a month after my new friend lobana (@lobana2001) got her bachelor's in english translation, israel's bloodthirsty attacks on gaza began. she also recently became an aunt to baby aziz. it should be a time of celebration for her, but, instead, she lives in a tent with the rest of her family and is forced to worry about whether her newborn nephew will stay warm enough as winter settles in.

her sister (nahariya) and her husband biggest problem should be baby aziz teething, not if they can afford to feed both themselves and the baby--if they can afford anything at all. mohammed should be continuing his studies in computer science, but his university was destroyed.

mamdouh should be able to devote his complete attention to his studies in medicine in egypt, but, with his family trapped in gaza, how can he?

luqman (16) and asim (14) should be learning who they are, making new friends and good memories, and finding their place in the world. bayna (4) and aziz (infant) shouldn't have to know fear at all!

and that's not to mention the parents, naseem and reem, who are under unimaginable levels of stress trying to help their children through this literal nightmare. please donate anything you can.

I wish epilepsy was taken more seriously because I literally see constant untagged and extreme strobe, especially on tiktok but even on YouTube. I have a filter but it does not work on tiktok, it only blocks regular videos. I’m still suffering from the seizure I had around 5 hours ago and my head feels likes it’s going to explode. Please, please, tag properly. I don’t wanna hear a single ‘but trigger warnings are bad!!!’, epilepsy is serious and seizures can kill.

I think about Nunemaker's Parable a lot in relation to Mephone, but ESPECIALLY the line "Weapons built against me, well they all seem to fail, But weapons built against my home they always will prevail." GOD it's so Mephone. The dude has 'lose everything you love over and over again' curse and it sucks so bad. His love for his home, for his creator, all wiped away, all abandoned because he realized how toxic it was and that it WOULD kill him eventually. His love for his show, his own built home, broken, ended-- Shows over! And his contestants? The home he had within the relationships he'd built? Decimated. He's alive. There's no happy ending in which he doesn't survive. He can't die (Sure, in canon theres the threat-- But he IS the protagonist of II. He /by the rules of the universe/ cannot die.) but everyone he loves? everything he loves? That's fair game.
