Hello friends, I am back with more reading recommendations for your agonies! Next up we have the long awaited and much requested Sad Boat Fiction list. As with all of my lists, this is NOT exhaustive and there WILL be great books left off, and also you may or may not like these books! I only rec things that I've personally enjoyed or that come highly recommended by trusted friends, but taste in books is incredibly subjective, especially with fiction. If I missed your favorite, please add it in the comments or drop it in my DMs!

A new start?
okay so; After Danny finally revealed that he was phantom, things started to go from bad to horrible really quickly. His parents captured him, strapped him on an operating table, and kept saying that they'd fix him and cure Kim from being a ghost. Tuck and sam are no where to be seen (maybe they got grounded) and Vlad is teeming up with his pa- the Fentons.
But then what if the day that the Fentons were about to vivisect Danny was the day Dani was supposed to visit and she found him lying on the table while the Fenton parents get their tools. Long story short, she saves him and they bust out of there, and went to hide in the infinite realms.
That was when things turned from horrible to worst. It got so bad that he pulled a Spiderman: no way home and wished to Desiree to make everyone forget about him. ('the problem wouldn't happen if the cause was never there' and he was scared he would turn into Dan if this kept going)
So now clockwork has 2 teenagers (Dani decided to stay with her brother) and is looking for a place back in the living realm (they're still humans that wouldn't survive long in the infinite realms) until he remembered a certain Hero/magic user back on earth that is used to the presence of unearthly beings
✨Constantine✨
ps. for plot convenience, Dan is on ghost therapy rehabilitating and would not be able to join until much later and Danny would still be king 👑
pss. feel free to continue/extend the story, I'd love to see what you guys have in mind 😁

Literary Fiction: Many of the books from my BA studies list will probably make it here, I imagine. But if I had to pick one, I'd love to re-read The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald or read The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.
Short Story Collection: I don’t think I’ve ever read anything in this category, so I’ll go with an internet suggestion - Dubliners by James Joyce.
Sequel: This one’s tough… I’m in the mood to re-read The Lost World by Michael Crichton.
Reread a Childhood Favorite: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, for sure! Another goal connected to this is to read it in French.
20th Century Speculative Fiction: 1984 by George Orwell.
Fantasy: A Game of Thrones and the whole A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin.
Published Before 1950: I’m itching to revisit some Shakespeare. I’d like to re-read A Midsummer Night’s Dream and finally read Hamlet.
Indie Publisher: I have no idea here - maybe someone could recommend something?
Graphic Novel, Comic Book, or Manga: Either some Darth Vader comic or my first try at manga.
Animal on the Cover: Life of Pi by Yann Martel.
Set in a Country You’ve Never Visited: Book’s Kitchen by Kim Jee-Hye, set in South Korea.
Science Fiction: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
2025 Debut Author: Bochica by Carolina Flórez-Cerchiaro.
Memoir: Educated by Tara Westover.
Read a Zine & Make a Zine: I’m not familiar with this; I’ll need to do some research.
Essay Collection: On Immunity by Eula Biss.
2024 Award Winner: The Vegetarian by Han Kang.
Nonfiction, Learn Something New: The Plantagenets: The Kings and Queens Who Made England by Dan Jones.
Social Justice & Activism: Disability Visibility by Alice Wong.
Romance Novel: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - or maybe something by Nora Roberts.
Read & Make a Recipe: Pierogi z kimchi. Kulinarna podróż po Korei by Wioleta Błazucka.
Horror: The Outsider by Stephen King.
Published in the Aughts (2000–2009): The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.
Historical Fiction: The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.
Bookseller or Librarian Recommendation: I haven’t picked anything here yet.
It was so hard to choose, but also so much fun! Thank you for tagging me!
I’d love to create a moodboard for some of my 9 upcoming books, but I think I’ll save it for later.
If you want to do this (though no pressure): @quietpainter @profiterole-reads @en-busca-de-mi-ikigai-blog + whoever wants to join!

