this is a prequel of sorts to always on the tip of my tongue! a glimpse into wille and simon's very first taco tuesday. eventually (like, after all of tomt is published, so basically never) this will be one part in a series of mikael pov insights into wilmon's relationship, but i wanted to share this for now! enjoy!! <333
if he likes you, he'll smile
Mikael had been working at Geronimo’s for nearly two months the day that he met Wille and Simon.
He didn’t even think he’d be in the job that long. He had just been laid off from another corporate bullshit position and had been enjoying a proper midlife crisis when another eviction notice forced him to resort to bartending again. Geronimo’s FGT was decidedly not his kind of place. He hated how touristy the area was, hated the shitty bands the owners constantly had in for live entertainment, and more than anything, hated how monotonous the job started feeling just after a couple of weeks.
He wanted to quit. He was seriously considering giving his notice. He nearly did several times, but for whatever reason, he kept hesitating. It was good that he had a job for now, but he was already restless. Something was missing. Mikael didn’t know what he would do or where to go next, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was invisible here. Mikael couldn’t even remember the last time he had an honest-to-God conversation with someone. In this town, the idea of him disappearing forever without a soul noticing he was gone was more reality than fear.
And then, one day, on a Tuesday in autumn just like any other Tuesday, Crown Prince Wilhelm sat at the bar right before him.
Mikael didn’t give a shit about the royal family. He was surprised he even recognized him. He probably only did because Wilhelm was around the same age as Sanna, his daughter. Mikael remembered the headlines when Erik passed away. It was right after Mikael got into that last big argument with Nea before she packed everything they owned, left, and took Sanna with her. He remembered watching the videos of Erik’s funeral on the news, seeing pictures and closeups of Wilhelm, and just thinking about how young he looked.
He still looked young now. His hair was shorter, his face more angular, and he didn’t look sad like he always did when he was on the news. Quite the opposite, really. He had another person with him tonight, a shorter boy who looked even younger, whose smile seemed so bright and genuine that Mikael almost felt blinded by it. As the two boys slid into their respective barstools, bright laughter filled the room, and Mikael thought that today would be different. He didn’t know how, and he didn’t know if the change he felt was necessarily a good one, but it was different.
He wasn’t sure if he was supposed to address the prince in any sort of particular way. For a moment, he thought maybe the prince was trying to be discreet, and he shouldn’t address him at all, but the pair of security staff who followed the duo inside and positioned themselves nearby made it clear that Crown Prince Wilhelm was here. Plus, people around the restaurant noticed him and started staring. All eyes Mikael could see were on Wilhelm.
If the attention bothered Wilhelm and the boy sitting beside him, they didn’t let it show. Mikael couldn’t imagine that it didn’t. He felt awful for the kids. As the stares turned into whispers turned into audible speculation, Mikael felt the urge to yell at everyone to shut the fuck up and leave them alone. But if he was going to quit this job, he at least wanted to do so on good terms so he could still have references. He did not need to have to explain the fact that he was fired because he lost his temper in front of a prince to his next employers.
Realizing that he was staring, too, and was maybe now part of the problem, Mikael cleared his throat, leaning forward on the bar and raising his voice so Wilhelm and his friend could hear him.
“Can I get you boys something to drink?” Mikael asked, trying his best to sound casual and uninterested.
“What do you have with tequila?” Wilhelm asked. His voice was teasing, his smile playful. Mikael was caught off-guard. He hadn’t spent any amount of time thinking about what the Crown Prince might be like, but this young, smiling boy was nothing like what he might have expected.
Mikael didn’t say anything, just narrowed his eyes a little. He picked up a drink menu and placed it down in front of Wilhelm, dragging his finger around the portion of the menu that listed their cocktails and detailed which tequilas they had on the shelf.
Mikael watched Wilhelm’s smile twist into an amused smirk before he looked down at where Mikael was pointing.
“Mmm, I’ll take a ginger beer, please,” Wilhelm’s friend said, reading the drink menu over Wilhelm’s shoulder. Mikael nodded and reached under the bar, opening the cooler and pulling out a glass bottle. He placed it in front of the boy, who smiled at him brightly and thanked him. Exceedingly polite.
Mikael took a moment to size up the prince’s companion. He certainly didn’t seem royal or even royal adjacent. He looked astoundingly normal. While Wilhelm was outfitted stylishly and professionally in a collared shirt and smart sweater, the other boy came simply dressed in jeans and an old hoodie with the drawstring missing. The two boys looked like they came from two different worlds, but at the same time, there was a sort of familiarity and ease between them that felt… right.
