I try to tag for commonly triggering content but i sometimes forget for stuff like bugs because i simply dont find them scary or upsetting. if you really cant handle seeing a bug at any capacity then my blog probably isnt for you. I consider bugs in less scientific context to be all of pancrustacea, but i tag spiders separately because some people fear them uniquely, and i do not tend to tag for crustaceans such as shrimp or crabs because discomfort around those is less common. I tag very plainly; I do not use cw or tw, I just flat out tag the thing as itself. i also try to tag for all animal death and dead animals, including bugs and fish (which are tagged separately because i know not everyone reacts to dead bugs or fish the same as mammals or birds or reptiles)

If your dni has an identity that i identify with on there then know i am not not interacting with you out of respect, i am not interacting with you because you are a fucking asswipe. Ok since hockey has slowed down a bit, im gonna properly listen to The*Russ*an*Five by Ke*th Gave all in one go and pick it apart like i do. Any names/keywords will be censored because of tumblr's idiot policy of auto tagging shit. My OWN liveblog tag will be "trf liveblog" for any blacklisting purposes, though i dont think i will spam too much. Sorry. Just be grateful its an audio book and i no longer own highlighters and notebooks like my poor history textbooks. I could be WAY more annoying trust me.

Some notes on the bias - this book is interesting because its a primary source, but the author is uhhh.....pro america to put it nicely. Im not exactly a fan of the united states of america, i think thats pretty obvious from my blog - my personal point of no return was in high school: learning about the imperialist policies and interference in south america and the sheer hypocrisy of how my country does one thing and then will condemn another country for doing what amounts to the exact same thing. The writer of this book, however, definitely falls under the category of america stan. :/ i think he tries to frame it like its because he was an active agent during the cold war, and ok sure.

BUT my own grandfather was at the center of the space race during the apollo 11 era - im looking at the medallion he received sitting on my desk as i write. And from everything i remember, whenever we would go to the museum of flight and grandpa would wander around commenting on this or that, he spoke with the same admiration for the advancements russia was making during that time as the stuff he worked on himself. And i think there's something to be said that without the political competition and nonsense, the united states as a whole would never funded the space race like they did, and grandpa might never have gotten his rocket to the moon. And yet there's also something to be said about how so much money was being poured into going to the moon, that other areas of public life were being neglected. - lovecraft country makes this arguement heavily, so does hidden figures. My grandfather was working in a tiny integrated subsection of alabama (with very FEW black coworkers - one of whom i met), on a project intended to showcase the prestige of american ingenuity to the world, at a time when segregation and racism marked our country's history horrifically and caused countless deaths that history would prefer to forget. But russia is the enemy we are supposed to hate.

What im saying is there is nuance to everything. And this book has fucking NONE of it lol.

can we acknowledge that gaining independence from russia when you at least have a multi-million population and you aren’t landlocked to russia/russian-aligned countries is different. to gaining independence with a huge population and neighbours in the EU who will help you and trade with you etc. when you ‘gain independence’ and your only neighbours are russia and russia-aligned countries who will refuse to even interact with your economy... isn’t that different? am i just stupid and missing something?

like. there are native populations in russia that barely make it to 50k people IN TOTAL. there are native populations who are landlocked to russia and have No Other Neighbouring Countries At All. how exactly are we expecting them to resist and separate from russia? especially if they’re incredibly, devastatingly poor and have NOTHING in terms of infrastructure? you wouldn’t fucking say this about native people in other countries. like im not saying its okay to just sit on your ass and do nothing! im not saying ‘oh its not their fault they got sent to war’ or that participating in the war as an ethic minority is okay in any way. but can we acknowledge that separating from russia isnt that fucking easy for native populations? and to call them ‘slaves’ for not separating earlier is fucking insane? especially considering. lets be fucking real buryats arent an ethic group exclusive to russia for one thing. buryats in mongolia and china have no culture too or?...