Since the moment My Demon dropped its first teaser a few weeks ago, it has been my most anticipated upcoming drama, and the notion grows stronger with each new trailer and stills. It tells the story of a demon, who disdains humans and has been taking advantage of them for hundreds of years through devil-like contracts, and an aloof chaebol heiress, who unwittingly steals his powers while saving him and tricks him into a marriage of convenience, turning him into a bodyguard disguised as a husband. It's like Angel's Last Mission: Love (which I adored, plus the OTP visuals look similar as well), but what if Kim Dan were a cold-hearted bastard and a demon. Sounds delicious!
youtube
Moreover, Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung literally set the screen on fire with their insane chemistry; and KYJ finally doesn't get type-cast as the innocent poor candy who makes everyone fall in love with her because of her kindness and perfection. It's nice to see her play the arrogant and cold type for once. The cinematography looks good, the only thing which makes me a little anxious is that it's coming from the writer of My Queen, which was great for 19 and a half episodes, only for it to go down the drain in the final 30 minutes, but who knows, maybe that was only caused by the fear that the general SK audience just couldn't accept a man transmigrated into a female body giving birth to a baby and ending up with another man, a real historical king to boot. We shall see. My Demon premieres on 24 November.

JINX CHAPTER 56 (S2) REACTION
WHY IS HE SO PRETTY??!?!
GOd! I feel like he's better now that he left Jaekyung behind...I feel him different...
That's good.
"He's handsome"
I get you girls, i get you...
But why is he so sad?! Where's your grandma?
YOOOO, SHE'S HAPPY!! SHE'S OKAY!!
Even the doctor said she's been better than before! sdfhdgjklsdfg WOOOOOOOO, WE WON!!!
But then...whY ARE YOU SAD, KIM??
"I'm scared... of being alone"
Oooouu...so that's it.
Mmm, ok, I get it now.
He's about to snap at any given moment, bruh...he's gonna kill anybody on the road, that's for sure...
criminal side-eye...ofensive side-eye...haha
"The first time i saw him..."
Man, you're going insane, that's clear as water now.
You really have so much free time now that, for the first time in ages probably, you're letting yourself have a moment and think about you're life and feelings...
Goddamnit, you need help QUICKLY
"So I found myself wanting to see how that would play out in the room..."
So you were into him for the very first moment 'cuz you felt like he was a kind of weakling coward little man?!?! HOW MANY REASONS ARE YOU GONNA GAVE ME TO HATE ON YOU MORE???
yOU'RE SICK, YOU'RE A DISGUSTING PERVERT, YOU'RE A KINKY SHIT, JOO JAEKYOUNG!!!
"...and even our sexual chemistry"
Using him as your sexual toy was some kind of 'chemistry' for you? You're out of your mind, man.
"This is how I've always lived my life"
And that has worked out the way you wanted? Don't you think it's time for it to give it a review? a little change, if you mind???
WHY YOU GOTTA BE THIS FINE WHEN YOU'RE A DEPRAVED SON OF A B**-!!!
I genuinely feel like I'm hating on this man EVEN MORE than I ever did back at season 1...I don't like how's this going really, why am I even more disgusted by him than ever? Shouldn't this be the season where he changes, where he gives his reasons to DESERVE to be Dan's partner??? 'CUZ NO WAY YOU GET NEAR HIM AGAIN, BITCH!!
Kim is healing, YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULDN'T BE NEAR HIM!!
"I'm just going to meet with Kim Dan and talk about this."
TALK ABOUT WHAT??!!
'Yo, Dan, I wanna fuck u again, wanna abuse you like I had been doing this past year, u miss me?'
TALK ABOUT WHAAAAATT, ASSHOLE?!?!
"I feel like it's the only way to put these thoughts in order."
So you're gonna force this pure being into listening to your bitchy complains and life-problems because you got nothing best to do and wanna ruin his life even more than it already is??
Wow, so kind of you...
GO SUFFER ALONE IN YOUR BIG-ASS MANSION, DON'T RUIN THIS NOW!!
"The number you dialed is not in service..."
tHANK GODNESS, MAN!!
"He's probably with his grandmother..."
THE JUDGING FACE?? REALLY??
I genuinely ADORE his facial expression, ngl.
"However, due to patient confidentiality, I cannot reveal further details."
You're saving a life here, m'am.
