Get to know Claw :)

Hi, I'm claw the owner of this account and yes I use the namesake of my oc online! My oc mainly featured on here is of course, Claw itself! It's reference will be below, along with it's colour palette separately as well. Also yes, I know there is a typo in the reference, but I'll fix it in the written text for easier reading. Along with an extra word or detail written as well. Information : Claw Immortal Height: Ink Demons shoulders Forever 28 A lynx with wings (fallen angel) Broken wing always on left, along with the knick in her ear Bow on sailors hat shows on any angle. Yumeship (oc x canon) Shipped with Sammy Lawrence I am selective with sharing :)

Other than claw I feature other oc's, they do not have references yet. Once they do I will be updating my pinned once more. Most if not all my batim content is featured strictly in an au setting. I do not like to put my oc's into proper canon. I like to mix things from noncanon into canon for the story to not only flow better, but make sense with my characters in there.

One thing for starters, is in my au Wally Franks is the only butcher gang member to be 'perfect'. In this sense, he is Edgar. Again colours will be separated from the watermarked reference as well, along with the words on the reference written in the post. Gender Journal Day #155

Date 1/24/25

This is a personal journal about my gender journey my therapist recommended I make. Mostly about gender stuff but also anything else. Feel free to keep reading but keep in mind it’s going to be my unfiltered, personal thoughts.

Recent politics has me bummed out. I feel like I got locked out of getting to experiment with my gender publicly just as I was starting to get comfortable enough to actually do it beyond the bounds of my bedroom. The orange fucker hasn’t even been in office a week and concentration camps are already on the horizon for immigrants. Since trans people were also a major scapegoat I’m just so afraid that we’re going to be next.

My therapist reassures me that things have been hard for trans people before and we’ll get through this. I’m sure he’s right but it feels like this is different. Trans people are being targeted by name by some of the most powerful men in the world who are hyping up their followers to do violence against us. How am I supposed to experience trans joy if every second is underpinned by a constant fear and anxiety? I don’t even get to have the good parts of being trans. My friends try to reassure me of the same things but it feels hollow. One already had his top surgery, a major step. Another likely has the means to escape easily with little effort and remain comfortable.

I think this comes from me growing up as an upper middle class white boy in the suburbs of America. I literally was the majority the system was catered to, and I’m thankful I didn’t slide down an alt right pipeline. So as I was becoming aware of politics in high school and middle school it was mostly through the lens of trying to use my privilege to help others who were minorities. More importantly trying to signal that I wasn’t a threat or even an ally, instead of them assuming I appeared white and affluent so I might be dangerous. And this stayed the same as I discovered I was bisexual because that’s mostly an invisible struggle that’s easy to hide from bigots.

Point is, I’m not used to feeling like the target of discrimination or its violence. I’m not used to the fear. I think that’s amplifying it a lot. This is a new experience.

It hurts especially bad because I feel like being trans is an answer to so many issues in my life. It feels like it’s a gateway to happiness and finally being alive. And now it feels like it’s been locked behind an insurmountable barrier.

I’m not even sure of my gender yet. It probably would be different if I was. If I knew exactly what I wanted. I won’t get any experimentation, any phases, any off days, any bad outfits, any gender bendy weirdness, any awkward transitional phase where I’m politely ignored because of social graces. I can’t have any trial and error.

Either I have a seamless overnight transformation, or I open myself up to being listed as a criminal just for existing?

I don’t want to have to explain to my kids that I can’t go to their school events because I used a public toilet once in 2027 and now I’m a registered sex offender and I don’t have the money or time to get that turned over.

I always knew transition would be hard, but now it feels impossible. I always knew I’d be opening myself up to danger but now it feels like I’ll have a constant target on my head. I know I need to contribute to the fight for our rights but I don’t want to be so preoccupied with fighting for the right to live that I don’t have a chance to live. I’ve spent so long feeling like I was barely alive. Now I have a path towards no longer feeling that way. But I won’t actually get to enjoy it because I’d need to spend all my time arguing that it’s ok I take that path. And what time I don’t spend on that will be spent worrying for my own safety.

It’s so hard trying to feel happy already. School and my home life are already so stressful. And I want to feel happy experiencing life with my friends but it always feels like I’m experiencing it from behind a screen door. I want to get good at feeling alive already but is that worth my actual life?