god i love the fact that nobody seems to be reading this shit whatsoever, and even /i/ dont seem to be capable of finding my own posts. this is the best. what i have issue is, is xinjiang. and with them censoring gay stories, or even stories that are slightly queer coded. straight up banned "unconventional gender roles" from television. some people adapted a gay wuxia comic, then watered it down until it was all subtext, and that wasnt enough. the state had to step in and say "no guys with long hair that write poetry period". but i forgot T_T BASICALLY you know the do re mi fa so la ti do? that is called a scale and the syllables you say in that scale are called so-fa syllables. now. the tonic is the home key or the first note in a scale. in our example that is 'do'. if i started with re, (re mi fa so la ti do re) then the tonic would be re.

here it is on a piano. the letters below it is its key degree equivalent, basically do=c, re=d, etc. now so that i have a visual, do going to re is considered a whole step because of the black key between them. re to mi is also a whole step because of the black key between them. but mi and fa is a half step because they dont have a black key between them.

Hello.

I'm not here to argue with you about your POV. When someone "rubs" you the wrong way, nothing they or someone else says can make you change your mind (at least thats my POV), but I wanna offer a different perspective.

I'm not going to write indepth about his childhood in Serbia, I think there is enough videos online to get a perspective about his start and especially the time period in which he started to practice tennis. That kind of time leaves a mark on you no matter how big or small you are.

So, at the beginning of his professional carrer and for the first few years in his rise in the ATP rankings, he was slowly starting to become a problem (but not consistent problem for his biggest rivals). During that time the UK offered him a british citizenship and everything that comes with that, which he declined. He also declined to become a Nike athlete.

One of the reasons I mention his childhood in Serbia, his biggest rivals, the british citinzenship and Nike offers is because these reasons are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how media likes to portrait him. Ever since he build his way up in the ATP rankings, the double standard in everything he does is so obvious if you look at it from his side.

Everyone can try and say it doesnt matter where he comes from, but oh boy it does. Especially when you play in THE WEST.

I'm not going to say much about Nadal and Federer, I respect their records but from my POV they also became part of the ATP/NIKE top that is basically saying YOU CANT DO ANYTHING WRONG when you are ours. I know this may seem like a silly and not a real thing, but if you try to look a little closer maybe you'll see what I mean (you can say these are silly but Nadal got his wish and a chair umpire wasnt allowed to oficiate his matches, as well as the whole thing with Federer/the Laver cup and what is was supposed to be).

When it comes to Covid, my choice was to get the vaccine as well as his choice was not to. He was never the anti-vaccine/spokesperson to not take the Covid vaccine as the media likes to portait him, his mantra was "my body, my choice". He missed out on many tournaments because of it. The west didnt like or understand that not everyone and every country in the world had the same measurements as them during Covid. Tournament he organized for players (basically to get funds for lower ranked players that were struggling financially) during covid in Serbia was done by respecting every measure that was in place by the government during that time, and it was the only tournament that had free vaccines for anyone that wanted to get vaccinated.

Maybe I missed the part where he supports Russia (And I mean in context of the war cause if there is one thing he hates, it's war of any kind). He lived through war, he knows what its like and I dont believe he would wish war on anyone)

And for the latest quotes about the match with Rune, even a BBC reporter Sara Thornton, as well as fans in the stands, said that there were jerks in the crowd booing Novak using the disguise of the name Rune and that other people then joined (during his service games, when he fell down etc). Its not the first time, but I think the reason he said what he said was because his children were watching the match and I'm sure it didnt feel good playing under that kind of atmosphere. Like, even now the Sky Sports Tennis got slapped by the community note on Twitter for misquoting his speech after the match (the tweet got deleted). One UK reporter during yesterdays match also gave an example how people can boo him by using the name Musetti.

I also want to point out that Novak took the time to thank all the people who are respectful and appreciative and love tennis during his speech, but the media only focused on a part where he calls out the booing.

Someone said on Twitter, he is in his NO FUCKS LEFT TO GIVE era. I hope thats true.

Thats my POV.

As I as said at the start, I'm not here to change your mind about Novak. I just wanted to write a different perspective.

