Yet another entry into my superhero au, I just wanted to draw Philza being a scary villain.

Also I couldn't pass the opportunity to draw younger Phil with his emo hair.

chapter summary:

Don’t go to sleep, he thinks. Don’t. Something is wrong.

Across the rooftop, the light’s gotten brighter. Bigger. It’s almost like someone’s opened the door, and the stairwell light is flooding out. It’s hard for Tommy to focus on it, though. His gaze keeps slipping back to the growing pool of red on the ground in front of him.

“Gold?”

Wilbur? What is he doing here?

It’s the last thing Tommy thinks before his mind spins, and his eyes slip closed.

Au where SBI are heroes and Tommy becomes a villain to spend time with them

Explanation:

Basically Phil, Wilbur, and Techno are all superheroes, the best ones in the city, but because they're so busy saving lives all the time they accidentally start to neglect their youngest, Tommy. So Tommy realizes that the only way to see his family is when they're at work.

The problem is that Phil, Techno, and Wilbur don't want to let tommy become a hero since they don't want him to get hurt

So Tommy becomes a villain instead

Turns out he's a bit too good at being a villain, because his family can never catch him.

Cue his family neglecting Tommy more, but spending more time trying to catch this new villain who just seems to know exactly how to outsmart them.

Tommy realizes that he can be himself around his family when he's the villain, loud laugh, funny jokes that annoy them.. all without the tension and guilt that all of them seem to have around him. So Tommy stops bothering to try and spend time with his family as a civilian, after all, all he needs to do is blow up an entire building and his family will come.

I really like kind of reverse hero-villain thing. So the idea with this is basaicaly that you have this world where everyone has superpowers, some stronger than others (the maximum level being 20- that level is extremly rare). Those powers can 'wake up' at any point of life but most comonly between the ages 0 and 25. Now if you have power above the level 12, you are legally obliged to join the hero force. They serve as sort of police/army. They have to live outside of the rest of society which helps to make them into a legends of sorts, they live in often terrible conditions and have to follow strict rules. They go on missions and for every successful mission, they get a reward but for a failed one they are punished. The villains on the other hand are not a unified group. Villain is basically anyone who is not hero but possesses enought power (doesn't have to be magical) to be a threat. They mostly work as individuals or form smaller groups (thought there are some exceptions from that). All of sbi have high level of power. Wilbur's power is placebo power which means you have the power other people believe you have. I believe the other powers don't need explaining Phil is Will's father and Techno and Tommy are niot related to them (age wise Techno is between Philza and Wilbur and Tommy is little bit youger than will) Phil got his powers around the age of 23 but didn't won't to join the heros so he hid them. Wilbur got his power around the age of 19. He told Philza he has the same powers as him as they are often hereditary so he would believe him easily. later he also got fire and low persuassion powers (all from the placebo power). He decided to join the heros but promised Phil to not speak of his powers. From that moment on, his contact with phil (or anyone else) was cut. Phil tried to contact him multiple times but unsuccessfully and after some time he decided that he needs to know what's going on and broke into the place Will was at (turning himself into a villain) Shortly before that, Will caussed failure of some mission and also broke some of the important rules of the heros and was beaten up and tortured as a punishment. When Phil found him he was dying, but he managed to heal him. After that they both became villains. Wilbur knew techno (a villain) from his time as a hero and they joined with him. Tommy is a young hero who is sent to capture the trio. They immediately take liking in him and are curently trying to convince him to join them.

This is how Webb realizes he has a crush:

Poor Philza was so thrown off that he didn’t even enjoy the mass homicide. His heart just wasn’t in the divine wrath anymore.

I was chatting w a buddy about cursed character concepts, and she posited a character who has a crush on someone they deem subhuman, judge Frollo style. Internal conflict, potential catalyst for character development both positive and negative, incredibly messed up dynamics. Unfortunately my brain has one setting (thinking about Fault) and now I present one of my more cursed (completely noncanon for the love of God) thoughts:

Webb has an (extremely unrequited) crush on scp Philza

Does it completely ruin his character? Yes. However…I can’t stop thinking about it. Evidence (with Fault spoilers of course):

Webb uses pet names for Philza (refuses to acknowledge he’s a person with an actual name)

They watch movies together (videos of Philza’s kids being abused)

Tries to get alone time with Philza (by separating him from his family)

Monologues about how much he’ll miss their relationship while amnesticized Philza blinks at him.

if you think about it the amnestics arc was basically Webb reloading on a dating sim to get the dialogue tree right. by giving Philza a lot of irreversible brain damage.