I’m almost 25. Am I gonna have to wait until I’m 30 to finally start feeling like myself? To start figuring out who I am? Do I have to sacrifice what little of my youth I have left to responsibility and sadness and fear?

I know they’re trying to scare us but I don’t know how to not be afraid. I’m afraid and angry and alone and I don’t know what to do.

it might be difficult to see the words “Nuka-Cola” on the bottle in between the Fredbear Doll & The Deltarune Symbol, so it might be best to click on the drawing to make it bigger, it will also let you see the Meteor Fragment from The Super Mario Bros 1993 Movie, more better I think....I tried my best to draw that fragment, and I hope I did okay on it.

I wanted to try different looks for Spinel, in the Spinelluva Boss AU...

this would be her third form, she of course had poofed and her conciseness manifestation of light had retreated back into her gem.

in all four concepts of her mature new form, she pretty much looks a little the same, but she is given a more air of maturity.

in this form, she is slightly taller than her two previous forms, but still keeping some of the looks of her second form.

I could think over if the 1# look, could be her first new mature form, and after poofing about three times, before reaching her fourth form where she goes back to having two ponytails, but them being much longer than her previous ones, and her having spiked wristbands and a collar/choker...

the rest of her outfit would still be the same, only some parts of it would be in a different color from the other three.

in the 4# form, it has her wearing lipstick...

in all three different concepts of her new fanon form for Spinelluva Boss AU...

she is possibly around Blitzo’s height, but in theory in her previous second form, she may have been around Millie & Moxxie’s height.

and if she was in her first form, she would probably be up to both Millie & Moxxie’s shoulders, possibly have been a bit shorter than them in her first form

but in her second form she would possibly be the same height as them.

but in her third form, she is taller than them now...

in Spinelluva Boss Au, Spinel never met with White, Yellow and Blue on Earth, and end up going with them to Homeworld and becoming new friends & family.

she instead ends up going to Hell, but of course she is very much alive when she did so, and wasn’t shattered...

and yes this is a spoiler from what I had wrote, but she was taken there by I.M.P. but their originally plan was to take out someone who was suppose to be at Beach City, but because of the situation that had to do with Spinel, they had to try again on a later day...and the target happen to be Greg’s Ex-Manager “Marty”....

and while Spinel ends up being saved by the I.M.P and brought to their work place, she ends up becoming a part of I.M.P.

even though she has a different look in this drawing, she is still a Jester...

but she’s a “Freelance Jester”, and if you think about it, she would be like the “Harley Quinn” To Fizzarolli’s or Robo-Fizz’s “Joker”....

picture her reaching in her gem and pulling out a Hammer and twirling it in her hand before getting ready to wack Robo-Fizz or Ozzie’s Fizzy.

and like any gem, she can shape-shift, and not just stretch.

so if she wanted to, she could probably make herself look like Ozzie, Alastor, Angel Dust, Blitzo, Robo-Fizz and possibly anyone else she had met or heard about by watching on TV or from a newspaper.

in theory, when shape-shifting a gem could change the color of their palette to match who they are taking the form of, but their gem would stay the same both in color and on the place it is on their body.

so if Spinel could shape-shift into a perfect copy of whoever she chooses,

what would be different about the forms she takes, even if she matches them almost perfectly, they would end up having her gem on their chest, or rather it would still be her, so it would still be her...

it be funny if she shape-shift in the form of Charlie’s Dad, and did what Amethyst did when she shape-shift to look like Pearl...

like picture Spinel who looks like Lucifer Morningstar, and ends up slapping “his” own butt while making the same sound that Amethyst did when impersonating Pearl.

and picture Charile, Vaggie and Lilith watching and trying to hold in their laughter from what Spinel is doing in the disguise Lucifer form.

anyway, when I can I will have this drawing be part of a Cover for a Chapter...

to show her four possible new forms.

the fan fic of the Spinelluva Boss AU, which is a Crossover AU...