“How spicy is the spicy margarita?” Wilhelm asked, looking up at Mikael with a glimmer of mischief in his eyes that Mikael didn’t quite know what to do with.
“No. No, Wille,” the boy cut in before Mikael could even open his mouth to answer. “You can’t keep pretending you like spicy things. You’ll take two sips, spend the rest of dinner complaining about it, and end up wasting the entire drink.”
“You don’t know that,” Wilhelm grumbled, pouting dramatically as he looked back down at the menu.
Mikael had to bite back a chuckle. It was amusing how comfortable the boys seemed with each other. The boy called the prince Wille and teased him knowingly. It was strange, seeing someone so famous casually sat in front of him, so strikingly human. Mikael felt drawn to the prince and his friend, almost like he was a part of their world. Or, maybe stranger, that they were a part of his.
“I’ll order the House Margarita if you can tell me what’s in Geronimo’s Secret Margarita Mix,” Wilhelm said, looking at Mikael with that same playful smile that continued to catch him off guard.
“It’s written in the employee handbook that if we tell someone, we have to kill them,” Mikael said, without thinking. He had a moment of doubt when he thought that maybe threatening violence against a prince might not be the smartest move, but at Wilhelm’s widening smile, he continued. “It also explicitly states that we do not grant exceptions regardless of rank. The only way one can learn the secret of the Margarita Mix is if they have concerns about allergens.”
Wilhelm’s friend laughed at that, beaming at Mikael with a thousand-watt smile.
“Oh, I like you already,” he said. The boy looked at Mikael closer now, considering him in the same careful way Mikael had just done with him. After so much thought about how working in this part of Stockholm made him seem invisible, in this moment, he felt almost unnervingly seen. “I’m Simon. Best friend of Wille. Official title. What’s your name?”
Still apprehensive, Mikael just pointed to his chest, where a nametag was pinned to his apron.
“Mikael,” Wilhelm read, grinning wide.
“Good, he can read,” Mikael muttered to himself before he had a second to think better of it.
His gaze flickered over to Simon, who looked like a kid at a candy store. Clearly, he was delighted that Mikael was instantly willing to poke fun at Wilhelm. Mikael didn’t know why he was chasing the approval of this… kid. Especially at the expense of the actual Crown Prince of their country. It was something to do with Simon’s smile, Mikael thought. It felt familiar. It reminded him of Sanna.
Mikael knew his face fell at that realization. He also knew that Simon had caught it, and Mikael watched as his smile faltered, but only for a fraction of a second.
“Literacy is one of his better qualities,” Simon said to Mikael, glancing over at Wilhelm with a fond roll of his eyes.
“It’s ‘Gang Up on Wille’ day, huh?” Wilhelm muttered, looking up briefly to glare at Simon. Simon just laughed lightly, looking down at the food menu the hostess had given them when they first sat down.
Someone in Mikael’s position would have to be blind not to notice the rush of pink on Simon’s cheeks. Mikael remembered what it was like to be that age, no older than nineteen or twenty if Mikael had to guess. He recognized Simon’s exact blush from his early memories of Nea.
Mikael wasn’t ready to make any assumptions, but he was briefly curious. He thought he would have heard something if the prince was gay. Or bisexual or whatever, Mikael didn’t know. Then again, maybe they were trying to be discreet. But, Mikael thought, there were definitely places more discreet than a busy restaurant in the middle of Gamla stan, just minutes away from the royal palace.
So, they were probably best friends. Still, Mikael noticed the way Simon looked at Wilhelm, like he had just hung the moon. It wasn’t nothing.
None of his business, though.
“I’ll have the House Margarita. Salted rim, please. For now, you can keep your secrets,” Wilhelm said, smiling at Mikael again. “But next time, I’ll find a way to get you to tell me while also sparing my precious life.”
“Precious,” Mikael scoffed, causing Simon to let out another breath of laughter.
Mikael opened his mouth to ask to see Wilhelm’s ID before he stopped short. Do members of the royal family even carry identification? Mikael knew Wilhelm was over eighteen, but he was still legally required to ask. Unless there was an exception for princes? He didn’t think there would be, but he also had no reason to know. Would Wilhelm get mad at him for asking? He couldn’t help but glance over to the security guards, who, admittedly, looked terrifying.