Seems like Kin is kinda escaping from you...any guess of why that may be it, Joo?? ANY FUKCING GUESS OF WHAT THE REASON MAY BE??
He's fucking desperate, HAHAHA
Why did I suddenly get reminded of RinHaru's 'running and searching for the other' (fs2 movie) by watching this panel? God no, they are NOTHING alike these too...
"Fuck! Where the hell is him?!"
Calm down, bitch, the world doesn't revolve around you...
"Find Doctor Dan"
Oh my fucking godness, NO!!
"Track him with any method necessary"
THIS WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!! FUUUUCCCK NOOOOO!!!
POOR BABY, I'M SOOO SORRY DARLING!!
Ok, so I've left my actual impressions while reading this chapter above, yeah, but I also wanted to add that, yes, Joo Jaekyung is an asshole...EVEN THOUGH I'm aware of the actual 'good things' he did for Dan... it's do take recognition over
His disposition for paying Dan's debt on those abusers back at his old house
Beating up said abusers
Paying Kim's granma's treatment
Giving Kim a place to live
Giving Kim a work, a worth salary AND the opportunity to be in his team, be part of his crew (and meet his people, actual humans who appreciated his efforts and became his friends)
Ultimately, yes, Jaekyung changed Kim Dan's life for the better when he was in a really tough situation back at the begining...BUT, the reason why I'm so mean to him in my reactions lately is because, yes, he helped Kim, but with the mindset and pursuit of his own needs and interests, just like he has said these two past chapters into this new season...
Joo has done all that NOT taking in consideration Kim Dan's feelings, needs, much less emotions...He did all that for his own convenience...
And, honestly? as a said, he has more free time now and it's finally thinking over his situation, reflecting on his current reality and somehow giving it a thought on Kim Dan's impact in his life...even though that, yes, he's doing it in the wrong way...
I hate this bitch, but I'm aware of his seemingly slow development and possible good things he has done so far...
Anyway, there's still a long go for him to treat people as actual human beings and change his toxic narcissistic mindset...and also, we don't know his background nor his personaly story...so I hope that will improve my view of him as a character on the long run further in the future...
So... yeah, that's it.
Hope you enjoy my babbling. I do really enjoy this series because of how insane it is, but so well constructed so far, and because the art is fucking amazing...
And, yeah, Joo Jaekyung is hot. I hate him, but he's goddamn hot.

If there was a Inside Out 3, what would it be like?
(Poster Edit by Me/App on Android: PixelLab)
Like we already got how Sadness and Joy were lost in the first movie, than Anxiety taking control in the second film, I think I the third should be about Riley is ready to go to college next Thursday, and then, nine new emotions appear to take over Riley's mind, the names would be Love, Courage, Surprise, Pride, Trust, Suspicion, Frustration, Shaudenfreude, and the dark emotion himself, Spite. The nine emotions cannot handle it when Riley develops a new crush onto the new boy and that's where things get serious when Spite takes the eight new emotions in his control and uses Love to make Riley's crush into love madness.
As Spite gets rid of our nine heroic emotions out of their jobs, it's up to Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, Anger, Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment to save Headquarters and go through place to place in Riley's new developed mind, which is practically now a Mindtopia. And it means it'll be a lot more tricky.
Returning Voice Cast
Amy Poehler as Joy, Lewis Black as Anger, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Bill Hader as Fear, Mindy Kaling as Disgust (YES YES YES! I'M BRINGING THEM BACK! RISE OF THE O.G.!), Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adele Exarchopoulos as Ennui, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment, Kensington Tallman as Riley Andersen, Diane Lane as Mom, Kyle MacLachlan as Dad, and Lilimar as Val Ortiz.
WHO WOULD CO-STAR IN INSIDE OUT 3?

So I’m reading Jinx.
I’m so curious how everything’s going to play out and if there will be a happy ending because in my view there’s no way that Jaekyung is redeemable after everything he’s done so far and will probably continue to do to Kim Dan.
(spoilers ahead)
I mean, poor Kim Dan, he went from in majorly in debt to loansharks, agreeing to have sex with his boss in order to make enough money, to being his boss’s indefinite sex slave in less than a few hours :(
Literally, Joo Jaekyung can only be redeemable if something so life-changing happens to him that his whole personality changes. Like, losing a fight and getting -seriously- injured or being outed/losing his career or Kim Dan saving his life after being close to death or something.
