summary: Yuu gets invited on their first journey to one of their schoolmates’ hometowns! But with the meager allowance given by that stingy headmage, they don’t think they have enough to cover the travel. It was on a lazy Friday evening in the botanical gardens when Yuu was approached by an energetic ball of energy, otherwise known as Kalim Al-Asim, and his childhood companion Jamil. Yuu looks up just as Kalim barrels into them with a hug. They laugh as Jamil begins to scold Kalim, reminding the latter to be aware of boundaries, something that is hardly in the young heir’s vocabulary.

“How can I help you, Kalim?” The prefect moves their homework to the side as they reciprocate the second year’s hug.

“We’re going on a trip!” he exclaims excitedly. Yuu tilts their head to the side.

“Oh? Well, congrats! I hope you have fun.”

“What are you talking about? You’re coming with us!”

‘… Huh?’

“Kalim,” Jamil’s voice sounds tired as he places a hand on his classmate’s shoulder. “You can’t just tell someone they’re going somewhere. You have to ask them first.”

“Oh, right! Well, Yuu, do you wanna come home with us?”

Jamil smacks a hand to his forehead as Yuu continues to become more and more confused. What does he mean, “come home with us”? Is Crowley kicking them out of the campus? Did Grim do something whilst with the Heartslabyul duo? Yuu thought they could trust those two, but maybe they were wrong.”

“It’s nothing like that,” Jamil explains with a tired sigh. “Kalim and I are heading back home, to the Scalding Sands, for the Yasamina River Fireworks Fest.”

“And since you’re from another world, I’d love to show you my hometown, Yuu!” Kalim adds with a beaming smile. “We got six VIP seats, so you and Grim can both tag along! Oh, maybe I should hit up the guys from my Pop Music club too!”

“Wait a minute, you are one of the organizers of the event, Kalim, and as your attendant, I will also be at your side. Inviting Grim and Yuu last minute is one thing, but adding even MORE people whilst we’re busy is too much.”

“It’ll be fine, Jamil! The more the merrier, as they say. Besides, They can take care of their own, right?” Kalim looks towards Yuu with shining, puppy-dog eyes.

“Um, sure.” they nod hesitantly. “But what about the cost? As you can probably guess, Crowley isn’t really on the generous side…”

“Well, the seats for the festival are covered by your tickets. The street food is pretty cheap though! Maybe you could ask the headmage to lend you some more money?”

“Eh, I doubt he’d agree. Grim is also a really big eater.”

Suddenly, a figure jumps down from the tree Yuu was leaning against. The Scarabia duo jumps in surprise, whilst the prefect merely smiled. The figure, ignoring his two underclassmen, ruffles Yuu’s head lightly before sitting down beside them. His long tail curls around Yuu’s wrist as he yawns.

“Hey, Leona-senpai!” Kalim’s the first to recover from the unexpected guest. “Can’t believe I didn’t notice you up in that tree.”

“‘Course you didn’t,” the beastman smirks. “An herbivore like you would never be able to detect a beastman like me.” The comment doesn’t hold much malice in it, if any, and Kalim continues as if nothing happened.

“Well, anyway, were you able to hear everything? Do you wanna come with us?”

“Kalim!”

“What? Leona-senpai is a classmate of ours! Besides, it would be rude not to invite him after hearing us invite Yuu and Grim.”

Leona yawns again as he nestles himself closer to his favourite human, who also happens to be his partner. His eyes are only half open, a sign that he’s just about ready to fall asleep once again.

“A trip to the Scalding Sands? I’ll pass; not a huge fan of large crowds. But if you wanna go, Yuu���” He stares into his lover’s eyes, waiting for a response. The prefect gives it a thought before answering.

“Hm, well I would like to go, since the festival is a once-a-year event. After all, who knows if I’ll be here to experience it again.”

Leona ignores the twinge in his heart at the thought of his favourite herbivore leaving his side, opting instead to reach into his pocket. He takes out a leather wallet, opening it with one hand and expertly fishing out a thin object. The prince places it gently into Yuu’s hand and quickly tucks away his wallet.

“There, now you can enjoy yourself without worrying. Just don’t let that little weasel see it. He might think this means he can spend on whatever without thinking.”

Yuu’s eyes widen as they unfurl their hand, their gaze falling on a shiny black credit card embellished with gold printed words. LEONA KINGSCHOLAR bedazzles the front, and a shiny crown emblem is stamped at the end of his name. The name of some unknown bank, as well as other details, dot the rest of the card. They flip it over and over, studying it carefully to make sure it’s real. Kalim and Jamil’s faces are also aghast as they recognize the card.

“WOAH!” Kalim gasps. “Is that a black card?! I have one too!”

From the sounds of Kalim’s voice, a black card seems exceptionally rare. Perhaps only the rich and royalty could own one. Either way, Yuu remained quite shocked at the mere fact that Leona trusted them enough to loan them his card. After all, he’s a prince! If Yuu ended up misplacing the card, and it got into the wrong hands, then who knows what could happen to THE prince of Sunset Savanna if his royal funds were taken.

“See? You’re all set now. Now hurry up and leave. You’re digging into my date time.”

“All you’re doing is sleeping…” Jamil mumbles, though it still reaches the beastman’s ears. “Whatever. Let’s go, Kalim. Because of you, I have to rearrange a bunch of things.”

“I’ll pass the news onto Grim for ya, Yuu! Be sure to be at the Mirror in the morning!” Kalim waves to the prefect and beastman as he’s dragged off by Jamil.

Once they’re gone, Leona gently brings Yuu closer to him, nuzzling his face into the crook of their neck. The prefect smiles and softly begins to brush their fingers through the prince’s brown locks, eliciting a pleased noise from the back of his throat.

“Thanks for trusting me with your card, Leona. I’ll be sure to keep it safe and use it wisely.”

“‘s all good,” Leona’s words come out slurred, the familiar and comforting scent of the gardens and his love lulling him back into dreamland. “Just want you to enjoy yourself.”

Leona finally falls asleep, and Yuu joins him once they’ve packed all their things. Trying to do homework now would be futile, it seems. The two peacefully slumber in each other’s embrace for the next hour or so, until Grim and Ruggie came to bring them back to their dorms for curfew.

jax didn't think he'd be the type of guy to — like other guys. it’s not like girls didn’t cut it for him before, that was all well and dandy, but he lately found himself staring at the way the leather from your cut shaped around your shoulders a little too long, or how the veins in your arms would pop when you drew your gun. fuck.

and at first, everything was pretty easy to ignore, even if he stared too much and went out of his way to keep his distance — he could pretend it was nothing, jax had a knack for keeping his hands busy on useless flings, and now they proved a better escape. it was a particularly vivid dream and a few stoned deliriums when he hung around the weed shop with juice that told him this wasn’t going away anytime now.

he then thought of everything that was potentially wrong about it. when he didn't have his hands on a trigger, his bike's handle, or some chick's hips — he was overthinking. starting with the fact that no one had to know; and if they did, the club would have to make an exception for him, to any and all rules he would be breaking along the way. jax didn't keep tabs on every archaic rule of the original motor clubs, but he figured having an old man as an old man would be a pretty big hole to patch over.

chibs was the first to know. jax couldn't bring himself to tell opie about it — he didn't know how to feel about it himself, he didn't want to see opie not knowing too. and chibs noticed everything, down to how jax's jaw would tense at any and all comment that he would have found funny before, how he'd leave the bar too quickly, and not hang around the crow-eaters as much as he used to, almost as if he, out of all people, couldn't keep his hands fixed to known, soft curves. not when he closed his eyes and all he saw was sharp edges and rough knuckles.

the talk the two had about it had been awkward and oddly comforting, filled with curses. their backs to the wall and a cig between their fingers. it went something like: “so, the new patch.” “... yeah.” and after a moment of silence and a tightly stiff hug, chibs breathed out, “yer’ an idiot, jackie boy.”

