Okay. So here's something that tickles my brain every time I watch Memento Mori. Mulder tells Scully in the hospital hallway that he got scared when he couldn't find her in her room and read some of what she wrote. Like, we saw him pick up her journal earlier and skim it, right?

But what if... What if, during those many hours Scully was in with Penny Northern, Mulder got bored sitting in that hard and dinky chair in the hallway, wandered back to her room and didn't read some, but all of what she wrote? And I wonder if maybe that was the night it dawned on him that Scully loved him. I mean, really loved him.

Has anyone written a fic exploring that particular scenario? Because I'd be down to read something like that. If not, gotta admit the muse is especially intrigued. But she's been such a fickle bitch the last year or so that I can't depend on her anymore.