Mikael thought back to how he wanted to quit this job before they fired him. He did not want to have to tell the story of how he was fired for not carding the Crown Prince.
“Can I see your ID?” Mikael asked, keeping his expression as neutral as possible.
Wilhelm looked surprised for a moment, but he instantly reached into his pocket to remove his wallet and his ID, which, apparently, he did carry with him. That was good to know.
“I’ve never seen you get carded before,” Simon said to Wilhelm, beaming ear to ear. “This is the best day of my life. I hope the food is good, Wille. This might finally be our place. It feels right.”
Mikael glanced down at Wilhelm’s ID (which was weird, so extremely weird. Wilhelm had so many names and probably the nicest picture Mikael had ever seen on an ID) before handing it back to him wordlessly.
Mikael set to work making Wilhelm’s drink, thinking that their interaction was over for now, but Simon spoke up again, surprising him.
“So, Mikael,” Simon said, his voice curious and friendly. “Have you always lived in Stockholm?”
The answer to the question was no, but Mikael was a very private guy. He didn’t want strangers asking him personal questions. It was none of their business. Especially not the prince’s.
Mikael finished pouring the last of the ingredients into his cocktail shaker before answering Simon’s question with a frown and a shrug. It wasn’t a yes or a no—it was just an acknowledgment. Simon seemed to take the hint, and he just smiled at him with a nod. Understanding, gracious, unnervingly kind.
Simon and Wilhelm were quiet while Mikael finished making the drink. They looked around, admiring the space. For all of its faults, Geronimo’s FGT was fun. Decked out in colorful textiles, weird bird taxidermy, and neon cacti, the place felt like a fever dream interpretation of the American Southwest. Mikael did love it, and so, as it would seem, did Simon and Wilhelm, who each wore small, pleased smiles on their faces as they took in the atmosphere of Geronimo’s.
Giving the margarita a few good shakes, Mikael poured it into a mason jar with a salted rim and slid the drink over to Wilhelm, who thanked him profusely and wasted no time downing half the drink with one prolonged sip.
“Nectar of the gods…” Wilhelm mused, putting the jar down with a satisfied sigh. Mikael still didn’t know quite what to make of Wilhelm, but he thought that he liked him. Or, at least, he was pleased that the prince seemed to approve of his bartending skills.
“Anything to eat?” Mikael asked, using both his hands to point at the pair of menus in front of Wilhelm and Simon.
“It’s Tuesday, so definitely tacos,” Wilhelm said, with so much enthusiasm.
“Which tacos would you recommend?” Simon asked, looking up from his menu to Mikael.
“They’re all fucking great,” Mikael said, truthfully. Since starting here, Mikael had tried and enjoyed pretty much the entire menu. “Birria are good. Fish, too.”
Mikael watched Simon and Wilhelm exchange a look, wordlessly communicating before Simon nodded and grinned, turning back to Mikael.
“Perfect, we’ll try those,” Simon said, before glancing back at Wilhelm. “And we’ll split them so we can both try both.”
“And queso, too. Please. As much as you’re willing to give us,” Wilhelm added, before doing something weird with his eyes. Mikael thought Wilhelm might have been trying to wink, but he wasn’t sure. He might just have something really wrong with his vision.
Mikael left to put in their food orders, and then, a little reluctantly, went back to work. As much as his curiosity made him want to linger by Wilhelm and Simon, there were other patrons sitting at his bar, and more drink orders coming in for him to work on. Even if he had literal royalty at his bar, Mikael couldn’t afford to give them all of his attention. He was cutting his rent a little too close as is.
While Mikael was able to busy himself with the Taco Tuesday crowd, he did occasionally try to listen in to Simon and Wilhelm’s conversation, just to get a better idea as to what their deal was. He wanted to know why they were here, of all places.
It sounded like they were catching up on the past week or so of their lives. Simon must have been a student, probably here in Stockholm, as he spent most of his meal talking animatedly to Wilhelm about various classes and professors. Wilhelm was listening intently, nodding along and peppering in questions and comments throughout.
Mikael realized that their appearance at Geronimo’s was really quite simple. Wilhelm and Simon were two friends, meeting for dinner to catch up on each other’s lives. There was nothing fancy, no royal banquets or expensive wines or anything. Just two friends sat at a bar, eating tacos and talking about their day.