when it blew up for the both of you, it happened in between dirt and beer, blinded by street lights. it had been a stupid brawl; a show to put on during a party of the mc, that grew too personal — especially when his breath hitched when you took off your shirt to go up against him in the makeshift rink. and maybe, he didn't know how to deal with being irrevocably smitten with someone so eager to punch his teeth out.

frustration and confusion about his feelings quickly soured into panting anger and balled up fists. he also remembers flashes of flushes and heat waves striking his skin where pavement sanded his back, it felt kind to be punched, as long as it was you.

not that he'd ever admit that.

even when he found you later in the bathroom, bleeding by his doing and running water over your knuckles, the wraps hanging off the sink, he came to you like a storm, frowning and seething, kissing the blood off your lips, hard enough he might've broke something else, he pulled away just as so, daring you. everything a challenge with jax.

that too faded away; into yearning and sickeningly sticky grudges that tasted too much like honey, you two didn' talk about the pushing towards greedy encounters in grimy bathrooms, not for a long while. his bike to yours even when he missed having you in his hands, he knew that if it was known and went south, both of you'd get shunned and blacked out, and even if the club looked past it, the other charters just wouldn't have it. so bathrooms it was.

he'd call you his boyfriend — not only in the dark — smell a whiff of gunpowder and call that home, if he could.

he wants to, just not now. and it hurts, and the knife twists, because they don't teach you what to do when everyone looks out for their old ladies, but you have to watch bullets grazing the man you love everyday, having to shoot too.

only when you strapped a bulletproof vest alongside your chest, cocked your gun and prepped yourself for a meeting made to go awry, only then he felt the very palpable fear of losing someone he didn't have the chance to claim as his.

everyone's family locked tight and safe in the clubhouse. before anyone took off on their bikes, jax kissed you briefly, it felt like a shot in on itself, his hands on each side of your face, holding you like water. “see you later.” his voice a lot like an order, even when his thumb ran alongside your jaw — not even trying to be soft, he didn't know how with you. before you had a chance to react and do something other than lick your lips, jax was already hopping on his bike before anyone else could, racing off, with all of the member's eyes on him, and you.

well, that would be a conversation to be had when they all came back.

PERSONALITY :

Sahil is the type of person who is quite noticeable yet hidden. She is soft spoken and has a relaxing demeanor, making her good friends with her room mate, Silver Vanrouge. She also is incredibly skilled in giving advice due to her… extensive life experience. She is quite philosophical, speaking in riddles a large amount of the time. If she isn’t speaking cryptically, she can be brutally honest at the point. She also gives clues to people who like to go around in others’ business if she trust their attentions, as she thinks of them as diamonds in the rough -- Yuudai (my mc) being one of them.

Despite upholding her own personal moral code, Sahil can be very cruel at times if she senses that her opponent is disturbing or dangerous. She becomes very calm and her glare is said to cut harder that the golden scimitars of the Asim family. She is also conscientious alongside her cruel wisdom and gives tough love at times. It is difficult for her to show strong emotion, but she works at it.

BACKGROUND :

 Sahil’s parents met when her father had just become a best selling novelist and her mother had taken over the family mafia. When Rudra Pravin took over, she was known as the Gun not just from the Pleiades circles - but all over Aryastan and well into both the Savannah and Sands countries’. She was a terrifying tiger beastwoman and when she met Almanzor Bazarki, a black jackal beastman,  she fell hard. She proposed marriage and he became her consort.

The two of them ran the Pleiaides as they grew their family, which was more of a morally upright mafia that focused on technological and money making schemes rather than killing, but powerful all the same. However, the Pleiades were targeted by the Asim family, and Rudra and Almanzor were killed in front of Neera when she was 7. Inheriting a large debt, she worked to keep her brothers and sister safe, but they were all killed in front of Neera as well as the rest of the mafia when she turned 9. 

Neera played dead as the Al-Asim matriarch cut off her ears and tail for potion ingredients, assuming her dead. Due to her unique bloodline, she was a tiger beastwoman like her mother but blessed with large reserves of cosmic mana like her father, allowing her to survive despite what had happened. She was abducted into a trafficking ring as a chattel slave and used as a laborer and fighter -- even tossed in to fight with animals and other slaves. She picked up multiple languages during this time and learnt how to shift into a tiger, reserving her beastman traits. 

She was later brought by the unknowing Asim matriarch in her tiger form, who gifted her to her son as a gift. One day after she shifted back to her normal self, she passed out and was found by Jamil, who took her to a doctor and healed her. Over time, Jamil and Sahil became best friends and applied to Night Raven when the time came. 

They both got in and in their second year, Jamil overblotted. This led to the two of them coming clean about their traumas to each other and in third year. Sahil became Diasomnia’s dorm leader shortly before this in the middle of their second year and over blotted herself, leading to her needing therapy. Sahil met one of her cousins, who had made it out much safer than her with his beastman form still intact and she fell in love with a princess.

Midorima felt like so embarrassed, he was waiting for the ground to come swallow him whole and disappear. Shinju's eyes were glittering with delight as she teased her brother in front of you. "Are you planning to marry her?" Midorima's face was as red as a crate of tomatoes and you looked at your shoes just as his father walked into the room. "Shinju, honey, marriage is for adults." Kenichi said as he handed you a glass of water to drink. You kindly accepted it, and took a sip as Midorima's father sat in front of the two of you. "Forgive us for being noisy. Shintaro can be a little closed off sometimes." You nodded in understanding, that was your boyfriend alright. "So, if I may ask, how did the two of you meet?" Midorima was still too red to respond, so you answered; "The school's infirmary. He was visitin his teammate Takao. He's part of the health club and volunteers there. My friend had a situation so I brought him to the infirmary. Apparantly I caught your son's eye that day and well, here we are." You said, trying to tiptoe around Ichijo's drug use. Kenichi hummed at your answer, looking obviously amused at his son. "So you were the one to approach her, huh?" "Yes, nandayo." "You have truly grown my son," he looked very proud and you could imagine Midorima's reserved nature being a worry for a father as friendly as Kenichi, yet could also see how it was clearly embarrassing to your boyfriend. "You really have a wonderful home, Mr Ken." You complimented, trying to take the heat off of poor Midorima. He chuckled. "My wife is an interior designer, she decorated our home." You smiled, "well she did a great job. Honestly, the hints of apple green and citrus yellow gives your home such a fresh look. It's so much better then that bland white, beige and grey trend." Kenichi chuckled once more as his wife entered the room, her cheeks a little red as she had heard your compliment. "Dinner will be ready in five minutes or so," she informed all of you and Shinju darted to the dining room with such speed, that you grinned. She wouldn't make a bad choice for the track team, clearly being athletic ran in the family. You blinked in ausrprise as Midorima offered his hand, helping you to stand up. Blushing lightly, you took it and let him hoist you up.

Ririka's cooking was as excellent as her interior decorating skills and you ate with bliss. Shinju, who sat opposite from you, turnt out to be a very sloppy eater and her face was covered in food, which only made her look more adorable. Midorima sat next to you with the kind of ease that made you wonder if this was how it was going to be, if you had the luck that your first love was also your last. If years from now, you would join them at the dinner table like this, fully embraced as a daughter in law. You were at complete ease, and everything seemed so idyllic and perfect that you couldn't believe that this was happening. It was like you could see the light at the end of the dark tunnel you had been born in. But the darkness always came chasing after you and deep in the back of your mind you worried when something or someone would show up that would take it all away from you. A girl like you never had nice things. They would never last, running through your fingers like sand as you sobbed and cried; not wanting to be parted from it but would anyways. That was what people meant with something being tainted, something having a black stain you could never wash out. Only a select lucky few managed to wash theirs out and deep inside you had always feared that you didn't had what it took to do so. Yet you still smiled inspite of your fears at Kenichi's jokes, still held a shred of hope as Ririka looked at you warmly and asked you some basic questions, felt yourself soften as you beheld Shinju's cute face. Almost as if he sensed there was something troubling you in the depths of your heart, Midorima held a spoon in front of your face with his own a bright red, his family awe'd as he fed you. Yes, this was the dream.

