You’d called and text multiple times but mat hadn’t even acknowledged your existence since you got out of his car.

You watched the games, wearing the right jersey this time.

Your heart still clenched everytime he was interviewed by her, the jealousy in your stomach wouldn’t go away.

You were hurting without him but hurting more knowing how you’d made him feel. You didn’t want to lose Mat but you couldn’t see him coming back.

Mat on the other hand was so focused on the game. They were leading to playoffs and he couldn’t let this get to him no matter how hurt he was.

He’d seen your calls and texts but he knew it was best to steer clear or he’d say something he regretted, losing you was a guarantee then.

He was hurt, but he loved you.

They clinched. He knew you watched when he saw the orange heart text pop up on his phone.

They were to face the Rangers in round one and Mat wasn’t happy about it. He couldn’t see that jersey without wanting to be sick, his emotions from that night bubbling to the top again.

When playoffs roled around Sydney wasn’t sure where you stood with Mat and was warned not to ask him so she called you.

“Playoff jacket?”

“Syd…” you sighed

“C’mon! You’re still together right?”

You couldn’t argue with her, she was persistent so you accepted. Still unsure you’d actually be there for the game.

Game one rolled around and you didn’t go, you couldn’t bring yourself to do it.

Mat still wasn’t talking to you and you were breaking your own heart thinking about it.

Mat had contempt texting you, asking if you’d be there but he couldn’t do it. He did ask Sydney to get you tickets, to make sure there was space in the family box for you.

You didn’t show up. Not game one, two, three or four where they swept the rangers. You weren’t there.

He looked for you in the stands everytime but he couldn’t see you.

The jacket Syd had made lay over the back of a chair downstairs haunting him everytime he passed it.

When they won everyone decided to go to the bar, they had to celebrate. Mat just wanted to see you. He was tired of not having you here, he needed you.

So he grabbed the jacket and headed for his car only to be accosted by his teammates to join them at the bar. He agreed, one drink.

One drink and then he was going to be knocking your door and winning you back.

You watched the game, sitting in your islanders #13 jersey. You were so proud of him.

You stood defeated in the middle of the bar, the sleeves too long on your jersey scrunched in your hands and tears lined your eyes.

“Nothing to worry about, huh?”

Mat was infront of you now “It’s not hers-“

“No Mat, it’s mine and you gave her it! She’s literally wearing you- know what? I can’t do this” you stated, pulling off the jersey you had on and throwing it to the floor before walking out.

He followed you, begging you to listen “Baby please-“

When he walked back into the bar all he could see was his name on the jersey laying on the floor being trampled over, feeling a lot like his heart.

robins 2-5 looking at robin 1. the hero worship, the love they have for dick grayson. they want to live up to “the golden boy” “the golden standard”. they want to make him proud.

but dick grayson himself? he looks at batman, in his eyes he doesn’t live up to his mentor. sure he thinks he’s good, but it’s not like he thinks he’s the best. to himself, he isn’t “the golden child”, he’s not “the golden standard”, there’s too many mistakes, too many sins, to make him view himself the way others view him

There's actually a time when Damian is feuding with Tim about something and he's like Grayson is the "Golden Child", Todd is the "Black Sheep", and you're something something. He didn't actually say "something something" but you get the point. Damian doesn't like to be forthcoming with his words, but - "We were the best, Richard. No matter what anyone thinks." THOSE WORDS CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH. The fact that Damian literally calls him the golden child tho is literally ascending me. He loves his dad.

Jason gets fear-gassed once in Truth & Justice (2021) comic and it reveals that one his worst fears has always been about living up to the massive legacy Dick left behind. There's a change in the way Dick is portrayed because Jason is terrified of Nightwing, not Dick. Because he knows that Dick loves him and stuff but Nightwing is downright petrifiying. Because Nightwing and as Robin, Dick created the firsts for everything. The first partner, the first side-kick, the person who created their world. Not just Jason's but Dick opened up the gateway to Every. Single. Hero. That came after him. And he did it perfectly. He excelled in every aspect imaginable and then surpassed them to create the golden standard that every single person that came after strived to touch. Not just for what they should do, but who they should be.