It was… endearing.
When it was getting late, and their plates were all but licked clean, Mikael approached Wilhelm and Simon again, leaning against the bar opposite them. He offered them a sort of smile, a slight purse of his lips that was just about as friendly as his face could get.
“Good?”
“Fucking great,” Wilhelm grinned, repeating Mikael’s praise from earlier.
Giving the boys a satisfied nod, Mikael placed the bill between Simon and Wilhelm. Simon let out a loud bark of laughter before pushing the bill directly to Wilhelm.
“Why do I always get stuck paying?” Wilhelm said, teasingly. Still, he didn’t hesitate to immediately take out his wallet and hand Mikael a card, smiling politely all the while.
“Wilhelm, do not get me started today. You are already on such thin ice,” Simon said, his voice surprisingly serious. Simon must have had plenty of thoughts on the excessive amount of cash Wilhelm surely had at his disposal. It was surprising—in a good way, Mikael thought. Wilhelm seemed to have a friend with a good head on his shoulders. Polite, engaging, and willing to challenge him.
Mikael really, really liked this Simon kid.
He also really, really missed Sanna.
Mikael ran Wilhelm’s card and returned it to him. Wilhelm pocketed his wallet, thanked Mikael again, and then started to get up.
“You’ll be working next week, right Mikael?” Simon asked as he stood. Mikael was surprised at the question and didn’t answer right away. He just stared at Simon for a prolonged moment, raising an eyebrow. “Next Taco Tuesday. We’ll see you here again. Next week?”
Mikael shrugged and smiled a little. He supposed he would stick around until next week, at least, if that meant seeing Wilhelm and Simon again. He was still curious about them. He wanted to listen to them more and try to understand them better.
“Next week, then,” Wilhelm smiled. He crinkled his eyes in that weird and awkward way again—probably a wink. Then, with a final wave, they left Geronimo’s, security detail in tow.
Suddenly, Mikael’s monotonous job felt like the most interesting place in the entire country. Maybe Mikael would quit next week.
But for now, he’d stay. Make a couple of margaritas. Eat a few more tacos. Have a fucking good time.

An introduction to VR multiple units, part 5: Sm6
The Sm6 Allegro. When I started this series about our multiple units, I first thought I would cover the Sm6 in the "operated for others" -series, then thought I would leave it out altogether... but events overtook my plans and now I'm introducing them as VR's own multiple units, although they are not yet in operation as VR trains.
An Sm6 unit on the Kerava-Lahti line, currently the only bit of high-speed rail in Finland, 2011. Teemu Peltonen, Vaunut.org.
Since the 1990s, two daily return trains had been operated between Helsinki and Saint Petersburg, Russia: the Sibelius, which used VR carriages, and the Repin, which used RŽD carriages. In 2006, the two rail operators decided to replace the locomotive-hauled trains, which took five hours to make the trip, with jointly-owned high-speed trains. For this purpose, a new jointly-owned subsidiary Karelian Trains was established.
Two Sm6's during pre-service entry test runs at Vainikkala, the border station between Finland and Russia, with the locomotive-hauled St. Petersburg train Sibelius on the right. Lari Nylund, Vaunut.org.
After a round of tenders, Karelian Trains opted for the Pendolino design (already used by VR in the form of the Sm3) from Alstom in 2007, with four units to be delivered in 2010 (there was also an option for two additional units, which was never taken up). Although the exterior design of the new Sm6 units was almost identical to the Sm3, in terms of technology they feature numerous improvements compared to the older class, and were outfitted to operate both on the Russian and Finnish electric systems. Due to the small difference in gauge between the two countries (Russia uses 1520 mm but Finland 1524 mm) the trains were given near-unique gauge of 1522 mm.
Interior of the Sm6's first-class carriage as delivered. Otto Karikoski, Wikimedia Commons.
Branded Allegro, the new Sm6 units begun operations in December 2010, cutting the travel time between Helsinki and St. Petersburg to 3½ hours. In addition to services offered on Sm3 units, the Sm6 has (or perhaps more accurately had) a space for the border patrol to use, as passport control was done en-route on the train, and a kid's playroom. The original grey-dominated interiors were replaced by new, more colourful blue designs in 2018-2019.