DRACO MALFOY using his status over you

Head boy, filthy rich, and from a Death Eater family: of course Draco has always had more power over you. It was something he prided himself on, HEAVILY. Being above others has always been his priority, it makes him feel strong and needed - because he's never been wanted before.

When you two got together, it was shocking to almost the entire school: which was his plan. You were a random student from a grade below, not popular but not a loner. Decent grades, in only a few clubs, and you faded into the background like a grain of sand in the desert. Yet, somehow, you stood out to Draco. His confession barely counted as a confession, more so a demand. No, not even a demand, more so a threat.

The power imbalance between you two was so extreme, it was insane. He was older, taller, stronger in magic and physical strength, and his status amongst the wizarding world would boost you up tremendously. But, you didn't think of any of this: you only thought of how amazing it is to be noticed and chosen for once.

This was all according to Draco's plan, he was confident that you would accept him due to analyzing you and noticing your low self-esteem.

From then on, your life was a living hell. To some, it was the dream life: being spoiled in the finest clothes, being excused from any class you wanted, and being associated with one of the most influential wizard family. But underneath it all was a system of guilt being built from your dependence on him.

All of your clothes were thrown out by Draco and quickly replaced with the most expensive brands that you couldn't even pronounce. It seemed sweet, but in reality it was a ploy. The purpose was to make you feel in-debt to him, to feel guilty every morning as you put on your clothes, to evoke the thought "how can I pay him back?"

Your school life was easier by ten-folds. If you wanted, Draco would get one of his friends to complete all your homework. If you wanted, Draco would make you a hall pass to excuse you from any class you hated. If you wanted, Draco would pay off all of your school's tuition and books. But, there was never a "if you wanted", instead it would forcefully done without your knowledge, placing you further in debt to him. You were trapped under him, any action that displeases him places your entire education at jeopardy.

Being with a Malfoy meant all the Malfoys' got to know you,

You knew that getting with Tom meant a lot of things about you would need to be changed in order to fit his life style, because God forbid he change himselfIt was foul tasting, you went into this knowing how bad Tom was yet still craved him like how little kids eat slime.

Quitting some clubs was fine, you didn't care for them that much anyways and hanging out with Tom in the library to sit in silence was SO much more fun.

Seeing your close friends was out of the picture completely because Tom didn't understand why you would need anyone besides him. Having friends was an indirect insult to him since it mean he wasn't fulfilling you enough.

Picking your own clothes was banned from day 1 once you got together, because how you were perceived also reflected onto him. He was head boy after all, he had a reputation to keep up. Not to mention he was the future heir to Voldemort's evil plan, meaning you needed to be perfect in every way.

Everything you said from now on would be chosen by Tom. Every morning Tom would cast a spell to be able to enter your brain so he could give you every answer to say. It didn't matter that it was potions class or flying class, he would tell you what to say.

If he had any reason to believe you were being mischevious or planning anything without his knowledge, he would use "legilimens" at any time of day when he wanted to, because he had a right to your own mind. He forced himself in your brain, viewing every traumatic event and happy event you've had. And if he didn't like those memories, he would change them.

At first you thought he would take your traumatic memories, making you happier and fuller of life. But, he took your happiest memories and mended them to fit his face into it. Memories of your mother brushing your hair and calling you beautiful were wiped away and replaced with Tom calling you beautiful, despite him never ever saying that.

Dating Tom leads to you becoming a shell, an empty hallow shell with no life besides the life Tom planned. And no matter how much you tried to fight back, rebel, or plead for mercy, it was too late. Once you agree to be his, he forever has ownership of you.

MATTHEO RIDDLE violent habits in front of you

Fighting was one of Mattheo's hobbies, no matter how much you begged him to stop. At first it was cute, he was saying it was so you could fix his wounds and so he could protect you from creeps. It was the first time you've ever felt protected by someone, safe to walk out at night and safe to wear whatever you wanted.

But overtime, his anger was seen in more places than you predicted. Gaming was a small one but you knew it was possible. He lost a game whilst playing with his friend and he angrily shoved him while laughing. You just though the was playing rough, but his friend got up whilst gently holding his new bruise that Mattheo just made. Mattheo said sorry and the two made up, simply "boys being boys".

In sports you would see this a lot too, but it was expected. He was the beater on the Quidditch team making him bound to be aggressive. But once Slytherin was down 50 points, he began to take matters into his own hands. He chucked a ball straight into the benched already injured Gryffindor team, earning him a red card and being benched himself.

Beating his own dorm room was unexpected since the dorms would heal any imperfections daily. But when you went to his dorm, you saw the huge holes in his wall that pierced through the drywall and almost into the brick walls behind it. He shrugged it off when you questioned him, saying he always does that to relieve stress when he runs out of weed or alcohol.

You ignored all of the red flags but then his ex girlfriend reached out to you over text. She wrote a long message sharing how Mattheo was toxic in every way possible. How he would gaslight and lie to her constantly, how he would cause scenes in public to embarrass her, and how he almost hit her. He got so angry to a point where he swung at her but she dodged it, running away from him and instantly telling the first professor she found.

After that, she broke up with him but he wasn't done with her. He spammed her with countless texts and calls, all of which were threats in some way about how if she ever spoke up he would find her. He even sent his friends to watch over her since the school separated the two.

Yet, for some foolish and dumb reason: You ignored her. Or, more so, Mattheo went through your phone and yelled at you for hours on end to not believe his "crazy ex".

THEODORE NOTT will cheat on multiple times (and guilt tripping)

He was one of the most wanted boys in Hogwarts, so when you started dating you felt honored. Out of all of the girls he could have chosen, he picked you and wanted you. Of course a few girls began to become bitter towards you but you didn't care, they were irrelevant anyways.

Everything was perfect in the beginning. He showed you off, went to every event you had, and even took you on multiple shopping sprees to buy whatever you wanted. Compliments from him would come every hour and each was sweeter than the last. It was just like the fairy tales you read and the ideal couples online.

But as time progressed, he wanted to do more too quickly. To him, sex was just a casual thing he could have whenever he wanted. But to you, it was much deeper and you wanted to have more time, which was completely reasonable since you've only been dating for about 3 weeks.

You expected him to be understanding like he usually was, to reassure you it was okay and he would wait. But instead, you met a shocked Theo as he shook his head to snap out of it. He asked you again, to double-check that you weren't joking and when you repeated yourself he was even more surprised. He scoffs, as if you just insulted him and he poked his cheek with his tongue.

From that day on, you noticed a shift in his attitude. His hourly compliments turned from hourly to 3 every day to 1 every day to none. His hugs and kisses were completely limited and only done when he was in public. Hanging out became rare, meaning you only saw each other during your shared classes.

You did everything you could to get him back, needing his love once more because you knew no other boy in this school was capable of treating you as well. But no matter what you did, he never was as sweet as he once was. It hurt, but you knew exactly why he was acting this way and you felt guilty despite knowing you shouldn't. So you decided to let into his wishes, allowing him to have sex with you.

You went to his dorm, ready to talk to him about it and give him consent (which you barely felt). But as you stepped into his already open dorm, you saw him banging some other girl on his bed. The same bed you two used to cuddle and laugh on, the same bed that he brushed your hair so delicately on, and the same exact bed where he first ever said "I love you".

But for some reason, as if he casted a spell on you, you couldn't bring yourself to feel angry at him but only disappointed in yourself for not fulfilling his wants. The girl in his bed scrambled away, throwing on random clothes and apologizing to you as she ran out whilst Theo sat there staring at you with a cold and emotional look.

His eyes were something you loved dearly about him because they were so filled with emotion, as if his soul was trapped into his eyes. You always hated when people said their eyes changed colors, but Theo's genuinely did.