Webb lounges in his house drinking whiskey and thinking about Philza (murdering all of his friends and coworkers).

Webb is literally bisexual and ”””experimenting””” on Philza its basically canon already.

Philza, for his part, despises Webb and is waiting for the first opportunity to torture him to death. Which....oh you're consumed by vengeance? So you spend all day thinking about another man??

They're so. so clearly enemies to. enemies to lo. Okay I can't say it without choking but you know what I mean. Presumably. Look I'll be level, my publisher said I had to add romance to Fault to appeal to more demographics and I'm a struggling aroace. This is what y'all like, right? Villain x Hero? Attempted murder is homoerotic or something?

For me, if you wanna write an AU or a fanfic or draw some fanart where Phil is Tommy's dad. then that's cool. you do you. But he's not his dad in canon?? And trying to force that label onto him diminishes a lot of his character and portrays him in a villainous light that I don't think the character deserves. People should just enjoy the chad badass that is c!Phil.

oh yeah like. a lot of the art is cool. but i've honestly grown to hate the sbi fd in dsmp because even the fanfic and some of the art reduces phils character to just Dad and im tired. he's a war criminal

ohmyGOD i could talk about this one for so long its so fun. it has vigilante BAMF benchtrio and a super interesting mystery going on the entire time. plus most of the secret identity names are uncommon ones, (like starsteel and spectro) so instead of being able to figure out who everyone is through context clues, the reader doesn't know anyone's real identity until tommy learns it, which makes it a super intriguing read (~44k, unfinished)

hey would it be cool if i could make fanart/a fandesign of how i think alien prince ranboo looks like? dc au made my brain go brrr in joy and i can't help myself.

Also, another note, even though the crashed space ship was found empty, now they're on the look out for alien lifeforms, also doubt ranboo left that ship without a scratch (possibly small amount of blood from injuries?). They don't know of whatever came out of that ship is dangerous or not.

And when it comes to sneaking out with Tubbo, it's usually done at night so Ranboo doesn't attract any attention (Tubbo made him take off anything that could easily give him away very early on, like maybe some alien crown? he is royalty afterall). The one time they got caught Ranboo was just mistaken as a cosplayer.

Maybe one time they get caught by a hero in their off time? They'd try and leave as quickly as possible but im pretty sure if you see a son of a villain with a tall alien you'd be suspicious as all hell, especially when they're looking for a possible alien. Would be pretty funny if it was one of the SBI, getting seen by one of the big heroes would be an awkward situation.

Honestly, that’d be awesome. Would you be willing to @ me so I can see it, cause I’d love to, if that’s fine with you?

Also, blood from injuries! We all know how that ends in DC! Clone! Maybe Michael, who’s mixed with other alien blood, or even Ranbutler or John John, mixed with human blood.

Ranboo and Tubbo go out at random times, to make sure nobody notices a pattern, but nights are definitely a favorite of there’s, when the two can run around under the cover of night exploring the city, unseen and unbothered as most others sleep.

Tubbo could probably make him some sort of device to make him look human, like projecting a hologram, maybe? Of course, cosplayer works at first, but not so much once people catch him teleporting, or floating(?). 

And that is an encounter that would definitely not end well. Ranboo would most certainly not take well to a hero rolling up and acting passive aggressive towards his new friend-he doesn’t really get why Earthlings insist upon being so secretive about their emotions(frankly, it seems silly to him), but he’s been around Tubbo long enough by now to read him, and this guy is making him upset. 

If he isn’t immediately acting passive-aggressive right back, Ranboo straight up scoops Tubbo up and teleports out. If the mentioned hero goes home with a view new scratches and bruises than he left with, well.

You shouldn’t be rude to people who haven’t done anything to you.

Also, as a bonus: Consider alien prince Ranboo getting excited about the city rats and trying to take them home. One time he actually does manage to sneak a possum into Tubbo’s room, and you can probably guess how that goes. 

Meanwhile Ranbob keeps trying to pet all the big cats he sees in the mountains-he’s not sure why his new Earth friends are freaking out about it, didn’t they say cats were common domestic pets here??