The new interiors were not in use for long before the Covid-19 pandemic caused for passenger train services between Finland and Russia to be suspended in March 2020. The Allegro services were restored in December 2021 (the Helsinki-Moscow sleeper train Tolstoy, however, was not), and ran for less than four months until closed again in March 2022 after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. (VR subsequently stopped freight traffic to Russia too - other Finnish rail operators continue to serve freight to and from Russia, however).
Second-class carriage in the post-2019 look. VR.
After March 2022, the four Sm6 units languished at VR's Ilmala depot in Helsinki, without maintenance as RŽD refused to make any payments for their share in Karelian Trains (which, although jointly Finnish-Russian owned, was registered in Finland). In March 2023, when Finnish prime minister Sanna Marin visited Kiev, Ukrainian Railroads requested the Sm6 units be handed over to them, but nothing ever came of this. Instead, in December 2023, when Karelian Trains was on the brink of bankruptcy due to RŽD not paying their share of the company's bills, VR bought out Karelian Trains and took over the Sm6 units.
The trains will be given a thorough technical refit, which will include removal of the systems to operate with Russian electrification, and will enter services on routes within Finland in 2025. How they will be branded is unknown, though a VR representative said in an interview they will not be called Allegro. Presumably this will make the Sm6 the first VR rolling stock class to be fully painted in the new livery.

what do you think about the male lead role nominees? you think edvin deserved a nomination over any of them? wonder if omar was also up for male lead rather than supporting this year, bc it seems weird that he wasn't nominated over Adam if he had such a insignificant role
David Dencik is always solid so I'm not surprised to see his name.
Ardalan was good in I dina Händer but I found the series so so to be honest.
I've not seen Tore so I don't know about William.
Johan Rheborg is popular but I don't think Morran och Tobias is that kind of series to deserve an acting nomination. Mostly because it's not my cup of tea so I'm not as appreciative if comedy acting.
Jonay was good in Taelgia, I enjoyed that show alot. Wouldn't be surprised if he won.
I can see Edvin replacing William but that's pretty much it I think. I think his role was more demanding but that's with being bias and not having watched tore.
I'm surprised the dad from en helt vanlig familj isn't nominated for supporting role or male lead. I hated the show but every other person ate it.
As for Omar I think he once again would have been considered for supporting role. I don't know why but that was the case the first year. I think the streaming services/channels can nominate a few each and they went with Sanna and Frida for supporting role and William and Ardalan for male actor.
Both Omar and Edvin could have been there but I'm not surprised to see they are not either. Not because they don't deserve it but because it seems like netflix chooses what's more recent and YR was on their 3rd season and not as hyped as it was in 2021-2022.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has completed an extensive investigation into a series of suspected terrorist offences, and passed the case file to prosecutors for further consideration.
The case relates to a series of suspicious packages sent to political party offices last year.
The first incident was reported on 16 February, when suspicious packages arrived at the party office of the Left Alliance in Helsinki and in Tampere. A similar suspect package arrived at the office of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Tampere a week later.
Later, suspicious parcels also arrived at an SDP office in Turku, a Left Alliance office in Pori, and the Green Party and the SDP's offices in Helsinki.
The packages were sent in the run-up to last year's general election, at a time when each of the three parties to receive the parcels — the SDP, the Greens and the Left Alliance — were in government.
A police spokesperson said on Friday that, based on evidence uncovered during the course of the preliminary investigation, the bomb threats were an attempt to influence the democratic process.
"A technical investigation found that the packages sent were very similar in detail. The same suspect is also believed to have posted provocative and threatening material on forums between late 2022 and spring 2023 in connection with the parliamentary elections. In this respect, the person is suspected of public incitement to an offence," Detective Inspector Sanna Springare wrote in an NBI press release.
Yle understands that at least some of the packages contained insulating wool and wires, suggesting that the sender wanted to create the impression that it was an explosive device.
The suspect in the case is a man in his 40's from Pirkanmaa, according to Yle's sources, and was a former member of the Finns Party. He has denied the charges, both to the NBI and to Yle.
NBI also probed plans for "ritual Satanic murder"
In addition to the investigation into the suspect packages, Yle understands that the same suspect was under surveillance by the NBI over plans to potentially carry out a ritual murder.
The suspicions were raised due to evidence uncovered by the NBI during the investigation into the suspect packages.
During a search of the suspect's home, investigating officers found a number of items used in satanic worship rituals as well as a book called 21 polkua pimeyden valtakuntaan — roughly translated as '21 Paths to the Dark Kingdom' — which is a Finnish book describing ways to become a Satan worshipper.