I'm sorry for all the grammer mistakes cause English is not my first language and for not giving more examples, but I can always name a few Nole fans that have kept receipts about media and double standard since his begining.

so Djokovic. he is a legend. probably when he retires the big 3 will be only a memory because all the records will be his and the goat debate will be (seemingly) settled for generations. and there are some things that he should be respected for like his ability to adjust and change his game and learn and always try new things. these are qualities of a true champion and winner.

but other than that? no sympathy for him at all. I know that crowd’s sympathy is not a thing that ultimately makes you a winner but Djokovic seems to complain about his unpopularity a lot. it sounds like a pure hypocrisy. he does so many borderline things or things that are outright wrong such as his Covid controversies, his support for Russia or even the one related to the game where he antagonises the crowds and feeds his confidence by degrading others (the best example is the recent on-court interview after his defeated rune).

all in all, he may be a record-holder but he should not be placed as an example. he tries to play the family guy card, but in the light of everything he does, it is seems not genuine. he cares a lot about the game and has some really important messages to voice such as a the paddle as a competition, but is he himself a good promotor of the game? not really. for the audience, the message is: the player has to degrade you to be successful. not a great endorsement.

to conclude: is he the most dominant player? yes. is he the goat? i believe there is something more to the term than just numbers and titles.

At this point the only art I'm making is for this cursed fandom... Guess I'll never truly get out of the Hetalia circle lol

Anyway, here are my headcanons for the absolute himbo that is Alfred F. Jones.

Appearance, fashion and demeanour:

Alfred has short dirty blonde hair styled in a side part.

He has wide, deep blue eyes filled with curiosity and intrigue. Immediately when you meet Alfred, there is a warmth to him. He makes you feel like you really should be talking to him. You feel as if he could fix all your problems with his signature Hollywood smile.

He has a delicate nose with a slight bump that is absolutely perfect for his face.

Those features, along with fuller lips, give him the trademark Hollywood poster boy look. This masculine and rugged cowboy looks good, and unfortunately for everyone, knows it.

Alfred works out almost every day to keep himself in the best possible shape. He is tall (still not as tall as Matthew) and, along with his muscular frame, will use his height to his advantage whenever he can.

His fashion sense varies from hypebeast to the latest and most fashionable suits he can get. When it comes to fashion (along with anything in his life), Alfred likes to show off. He likes to give of the aura that he isn't worried much about what other think, yet deep down, wants people to regard him as this ideal person/country. He is very much aware of how other perceive him and what they think of him though.

Alfred is way more intelligent than what he is perceived as. In his own twisted way, he likes for the others to believe he hasn't touched a real book in centuries. This, of course, is very far from the truth. Alfred loves reading and generally acquiring informations through any means possible. He is very dedicated to understanding as much as he can in as little time as he can. He is an absolute perfectionist.

Alfred is loud and assertive. I wouldn't say he is selfish but he is very self-centered. Sometimes it's hard for him to see a point from another's perspective due to his idealism.

One of his passions is astronomy. It has been for centuries, since he was a child. During his childhood, Arthur would buy him any astronomy book that he could get his hands on. He would bring the boy the latest books on space that were not even translated into English yet. This hobby of his precedes even his love for enlightenment literature.

Family and friends:

Alfred is Arthurs first son as well as England's first overseas colony. He received that special treatment only firstborns get. Especially firstborns whose father is Arthur Kirkland. As a child Alfred was spoiled. He got to read whatever he wanted, even if that literature went against what dear old dad stood for (I.e. enlightenment books). Alfred had the freedom (*cough cough*) to ask for

whatever from the English Empire and his dear papi would probably get it for him.

Most of his childhood was spent in London with Arthur, but he also spent a lot of his time in the colonies. Alfred hated rain so one could say he was thrilled when he got to leave the boring and rainy London and go to his home in Virginia.

He considers Matthews arrival into the Kirkland household as one of the best times in his childhood. As a lonely only child, he was very excited when he got a brother to play and spend time with. While he was a lot for Matt to handle at once (due to Alfred's loud and extroverted nature), he eventually started to appreciated Alfred. They were inseparable from 1763 to about 1775 when Alfred left to pursue his revolution. This of course left

a big hole in Matthew's heart and Alfred knows this, yet doesn't know how to show his brother that he understands his pain. The person he doesn't know how much he hurt is Arthur. After disowning Alfred, Arthur wasn't as affectionate with the rest of his children later on. The emotions and feelings he showed Alfred were thrown back in his face and he wouldn't let that happen again.