And from his eyes, you could tell everything he wanted to say without even hearing his voice. You could hear the silence. The piercing silence in the room silently said, "It's your fault for not letting. I needed it and you couldn't fulfill what I needed, so I got a replacement."

You were hoping you would hear him say "It's not what it looks like!" or "I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me!" but he didn't say anything, no defense. If anything, the pure embracement of his cheating was 100 times more hurtful than denial.

But for some strange reason, a stupid and idiotic voice came into your head to forgive him. To give him what he wants to keep him. To give up your whole self to secure the temporary happiness he would offer.

LORENZO BERKSHIRE prioritizes everything but you (and love bombing)

Everyone views Lorenzo as the boy who shouldn't be in Slytherin, the only good one, the pure and cute-sy one. But as you got further into your relationship, you realized it was simply an act. It wasn't fully wrong, Lorenzo did have sweet parts in him and he was better than 70% of the Slytherin boys but he still had major flaws. There's no way a man can be friends with Mattheo, Tom, and Theodore and not be toxic as well.

At first, he was amazing to you. Flowers, chocolates, dates, movie nights, and so much more. It was like the dream rom-coms you watched growing up. But overtime, he stopped showing love to you and focussed his attention back into his life.

You tried your best to be understanding, but once again you sat alone in your own room crying as you scrolled through everyone's Instagram stories. Post after post featured Lorenzo surrounded by girls and guys, drinking, smiling, and dancing. But you weren't even invited or even told of it at all. But Lorenzo seemed to be having fun.

It was like this every day for months on end as you waited for the sweet Lorenzo you once loved. It was as if his plan was just to woo you in and then continue on with his perfect life. All he needed to do to make it even more perfect was secure a beautiful girlfriend and then he was set,

No matter how much you begged or cried for him to come back, he never did. Not even when you were on your knees begging for him to at least spend the night with you because you missed him. He rolled his eyes and comforted you, obviously wanting to leave the entire time. His words were so perfect yet his facial expression and body language lacked, making you question how easy it was for him to say the perfect words only to never mean it.

Even when you threw up from stress of school work and insecurities stacking up on you, he sighed and held your hair back. His touch was so warm, you've been lacking it for ages. But once you barfed again, he instantly groaned and let go of your hair, letting your hair fall into your face and vomit. He quickly ran to the sink to clean himself and then leave the rooom, disgusted by you. He left you there, alone on the cold bathroom floor to clean yourself up.

Even when you were sobbing and having a full blown panic attack, he wasn't there for you. Your knees were shaking and you could barely stand, feeling as if your entire body was no longer yours. Air was impossible to collect into your lungs as if they were never inside of you in the first place. Tears streamed so heavily down your face that they crawled down your neck and your collarbones. But he never wiped a single tears, instead handing you a box of tissues while he stared at you with no expression on his face. Although your brain was running 100 miles per hour, you could tell his face was a mix of disgust and pity, as if he was a doctor helping his crazy patient.

And whenever you did try to leave, wanting better for yourself- he never let you. Once you'd say you wanted to leave, he'd get teary eyed and beg on all fours for you to take him back, chanting how he was so blinded and stupid and stress and blah blah blah. Yet you fell for it every time, because you knew that once you took him back it would be the honeymoon phase once again.

One time you did fully break up with him, tired of the mistreatment and love bombing. But once you went to class you saw everyone's eyes on you, whispering to each other about how you were apparently a "crazy ex girlfriend" who made Lorenzo ball his eyes out. When you went to confront him, you saw him panicking and barely being able to breathe: just like how you were when you begged for him to love you.

Pasta and pizza are ideal for fussy eaters, children are welcomed rather than tolerated in restaurants and many bars, and family traditions and get-togethers are ingrained in society as much as the nation’s passion for an excellent meal. Nowhere is that more accurate than the Emilia Romagna region, which isn’t just renowned for being home to much of the country’s culinary genius but also for Italy’s longest riviera, coming in just shy of 60 miles of golden sands. And the best news? The waters of the Adriatic are pretty welcoming even outside of summer, making this a great spring or autumn holiday destination, too (outside of the season, many of the resorts close). Ideal for a week-long getaway of coast, cuisine and some culture, my one-week Emilia Romagna Riviera itinerary allows for plenty of time on the beach – where you’ll find all the amenities and entertainment you’ll need for kids and adults of all ages – as well as some historical and cultural sightseeing in Ravenna, renowned for its UNESCO-listed Byzantine mosaics. Comachhio, the ‘Little Venice’ of the region, is also a great jumping-off point to see flamingos in the Po Delta. With numerous family-friendly holiday resorts dotting the coast, many of which have camping, bungalows, and hotel room options alongside their kid’s club entertainment, it’s one of the best family destinations in Europe for varying budgets.  Let your teens be immersed in the Swiss Mountains and culture Summer camps in Switzerland  Best for: Cultural immersion for kids and teens (without the parents) Switzerland may seem a pricey choice for your teen’s first trip without the family, but there’s a multitude of reasons it’s so popular for summer camps. Of course, there’s the jaw-dropping dramatic scenery, which welcomes active and adventurous teens with its arms wide open, and the chance to experience one of Europe’s most peaceful societies. But there’s a bonus for letting your young ones spend a week or two in the mountains: language immersion. With four official languages (German, French, Italian and Romansh) and many camps operating in English, it’s a fantastic place for young adults to start to learn – or get a deeper in-practice understanding – of a second language. And it’s not just limited to these choices; some kids camps also offer other European languages, such as Spain, alongside their outdoor activities. While the exact age at which kids should start learning to ski is a subject of debate, most people agree that five years old is a good age. Of course, winter snowsport holidays are notoriously expensive, and that can be quite off-putting if you’re travelling as a large family or nervous that your kids won’t take to the sport. But getting out on the beginner pistes doesn’t have to cost a fortune, as I discovered when I (tried) learning to ski in Bansko, Bulgaria. Not only is this ski resort competitively priced with relatively affordable lessons, equipment hire and gondola passes, but the set-up of the resort lends itself a bit more to family-friendly holidays. Unlike some of the most upscale resorts in Northern Europe, where you need to ski to the Apres-Ski areas and restaurants, nearly all of these facilities are located just outside of the main lift in Bansko, meaning parents could take turns to spend time with any little ones inside the warm cafes, while the other heads higher up the slopes.  Another appealing feature is that many of the ski lifts on the site allow people to both go up and down while seated, meaning if you reach a piste and then decide it isn’t suitable for the family, you can also just enjoy the views before returning back down by chair lift. There’s also a ski kindergarten located at the base of the gondola station, helping to make it one of the most affordable, family-friendly winter holiday destinations in Europe.  From the coast to the countryside, Glamping locations are popping up across the UK Glamping in Great Britain  Best for: Reconnecting with nature without sacrificing comfort  A rising star when it comes to staycations in the UK, luxury camping (aka glamping) has become a firm favourite for family holidays, especially for those who want a relatively affordable way to reconnect with nature without giving up on their creature comforts. Offering a slightly more rural feel than many of the UK’s beloved family resort parks, these luxury camping options can range from yurts and upscale tents to converted barns and vehicles. The type of holiday you can enjoy also varies, with comfortable Glamping sites popping up nationwide. From southern coastal stays and Scottish mountain escapes to Welsh hinterland retreats, there’s something for all kinds of families. While the outlay is going to be slightly higher than a traditional camping spot, the benefits for families are numerous. Firstly, there’s no need to bundle everything but the kitchen sink into the car, as nearly all glamping sites have facilities, bedding and (best of all) the tent or glamping site already erected. Self-catering, as when camping, will also help keep the costs down, but you might even have a proper kitchen to work with rather than just a disposable BBQ.  Copenhagen has plenty of attractions for all ages A colourful and playful city break in Copenhagen, Denmark  Best for: A cultured family weekend with plenty for all ages  Picking a family-friendly city break in Europe is no easy task. Do you want more museums or green spaces? To be able to enjoy active adventures on day trips or just walk through peaceful city streets? And then, of course, there’s the budget factor. And while a weekend in Copenhagen might not tick the last box, it more than ticks all the others. The abundance of first-class activities to keep the kids entertained makes it one of the best family destinations in Europe for a weekend getaway. LEGOLAND® Billund has been long celebrated, and many who visit often rate it higher than the location in Windsor. The Tivoli Gardens amusement park, one of the world’s oldest, also has plenty to entertain kids of varying ages.

