evidence pointing to Helga until they find the most important piece, giving away to Dr. Jekyll guilt, helping them catch the ghost and solve the mystery.
Tumblr media
2.- “Scooby's Night with a Frozen Fright” during a fishing trip Shaggy fishes out a huge block of ice with a caveman on the inside that they take to the local aquarium, Oceanland, where they meet Professor Ingstrom and Professor Wayne to which they give the caveman to. Sometime after leaving Shaggy notices, he had forgotten something in the aquarium making it necessary to return to it, when they arrive, they notice that the caveman had been freed, making the gang take action to find the roaming caveman who ended up being Professor Wayne who was looking to steal Professor Ingstorm´s new invention that allowed for anyone to communicate with sea life.
Tumblr media
3.- “Don’t Fool with a Phantom” presents the gang having a dance contest on TV lead by Johnny Sands when suddenly they are interrupted by a ghost called the Wax Phantom giving an end to the contest destroying everything around and kidnaping Johnny Sands. Leading to an investigation on possible suspects these ones being Johnny Sands, and Mr. Grisby that after an argument with Johnny Sands promised to take his revenge. After a lot of investigation, the gang is able to capture the Wax Phantom who ended up being the TV manager who intended to run away to South America with the money he had stolen from the Johnny Sands Show.
Tumblr media
All these animations depict The Mystery Gang which is conformed by Scooby-Doo, Shaggy Rogers, Velma Dinkley, Fred Jones, and Daphne Blake meanwhile also presenting us new characters every episode to push the narrative forward.
Tumblr media
Reception:
Scooby-Doo as a whole was a total hit for Hanna-Barbara making for a great steppingstone for the company, it was numbered 49th on the “100 Greatest Cartoons” collection in the UK. The Scooby-Doo saga continues to move forward, growing and expanding in its stories.
Ever since I remember I have always loved Scooby-Doo, so rewatching these episodes gave me a lot of nostalgia together with the laughs I used to have back then about the silliest things.  Looking back on it I found more appreciation and understanding for some of its contents in different ways.
I found the specific episodes on Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! season 2 | Scoobypedia | Fandom and watched them on YouTube after.