Alfred found a mentor in Francis, Arthur's Long time rival (occasional lover) and enemy. Francis was intelligent and a good tactician. They got along very well. Francis showed Alfred the wonders of Versailles, and even though that was a bit much for Alfred's liking, the boy still found it all to be very inspiring. Even today Alfred still regards Francis as his mentor in certain ways.

Along with Francis, Gilbert was an influence as well as a first crush for Alfred. Though if Gil was even aware of Alfred's affections was questionable, or if he was he certainly didn't reciprocate those affections. To Francis it was all a bit to obvious but he never made any comments. Later on Alfred's crush on Gilbert luckily died down.

There are many countries that simply dislike Alfred. During the cold War it was Russia/The Soviet Union and other communist nations. Even today there is China who certainly doesn't like the over-ambitious young boy. Every one of those countries has the same mindset when it comes to the young idealist: he got his powers wayyy too soon. He didn't suffer enough for the position he is in. Alfred was lucky and had been born to a start-up superpower who was not hesitant to teach him the rules of the game their kind played.

Nevertheless, there is a small bit of respect given to Alfred by most of his rivals.

Again, my headcanons are getting too long so this is where I shall stop myself lol

Dinluke Anastasia AU

I feel like this could go either way with Din being Anastasia or Luke being Anastasia, but the one with Din being the lost prince is being a little harder for me to figure out, so here’s my Dmitri!Din and Anastasia!Luke thoughts

(also this is like... somewhere between actually being set in 1920s Russia for the movie’s aesthetics and a GFFA so... do with that what you will)

The obvious start is Vader’s empire crumbling around him as people rise up

(we can go full animated movie with undead Palpatine pulling the magical strings if yall want, entirely optional)

The palace is in chaos on that night and in the middle of it all, there’s a young palace guard, barely of age himself, who sees these two scared kids who have no idea who their father truly is, and he can’t take it. He grabs them and shoves them down a secret corridor, telling them to run

The kids, Luke and Leia, both barely ten, do as their told and run until they meet with the Organas, trusted family friends, and escape the palace. Somewhere along the way, Luke is lost, hitting his head, and with the mob, they can’t go back and get him

Transition to 20 years later, give or take

Leia is the “grandmama” figure; she barely remembers her brother but the rumor of her twin surviving is her one lifeline to her family even if she has conflicting feelings over surviving and everything because now she’s in a democratic country

So she entertains men who claim to be her long lost twin. None of them are and her disappointment and

Luke grows up in an orphanage having no idea who he is, just the vaguest notion of a direction (maybe the Organas yelled at him to meet them in Alderan before he hit his head?).

He is absolutely a romantic though, loving stories about secret princes and adventures to whisk him away from his boring life

Finally he leaves the orphanage to make his own way in his life

Runs into Din, Cara, and Greef probably because he heard he could hire them to take him to Alderan (With what money? Idk, Luke did the same in New Hope so)

Greef was a minor official in the old empire, Cara is disillusioned with the revolution, and Din held a position in the palace, but he doesn’t bring it up a lot. He really doesn’t care about that kind of stuff

Greef and Cara are way better at the whole “con man” routine. Din runs with them because they sometimes need more dedicated muscle for their schemes (maybe Greef&Cara hire him out for a “bounty” thats actually the job if he’s that much not in with the conning)

But the four run into each other and Greef and Cara pull off convincing Luke for their con to get him where he wants to be

And there is much road trip to where Leia lives now, much teaching Luke of the royal family

Din and Luke do not get along at first

Din thinks this plan is going to fail, look at Luke, he looks nothing like Leia!

(Plus, he does feel a little bad about the masquerading because he was the one who helped the kids escape and he doesnt know what happened to them once he sent them on their way. He probably holds guilt in not going with them)

And Luke snarks because he’s trying to get to know the people who are trying to help him but the quiet guy will not give him an inch

But they slowly fall in love over the course of the trip even if they wont admit it

(Do i hear Din and Luke dancing together because Din has vague memories of standing off to the side for some dances? I think I do)

Arrive at Leia’s, who’s protocol droid informs them Leia’s heart has been broken one too many times and she won’t entertain anyone else, but they wheedle the droid for information on where they can intercept the senator.

Din and Luke manage to sneak their way in and Leia, deciding to entertain these two men gives Luke the standard questionnaire until asking the one question they didnt prepare for:

“How did we escape the palace?”