Their hair is usually down and it's straight but they try to make it a little wavy, but sometimes they might tie it in a side bun with a few strands let down on the sides of their head. They have pale-ish skin, hazel eyes, and a pretty small tattoo on their left hand (off to the side next to their thumb) of a simple lightening bolt, which is a reference to a movie. They always wear glasses and earrings and they tend to wear fashionable outfits with a lot of accessories and jewelry that fit either a gothic style, a cottagecore style, a pink cutesy style, and sometimes other styles like more masculine outfits or casual outfits, but they prefer dressing more formal or fashionable

Bendy: Unlike both Alice and Allison; Amber has a glowing halo floating above their head, inky black wings, and an imp tail to match their little horns. Their hair is the same as their human self but it's black instead of dark brown and they put it up in a bun more often. They switched out their dress for a slightly different black dress to add more differences between the three of them

Hazbin Hotel: They're a vampire bat demon with the same body type as their human form. They have bat wings on their back, bat ears on top of their head, same hair as their human self except it's black instead of dark brown (still dyed red), fangs, claws, short gray fur, and glowing gold eyes. They started wearing just gothic outfits instead of the other styles they used to. They were cursed to wear roller skates because of their death and the boots itself are made with black leather and have a silver chain with a skull charm on it

Super Mario: Looks close to human!Amber except with glittery fairy wings on their back which glows a faint purple. They tend to dress two different styles; gothic and cottagecore, either feminine or masculine

The Great Mouse Detective: Same body type as human!Amber except they're an anthropomorphic mouse with sand-colored fur. They're still gothic but they tend to wear more fancy outfits like suits, although they still wear dresses

Undertale, monster: I have a few ideas but one of them is a candy monster whose body is made entirely of pink hard candy (red for Underfell which tastes like cherries). Same body type as human!Amber and same clothing style, just their body is a hard candy like lollipops and tastes like strawberries

Deltarune, darkner: In the process of reworking

Basic Info:

Beetlejuice: Amber Deetz is Lydia's older sister who's older by 9 years. Amber is the one Beetlejuice tries to marry and he almost got away with it before Barbara stops him. Along with the deal to marry him, Amber adds another condition; for Beetlejuice to turn them into a vampire, which he does before he gets eaten by a Sandworm. A few weeks pass and Beetlejuice meets up with Amber again and they, intrigued by this weird ghost, decides to let him stick around. Their relationship goes from friends, to friends with benefits, to eventually lovers

BatDR: Amber knew Sammy and Susie during their time working at the studio as a script writer for the episodes, who mostly was assigned to write for Alice which is why in the cycle their appearance reflects Alice in a way, although they don't look entirely like her unlike Allison and Susie

FNaF: The human s/i is usually human and works for Fazbear Entertainment as a technician for the animatronics. The animatronics prefer them and they usually get all the jobs involving interacting with the animatronics. For the Roger Stanford Springtrap, they didn't work for Fazbear and instead found Springtrap somewhere and took him in

Grounded: Usually works with Wendell; I might write them to be married to him with or without Trudy depending on the oneshot or headcanon

Hazbin Hotel: They were cursed to wear roller skates because of their death; which was death by a roller coaster. They lost their head as well, which resulted in their head being detachable in Hell. Their roller skates are stuck on and can only be taken off during certain circumstances and they can't wear any other shoes, much to their disappointment. They use a cane to help when they wear the skates, which is black wood with a silver skull at the end of it. The cane also works like a staff too and can be summoned at will. They're also a vampire and has a diet like one. Their full demon form is a much bigger bat who foams at the mouth

Portal 2: Amber took Chell's place and at the end decided to save Wheatley and take the cores with them when they left

RSatSD: Multiple ideas. Sometimes they might be a princess or sometimes they might be common folk or something supernatural

Super Mario: Not many ideas yet but Amber’s friends with Peach and their kingdoms are close to each other

The Great Mouse Detective: Amber is a mafia boss to a gang called The Colony of Freaks. They have a rivaling gang called The Gilded Age and I don't really have any of the characters in either gang made or fleshed out, but I have a very vague idea for a few of them. Basil and Amber have an enemies to lovers dynamic and he has been trying to arrest them for months now. It's sort of a one-sided rivalry for a while, as Amber has always been interested in Basil and flirts with him constantly while Basil thought he hated them at first because they're a mafia boss and he's actively trying to arrest them (and they somehow keep escaping his grasp), but after spending enough time with them, he realizes he actually likes them as a person and the flirty rivalry they have is thrilling

Undertale: For my human s/i I could either write them to be in Frisk's place (or with Frisk as an older sibling) or they could be accepting to monsters when they return to the surface if they don't go Underground. For my monster s/i, their appearance might change on a lot of things but they probably live in Snowdin and are neighbors with Sans and Papyrus. If I go with my purple cat s/i, they might be Catty's sibling, which also goes for Deltarune too