Tim straight up tells Dick to his face every time that Dick is the best robin that ever existed. No squalms, no hesitation, it's just pure fact for Tim. There is simply, no one better.

Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War: Scorched Earth

Stephanie didn't have a lot of interactions with Dick and she wasn't close to him but she still had a huge deal of respect for him. It was almost deference, the way she treated him. I considered that it might be because he was Batman but she treated Batman very differently than she treated Dick!bats.

But despite literally every single Robin thinking how perfect Dick is, how unattainable he set the standards, Dick himself feels so pale in comparison to his mentor.

I wrote this post a long while back regarding Dick's thoughts of insecurities about bruce to the tune of Toxic Thoughts by Faith Marie which pretty much encapsulates all his worries. But the thing is, even Bruce tells dick how amazing he is and he's so much better than him, and he means it.

There's a time when Bruce fights each of his former robins and he takes them all down easily but he's trekking his way to the last one and he's says "Attack of the Robins, that leaves only the first one. Hand-to-hand, the toughest of them all." He says this all in his mind. Which means when he tells Dick he's better, he really means it but Dick? Dick will never, ever understand the weight of Bruce's sincerity towards him. He always thinks he's not a good enough leader, good enough detective, good enough whatever there is. In his mind he will never be good as Bruce in anyway because for him Bruce is the best person to ever exist. For him, despite everyone in the entire superhero community exalting him and singing his praises, he feels he'll never be like his hero.

Velvette had met Y/n around three years ago. The sinner hadn't been in hell for long when she stumbled upon them. They weren't the prettiest nor the strongest demon, actually they were pretty weak but something pulled Velvette to them. One thing led to another and they started dating.

To say her colleagues hated their new-found love was an understatement, Vox and Val hated her new partner. Velvette would dote on them, buy them new clothes and show them of on all her socials. According to Vox letting the public know about her relationship with a weak sinner would be bad for their image. One time he had even tried to hypnotise them to break up but his plan fell through.

Val on the other hand didn't like their looks and though that Velvette could do WAY better and he took every opportunity to let her know. Once he even brought in one of his contracts that was the same type of sinner, they, however, were smoking hot. Velvette actually dared to slap the Vee in the face for that one.

She always reassured her partner that they were perfect. Still, Y/n couldn’t shake the feeling that they didn’t belong by her side.

Okay, so first of all this is the mom of all these children. Her husband was Edmund. He got stung by a bee and died, so he is no longer around.

Anthony Bridgerton

Okay, so the oldest son is Anthony. He is the current Viscount (don't ask me about British nobility, I know nothing) and is currently running the Bridgerton estate, though that is not his favorite thing to do. He had very unfortunate sideburns in season one. And he likes to shout things like "you are the bane of my existence" and "LILACS". He does have oldest child syndrome where he acts like he doesn't want to be in charge, but he totally loves being in charge and telling everyone what to do.

His wife is Kate Sharma. She is a delight, and possibly the second best character on this show (obviously after Penelope). So just remember, passionate and loud guy with Kate -- that is Anthony. Oh, and they have one child who is being born in India because Jonathan Bailey is apparently very in demand right now.

Benedict Bridgerton

Benedict is the artsy, bisexual who hangs out on the swings with Eloise. He is an actual delight, but the writers don't seem to really know what to do with him. He makes a good comedic foil to Anthony. Also they cut his hair for seasons 2 and 3 which doesn't help the whole looking the same thing. We're speculating his season is next because of a bunch of hints. In the books he falls in love with a lower class girl.

Colin Bridgerton

Colin is the sweet, sensitive (most likely demisexual) writer and world traveler. He's got some insecurity issues, a massive hero complex, and is a complete simp for his wife.

HOW HAVE YOU FOLLOWED ME FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS AND NOT KNOW WHO COLIN IS - C'MON GIRL, PAY ATTENTION

He is married to Penelope Featherington, aka Lady Whistledown, aka the best damn character on this whole show. 90% of the time, Colin is hanging off Penelope, so he honestly should be easy to spot. Also, he got her pregnant BEFORE the wedding and little Lord Feathertington was born 8 months into their marriage.

Daphne Bridgerton

She was the main character of Season 1, who looks a lot like Keira Knightly. You don't really need to worry about her, because it's doubtful that she's coming back.