And Din panics because how could they have forgotten this question!

But Luke gives the right answer and Din’s jaw drops because that means Luke is the prince

But Leia, jaded and broken and lonely Leia, doesn’t believe him and sends them on their way. And Din is angry and tells her that he knows Luke is the prince, that he remembers being the 17 year old guard picking up two 7 year old twins in his arms and running. Leia takes that as just another reason why it was probably information fed to Luke

Later on, Luke and Leia do find each other, alone, and Luke does give her a piece of information that only the two of them could’ve known. I’m thinking Luke being reminded of days playing dress-up based on Leia’s own wardrobe

A party is had and the reward paid, but Din doesn’t accept his share of it

Luke is excited to be reunited with his sister and is ready to reconnect, but immediately the political party lifestyle is not for him

So they exchange ways of communication and Luke runs out to Din, much preferring the free life of adventure promised with him

And Din and Luke meet on the docks and it’s really cute, your honor

youre gonna find me to be much more empathetic to ukraine than most of commie bloggers here, and thats bc i believe ukrainian civillians should not be minced meat for foreign interests. russia is still the one who fired the first bullet and invaded, even if its understandable why. nato has been pushing agreed borders for years now, coming right to their gates, and ukraine had zero reason to suddenly declare they want to join it, especially when the entire nato rose on its feet in panic and said they dont even want them there. except the usa and biden who just had to pour oil on the fire. hes a warmonger who instigated agression the entire time, while both ukrainian and russian officials were trying to negotiate peace. he kept yelling in newspapers everyday calling for war while everyone wanted him to shut the fuck up.

its a proxy war between burgeoise classes, not in interest of ukrainian or russian proleteriat, and iirc ukrainian communists have put out the same statement, denouncing the capital interests of ukraine as a state. russian people also heavily suffered from this, with banks closing, artists not being able to pull money bc of sanctions, and the entire world villifying them.

unlike palestine which is under a genocide, ukraine-russian war is a war. civillians are dying, but for the interests of capital and not their right to exist.

I'm sorry for letting my train of thoughts out like a machinegun out of nowhere but these days, between two atrocious wars, people have really shown their brain worms on this platform. Specifically i see people full supporting ukraine and saying russia is terrorist but at the same time being blind of what israel is doing to palestinians, or the contrary people being shit to ukranians. Frankly i' m not here to discuss politics, has already been done countless times, i just want to say that really is it difficult to have basic human empathy for both ukraine and israel, acknowledging the fact that there is no lesser genocide than another, just two nations bathing in blood for their right to be alive and what they are? In conclusion i really hope better times can come, maybe it was me who had a really positive tumblr experience before, but these days i have the feelings it has become like a second twitter.

You were not having the best time, first being thrown back into time, to the year 2020. Then meeting your dad, Curtis. Not that meeting him wasn’t bad, it was just awkward to explain who you were and your dad was very confused for obvious reasons, you were adopted. He took everything pretty well, better then Diggle with Connor. Your dad did freakout on the whole you being a vigilante thing but it wasn’t super bad. Then you and Mia had to explain to her father that you two were dating, you remarked that you never thought you would have to get a shovel talk from her dad. Her mom had been pretty okay with it before she left. Your dad was also pretty okay with it too.

You and Connor trained and you worked on upgrading your gear while Mia bonded with her dad and brother in Russia. You were happy for her to have some time with her dad.

One minute, you’re on an island, helping Roy, letting Mia say her goodbyes. Then Lyla in a funky costume tells you to come with her. Then you are on another Earth with Mia and her dad and a whole bunch of other superheroes that you had only heard of in stories. Not only that but a huge tower came out of nowhere.

You get told that you are staying here and helping defend the tower against an army, to help people get off this earth. After readying your gear, and turning to heading out Mia grabs your arm.

“Stay safe, I’m already fated to lose one person today, I can’t lose you too.” She whispers, pressing her forehead to yours.

“You stay safe too, don’t take any risks okay.” You whisper back, gently threading your fingers through hers. For a moment you two stay there, a little bubble, a calm before a storm. You look her over, she has a new uniform huh. You two get called out of the moment by Oliver, you blush.