Deltarune: In the process of reworking

Ocs: Amber might be a human, selkie, vampire, mermaid, witch, or whatever else depending on how I'm feeling, but if it's a Klaus oneshot then they might either be a selkie, mermaid, or vampire

Ma'lanna (Skyrim):

Appearance:

Same body type as human!Amber. They're a Khajiit who's covered in purple fur with hints of black and white along with slightly different shades of purple, their fur pattern being that of a tabby cat. They're either a Dagi-raht Khajiit or a Cathay Khajiit. They have longish black hair they keep down, glowing yellow eyes, gold hoop earrings in their ears, and they tend to wear black leather armor

Basic Info:

I'm in the process of changing their backstory, but;

They weren't born with purple fur; it was originally black before they used a spell and accidentally turned their fur purple and they kept it ever since

They use magic a lot but tends to use a sword during battle that they made themselves, or a bow if they're far away

Jill Cipher (Gravity Falls):

Appearance:

Demon form: Jill has royal purple skin, a glowing light purple left eye and a black triangular eyepatch covering the right. Their hair is black instead of dark brown with a dark yet vibrant red on their tips on the right and purple on the left. They have fangs, silver freckles, claws with a black gradient on their arms and legs with a glowing brick pattern on their arms in the colors cyan, hot pink, and sea foam green. They wear a monocle, a small floating top hat, and a fancy outfit with a white button-up shirt and black ribbon tie, a black and white galaxy skirt, a purple vest with a brick pattern on it, and a black trench coat with a few tints of purple on it

Human form: Pretty much human!Amber except they still wear their eyepatch, their freckles are a normal color instead of silver, has subtle fangs and purple eyes- well, eye, and they have the same hair as their demon form. Dresses the same as human!Amber

Triangle form: A purple triangle with a ribbon bow tie, a monocle, and a shorter top hat than Bill's

I drew these using a base I found on Pinterest and using a screenshot of Bill for my triangle form (I'd link the base but I can’t find it but it was a free to use) (also the hair is shorter than it is now)

Basic Info:

Bill Cipher's twin sibling who's older by 5 minutes and used to be close with him in their childhood but drifted apart ever since the destruction of their dimension. Bill keeps in touch and often annoys them and they just deal with it and annoy him back, although they rarely, if never, reach out first due to them not liking how toxic Bill turned out. They don't have the heart to cut him out completely

Jill's blush in their demon form is silver because of their blood looking like glitchy mercury

Love (Inside Out):

Appearance:

Same body type as human!Amber. Love has reddish pink skin which glows like the other emotions and they have longish hair, all of it a dark yet vibrant red instead of half being dark brown, and it's tied in a side bun with a few strands let down on the sides of their head. They have red eyes and they wear a red dress with a white button-up shirt underneath and black sheer stockings with a garter belt and black Mary Janes

Basic Info:

Instead of taking place in Riley's headquarters, I'll write any of my Inside Out oneshots/headcanons with my s/i in my own headquarters. So the emotions are in Amber’s head instead of Riley's

Love, as you can tell, is the emotion which has everything to do with "love", however they love focusing on romance and Amber’s relationships and crushes but they also deal with platonic and familial love too

Cherry (TADC):

Appearance:

Same body type as human!Amber. Cherry is an anthropomorphic cat plushie and has red fur, pink eyes in the shape as hearts, and they wear glasses. They have longish hair in the same shade as their fur tied in a side bun with a few strands let down on the sides of their head. They wear a pink frilly dress with a white button-up shirt underneath

Basic Info:

Their human form in the real world is Amber, although they don't really remember it that well along with their real name. At least, not yet

Normally I put stuff in the tags, but I'm adding onto this post with a specific part of this spectrum. I'm on the pickier side, I only get merch that really speaks to me, but sometimes I'm also a "only one of each character" collector.