She is married to the Duke - Simon Basset, Lord of Hastings or something. He enjoys licking spoons. Daphne burns for him. Again, he's not coming back so, you know, I wouldn't worry about it.

They do have a child together, a little boy I believe and I think they hinted at a second one? Idk, maybe the kids will come back to hang out with Gregory and Hyacinth at the end of the series.

Eloise Bridgerton

Probably my personal favorite Bridgerton? (Idk, Colin wormed his way up there.) She stands out because Claudia Jessie is just amazing at giving her a lot quirky mannerisms. She doesn't want to get married and is really into women's rights. She is also fucking hilarious. I would love her to be asexual, but the writers insist she's getting a love story at some point, so.... The internet would prefer her to be a lesbian. That's cool, too, but also unlikely to happen.

Eloise spends a lot of her time on swings with Benedict and in is often the third wheel with Pen and Colin (though sometimes Colin is that third wheel).

She and Penelope are BFFs. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!

Francesca Bridgerton

Francesca is SUPER into the piano(forte) and really nothing else. There's really not a whole lot to say about her other than she IS probably going to be the lesbian of the show.

She is currently married to John Stirling. The two are very quiet together and that's exactly how they want it. Don't get too attached to him, he's most likely going to die in the next season. John also has a female cousin named Michaela, whom the internet is mad about because she is a woman -- making Francesca's future love interest a woman instead of a man. I say more power to the lesbians. Calm your tits folks, it'll be fine.

Gregory Bridgerton

OMG, look how adorable this kid is. He's gonna look just like his older brothers when he grows up. They've already given him a tad more to do in Season 3, and he's been an utter delight. I'm sure he'll be great leading Season 8 when we get to it in 2034.

Hyacinth Bridgerton

The youngest Bridgerton! She is excitable and energetic and super excited about all the marriages and also KNOWS who is ending up with who and is totally down for it. She is also a sassy delight and really can't wait until she starts holding her own with Eloise!

Gogo Katsuki has it all a strong quirk, good looks, a natural genius and have a nice personality. He sounds lovable, right? He would be like:

If this is their relationship I wouldn't ship them. Why? Cause I would rather ship Izuocha because it has the same energy. Sunshine x Sunshine ☀️

Izuku with this Katsuki is not good on my opinion. Izuku is self sacrificial, so selfless and with this Katsuki who I bet would just encourage him. He would be the Deku who does his best and Gogo would just be happy for him like a good best friend 🙃

Unlike Katsuki Bakugo who knows Izuku's self-sacrificial and hate it. I'm saying this without shipping glasses but Katsuki Bakugo is perfect as he is imperfect. He has flaws, mistakes, weaknesses, and insecurities and Gogo doesn't have actual flaws except being an airhead. Gogo didn't need to have that character growth and development. I mean Gogo Katsuki could have grown to be a hero and I think that would only be his development and doesn't need to be with Izuku for that.

This video after Kacchan vs Deku 2 shows how Bakugo Katsuki makes Izuku strive to be a better hero, them being rivals. He wanted to catch up with Katsuki and vice versa. Izuku admires Katsuki's strength and Katsuki fears Izuku's heart, they are twin stars, like yin and yang and of course as All Might said "Win to Save, Save to Win". You can see All Might proud smile while looking at them.

Now, this sketch of Hori which is one of my fave shows how Izuku keeps chasing after Katsuki and wants to be the best hero with him. Look how he ran so hard with all of his might. He wants to catch up with Katsuki so bad, wants to be closer which he achieves eventually. Even with the bullying it never stops Izuku from dreaming of becoming a hero. I also like to add that Katsuki also chases after Izuku because both of them think one is ahead of the other shown in chp 362.

Let's go back to Gogo Katsuki. Gogo is a genius so obviously he is talented and good with everything and definitely supportive. So Izuku being quirkless is not an issue to Gogo cause he is nice so I think he would say that Izuku can still be a hero. And Izuku would be happy with that. He wouldn't push himself so hard or might push himself but either way, Gogo said he would be a hero and Izuku would believe it. Izuku doesn't need to do his very best to chase Katsuki cause he has his acceptance already so end of story 😟

There would be no "I keep chasing after you and What would Kacchan do" then no romantic rain, no heart issue, Katsuki apology would never happen, not Katsuki being Izuku's hero or vice versa, no Katsuki being sacrifice or him dying for Izuku cause why would he do that when he trust Izuku could do anything. They just don't bring the best out of each other. And we would never have Izuku looking at Katsuki with awe and wanted to be closer cause they are already close. They'll just be childhood friends and classmates. MHA would never be the same.

