Consider this a soft launch cuz i know it's not live on ALL services yet, but you can now listen to the introduction episode of Caro's podcast, Mil-Liminal on Youtube, Podcast Addict, Podbean, and Spotify, and probably more cuz idk how distribution works.

There will be a full length episode soon, but for now, take a listen to the intro, and if you like it, share it to your friends to help people find it! I think what’s really frustrating about the Scary situation is how unbelievably different the Discourse on social media would look if literally the only difference was that she was a boy.

Like, picture this: a teenage boy with a deadbeat dad is manipulated and isolated by his evil pseudo-father figure into betraying his friends in service to some bigger mission. He’s meaner than usual the next time they meet, but during a journey through everyone’s inner demons we get a deeper glimpse into the source of his daddy issues and find out that the person who makes him angriest is himself.

The poor little meow-meowing and thinkpieces in his defense today would be UNREAL. Olympic gold level mental gymnastics to justify his behavior.

And it would be even worse if ALL the genders were reversed and it was three teen girls angrily confronting their angsty, misunderstood, emotionally vulnerable former guy friend. Keep every word the same and the teens’ anger at the betrayal every bit as justified, and a sizeable chunk of the fandom would still be sending themselves to the eighth level of hell over girl!Link right now.

hey, i've had 'torso' bookmarked for years, and randomly thought about it again and wanted to read it- but the link is broken, it was on your old tumblr. is there anywhere else to read it? or would i just have to listen to one of the readings of it other people have done?

Now if THAT isn't a blast from the past! I haven't thought about my short horror work in a MINUTE. 😅

The old writer blog is indeed gone so I don't think the print version is out there unless you can find it on reddit, but luckily there were some lovely lovely people who produced audio versions of both "Torso" and "Knock Knock." For "Torso," I recommend the version put out by The NoSleep Podcast (Season 4, Ep 8). They REALLY went all in and brought it to life in all its' gruesome glory.

So Dungeons and Daddies Season 2 is really just taking the average coming-of-age story and making it to every horrifying extreme, huh.

It is that moment in which you realize your parents don't know what they're doing any better than you do, and people present it like it's something comforting, but it's just even more terrifying because there really, really is no right answer. It's realizing that no, love isn't enough, sometimes you love your family and it just made everything worse. Everyone who came before you fucked things up even when they were trying to make things better, and unfucking everything just seems impossible, but not even trying is such a depressing option, and one your kids will never be able to forgive you for.

I have many feelings on this.

I was about to announce that tma doesn't scare me anymore, then Lost John's Cave post statement happened! Now I'm sad and terrified! That recording at the end were the most disturbing few seconds of my life!
