beauty and the beast makes so much sense as an aspec fairy tale. the fantasy of being loved for who you are and what you do rather than some nebulous force of attraction? love being a gradual process strengthened by acts of kindness and a willingness to change for the better? a dashing furry with a heart of gold gifting you a gigantic library in his magic castle, far away from the judgments and expectations of society? i'm sharing custody with the monsterfuckers for this one

Thanks for checking up on me. My family and I are safe thankfully. For now the terms of ceasefire are upheld by both iran and israeli government but the threats of another large scale attack remains. Things are still not fully back to normal here, the schools and universities are still closed and the exams are postponed to next month. I'm as uncertain about future as I was a month ago but it's a relief that right now there's no active war happening
@luminalunii97
Sorry to ping you, this is a sideblog so I couldn't drop in your inbox, but how are things going in Iran? Are you and your family okay? I've been reading the news, but I haven't seen much from Iranians in Iran for awhile, and that makes me nervous.

Altona Museum, Hamburg, Germany – Figurehead Hall, by Ulrike Pfeiffer
After a shipwreck, often only the figurehead remained intact or was washed ashore, embodying the soul of the ship and the focus of the crew's beliefs and superstitions. Many of the figures on display in the museum have been to sea and were recovered after the ship sank.
These figures are all from the 17th to 19th centuries and were carefully restored after being acquired.

You are allowed to start over. As many times as it takes. Each time you do, you bring more wisdom, more courage, and more of your true self.

Trans women are just strictly superior at everything I guess.
Truly speechless at this. "Cis women are so dainty and fragile that moving chess pieces for too long exhausts them."
Please acquire some self-respect (and maybe learn statistics). I am taking psychic damage over here.
So much of transphobia is just exaggerated sexism (or reheated homophobia).
#I'm so offended I can't even put it into words#misogyny#transphobia#they've really lost the plot#“women are inherently weak and stupid” is what this says#protecting women's rights my ass

landpalestine The only artist we should be talking about today is Palestinian artist Frans (Amina) al-Salmi who was murdered by Israel, along with 29 other people, in a café in Gaza today.

my biggest issue with the httyd live action-and just about any live action reboot is that it seems that the live action adaptations are being made to make the original “better”? like, so many people talk about a live action spiderverse, a live action hercules, a live action PRINCE OF EGYPT (dont piss me OFF.)-like animation is a beautiful work of art, and for some reason putting real people and cgi in it is supposed to be an “upgrade”? im probably being that friend that’s too woke or whatever, but i just think it’s so disrespectful to act like something that takes so much time and effort and energy is immediately considered as lower because it is animated. animation is beautiful, and it is one of the most heartfelt art forms there are, and erasing that for the sake of a cash grab is downright degrading to animation as a medium.

One of the common mistakes I see for people relying on "AI" (LLMs and image generators) is that they think the AI they're interacting with is capable of thought and reason. It's not. This is why using AI to write essays or answer questions is a really bad idea because it's not doing so in any meaningful or thoughtful way. All it's doing is producing the statistically most likely expected output to the input.
This is why you can ask ChatGPT "is mayonnaise a palindrome?" and it will respond "No it's not." but then you ask "Are you sure? I think it is" and it will respond "Actually it is! Mayonnaise is spelled the same backward as it is forward"
All it's doing is trying to sound like it's providing a correct answer. It doesn't actually know what a palindrome is even if it has a function capable of checking for palindromes (it doesn't). It's not "Artificial Intelligence" by any meaning of the term, it's just called AI because that's a discipline of programming. It doesn't inherently mean it has intelligence.
So if you use an AI and expect it to make something that's been made with careful thought or consideration, you're gonna get fucked over. It's not even a quality issue. It just can't consistently produce things of value because there's no understanding there. It doesn't "know" because it can't "know".

Hi lumi, fellow iranian here. This is my first time sending an ask (at least from what i recall since i have terrible memory).
Did you hear about the regime breaking the ceasfire?
I feel so mad that i cant even fathom it. Like i couldnt care less about what ever that happens to the regime's goons, but i once again feel like us people are being throw under the bus because of it. I really hope this doesnt escalate further but i doubt it....
And please be careful out there, i dont have the power to protect anyone, so i can only hope you are safe.
Hey, I don't know why I didn't see this ask earlier so sorry for late reply. But yeah I got so worried then and I'm still worried now. Both the israeli army and IR are speaking like they're anticipating war again. The flight bans are still in place and many places are still closed or half closed. This semi warzone situation is keeping me stressed and on my toes.
I hope the worst case scenario doesn't happen. Stay safe wherever you are <3