Just looking at this it pisses me off. I understand Horikoshi why it angers him. Katsuki has an explosion quirk and should have an explosive personality but Gogo is just a burst of sunshine and just perfect 😂

With Gogo Katsuki I don't think Izuku would see him as his image of victory (why would he when Katsuki G is nice and won't fight and I bet is friendly with everyone) but rather a supportive best friend, I can see them being rivals, has a friendly rivalry like Asta and Yuno. So I would never ship them and I would agree with people saying they are like brothers.

Katsuki Bakugo is a complex character and I love him for that. Katsuki Gogo would be a good character but he would never achieve as much popularity as Katsuki Bakugo who is always number one on popularity polls. Horikoshi is amazing on writing Katsuki Bakugo's character and personality. Also, Gogo Katsuki should be with prototype Izuku or Yamikumo cause they have contrast in their personality so they are good with each other, unlike Gogo and Izuku.

Lastly, I love Katsuki being a tsundere and I would never appreciate his genuine smile if he was Gogo who is a cheery person that always smiling 🥹

As I end this I would like to add, we won't have our Izuku Midoriya we know today without Katsuki Bakugo. They are who they are right now because of each other and their experiences 🧡💚

Logan Sargeant Personality and Career Tarot Analysis

Disclaimer: This is for entertainment purposes only, nothing observed or taken away from this should be considered fact. As a reminder, I know fuck all about Formula 1, I just like fast cars and have a dumb amount of knowledge of astrology and tarot. 

This one is just for me, no one asked for this, but guess what? I want this. I have a soft spot for Logan because honestly, he reminds me of a kicked puppy and I kind of want to wrap him up in a blanket and give him some spiked hot chocolate and make sure this child feels love and happiness for once in his goddamn life. 

My knowledge is limited, but from everything I have read, Logan is being mistreated, and I hate that. Yeah, this is more for me than anyone else at this point. I have a soft spot for him because he’s an American, but my husband's name is also Logan, I am out here collecting men named Logan.  Anyways, I stuck with the personality questions just to kind of see what baseline I could establish, but I also wanted to see what his future looked like, and I pulled two cards for this, for his current career and his future career. I’m going to work on his birth chart too, which will probably be uploaded later today or tomorrow (did anyone ask for this? No.). 

What I will say about his reading is that there are A LOT of Pentacles, like an overwhelming amount. Pentacles are very earth-focused energy, with an emphasis on the home, family, and things of value. I think that it is fair to say that these are some of the most important things for Logan, the things that he holds closest to him. It’s probably the things he takes into consideration when making decisions. 

Outward personality - Knight of Pentacles

I actually really love this card for the outward personality, because it’s such a stubborn and strong card. I believe that we see this card come through in how he handles everything that is thrown at him, he remains mature and levelheaded through everything. There is a stubborn and dedicated nature here, that almost borders on obsessive. I get the sense that everyone who meets Logan can immediately see his dedication and hardworking nature, how dedicated he is to his career, and being the best that he possibly can be. 

Unfortunately, I think he was put in a position where he was not utilized or given the tools that he needed to actually meet the standards that he set for himself. While we are usually our own worst enemies, I get the feeling that he destroys himself because he isn’t meeting his own standards that he has set for himself. 

Inward personality - Four of Pentacle, reversed 

So this one hurts a little because it’s the card of possession, control, and resisting change. I get the sense that Logan holds things close to his heart and feels deeply. The resisting of change was something that was probably learned over time and almost became a defense mechanism. This card really points to there being a lot of insecurity and the need to hold onto things when they feel good or beneficial. Change is inevitable, especially with the career that he is in, but when it does happen, it takes longer for it to feel like reality. 

