Maria, the rare 1971 yuri manga that has never been translated into English...

I am super excited to tell y'all that I will be translating Kazuo Kamimura's Maria into English! I plan to get through at least the first volume and the first chapter is already done! I will be posting it in multiple parts and it will also be up altogether on MangaDex soon. I hope you will enjoy it :)

i think it'd be keen if we could move away from feeling "patriotic" and more towards feeling "heroic" on this day. heroism comes in a myriad of forms but it is spurred by an intrinsic love for all, the desire to help and protect those who need such, and a fervor to fight for truth and societal progress against those who seek to hinder us.

so, in that glow of heroism, here's my reflection of it in the form of a queer cosplay romance comic. loving and helping each other will always see us through. <3

Love that in the original comics this was like her catch phrase.

I know it's not Victorian, but it's wondrous how Wonder Woman is 40 years just past Victorian age. Pop culture moved so fast in the mid-1900s. I mean you have writers and comic artists that would have grew up in the late Victorian era or grew up in the generation just after. In school they would have learned Victorian thought and possibly been influenced by Victorian ideals of sex.

But anyways, looks at those pretty flowers! As nice as flowers are what's with woman being depicted always receiving consumables; with picked flowers, fruit and chocolate.

I mean to be fair Sappho does use picked flower imagery in her poetry...a lot.

But you, O Dika, bind your hair with lovely crowns, tying stems of anise together in your soft hands. For the blessed Graces prefer to look on one who wears flowers and turn away from those without a crown. - Sappho, If Not Winter 8

i primarily work in digital illustration and sketches, but I like to do larger pieces with watercolor, ink, acrylics, or linocut printing.

i post a lot of fanart currently, but my primary goal is to eventually make the majority of my content about my original characters/stories/worldbuilding and life experiences.

i take a lot of my stylistic inspiration from the golden age of illustration, art nouveau, vintage storybook illustration, tattoo art, contemporary comic styles, woodblock printing, botanical/zoological illustrations, and abrahamic/biblical iconography.

most of my work outside of my fanart includes imagery derived from nature, birds (specifically crows), spiritualism, religious iconography, and fantasy.

my favorite thing to draw are birds and celestial beings!