Take for instance my Bendy plushies. I have one of each cartoon character and that's it. There are some I'm missing, like Tom and BATDR Bendy, and sometimes I have a variant that isn't my favorite (I have the Sillyvision Sammy Lawrence instead of his original black and yellow one, because it just did not come out where I lived). But out of say, the three Boris plushies that exist? I have the first one, but not the Heavenly Toys or Blacklight variant. I don't need more than one Boris, my one Boris is fine. I like the blacklight plushies, but I don't need them, they don't add something super special that would warrant their space in my collection. If I can, I'll get my favorite and go from there. That said, if YouTooz released a new Sammy Lawrence plush, depending on the design, I might have to break my rule (unless Twisted Alice is there, I'm sorry Sam but she's heavy competition given I can't hold her in plush form yet). Actually, my rule is already broken, I have two Bendys, one legit and one bootleg since it was a gift from a friend. I treasure both a lot, Bootleg Bendy kept me company in college and has always been so nice to cuddle, but sometimes I wonder if I've given them both enough love, which sounds silly but it makes sense to me. Like I'm very much a kid who grew up on Toy Story, toys are meant to be played with and loved, not just sit out in display. I use my plushies, they're my travel buddies and there to sleep with.

But then, on the other side of my collecting with Monster High dolls, gosh do I have a lot of repeats. Frankie Stein in G1 and G3 is not my favorite character (I like them but there are others I love more), but for whatever reason both of them have dolls that really speak to me. So I have Sweet Screams, Freak Du Chic, G3 Coffee Break, and a basic G3 Frankie that I'd like to repaint to be the same character, 'cause that's a fun exercise. And there's also the Threaderella doll that I want to restore someday. Rochelle, same deal, she's high on my list, but not my number one favorite, but here she is with her Zombie Shake and Freak Du Chic dolls in my collection.

On the topic of dolls, I don't feel obligated to complete a line. Again with Freak Du Chic, I have Frankie, Rochelle, Honey Swamp, and Gooliope, but I'm lacking Clawdeen, Twyla, Jinafire, and Toralei (we're not even gonna talk about the recent collector Draculaura, that was never happening with that pricetag). I'd like to find Jinafire and Toralei, just on the merit of they're actually in the episode the line is based on and I like their looks, but I don't need the others to be happy. I've actually toyed with the idea of repainting a G3 Toralei to look like that since she has the long hair already, same with a G1 Twyla since, funnily enough, I have her outfit and stilts from a doll lot and didn't know it at the time.

And I guess, that's part of my deal, I'm a doll customizer as well as a collector, so if I want something specific, I just need a base doll and then I can make whatever I want. Like going back to Bendy, I never bothered with the original figures after Twisted Alice because they weren't to my taste. Instead I make those characters as dolls so I can pose and photograph them. Chapter 62.

The friends spent the first weeks of summer on a gorgeous island rich in a variety of plants and animals: The Blue Lagoon didn't leave anyone indifferent, bringing pleasant memories and incredible adventures. The guys were building sand castles, searching for treasures and finding peculiar artifacts; everyone searched for marvelous, enchanting activities for themselves : Boris was reading new issues of the newspapers "The World of Black and White Creatures Today"; Bendy was experimenting with new flavors for refreshing cocktails, he also was making mermaid tails for Lara on the beach; Lara was doing sketches of light dresses and other outfits; Alice was weaving bracelets from bright scraps. The vacation turned out to be unforgettable for everyone, and the delightful moments were captured not only in photographs, but also remained in memory forever. It was time to return - friends packed up and went home.

Comfort and peace reigned in the family rooms, there wasn't so much dust comparing to the time when the guys spent their days in the studio. The flowers, watered by other Ink Creatures during the departure of the others, grew by a couple of centimeters and opened their magnificent buds completely, swaying from the light wind outside the window, receiving warm sunlight, muffled by clouds floating across the sky. After sorting out the bags, everyone went to the kitchen, Bendy cooked breakfast - pancakes with diverse filling - cottage cheese, meat, cherry, and for dessert - chocolate, strawberry and caramel donuts - the chef loved the variety of cooked dishes, he gave the opportunity to taste the delicacies and choose the kind each one of friends would like. He brewed black tea with violets, lemon and mint, put white cups and saucers with gold edging and sat down at the table. After a long and memorable conversation, mostly about their impressions of the Blue Lagoon Island and wishes for further travel, pals headed to their rooms. Bendy and Lara were discussing plans about their leisure time, sitting behind black swivel chairs with a blue back and seat. They didn't feel tired of adventures and were ready to start a new exciting route on the same day.

"Lau, I found places in the City of Black and White creatures which we haven't visited yet: for example, the Mineralogical Museum, the Building of the History of the Development of Transport Communications, the Greenhouse of the rarest plant species, the Planetarium and the Library of Ancient Manuscripts... I suggest we go look at the beckoning sights..."

"I'll go with pleasure... I got a little bored at home..."