Reaching the tower, you see why you need to defend it. You thought when they said army they meant people not those shadow things. You threw yourself into battle, thinking of only of the lives you are helping to save, of making sure Mia stays alive. Mia always says that you were the more reckless of the two. Mia throws herself head first into situations but you step back and think, but you have a tendency not to care about your own life so you take a lot of risks.

So when the Monitor starts teleporting people off, and you see Mia has already been teleported, you decide you’re staying. There are still people needing to evacuate. You see Oliver also decides to do the same thing and disable the Monitor. Then Oliver sees you.

“You need to get out of here.” He yells over the shadowy things. They are swarming the two of you, but you manage to get closer to Oliver to fight side by side.

“You need to get out of here, Mia will need you.” Oliver repeats, then was thrown back by one of the beings, you take the thing out. You give him a look. Soon you find yourself getting knocked around alot and the last one sends you back, trapping your arm under some rubble. Struggling to get out and a shadow demon fast approaching, you see Oliver throw himself in front of you, he goes down hard. You quickly work yourself free and check to see if he is still breathing, he is. You drag him to where The Monitor is, ignoring the protests of your wrist.

Earth-1

Mia’s P.O.V.

Suddenly popped onto the earth and immediately starts to look for you and her dad, where were you two, why weren’t you here, The Monitor should have sent you here. Then after what felt like a lifetime, The Monitor appears with Oliver.

“Where’s (Y/N)!?” Mia shouts painicked, Oliver looked bad and you were with him during the fight, how badly were you hurt, were you dead?

“Mia?” A voice from The Monitor says.

Your P.O.V.

You appear into the view and you can see the relief in Mia’s shoulders, the unshed tears in her eyes. Then Oliver groans and all attention goes to him. Mia rushes over to him on the bed, you step back letting everyone else have their goodbyes and parting words. You already had some with him. When he dies, you are right there for Mia, you put a hand on her back and she throws herself into you sobbing.

“How could you do something so stupid.” She mutters into your shirt, her body shaking. She draws her head back and looks at you. “I could have lost you too.”

“I-I’m sorry” You sooth “I wasn’t thinking about you, I was focused on saving people and I wasn’t thinking.”

“I told you to stay safe and I’m the one you tell not to take risks.” Mia calms, she is still crying but she lays her head back on your shoulder and you two stand there wondering what will come next

Chapter 6

They huddled like lost orphans down the corridor. Spock stuck with Janice and Nyota who were in the same English class as him, around them the rest of the first years scurrying about. Whispers flying past their ears with the occasional yell.

“Is it this way?”

“I don’t think it’s near the libraries.”

“Isn’t it outside?”

It was upstairs, directly above the library. Upstairs was different, lighter fresher. Not only did it smell a lot less like farts, it smelt like fresh mint. Fresh mint grew in pots outside every door, down the hallway that seemed to go and on for miles, and it was at a particularly tall mint, the group turned and walked into the classroom.

They sat and waited for ages. Had Spock not been so tired he would’ve begun to worry he was in the wrong class. The bags beneath his eyes were drooping and he found himself wishing he had chosen to have caffeine for lunch. The teacher floated into the room, he was sitting on a wheel chair, designed to give him height. It almost looked like he was leaning against a desk.

“Good afternoon class I’m Mr Calbot. Nice to meet you all. Lets start with a good introduction, who here likes English? Raise your hand.” He raised his eyes, a friendly look, a few raised hands. Spock's own up.

“Oh, well who here likes stories, TV films, and games?” He asked. The rest of the class raise their hand except for three people. The teacher gives a firm look to the three.

“So lets try this again, who likes language?” All but three raise their hand.

“I’m glad to hear it! You, what’s your name?” He asks pointing to the first boy who hadn’t raised his hand.

“Gary.”

“Gary what do you do in your spare time?”

“PSP” Gary said, the teacher sighed.

“Are you a little shy?”

“No” Gary said annoyed “I just don’t like english.”

“What language do you like?”

“I don’t like english.”

“What language do you prefer? Do you speak more than one?”

“No.”

“Okay. What about you? Are you shy?” The teacher asked pointing to another boy. The boy nodded, he had black hair covering his face and badly painted nails.