Current career - Four of Swords 

I like this for his current career, it’s reflective of preparations, and contemplation. Obviously, there is a lot of unknowns going on with his career, and there is a hell of a lot of speculation going on. A lot is happening in the background, to work through the next steps and build a plan. It’s something that isn’t being taken lightly at all, whatever choice he makes, it’s going to be something that he has thought about for long periods and likely has had long discussions about with those that he feels closest with. 

This has me feeling like he is in a transitional period in terms of his career, and he’s just setting the future up for it to be something amazing. 

Future career - Two of Pentacles, reversed 

I don’t mind this being reversed when it comes to the future career, because this is about flexibility, adaptability, and finding fun in things. I think that this is a really good indicator of how things are going to go. I have a feeling that Logan already knows what the plan is, but he is holding it close and not sharing those details with everyone. I think that there is a shift in his priorities, I think there is going to be a huge emphasis on his wellbeing, and this is going to be a priority for him. He is going to shift into something that makes him happy, we’re going to see authentic happiness and fun being had, but it’s still going to challenge him and push his limits.

It's terrible for anyone, brings them down, worsens their mental health and makes them sometimes not be themselves.

Your boyfriend, you know is broken, as months pass by he becomes even more of a shell of his true self, he might pretend everything is alright out there, but you know it isn't.

He overworks himself, training hours not enough for him, locking himself in the gym or using the goalie on your backyard to practice until late night hours, then waking up even before the sun rises.

You know he is exhausted, but he refuses to stop, you are worried about what will happen to him, you have told him so multiple times, and the screaming match you both are having right now is a repetition, already happened.

"I just told you to please come to bed, I don't think there is nothing wrong with it!" you shout at him, trying to get your words through that thick head of his, he shakes his head, a smile that is not truthful, almost cruel.

"You don't fucking understand, don't you? How can I go to bed when I fucking suck! Its almost as if you have fun seeing how terrible I am!"

"How can you say that? You know I am your biggest supporter! I just think you should also keep in mind to take care of yourself!"

He gives a dry laugh, face to face with you as he glares down at you, you are not afraid though, you know he would never hurt you -at least not with his hands that he furiously moves around and points at you.

You walk away from his, you don't let him grab you a she wants, picking up your purse and intentionally leaving the house keys behind. You stop, see the promise ring on your finger, and go to take it off, his hands stop you.

"Please, amor, don't do that I promise I will try to do better, ok? You are right, I am sorry for treating you like shit, I promise I will listen to what you say"

You laugh "Only when you are about to lose me do you react, how can I believe your words for a second if maybe this conversation will repeat itself in a week"

bill will listen to just about anything music wise but has a particular soft spot for things like blues, country, and some older rock like billy joel (also really likes soul and r&b like h.e.r. and muni long but will never admit it) — but generally, in his eyes, if it’s a good song it’s a good song, regardless of genre or artist.

he’s even more open with food, like, he will eat anything in front of him even if he doesn’t like it - just how he was raised. he doesn’t have any set favourites besides some southern classics (he will eat 25 servings of mac n cheese in one sitting if u let him)

i on the other hand am VERY iffy with food and find it hard to eat a lot of things, but we know each other so well now that bill will just eat off my plate sometimes (with consent ofc)

he’s not the best cook but is an absolute GRILL MASTER. all gang cookouts are held at his place (and pearson can’t decide if that’s insulting or not)

we spend like 90% of our time just relaxing together, but he does boxing on the weekends to (and i quote) ‘’stay strong for his lady’’

i know most people view him as gay, but i personally headcanon him as pansexual and into everyone regardless of gender because I feel like that fits him quite well

he really is quite loveable, just sometimes he has trouble showing it - but he’s getting better. his ‘i love you’s come out as random hugs, random compliments, and endearing nicknames (as embarrassing as it is i imagine his go-to is calling me bunny :3)

my headcanons w the characters i immediately thought of for how they would do on the show, this is wildly useless and niche but i'm a geek for it ( i got two people saying i should post this again and ily, lmk if i should do a part 2 / please suggest characters 👀 )

Elizabeta, top challenge winner, they probably do her so dirty in her makeover and turn her blonde, that one girl that has a partner back home and is ACTUALLY LOYAL, never starts fights with gilbert but always finishes them, kind of the unofficial house leader, tyra always highlights her muscles, really versatile for shoots, probably calls at least three photographers misogynistic, falls on the runway bc of heels but the quick recovery saves her that round

