modern au din djarin is even crazier than his canon self???? like:

din djarin lives in his car: a shady, clunking, #vanlife beast that seems to have new license plates every time he rolls into town. it’s clear he sleeps in it. when you google him, nothing comes up; no address, place of employment, nothing — an impossibility in a digital age. you live in a desert, yet he wears a pristine armani suit; you think maybe that’s all he wears, because you’ve never seen him in anything else. he only drops his van off at your mechanic shop after hours; you’ve never seen his face, but one time you saw the line of his chin catch the glow of a street light before he slid back into his van, and for a moment you swore you saw blood. every week there are new bullet holes in the van’s bumper, but when you ask him what he does for a living, he does not answer. he does not say anything, ever. and then one day he shows up for a late night repair and there’s a shotgun in the driver’s seat, a baby in a car seat in the back, and what sounds suspiciously like a weeping man in the trunk. you ask about the baby. he says “what baby” and pays you double what your routine body paint/part swap combo is worth. you stop asking questions after that.

Gauging Interest:

So....

....i actually got inspired to consider doing this project by my Star Wars fic, Travel Buddies, which has reached a large enough audience i often wonder of any people who might struggle to read through longer chapters, or who would love to listen and have the mental space to, but don't have the time to stare at a screen actually reading.

I sometimes throw my own stories on a text-to-speech reading to listen to while I'm physically busy doing cleaning or work or art or other tasks, and while i can fall into the story, sometimes that fake voice breaks my immersion with weird pronunciations of names and such, and I wanted to just do a reading outright.

My biggest hangup... i SUCK at voice acting. I used to practice it all the time as a kid and then i got teased all the time because i just fucking. If someone has an accent and I'm talking to them it's a struggle to not pick it up, it's not even intentional i just do it and my friends loved making me talk British or Aussie (which was often because friends in that group were in Britan and Australia xD) before i had to GO TO CLASS OR WORK FUCK

I miss it

I strangled it out of myself being self conscious without even realizing that and i kinda want fix that. I'm not the greatest I'll never be the best but i can talk decent.

I don't necessarily need to make a dedicated published project out of my practice though, so my question is-- would anyone wish to hear an audio book of my fanfics? I would be doing all of them, though I'd likely start with Leaking Spark and Travel Buddies as they have the easiest flow for me to read without getting self conscious.

Din Djarin is so good at hunting because he understands terror and hiding. That understanding has shaped him. It never goes away, the fear. So he weaponizes it. Builds his whole existence around it.

One of the things I think this season really suffered from was lack of a physically present villain and MAN I am so annoyed it took them until now to dust off Moff Gideon and get him back in the game. He was excellent in today's episode and having him back to love to hate immediately boosts my interest in the show. To reintroduce him wearing beskar armor as a way to desecrate and mock Mandalorian culture was actually one of the best creative decisions in the entire show so far. This man is unhinged. He is despicable. He is evil.

Mandalore the Anime

Have we ever considered that the Mandalorian history since the days before the exile out from the core to present aby would make a genuinely epic shonen anime.

We have the leaders all taking on badass names like Mand'alore the Indominable, we have back stabbings and betrayals because they.re all mandalorians. And even better the story arcs an literally just be the warriors being space vikings versing bigger and bigger threats as their influence on the galaxy expands.

They go from exiled, weak, foolish aliens to a powerful strong religion based organization the Taung founded and the majority humans would finish.

it could go for seasons and every season could follow the same mandalorian but reincarnated or smth because it is starwars and a lot of freaky stuff happens in canon and legends.

On top of it all we could get to see all the awesome moments we love, like revan, obitine, the purge because i want to see it, and the finale season of how the shattered mandalorians have begun to regrouped to try survive together again.

plus to have the lovely experience of subtitles for everyone regardless of language make the entire thing mando'a, im just saying its an actual language that we dont get to see very much in any of the movies or animated and live action series.

I'm just saying, id watch twenty seasons of armored space vikings pillage planets and advance to harder enemies until they start fighting jedi and sith.