The book's recommendations include becoming a neo-Nazi as a step towards "true Satanism" as well as describing a ritual murder of a young man on the summer solstice. Police believe the suspect had begun the "ritual path" outlined in the book and he was planning to carry out the human sacrifice on 21 June 2023.
However, the NBI did not open a preliminary investigation into this suspected offence and the man denied in an interview with Yle that he practiced Satanic worship.
Finnish court jails British man for online casino fraud
The District Court of Central Finland has found William Anthony Parker guilty of aggravated online casino fraud and sentenced him to two and a half years in prison.
Parker, a British citizen, was detained by police in Central Finland in January on suspicion he had exploited a software flaw to hack into the computer systems of two international online casinos.
The court ordered him to forfeit the proceeds of his crimes — estimated by police to be about 835,000 euros — to the Finnish state.
Parker's assets, which also included more than 9,000 euros in cash as well as 100 gold coins found in his possession, had been frozen during the course of the preliminary investigation.
The prosecution had demanded a prison sentence of more than three years.
The court's verdict in the case is not final, meaning that the ruling is still subject to appeal.

Mostra Vibo Valentia Palazzo De Riso Gagliardi luglio/agosto 2000

Children of Ash and Willow | Chapter Two: Into the Woods
A/N: Hello, Star here! I’ve been working incredibly hard to bring you the “Children of Ash and Willow” series. The first few chapters will be about events before and during season one in which Sanna was involved in.
Pairing: no pairings, just another chapter with come backstory.
Summary:
Warnings: violence, mentions of blood, swords, children. bad grammar. Also if the beginning looks familiar it is because it’s the beginning part to my ‘Little Warrior” Blurb.
Word Count: 868
The air around her was damp and cold. The wet grass tickled her bare feet as she ran about. Her wooded sword in hand. Grabbing her shield from the ground. Twirling around, her blonde locks falling out of her braid. "Shield wall!" She shouted, bringing her shield up. Returning to the same stance she had been repeating for hours. The stance she had seen her father and countless other men from their settlement stand in. Preparing for battle. She dropped her shield again. The weight of it being too heavy for her to carry for even one more minute. A smile crossed the young girl's freckled-face hearing her mother's words. "You know Sanna, you will be a great warrior one day." Her mother laughed as the toddler in her arms wiggled and reached for her older sister. Sanna giggled and stepped closer, taking the small child into her arms. "I am ready mother." Her soft features hardened. The young girl that stood in front of her mother presenting herself as a fierce storm. But only for a brief moment. The softness returned as the toddler placed her small chubby hands on either side of Sanna's face. "It seems that Noora agrees." Her mother stated, running her hand along the toddler's cheek. "Well, of course, she does," Sanna said looking up at her mother. "Noora knows that I'll always protect her. For wherever she goes. I will surely follow. You see," Sanna declared, smiling up at her mother. "I see, my little warrior. I see." Her mother placed a loving hand on her child's shoulder. ———————————————————————————— That was the last thing her mother, Nesta had said to the young child. Merely ten years old and already a victim of death. A sickness had taken her, leaving Sanna and her siblings far too soon. Sanna was always reminded of her mother. Where ever the little girl went. The whistle of a breeze, the crackle of a fire. She knew her mother was always near, watching over her. And a smile would spread across the young girl's face. Even now as rain fell, she thought of her mother. There was so much rain, it felt as if the gods were angry. A stroke of lightning lit up the sky, Sanna stood watching with wonder in her eyes. Her lips grew into a wicked grin. She glanced at her father with a look in her eyes he had seen countless times. A dangerous look for a girl so young. And before he could say anything she was out the door. Her laughter mimicked the echo of thunder. Her happiness almost outshined the bright flash of lighting. She splashed barefoot into the puddles, she twirled until she began to feel dizzy. She then simply stopped, and spread her arms out. Looked up to the sky and stood, perfectly still, allowing the rain to make its way through her bones and into her soul. Sanna was a wild child. She was a storm to be reckoned with. The gods knew. But the world. The world would never be able to accept it. The wonder never left her eyes, often getting her into trouble. Curiosity always got the best of her. As a child, she would take her wooden sword and shield into the forest that separated her father's land and Earl Ragnar's. She would play with the other children. She got along with one child in particular Thyra Ragnarsdottir. She remembers when she first met the Saxon children, Brida and Uhtred. She remembers how scared Brida was. And how it didn't take long for her to overcome her fears. Uhtred became like a brother to Sanna. The annoying Saxon boy became very protective of her and her sister. After her mother died Sanna spent almost every moment she could with Thyra and her family. Eventually bringing her younger sister Noora along. She would help Noora onto her horse and ride the frequently traveled path to their kingdom in the woods. As the children played, Sanna being the eldest girl would often be the lady of the house. She would