Then there are the more typical choices such as a zoo, aquarium and entertainment parks. For older teens (and adults), a colourful stroll along Nyhavn, visits to the story-laden palaces, or even tours of the many art galleries and museums provide a mix of entertainment and education. You can even scoot over to Malmo in Sweden on a train, which spends part of its journey inside an underwater tunnel.  Forget Disneyland and enjoy the fairytale feeling of Mont Saint-Michel instead No-fly France in Normandy and Brittany  Best for: A flight-free pile-in-the-car ferry trip vacation France has long been a popular and easy getaway for families of all ages, with Disneyland obviously being a favourite choice. However, there are plenty of short breaks in France to enjoy that aren’t Paris, with Brittany or Normandy, easily reachable with Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth or Poole, an ideal choice. Pile everything in the car (or cross without a vehicle) and arrive quickly and seamlessly without needing to fly – a bonus for the environment while saving on those airport hassles and checked luggage fees. While this means you could easily enjoy a weekend in North Fance, the region also lends itself to longer stays. This was actually my one and only school trip abroad when I was a teenager, and I loved it – although re-reading my trip report recently, it seems that we spent a lot of time in the Calvados museum, so perhaps the teachers loved it more! What makes it such a great family destination in Europe is the choice of activities and accommodation on offer. You can as easily camp as stay in a chateau, enjoy fine dining or eat crepes every day for fussy eaters, and relish beach days or cultural attractions. Magical Mont Saint-Michel, an Abbey-topped island that is enveloped by the tides, is ideal for a childhood fairytale moment, while the Bayeux Tapestry or D-Day Landing Beaches can be interesting historical sights for teens. It also gives the kids the chance to practise their French if they are taking lessons at school. Families enjoy the views high above Innsbruck Innsbruck’s easy-to-access Austrian Alps  Best for: Active outdoor adventures without the faff   Innsbruck is a city of two stories. In winter, it becomes a snow-coated playground for skiers and snowboarders, while summer in Innsbruck is much more about exploring the historic Old Town and enjoying clean-air walks. But no matter what time of year you visit, one thing remains constant: the impressive Austrian Alps, which are surprisingly easier to access. It’s this ease of access that, in my opinion, makes Innsbruck ideal for a family-friendly holiday in Europe. Not only can you reach the highest points of the nearby peaks in less than an hour from the centre, but thanks to the spacious gondolas and funiculars, you can easily reach the top with a pram or buggy, too. There are facilities located at both stations with bathrooms, changing rooms and restaurants, and some flat areas to admire the vistas from – there’s even an Alpine Zoo halfway up. The trails are also well maintained, making it ideal for easy walks amongst the Alps. The summer Innsbruck card – which has a 50% discount for 6-15-year-olds – offers access to all the museums and these mountain-reaching lifts.  While you could book a long weekend in Innsbruck to see the city’s highlights and take the kids on some scenic trails, extending your trip to spend a summer holiday in Austria is also not a bad idea. While many families will flock to the south for a beach getaway, the Alpine lakes, cute villages, and culture of the country when basking in the sun more than compensate for being in a landlocked nation.  Take the family on a journey through time in Sicily Slow down on a multi-generation trip across Sicily, Italy  Best for: Long and lazy offseason escapes  While the three-generation family on the White Lotus that came to seek out their long-lost heritage didn’t quite have the holiday

they planned, Sicily remains an excellent choice for family-friendly vacations in Europe – especially if you’re planning a multi-generation visit. Alongside all the reasons I gave above for Italy being one of the best family destinations in Europe, Sicily adds even more to the list. Gorgeous soft sand beaches and family-friendly hotels are complemented by incredible food and the island’s seven UNESCO sites, making it an ideal choice for much of the year, including during the spring and autumn school breaks. With so much crammed into the island, you can take the family on a journey through time. Admire Byzantine mosaics in Palermo, marvel at ancient Greek sites in Syracuse or the impressive Valley of the Temples, and learn about how the island became a crossroad of civilizations in the various museums and other notable sights. Or, just enjoy lazy days on the beach against the backdrop of picturesque towns such as Cefalu or Taormina. If the kids are a bit older, you could also enjoy some active adventures, such as gawping at Mount Etna, an active volcano, on a hike, or island-hopping across the Aeolian Islands. You’ll find some of Italy’s more offbeat destinations here alongside the most popular choices. And with plenty of incredible sea-view villas on offer, you can easily bring the extended family along for the ride.  A miniature Netherlands can be found at Madurodam, The Hague Combine city and seaside in The Hague, The Netherlands  Best for: Beach, museums, and miniatures  While Amsterdam might not have the most family-friendly reputation (although it’s a great choice when you forget about its notorious nightlife), there’s another underrated city in the Netherlands which makes for an ideal weekend getaway: The Hague. Often mistaken as a sterile and serious destination due to housing many international institutions, I was really taken aback by just how much was on offer after my long weekend in The Hague. Scheveningen has a gorgeous stretch of coast, with plenty of entertainment along the pier and promenade, making it ideal for a summer getaway. The city centre has a couple of cute canals and plenty of bikes to bring the ‘Amsterdam feel’. Then there are all the fantastic interactive museums – with a particular focus on human rights, peace, justice and art – which are good for introducing teens to some more sensitive subjects. If you’re visiting with younger kids, then the Madurodam theme park (also known as The Netherlands in miniature) and family-friendly theme park in Drievliet are solid options. The Algarve’s beaches are great for families Portugal’s culture and coast on a leisurely road trip  Best for: A bit of everything in a kid-friendly country  I couldn’t write a list of the best family destinations in Europe without including my adopted home, Portugal. Kids are adored here, and families are often given priority when waiting in line at airports, restaurants and even shops. It’s also a very safe country with plenty of kid-friendly spaces. Planning a trip to Portugal is also relatively easy, as the country is compact, meaning you could either just pick a region to relax or enjoy a road trip as a family to tour different areas. The southern coast is one of the most famous family-friendly holidays in Europe, thanks to the blue flag beaches and plenty of facilities. But there are plenty more things to do in the Algarve than just head to the shore, with water parks, small museums, flamingo sightings, and dramatic cliff-top walks to enjoy. Heading north from there, you’ll find the vast plains of the Alentejo – ideal for a really rural getaway with some wine (for the adults) – the colourful city of Lisbon and the second city of Porto. Alternatively, for a more active family holiday, the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores might appeal. My personal tip for the best family-friendly beach holiday in Portugal, though, is Porto Santo, a small blissful beach island located a short ferry ride from Madeira.

Cheat codes for NES Pokemon Yellow (NJ046 - Pocket Monsters - Yellow (C))

I found a few random cheat codes for the NES Chinese Pokémon Yellow (specifically the English patch).  Why?  idk bored lol.  These cheats were found in FCEUX but I’m sure could be used in any emulator where you can edit the value of an address in RAM. 

First are the move modifiers.  They seem to work different than official Pokémon games, rather than it being what slot in your party the Pokémon is in, it seems to be in the order that you caught the Pokémon (maybe)?? you may need to play with these codes to figure out which address applies to which Pokémon.

“I’m not.” You lied as you continued to work.

“Y/n.” Your coworker said pointedly.

“Leo.” You said in the same tone.

“You said you’d be done at 7.” Leo reminded you.

“It’s like ten minutes past 7.”

“Its 8:15. You promised you’d come out with me tonight. No more work.” Leo whined as they tried to pull you out of your chair.

“Just let me-“

“No.” Leo shut your laptop. “You’ve been here since 6 am. You’ve done enough for the day.”