“Thats okay. What about you, are you shy?” He asked pointing to the last girl.

“No, I’m Jackie and I think English lessons are pointless.” She announced, like she was prepared to fight for her freedom, like what she said was a mighty speech and not her own foolery.

“Jackie what do you do in your free time?” Mr Calbot asks with a friendly shake of his head to invite conversation.

“I watch youtube videos and music.” She said.

The teacher sighed “well it’s to be expected. Our administration often makes mistakes and I try to find them as soon as possible. Joe, Jackie, I think the administration has made a mistake on your time table. Come on, down here.” He said scribbling on to a piece of paper. Joe and Jackie looked at him, fear on their faces.

“Are we being expelled?” Joe asked.

“No, I’m teaching a class who will get A grades, and A stars. You’re aiming for C’s aren’t you?” The boys nodded and the teacher shrugged, “wrong class.” As the boys left the teacher turned back to them.

“On each of your desks is a copy of this poem - with basic annotations. Before we can annotate we must read. Would anyone like to read for the class? There’s a house point in it for you.” Spock did not put up his hand.

He could smell it before he had even entered the room. A smell so divine - so heavenly that his eyes watered, and his mouth salivated. Deep down the fear of eating 3 school meals a day vanished with the changing of the tides and as he gazed upon the dinner options, he felt at peace. Tucked away beneath a glass screen, within hands reach sat 5 bulky meals. Vegan fresh green pea and lemon pesto pasta, vegetarian egg fried rice with vegetable stir-fry, kosher butternut squash soup, omnivores bolognese and another diet specialised meal.

Spock was vegetarian, he didn’t mind the occasional cheese or egg so it was a tough choice but the pasta won, the white rimmed bowl finding its way to his hands, to rest upon the white tray. His legs took him past the refrigerated section and he found a fancy glass bottle of cola, from a brand he’d never seen before. The pudding choices were small but just as delightful. Fruit salad with vegan ice cream? Or chocolate cake? He was won over by the ice-cream and took the fruit salad of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and kiwi.

The cafeteria was still buzzing with people but it was less chaotic than that morning, without the teachers, the stage, luggage or the air of chaos, the room seemed comfortably big. His dorm had chosen to sit together, there was space for him and it seemed like a good place to sit, despite the nerves he felt, he sat down with Nyota by his side, Hikaru and Janice across from him, and Pavel at the end of the table closest to him. Charlie and Christine were at the opposite end of table, too hard to see and talk to from Spock’s position.

“Are you vegan?” Hikaru asked excitedly noticing their twin meals.

“No” Spock said “but I am vegetarian.”

“I went vegan last year, I think that’s why my parents sent me here, they don’t want to cook for me.” He gave a grin showing a missing tooth between his front and canines. Spock tried the first bite of his meal.

“Oh no, how awful…” Spock said, because he didn’t know what else to say “but at least they’ve got really nice vegan meals here.”

“I’d say, all I eat at home is peanut butter and rice. I’m going to have to call back home later and pretend to be pissed and hope my parents don’t offer to bring me home.” Hikaru said. He had a point. This meal was pretty good even by his peculiar taste buds. He wasn’t planning on sticking around the school because was fairly certain most people hadn’t picked up on the fact that he was obviously not human. Thanks to the hat that he had managed to keep stuck on his head. He himself had stopped and stared at several humans already upon seeing their eyebrows, plucked clean, or into straight circles or ovals. Pretty embarrassing for him to do, but it only took a second for him to decide if they were human. Humans went on the obvious tell tale signs such as the sight of ears or eyebrows to tell species apart, and his ears were covered. His eyebrows only partially, yet he wasn’t sure that they were the giveaway he had initially assume they were. Or maybe the humans here just thought he was a cool vulcan because he was wearing a big ass sparkly hat.

“Did you guys know spaghetti was invented in Russia?” Pavel asked messily slurping spaghetti that splattered across his own face. Spock frowned.

“Was it?”

“Yes.”

“That shits from italy ain’t it?” Hikaru asked.

“No.”

This is the planned trip for William and Catherine to visit Pakistan.Very few details have been released, the security issue is massive. The British foreign office is still recommending that its citizens avoid travel to that part of the world.
