T R U T H B O M B 💣 Oh hey guys, yes I’m popping up on your feed with a lil bonus post today that is born out of frustration and a little anger • This was me in 2017 (not going to lie, I’m not looking this lean right now) ... in the run up to my holiday that year I worked hard in the gym, I learnt all about what worked for me (aka a mix of cardio and resistance training) and I ate well • I had three meals a day, plus snacks - I never went hungry, I never deprived myself and I certainly never suppressed my appetite • Why? MERRY CHRISTMAS ❤️ My first Christmas without feeling guilty for eating My first Christmas without being drawn in by diet culture My first Christmas where I’m going to eat what I want when I want freely! Fuck diet culture, it’s ridiculous. Literally days after Christmas we are bombarded with weight loss tips, how to lose all the Christmas weight blah blah blah Can we just take a moment asses just how dangerous that is?! Is it not dangerous to shove restrictive diets down people’s throats days after we are encouraged to let loose and eat as much as we want?! I think so. This can cause a lot of difficulty for many people, for me personally I do struggle with restricting after I’ve binged and I’m making such a constant effort to not do that, thankfully I’ve had such huge support through Instagram and friends and therapy. Not everyone is as privileged as I am to have that support, not everyone will be able to refrain from being drawn in by fad diets, diets that cause more harm than good. So if you know anyone struggling with food issues this festive season, let them know you are there for support! Let them know they are not alone. There are so many diets out there these days; intermittent fasting, keto, shakes, etc. Do they work? Should you try them? Your friend tried progam xyz and lost 20lbs in a month, so why shouldn't you! Well that is a great question and I would love to help answer it. First of all there is no perfect one size fits all diet for one person. That is why working one on one with a health professional is so important. I always compare how I'm eating and how I ask my clients to eat to how I feed my kids. Would I feel comfortable feeding my kids in these ways? Are these healthy habits I want my girls seeing at a young age? If the answer is no, then I'm not going to recommend it!! Showing you guys what my meals look like (Breakfast + Lunch + Snack) I stick to this smart way of eating when I put food on my plate. All you have to do is just reverse the order. Mostly we tend to put a heap of rice and then serve other accompaniments along, instead put the protein portion first in your plate followed by greens and then carbs (rice/roti) I promise you will see a significant change in your body composition. Saying it from my experience ✌🏼 Another important tip is to try and make all your meals including snacks balanced meaning containing all macros ( P/C/F) Once you have trained yourself to eat in this way, you don’t have to spend money unnecessarily on FAD diets #saynotofaddiets This thing works.