“You’re dressed for a club. You know I hate clubs.” You pouted when you noticed what Leo was wearing.

“I don’t care. You need to loosen up a little and have some fun. You’ve been working way too hard lately.”

“But the shop-“

“The shop will be fine.” Leo cut you off. “We’re gonna go get drunk and have some fun. The shop will still be here in the morning.”

“Fine.” You grumbled. “But I’m not staying out too late.”

“Whatever you say.” Leo chuckled as the two of you went upstairs to your apartment.

Meanwhile, Tom and his friends were getting ready in a different part of the city.

“Oh my God. What are you wearing?” Harrison groaned when Harry came out of the bathroom in a metallic purple suit and kitten heel boots.

“It’s a suit, div.” Harry scoffed. “If you want women’s attention, you have to stand out.”

“You look like the joker.” Tom chuckled.

“I think it’s good that he’s wearing that.” Tuwaine spoke up. “It’ll give the women something distinct to describe him wearing when they report him to the bartender for creeping them out.”

“You’re clearly jealous.” Harry shrugged. “This is how people dress in New York. Wouldn’t expect an uncultured bitch like yourself to understand.”

“Which club are we going to again?” Sam asked.

“It’s called Spicy. Harry picked it out.” Tuwaine answered.

“Spicy?” Sam grimaced.

“Yeah. I’ll read you the description.” Tuwaine said as he pulled out his phone. “New York’s hottest club is SPICY. Opened in 2017 on the Upper East Side of a dumpster, this 24-hour bitchfest is the creation of club owner/rabbi Jew Diamond Phillips. This place has everything: Sand worms, geishas, rock-eaters, a seven level course in adult education. And if you want to relax, you can kick back in your very own subway sleeping bag.”

“What are subway sleeping bags?” Tom asked.

“How is that your only questions?” Harrison wondered.

“It says it’s that thing when you’re on the train and you sit between two guys in FUBU jackets.” Tuwaine read off his phone.

“New York is weird.” Harrison mumbled.

“There is no way this is a real place.” Tom shook his head.

“It’s not, you divs.” Harry rolled his eyes. “You read the wrong thing Tuwaine. The club I picked out is below it. It’s called Destiny.”

“Destiny?” Tom smiled. “I like the sound of that.”

“Don’t read into it.” Sam shook his head. “I’m sure nothing eventful is gonna happen tonight.”

“For you, maybe. But I’m determined to have a life changing experience tonight.” Harry replied.

“As long as your expectations aren’t too high.” Sam said sarcastically. “Come on. I want to get there before all the sand worms are gone.”

“Mate, there won’t be any sand worms.” Tuwaine told him.

“You don’t know that.” Sam snapped.

As the boys drove over to the club, you and Leo got on the line outside.

“I’m freezing. I can’t believe I let you convince me to wear this dress.” Your teeth chattered as you tugged on your tiny sparkly blue dress. Leo was dressed in a similar colored pant suit without a shirt underneath.

“It’s fine.” Leo waved their hand. “You look hot and we’ll be inside soon.”

“We better.” You said as you rubbed your bare arms.

“I’d give you my jacket, but I don’t think this is a nips out kinda place.”

“I hope not.” You chuckled.

“Come on in.” The bouncer stepped aside and let the two of you in. It didn’t take long for the stress of the day to melt away as you got lost in the music. You and Leo danced to a song you didn’t recognize while Harry made his way back to his friends at the other side of the club.

“Dude, this place is way too crowded. The bartender won’t even look at me.” Harry told the group when he got back to their table.

“Because you’re dressed like the evil female President in every sci-fi movie.” Tuwaine told him.

“I’ll try my luck.” Tom offered. “No more bullying Harry until I get back.”

Tom walked over to the bar and raised his hand, taking a minute to admire the way you looked in your dress. You noticed him trying to flag down the bartender and put your hand on his shoulder.

“I wouldn’t bother. He hasn’t looked at this side of the bar at all.” You told him.

“Really? If you can’t get attention in that dress then there’s not hope for the rest of us.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” You asked as you covered your body with your arms.

“I’m sorry.” Tom said quickly. “I just meant you look really good and bartenders usually pay attention to the pretty girls. I wasn’t trying to be crass.”

“No, I’m sorry.” You shook your head. “I’m just really insecure about this dress. I actually really needed the compliment. And you’re pretty too. That’s probably why neither of us can get service. We’re too intimidating.”

“Thank you.” Tom chuckled. “But why would you be insecure about this dress?”

“It’s not what I usually wear.” You said as you tugged the dress down to cover yourself a little more.

“It should be. You should wear this to work tomorrow.” Tom joked.

“I will.” You played along. “I’m sure the people at my bakery would love that.”

“You work at a bakery? That’s amazing.”

“I own a bakery, actually.” You said proudly.

“Wow. That’s even more amazing. So you’re a girboss? And did I use that correctly?” Tom asked.

“No. Please don’t ever say that again.” You laughed and patted his arm. Tom laughed as well and felt his confidence spike now that he had you smiling.

“I have an idea.” Tom looked around before leaning over the bar and grabbing a few beers.

“He won’t miss them.” Tom said as he handed you two beers. “Do you want or join my friends and I?”

“Sure.” You smiled. “Let me grab my friend.”

You and Tom parted ways as you went back over to your table.

“Leo. Come on. I found some people.” You took your friends hand and tugged them towards Tom.

“You got us drinks and found people? Who are you?” Leo asked as you dragged Leo over to Tom’s table.

“Hi again.” You smiled. “This is Leo.”

“Hi Leo. This is Harry, Sam, Tuwain, and Harrison.” Tom introduced the table.

“Why do you look like a family band?” Leo asked over the music.

“We’re twins and that’s our older brother.” Sam answered as he pointed to Harry and Tom.

“I’m not related to them.” Harrison spoke up.

“Me either.” Tuwaine added. “If you can believe it.”

“I’m Tom by the way.” Tom said.

“I’m Y/n. Thanks for the drinks, Tom.” You grinned and clinked your drink against his.

“Thanks for the company.“ He replied.

As the night went on, you came out of your shell more and the drinks flowed. You stayed by Tom’s side all night, having fragments of conversations over the loud club music. For some reason, people kept buying Tom drinks and sending them to your table. Within a few hours, everyone at your table was wasted and laughing like you’d known each other your whole lives.

“Do you want to dance with me?” Tom shouted over the music.

“I can’t dance.” You shouted back.

“Neither can I. Actually, that’s a lie. I was on the West End. But let’s dance anyway.” He laughed and took your hand. You let Tom lead you to the dance floor and wrapped your arms around him once you got there. You danced together all night, not caring who was watching or what you looked like. You felt free when you were with Tom, something you hadn’t felt in a long time. He pulled you closer during a fast sign and leaned down next to your ear.

“It’s really loud in here.”

“I know. Do you want to go somewhere more quiet?”

“I can’t hear you. Let’s go somewhere more quiet.” He said as he took your hand. You left the club and walked into the cold New York air, staying close to each other for warmth.

“It’s freezing out here.” You shivered and rubbed your arms.

“Here. Take my jacket.” Tom slipped his number jacket off and wrapped it around your shoulders, never letting go of the lapels.

“Thanks.” You smiled shyly and stepped closer to him.

“I have to say, darling, meeting you tonight feels like destiny.” Tom said as his eyes fell to your lips.

“Oh my God. The club is literally called Destiny! It’s meant to be.” You giggled and stumbled into his arms, becoming aware of how drunk you were.

“I think I’m in love with you. And I’m not just saying that because I’m drunk.” Tom chuckled as he wrapped his arms around your waist.

“You are definitely just saying that because you’re drunk, but I don’t care. Let’s get married tonight. Do you talk to other people? I love you.” You said before crashing your lips to his. You kissed him outside the club for what felt like hours, tangling your fingers in his curls the way you’d been wanting to do all night. Drunk under a streetlight, you and Tom went from strangers to just a little more.