But with his current personality just seeing Kim Dan in pain or falling for him won’t do. Not enough.
Personally, I’m hoping that Kim Dan’s grandmother passes away and while Kim Dan is grieving or supposed to be grieving Joo Jaekyung crosses the line in some way that pisses Kim Dan off and so before the next big fight Kim Dan is on the brink of it and refuses to sleep with him before the match. Then, Joo Jaekyung loses the fight, gets hit in the head, has severe amnesia, and has to slowly regain his memories. Kim Dan, out of the kindness of his heart, comes back to help him because he thinks it’s his fault he got injured, and while rehabilitating and slowly remembering his life, Joo Jaekyung finally realizes how awful of a person he’s been - in general and especially to Kim Dan. When he regains all of his memories, he’s ashamed at the person he was. THEN and ONLY THEN can he be a better person, fall in love with Kim Dan, and they can be happy together.
I mean, can you imagine Kim Dan in that scenario trying to explain to him how they got in the predicament to begin with? “Um, I was just your physical therapist but then you started paying me to sleep with you before your matches and whenever you wanted - and I needed the money because my grandma was unwell. Then you paid off all of my debt and forced me to live here and be your plaything 24/7.”
I need to see the REGRET I need to see TEARS I need to hear PLEADING APOLOGIES I want him to REFLECT and I want him to SIMP for Kim Dan so bad that he has to BEG for his forgiveness and GET ON HIS KNEES for a chance to even be in the same room with Kim Dan.

‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Renewed For Two Seasons At Netflix; Live-Action Series Will Conclude With Season 3
Avatar: The Last Airbender, the anime-inspired live-action series, will be able to tell the story of the four nations: Water. Earth. Fire. Air after Netflix renewed it for a further two seasons.
The streamer has handed the show a two-season renewal order to conclude the story of Aang’s journey to become the Avatar.
It comes after the show premiered on Netflix on February 22 and recorded 41.1M views in its first 11 days, topping its TV list for the last two weeks and being on track to enter its top ten most-watched list over its first three months.
The plan is to film these two seasons – seasons two and three – in close succession in order to mitigate the fact that child actors tend to grow up quickly.
The series comes from Rideback, whose boss Dan Lin, an exec producer on the series, was recently named Netflix’s new film chief, replacing Scott Stuber. Albert Kim is showrunner, having replaced original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko in 2020.
Its three season run will mirror the structure of the animated series, which featured three books across three seasons to Aang’s story that premiered on Nickelodeon in 2005, and became a hit on Netflix during the early stages of the pandemic.
It’s not clear how many episodes will be produced for season two and three. Season one features eight episodes.
Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a world that is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. “Benders” are people that have the ability to telekinetically manipulate and control the element corresponding to their nation, using gestures based on Chinese martial arts. The “Avatar” is the only individual with the ability to bend all four elements.
The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope. But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang (Gordon Cormier), a young Air Nomad — and the last of his kind — reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar.
Alongside his newfound friends Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a quest to save the world and fight back against the onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) determined to capture them, it won’t be an easy task. They’ll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way. Ken Leung and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee also star.
Kim and Lin exec produce produce alongside Jabbar Raisani, Lindsey Liberatore and Michael Goi. Goi and Raisani directed episodes in season one alongside Roseanne Liang and Jet Wilkinson.
It is Netflix’s second anime-inspired live-action hit after One Piece, following a rocky start in the genre with Cowboy Bepop. The streamer highlighted it as one of its latest successful adaptations, coming on the back of other IP-driven series such as The Sandman, Wednesday, Arcane and Sweet Tooth.
The creative team behind the series is keen to expand the story. Avatar executive producer and director Jabbar Raisani told Deadline that there’s stuff that they filmed that didn’t make it into season one.
“If we get another season, then we will certainly have those things, because I know what we missed now and I know how to do better the second time around,” he said. “The animated series is a really good guide…for where the show can go.”