help the other girls by instructing them to weave, making the men's sails for the ships. She would pretend to be at war with the other children and they would all use their wooden swords and shields and fight on their make-believe battlefield. The bright-colored paint on their shields was a beautiful contrast against the dark brown mud and the dying leaves. Braiding the younger girls' hair, adding flowers, feathers, and twigs. Painting the boy's faces so they mimicked the war paint of vicious warriors. Listing to Uhtred as he talked about the sceadugengan, laughing when Noora got frightened. Her fondest memories are of when she was a child. In the years that followed, as the children grew into adults, the once-traveled path became overgrown with weeds and wildflowers. The once boys now men went off to rade and ravage and the once little girls were now shieldmaidens, mothers, and betrothed. Sanna mourned the children she and the others once were. Not ready for the reality that came with being a woman. The duties of a wife and a mother. Duties that Sanna did not want. But knew when the time came, she would have to embrace it.

Non-ship related, just book stuff
I have just started reading once upon a broken heart book by stephanie garber and these are songs that I think fit evajacks (again, I'm a new reader so correct me if you want):
wet the bed by chris brown (this song honestly sounds like something jacks would do to eva in one of their passionate scenes)
I'm yours by Isabel larosa (the title of the song was literally something eva said to jacks. eva has and forever will be jacks' little fox)
yes to heaven by Lana del ray (this songs gives so much evajacks vibes to me, listen and you will know. *sobbing* I'm getting heartaches just thinking about it)
summertime sadness by Lana del ray (feels like eva wanting to kiss jacks before parting with him or something)
undo by sanna nielsen (sounds like eva wanting to escape from her heartbreak with jacks)
tears by clean bandit, louisa johnson
fairytale by alexander rybak (somewhat resembles jacks' pov in my opinion)
consequences by camilla cabello (sounds like eva's breakups)
Dynasty by MIIA (failed love story vibes *sobbing*)
heaven knows by Five for fighting (unspoken love in my opinion)
that is all at the moment, I might come back after finishing the book series but who knows

Al Vanni Sanna Torres-Lucchese 0-0
Sassari.

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - In a move that economists are calling "the most creative economic collapse yet," nations across the globe are abandoning traditional currencies in favor of a more volatile, yet infinitely more meme-able, market: the digital realm. Forget your dusty old euros and crumpled dollars – the future of international trade is measured in LOLs, fire emojis, and that one dog who looks perpetually concerned. The Great Recession of 2024, a perfect storm brewed from a global avocado shortage, Elon Musk accidentally buying every single country's strategic meme reserve, and a particularly savage diss track aimed at the entire G20 by a rogue K-Pop group, has left traditional currencies as valuable as dial-up internet. Enter "Dank Diplomacy," a revolutionary trade strategy where nations barter their most culturally potent memes and the unwavering digital loyalty of their citizens. Leading the charge is Finland, whose arsenal of deadpan Saunasquatch memes has proven surprisingly lucrative. "Look," explained Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, adjusting her virtual reality headset emblazoned with the iconic "This Is Fine" dog, "oil may have fueled the 20th century, but relatable content is the new black gold. We recently traded a gigawatt of server space for a year's supply of Ugandan Knuckles dance tutorials from Uganda, and let me tell you, morale has never been higher." The United States, ever the trend-follower, is scrambling to catch up. The Federal Reserve, now known as the Federal Meme Reserve (FMR), is currently in emergency session, brainstorming new meme content. Early proposals include a series of deepfakes featuring Joe Biden rickrolling world leaders and a sassy bald eagle puppet show commenting on current events. Experts warn, however, that the nation's "Distracted Boyfriend" meme reserves are dangerously low, a potential economic Achilles' heel. Meanwhile, China has taken a distinctly different approach. Instead of memes, they're leveraging their massive TikTok base in international trade negotiations. Imagine tense trade talks punctuated by teenagers flossing for economic concessions, or intricate geopolitical agreements ratified through elaborate synchronized dance routines. The implications for global youth culture are truly chilling. This new meme-based economy has created a thrilling new black market. Cybercriminals are now specializing in meme ransomware, holding entire nations hostage for exclusive rights to the latest Pepe the Frog variation. Shady "Meme Brokers" with questionable comb-overs haunt international conferences, hawking dubious "Grumpy Cat derivatives" and promising "guaranteed viral content." The future is uncertain. Will the next world war be fought with cat videos and diss tracks? Will the fate of global economies hinge on a perfectly timed dab? Only time will tell. But one thing is clear: the world we once knew is gone, replaced by a bizarre, hyper-connected landscape where a single well-timed "woman yelling at a cat" meme could spell economic salvation. So, dear reader, dust off your meme-making skills and hone your TikTok dance moves – your nation's economic future may depend on it. Investment Tip: Experts are bullish on the "Woman Yelling at a Cat" meme-verse. Consider buying derivatives before the market explodes.