Mathieu is the like adorable 17 year old amateur that tyra found on the street, has the shittiest runway walk ever, big and awkward with his body (but tyra is obsessed with his ass and natural booty tooching lol), jock-type photos, wins best photo 2-3 times but is always in the bottom of challenges, panel constantly tells him that he needs to believe in himself more, "i just really don’t want to let tyra down TwT"

Francis is also often the challenge winner bc he’s literally down with doing anything (wink), basically adopts mathieu loves braiding his hair during downtime/behind the scenes and always chooses him for the tyra suite whenever he wins best photo, panel criticizes him for always falling back on being ‘too sexy’ in shoots and he’s not very versatile, gets in trouble for flirting with photographers, is the mom of the house and always cooks for everyone, invested in all the drama

Arthur, hes adored, the panel won’t shut up about his "high-fashion look," he scrapes by every week just by his social media scores bc of his devoted fan following, given a lip piercing n undercut for his makeover, (and the eyebrows STAY bc it’s High Fashion), constantly has beef with brianboy bc he’s a stubborn asshole during shoots , definitely makes it to Top 3 despite such high elimination risk bc of the attitude

Gilbert, the token Unique model due to his albinism, thinks he’s the shit but tbh hes always in bottom two, starts most of the drama in the house, has an insanely  badass runway walk its seriously so cunty, is probably given a complete buzz cut for his makeover and won’t shut up about it (but secretly is really insecure),  sharp features and best smize ever, but rob evans always says he relies too much on his muscles n sucks at Head to Toe modeling

Katya is BEST GIRL in the house, the token Curvy one they always praise for representation but is probably cut in like round three because of the actual fatphobia, everyone cries so hard when she leaves, has a really classic vibe, is seen as innocent but takes really fierce photos, really close to her family at home (leans on sob stories), shes the one that returns and gets back in the game when theres a Comeback episode

Michelle brings all the fun, high spirits lighten the tension for shoots and takes really bubbly energetic photos, amazing pout and expressive eyes, smoothest runway walk like she’s floating, everyone’s friend in the house but is secretly so fucking cutthroat competitive in her asides, cutesy aesthetic despite her age, is constantly criticized because she can’t pull off serious shoots, probs makes it to Top 3

12. What school/college do you go to? Graduated at the supposedly best uni in Perú but not actually.

13. What kind of student are you? In uni I was a bad a student, like a bit bellow average. In high school I was a very good student most of my life.

14. Do you even like school? I loathed high school. I liked most of my uni years, more because of friends, less because of learning.

15. What are your favorite subjects? Literature, art, music, language, english, french, biology, art history.

16. What are your favourite tv shows? Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are amazing shows. As for anime, my fave are Yu Yu Hakusho, HunterxHunter 2011, Akatsuki no Yona, Re:Zero, Digimon tamers/02 and those are all I can remember right now.

17. What are your favourite movies? I adore Pride and Prejudice (basic I know), but in general I tend to adore horror movies more like Midsommar, Hereditary and zombie movies in general.

18. What are your favorite books? Dracula, uh... polemyc I know but I will always say HP series and ...I can't remember any other one rn tbh.

19. What is your favourite pass time? Playing videogames but also organizing stuff and fixing stuff around the house

20. Do you have any regrets? Majoring in graphic design.

21. What’s your dream job? character designer...and if I learn how to draw/shade/color better: illustrator.

22. Would you like to get married one day and where? I did get married, I think the places were nice. It was a beautiful church with a gothic design and the reception was in a house on the country side. The house had a vintage colonial style and it was pretty elegant, the garden with the pool looked nice and the decor me and husband chose was top notch.

23. Would you like to have kids one day and how many? I don't earn enough money to have kids but if I got money I would have 2 kids.

24. Are you a girly girl, a regular girl, or more of a tomboy? I was a regular one most of my life? Kinda like comfy type and no make-up. Now I'm girly, I want all the pink and all the make up!

25. Do you like shopping? Just the right amount of time but yeah.

27. What is the most scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Some guys entered my family home and killed everyone. I even remember feeling the bullet in my stomach and the blood coming out of me before I woke up.