“Do you want to get out of here?” He asked you. “I’m staying in a hotel nearby.”

“Does it have a bathroom?”

“I think so.”

“It sounds beautiful.” You gasped. “Let’s go.”

You clung to Tom’s arm as he called his driver, giggling at the way he drunkenly slurred his words. You climbed into the backseat of the car soon enough and pulled him into another heated kiss. You were drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar as you kissed him like it was the last time you’d ever see him.

When you pulled up to his hotel, he chased you down the hallway as you laughed loudly. You reached his room and pressed your back against his door as he leaned in and kissed you again. You stumbled into his hotel room and shed your clothes as he lead you towards his bed.

“I think you’re beautiful.” Tom sighed against your mouth as he hovered above you.

“You’re beautiful too.” You smiled up at him while tracing patterns on his neck.

“I’m really glad I came out tonight. I’m glad I met you.” He said as he leaned down to kiss your neck.

“Do you think we’ll remember any of this in the morning?” You asked him.

“I hope so. But I don’t think we will.” He laughed against your skin.

“Then let make the most of tonight, yeah?”

“Yeah.” Tom nodded before kissing you again.

You woke up the next morning in a messy entanglement of sheets and limbs. Your head pounded as you sat up in bed, eyes widening when you saw Tom’s naked body sleeping beside you. You grabbed one of the hotel pillows and covered him up before taking in your surroundings. You had no memory of where you were or how you got there, and even less memory of where you clothes had gone. Tom stirred beside you suddenly before his eyes fluttered open.

“Good morning.” He said in a groggy voice.

“You’re British?”

“Yes?” He said as he sat up.

“This whole time?” You gasped.

“Yeah.”

“I had no idea.” You realized as you sheepishly pulled the sheets up to cover your naked body.

“Sorry you had to find out this way.” He chuckled.

“It’s okay.” You chuckled as well, slowly remembering why you liked him.

“Do you want to get breakfast or something?” He asked as he tugged his boxers back on.

“Okay…”

“Tom.” He reminded you.

“Right. Tom. I’m Y/n.“

“Nice to meet you.” He awkwardly held out his hand. You reached out and shook his hand, accidentally dropping the sheets that were covering your body.

“You too.” You smiled sheepishly and covered yourself with your arms. Tom walked over to his suitcase and pulled out a shirt and some sweat pants. He silently put them on the bed before turning around to give you your privacy. You quickly tugged the shirt and pants on and cleared your throat.

“So, breakfast?” You smiled awkwardly.

“Yeah.” He returned the smile and nodded towards the door.

You went to a nearby diner and had a surprisingly good time as you caught up over breakfast. He was just as charming at the bits and pieces you remembered from the night before and you fully understood why you went home with you.

“So what do you do for a living? I think you told me last night but I honestly don’t remember anything.” You chuckled as you sipped your water.

“Me either. It’s all a blur.” He replied. “I’m an actor.”

“Oh, wow.” You nodded. “Have I seen you in anything?”

“Do you watch marvel movies?”

“I don’t like superhero movies.” You scrunched your nose apologetically.

“That’s okay. I play Spiderman.”

“Oh shit. That’s a big deal, right? He’s pretty popular.”

“You could say that.” He chuckled. “What do you do?”

“I own a bakery.”

“Oh, right.” He remembered. “That’s so cool. What’s your favorite think to make?”

“Ooo. That’s tough.” You pursed your lips. “Probably red velvet cupcakes. I feel really sophisticated when I make them.”

“I’ve never tried red velvet actually. I’m more of a chocolate cake kinda guy.”

“Chocolate is great too.” You smiled.

“What’s your bakery called?”

“Here. I have a card actually.” You said as you handed him your business card. “My friend Leo works there too. I don’t know if you remember them. They were with me last night.”

“I vaguely remember them. Did they get home okay?”

“I have absolutely no idea. Oh God.” Your eyes widened. “I hope they got home okay. I never told them where I was going.”

You pulled out your phone to text Leo but were met with the battery sign.

“Shoot. My phone is dead.”

“Here. You can use mine.” Tom slid his phone across the table. You gave him a grateful smile and went to text Leo but immediately frowned.

“What’s wrong?“ Tom asked.

“I don’t know their number. I don’t know anyones number. God, I’m so hungover. Why did I drink so much?” You groaned and rubbed your head.

“I’m gonna text my driver and send you to your bakery. Maybe Leo is there.” Tom offered as he sent his driver a text.

“Maybe. I hope so.” You smiled weakly. “I can’t believe I left them there and went home with a stranger. I’m never like this. I’m usually the one taking care of Leo on a night out. I totally abandoned them.”

“The driver is on his way.” Tom told you. “You’ll find your friend. Don’t worry.”

“Thank you.” You sighed. “For everything. We should do this again sometime.”

“I would love that.” Tom smiled. “I really would.”

“Can I get your number?” You asked him.

“Of course. Here.” Tom write his number down on the back of your business card and gave it back to you. The car pulled up outside just then and you and Tom exchanged a sad smile.

“Well, this was really fun. The parts I remember, at least.” You said as you stood up. “Also, I think I left my underwear in your hotel room.”

“I’ll let you know if I find it.” Tom chuckled.

“Keep it.” You shrugged. “Consider it a parting gift.”

Tom’s face blushed a deep red as you bent down and kissed his cheek. He watched through the diner window as you gave him one last grateful smile before shutting the car door.

When you pulled up to your bakery, you were relieved to see the lights on and customers inside.

“Leo. Thank God. Thanks for opening.” You said as you hugged Leo.

“There you are.” They laughed and hugged you back. “Where were you? I saw you leave with that Australian guy and never come back.”

“He’s British actually, which I just learned. And I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to abandon you.”

“Please.” Leo waved their hand. “I left like ten minutes after you did. I’m just glad you had fun.”

“I did have fun.” You smiled. “How did you get home?”

“I shared an Uber with the blonde one. Henry I think.”

“There was a blonde one?”

“Yeah. Apparently there were twins too. I thought they were the same guy the whole night.” Leo recalled as they helped you into your apron.

“Oh God. I don’t remember any of it. I’m never drinking again.” You groaned and hung your head in shame.

“You’ll be fine after you take some Advil.” Leo said as they handed you the bottle. “Thanks for coming out with me last night.”

“Thanks for bringing me out.” You smiled gratefully. “I actually had a lot of fun. And the guy I met was really nice.”

“I know. I couldn’t believe the chemistry between you two. Are you gonna see him again?” Leo asked they poked your side.

“No.” You waved your hand. “It was just a one time thing.”

“It doesn’t have to be. It seemed like he was really into you.”

“He was probably just nice to me so he could take me home. No one goes on a second date with their one night stand.”

“I don’t know.” Leo shrugged. “I got genuine vibes from him. He seemed like a good guy.”

“Maybe. I gave him my business card. I’ll see if he calls.” You shrugged, forgetting Tom gave the card back to you when he gave you his number. You started to put muffins in the display case and stopped suddenly when you felt the room spin.

“Are you okay?” Leo came to your side when they saw your face.

“I think so. I just got really nauseous all the sudden.”

“Go upstairs and drink some water.” They told you. “I can run the shop for a bit.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m positive. I got this.” Leo smiled and pushed you towards the staircase.

“Thank you.” You blew them a kiss. Leo finished putting the muffins in the display case as you ran upstairs to your apartment. When you got out of the shower, you felt another wave of nausea hit you. You puked into your toilet and chalked it up to being hungover as you brushed your teeth. When you left the bathroom, you tossed the clothes you borrowed from Tom into your hamper. You stared at the clothes for a minute, wondering if you should call him or not. You decided to leave it up to him to call before going back down to your bakery.

8 weeks later

“I’m so mad.”

“What’s his problem?” Sam wondered when he noticed his brothers scowl.

“He had another dream about the girl from the club.” Tuwaine said out of the corner of his mouth.