Many newspapers in Finland reported on Prime Minister Sanna Marin's (SDP) appearance on the long-running current affairs show '60 Minutes', which aired in the US on Sunday.
Most outlets, including Helsingin Sanomat (siirryt toiseen palveluun) (HS), mention Marin's stark comments about Russia as a threat to the whole of Europe.
"They are attacking another country. They are killing civilians. They are demolishing infrastructure. Russia poses a threat to all of us, and that's why we have to make sure that Ukraine will win," Marin said on the CBS show.
Apart from the war in Ukraine, Marin's interview also touched on topics such as Finland's application to join Nato as well as the country's target of becoming carbon neutral by 2035, HS noted.
Tabloid Iltalehti (siirryt toiseen palveluun) added that the show's interviewer, Sharyn Alfonsi, also brought up last summer's party scandal, which saw a series of private videos that featured the Prime Minister dancing with friends leak to the press.
"Do you think politicians are allowed to be human right now," Alfonsi asked in relation to the topic, to which Marin responded by saying:
"I think we need more politicians that are human, that are normal humans, also showing emotions, and also being themselves. Because they are representing ordinary people. Why cannot they be ordinary?"
Ohisalo: urgent action on forestry needed
With Finland's carbon sink collapsing and the goal of carbon neutrality by 2035 slipping further away, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Maria Ohisalo (Green) said it is urgent that Finland ceases unsustainable logging, according to Jyväskylä-based Keskisuomalainen (siirryt toiseen palveluun).
"The key question for the next governments is how to save this carbon sink," Ohisalo said in an interview organised by news agency STT, adding that the main issue is that Finland is felling trees in too large quantities and while they are too young.
KSML adds that forestry has become a key bone of contention among politicians recently, with economic growth and climate ambitions often clashing.
National Coalition Party (NCP) leader Petteri Orpo is among those to have disputed claims of Finnish logging as unsustainable, the paper explained. The Green Party leader says that Orpo's party's rhetorics lack a factual base and have varied depending on the audience.
"The NCP also recognises that Finland must become carbon neutral, but is not prepared to take the necessary action," she said.
Ohisalo rounds off by saying that while the forestry industry is an important export sector for Finland, it needs to be on a more sustainable footing.
"At the same time as the forest industry is making billions in profits, in some cases the best results in its history, our forest ecosystem is becoming weaker and the loss of biodiversity is worsening".
Transport sector dispute, strikes continue
Newspapers also reported about the likely continuation of the ongoing strikes affecting the Finnish transport sector.
Tampere-based Aamulehti (siirryt toiseen palveluun) wrote that last weekend's negotiations did not prove fruitful as the Finnish Transport Workers' Union (AKT) rejected the National Concilliator's Office's proposal citing that its proposed wage increases were insufficient.
The industrial action has affected some 9,000 workers and will continue to significantly impact Finland's foreign trade and transport services.
Most strikers were set to return to work by 21-22 February, however a new round of strikes could start from 1 March if parties fail to reach an agreement, the newspaper noted.
The extension could soon be evident on grocery shelves, with imported fresh produce like bananas and oranges at most risk by the industrial action, Iltalehti (siirryt toiseen palveluun)added.
The strike is also impacting waste collection at recycling points. Residents in some Finnish cities, including Helsinki, have been advised to keep rubbish at home during the strikes.