28. Do you have enemies? I have no enemies.

29. Who are your best friends? I'm not so sure, I'm insecure in this field. I used to think I had 3, but idk anymore.

Don't Worry Darling - Movie Analysis

Hi everyone! For today's post I plan on talking about a movie I watched over the weekend which is 'Don't Worry Darling'.

For starters, Irushi didn't assign us to watch this movie. I watched it because I am a big fan psychological, suspense and thriller films. I added this film to my Netflix list mainly because of Florence Pugh (She's such an amazing actress)

Now I have quite a lot of things from this movie I want to touch upon. But for starters, let's talk about the characters!

Characters

Alice (Played by Florence Pugh)

Florence did an amazing job at embodying the role of Alice. The way she response to her visions and the reality behind her situation is done perfectly.

Alice is a strong woman who loves her husband dearly and takes on the role of an idealistic 1950's housewife. Cooking, Cleaning and pleasing her husband almost in a repetitive way.

She's also smart and fearless because she was able to discover the truth on her own. Learning that she is actually living in a false reality that was forced to be a part of because of Jack.

2. Frank (Played by Chris Pine)

Frank is another character I enjoyed seeing in this film. Chris nailed the impression of a misogynistic and egotistical cult leader as an antagonist.

Frank is a character who has a god complex thanks to his male followers who joined the 'victory project' along with their partners. He has successfully brained washed his male followers into thinking that this is the ideal way to live. To live in a society where the men do all the hard work and the woman's role is to be the best caretaker for the man. (1950's ideal society)

My favorite scene in particular of his would be the one where him and Alice interact for the first time.

Here we see that Frank has a higher power over Alice. We get to see their power dynamic. This scene shows the audience that he's on top of the hierarchy and Alice is at the bottom.

His God complex also comes into play because we see that he's acting like a God who knows everything about Alice. He's aware that she knows something's wrong with the project. He's also aware that no one will believe her because she's nothing compared to him. Everyone would believe and trust in Frank.

This also gives us the impression that he sees her as a little pawn to play around with. sure... she is a challenge to him. But in his mind, he 100% sure that this pawn (Alice) can be messed around with for a while for the thrill.

3. Jack (Played by Harry Styles)

No hate towards Harry Styles, but the way he played Jack wasn't entertaining. It wasn't a solid performance.

In real life, Jack is seen as a lazy to work, insecure, shut in, loser who does nothing at home except listen to Frank's victory project podcasts, unlike Alice who worked 30 hours a day for them to make a living.

I don't understand the fact that he was a kind and sensitive towards Alice in the victory project when he should ideally be a horrible character. He should be an aggressive, rude and demanding husband now that he's on top and he has taken advantage of Alice.

Alternate ending idea

The way the movie ended was so disappointing. We never got the chance to see Alice wake up to reality.

Even the car chase scene in the victory project didn't make much sense.

Another thing that didn't make sense in the ending was Franks death and the fact that his wife said "It's my turn now...". We are still not sure if we are getting a part 2 but alright....

Now here's how I would write the ending....(This may sound similar to what was in the original script and what most of the movie critics had to say)

After Alice kills Jack, Frank will call his subordinates in the real world and will order them to find her real body and kill her. Frank will live.

Maybe his wife would realize what her husband has been doing all along and she will runaway to warn the other women. Or...there could be a fight scene between Frank and his wife where his wife tries to save Alice by interrupting his call with the subordinates.

At the end, Frank sits on the edge of his seat, waiting for Alice to be trapped.

Alice runs away as fast as she can. She enters the real world! Once she wakes up she starts sweating and breathes heavily. She looks over at Jack's dead body and has a mental breakdown.

While having this mental breakdown, she sees a device in the room that beeping. She realizes it's a tracking device. She looks out the window to see there are suspicious men entering her apartment.

In panic, she hides herself and somehow escapes the apartment.

Maybe there could be a scene where Frank enters the apartment mad and upset that Alice has escaped. He decides to look through Jack's phone and notices that he has setup a phone tracking system where he can locate Alice's phone.

He smiles and tosses the phone to one of his subordinates saying "We got her boys. Bring her to me....alive." (Something along the lines like that)

This would make an interesting sequel to the film!