“I should’ve called her that night.” Tom shook his head. “I can’t believe I let her get away.”

“It’s fine, mate.” Sam assured him. “Maybe you losing her business card was a sign that it wasn’t meant to be.”

“I didn’t lose it. I gave it back to her when I gave her my number. Why would I do something so stupid?” Tom groaned. “I just wish I could explain myself. I hate the idea of her sitting by the phone, waiting for me to call.”

“She hasn’t called you either.” Tuwaine reminded him.

“I guess you’re right.” Tom sighed. “I just thought we really liked each other. Maybe I was feeling it more than she was.”

Meanwhile, you were hunched over the toilet in your bakery while Leo rubbed your back.

“Are you okay?” Leo asked. “This is like the fourth morning in a row you’ve left bagel duty to puke.”

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’ve been nauseous all week. And my mood swings have been crazy.” You groaned as you got up and wiped your mouth.

“Sounds like PMS.”

“It can’t be. I’m not on my period.” You shook your head. Now that Leo mentioned it, you couldn’t remember the last time you had your period.

“What’s today?” You gulped and pulled out your period tracking app.

“The 27th, why?”

“I haven’t gotten my period this month.” You realized.

“The month isn’t over yet.” Leo shrugged. “It could still come.”

“The last time I got it was three months ago on the 8th.” You said as you showed Leo your app. You locked eyes with Leo as your hands began to shake, both of you realizing what this meant.

“I think I need to go to the pharmacy.” You said with a shaky voice.

“I’ll drive.” Leo grabbed their keys and put a hand on your back as you went to the door.

“I wish I could remember the name of her bakery. It was some sort of pun.” Tom tried to remember as he rubbed his temples.

“Every bakery in New York is some sort of pun.” Tuwaine replied. “You’ll never find her.”

“I know. I just miss her.” Tom pouted. “I think about her all the time. I really thought we had something. We said it was destiny that we met that night.”

“Well maybe destiny will bring you guys together again.” Sam shrugged.

Back in New York, tears welled in your eyes as you stared down at the positive pregnancy test in your hands.

“Shit.” You whispered. “I gotta call Tom.”

A/N: So I fell in love with a game called Boyfriend Dungeon, and highly recommend. There are some light spoilers in this!! Hence why you have to press the read more. This is purely a passion piece, honestly. (Sunder isn't even my favorite). But anyway if you like fighting games, Soul Eater, cute romance sims, queer relationships, and non-binary representation, I highly suggest Boyfriend Dungeon.

“Even for a vampire, it’s cold out here.” Is all Sunder says when he meets you at the beach at midnight. Exactly what you asked for. You’re not sure why you’re so surprised to see he’s come.

“Sorry to tear you away from a warm bed and body.” You murmur around the mouth of a wine bottle. It was a nasty habit, drinking red wine straight from the source, but glasses seemed so formal right now.

“Cold bed. I wasn’t feeling it tonight.” He grunts as he sits down in the sand next to you, and you glance over at him. He had a shirt on. Odd.

“You come from the club?”

“No. Basement’s still a dunj. I don’t have energy for dancing lately.”

“Oh, damn. I thought we fixed it together.”

“Someone new came into town. They have a lot of fears.”

“They a weapon?”

“No. They’re using me.”

“Fun?”

“Hell.” He groans, falling back. His hair splays behind him and you lean on one hand to look down at him.

“Sorry, Sunder.”

“You know, if you’re back in town, we can go for a romp. Like old times. We can actually get rid of it at least. Damn martinis keep scaring away my customers.”

“I’m not back, Sunder.”

He raises one well-sculpted eyebrow.

“Then I’m really tired, because I can see you right next to me.”

You shrug, and turn back towards the ocean and take another drink. You feel a pinch in your side and you slap Sunder’s hand away, swiveling your head to look at him.

“Hey, that hurt, jerk.”

“Well, you feel real too.”

“Could’ve poked me.”

“Nah, the pinch was for leaving me for so long.”

You chuckle.

“Sunder, you’re a vampire. Isn’t a year basically a minute for you?”

“Not when it comes to you. Any time I’m apart from you feels like eternity.”

He’s not smirking. This would be the one time you want to see him smirk. You can’t face real feelings at the moment, not even your own.

“Sun, I just want to lay on this beach with you, and drink this shitty red wine, and catch up. Then we’ll talk about why I’m not here.”

After a moment of looking intensely at you, like he wanted to unravel your mind and pull your thoughts through your lips, he nods succinctly and lays back to look at the sky.

“New person came. Dunj appeared again. I already told you that. Another dunj appeared under the church too. I’m not helping with that one though, it burns me even thinking of the place. Newbie likes Isaac better anyway, which I’m fine with. Fighting without you just tires me out.”

“How’s Mandie?”

“Moved on for right now. She’ll be back. Think La Rosa was just boring her. I agree. Same people, over and over.”

“Aren’t you happy about fresh blood then?”

“Metaphorically or literally?”

“Both.”

“No. Even a vampire has tastes.”

“What is your taste?”

“They have to be witty. And O negative.”

“Funny.”

“What?”

“That’s my blood type.”

He props himself up on one elbow, facing towards you.

“That’s a fun little tidbit.”

“Damn, didn’t know it would interest you that much.”

“You’re all I want. Why wouldn’t that interest me?”

You bite your lip. He’s all you want too, but you’re just so tired. You can’t keep running, but you don’t know how to stop either.

Being with him means being here for eternity. On this Earth, in this body, in this mind, forever. Can you handle that?

Why is it so hard to say no to yourself, but yes to him?

“Sorry. Got carried away.” You were silent for too long. He fell back to look at the sky.

“No, it’s alright. Just been thinking for a while.”

“Oh?”

“Remember that night? Our first date, I guess you can call it, when you needed a quick drink and went to the alley?”

“Yeah?”

“How am I to be sure I’m not left in that alley?”

He stayed silent, then sighed.

“There’s nothing I can say that can dissuade this fear for you.”

“There’s one thing you could say.”

“What?”

“I don’t think you’ve ever said it before.”

“What is it?”

“I can’t tell you. You have to figure that out on your own.”

You take the last swig of wine. You both stay in silence for a few more minutes.

“Mom died.” You finally say, and run your fingers through your hair.

“Oh…jeez..I’m so sorry, I had no idea.”

“It’s fine. I asked Jesse to keep it hush. He was alright with it, thankfully.”

“Are you alright? Do you need anything?”

“Just you. I just needed you here, with me.”

“Always.”

“Always?”

“You’re not getting rid of me.”

“Then say it.”

You turn to look at him, and his face is pained.

He thinks for a moment, then sighs again, opening his arms. You set your bottle to the side and lay down in the sand, moving to lay against his chest. You’re a perfect fit. You wonder why you haven't done this before.

You listen to the sound of water crashing against wet sand until you can see the first bit of orange glow on the horizon. At this, Sunder kisses your cheek, and you feel his lips ghost to your ear. He murmurs, and you’re barely able to hear him.

“I love you.”

Rayan is a small boy with long dark magenta hair. He keeps the longer bits in thin braids that fall over his shoulders, resting against his chest. He has the shorter bits on the back of his head tied back in a small ponytail. He has magenta eyes. For his school uniform, he wears a sleeveless shirt with the vest over it. He forgoes the blazer and wears a black cardigan instead. Rayan also wears glasses.

Personality:

Rayan is believed to be a devious person, but he is also known to be a kind and open person. He is also known to be bluntly honest to a fault however.

Background:

Rayan hails from a noble family. However, he is not the eldest child. As a result, he does not have to take on any family responsibilities. His parents still show him just as much love as they give the rest of his siblings, but they give him more freedom to do what he wants to do.

Because of this, he had taken to wandering the streets. During one of his trips, he met Emil Mays and was quick to befriend him. Despite Emil’s thieving tendencies, Rayan still saw him as a good person and invited him over for dinner on several occasions.