Just gonna toss some random PR at you and see what sticks now that you're out of hibernation:
MMPR #121 is out and I....hate it:
I really, really, really want to be happy that we get to see Adam and Rocky and some character development in the wake of their possession, and get an entire issue based around Billy, but it all really just goes downhill from here. The only nice thing I can say is that Hendry Prasetya's art has gotten very smooth and I quite like it compared to previous chapters.
However, revisiting old Dual MM and PR chapters has made me happy finding little gold nuggets around that actually speak to true personality:
Next to Dan Mora, Marco Renna mighty be my favorite artist for this series. At least I can stand to look at Zedd with this style.
And also: THIS ☝🏿☝🏿 I miss this kind of thing.
I know we've all had fun throwing rocks at the Eltarian War Arc, but I cannot be the only one that sees the VERY EASILY streamlined version of events where this would have been perfect for Identity Reveal, Action Survivor, Big Damn Heroes, Big Ego/Hidden Depths, The Chosen Zero, Karmic Jackpot, Kleptomaniac Hero, Chekhov's Gun, Everything is Trying to Kill You, Strolling Through the Chaos, and an Establishing Character Moment tropes for...our babies Q_Q Honestly, so much fanfic possibility. Wish I could figure out how to make it work...
Also, just random pics of the minions being CUTE.
AYIYIYIYIYIHFRBHJTFBRVDCENDFR
This is the best thing i could've gotten coming out of hibernation, tbh. THANK YOU.
what the FUCK have they done with Billy's HAIR. Why do they look like THAT. (They've drawn Adam and Rocky beautifully but wtf billy.)
Feeling SO bad for adam and rocky they look BROKEN 🥺
Who's the lady in red?? Is she a ghost?? Can nobody else see her??
Zedd looks very overconfident, and is talking about how overconfidence will be the end of them... hmmmmmmmmm
i really like Zedd's art style! Marco Renna does a GOOD JOB O.O
But seriously wtf was that with Billy's hair.
i think i screamed at this. THIS IS CHARACTER <3
7. THEY HAVE AN EXECUTION ORDER TO MELT ALPHA???? i know it's supposed to be a serious scene but THAT many eltarian soldiers for one alpha, it's making me laugh awdhydfsvfadwfrgt 8. BULK AND SKULL BULK AND SKULLLLLLL!!!!!!!! HELLO BABIES!!! I love this style for them, they look so CUTE and smushable and cheek-pullable. Skull being depressed about Candace and bulk distracting him and cheering him up AND THE WAY THEY RUUUUNNNNN *wipes stray tear from eye* BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN <3
9. who is this man. why does he look like that girl from hinger games. 10. did they melt the alpha yet??
11. THIS ART STYLE. FOR THEM. YOUR HONOR I LOVE THIS PANEL (and they're shooting Matt. Lol i love that) 12. The empyreals?? IS THAT A BLUE KATAPPA 13. Jailbreak blue lady is Candace, I assume?? (She'd have looked prettier with blue hair, tbh. Why couldn't they just make zordon the bald eltarian. Why'd they have to make ALL ELTARIANS bald????) 14. Bulk and Skull are literally interviewing aliens. I don’t know how amazing THAT is, but also i cant stop laughing at the image of Mr. Blue katappa in my head.
For reference, this is Katappa.
Angry old general man who is one of the biggest memes here.
15. ERNIEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 16. "Honestly, so much fanfic possibility. Wish I could figure out how to make it work..." <- you say, let me read this arc. Then I'll yell at you about it.
17. WAS THIS YOUR TRAP TO MAKE ME FALL INTO THE ENDLESS PUDDLE OF THE ELTARIAN WAR????? because i think it worked 18. GOLDAR!!!!!! Kim going "saved by gOlDaR?? I’m gonna need a minute" *cackles*
19. Taking a minute to appreciate THIS. How CUTE. AUGH. 20. and Goldar in that veryyyy last panel. BRO. GOLDIEBRO. I FEEL YOU. it's the downfall era for ALL of us. WHY MUST WE SUUUFFFERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
i have so many thoughts here awdsfghbdfjsvns I NEED TO READ THIS ARC!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU AUGMENTT ASDNRGHJFDSCSEJDFG