"So, our way lies through Porcelain and Sapphire Streets, then we need to turn the corner and go along Crocus Avenue, stop near Marble Square, turn right and head to Keylock Lane... When we get home, we'll definitely figure out how to bring rapture and glee to the coming evening - I guarantee I'll find a way to entertain you, sunshine..."

The asphalt was covered with shadows from well-groomed trees, from tall structures; it was cool - the wind was passing through massive structures, diluting the colors of the heat with bluish freshness and filling the air with an extraordinary meaning that could free thoughts and mind. The turquoise Alley, which Bendy and Lara soon reached, was shining from the rays penetrating it: lanterns, benches, flower beds, street stalls and animal figurines made of gold presented on them were shimmering with lilac and yellow highlights and seemed to twinkle magically. Sweethearts walked slowly along the stone paths leading to the cherished place and enjoyed a relaxed, calm walk. When they reached the Mineralogical Museum, they entered a dark purple building, beaming with a burgundy hue from the light, made of durable marble, decorated with columns at the entrance. After passing the granite steps, the young man opened a heavy brown door with a bronze handle, let the girl through and went in himself. Inside, behind the glass, on the shelves were metals, semi-precious and gem stones, jewelry made of them. Medallions of emeralds; diamond rings; earrings of tanzanite; wild amethysts that formed elongated clusters and resembled corrals from afar; collections of rare types of sapphires, rubies, ametrines; the most valuable cymophanes and alexandrites made the greatest impression on travelers as well as the rest gems they've seen. The devils were wandering around the exhibits, stopped near the most interesting and unusual ones, recalled the information they knew about some of them, read facts about stones placed on the walls and observed carved patterns and moldings on the ceiling and walls, the floor painted with ornaments, hanging huge chandeliers with pseudo-lights. The aura of the building felt calming, time seemed to slow down in the room. From the abundance of minerals and articles about them, the imps wanted to stay in the museum all day and study the peculiarities of each.

Bendy glanced at his wristwatch - the only visitors realized it was time to move on, to a new exciting, full of charm place.

The building of the History of the Development of Transport Communications turned out to be extraordinary from the outside - it was built in the shape of an ellipse: a metal spiral ran along the roof, giving it a cosmic magical look and highlighting it against the background of other structures. Inside, the devils, after reading the information on the stand near the first hall with expositions, found out the museum really was the newest in the district - some of its premises were still replenishing with collections of exhibits to that day.

At the beginning, the oldest models of vehicles were located: balloons, airships, coal-fired trains, the first invented cars. However, at the end of the hall there was a life-size train : on the column next to it, the wizards saw it was real and had traveled many routes in its time.

In the second room there were already mini-replicas of modern cars, motorcycles and airplanes. Detailed descriptions of the development and assembly of each vehicle were extremely amusing to the young man and the girl; Bendy even thought one day he would be able to build something similar, for example, a car, if he first gained enough knowledge, of course.

In the third hall there were exhibits of the latest means of transportation: flying skateboards and roller skates, rockets capable of landing and taking off again, super-high-speed space ships of enormous size and galactic liners which could accommodate entire small cities or forests in size.

Other halls mainly concerned the developers and creators of each vehicle in the City of Black and White creatures: their biography, achievements and awards. And the devils were lucky enough to meet with one of them personally: he was in charge of delivering exhibits to the museum and even shared with visitors a story about a new exhibition which would be held next week, the hall was to be replenished with new exhibits by that time. The guests came out impressed: Bendy and Lara discussed the most astonishing and splendid means of transportation. The demon opened the glass door, letting the girl through, then left the museum by himself, on a noisy sunny street.

The next place was the Greenhouse of the rarest plant species: the roof, made in the shape of a dome and painted with a floral blue ornament, certainly immediately attracted the attention of the couple. Massive white columns, arches decorated with stucco, windows with smoothed corners at the top and marble steps caught the eye and seemed inviting. Bendy and Lara noticed the inscription "Greenhouse" at the entrance and decided to view its outlandish plants.

The most extraordinary fascinating representatives of flora were gathered in the building and felt great in the conditions created for them. Purple lotuses bloomed in a crystal-clear pond, emitting a yellowish color, which flew near the visitors and not only gave a pleasant aroma, but also seemed to charge with positive light energy. Nearby, red orchids grew on milkweed branches: their flowers were larger than a clenched fist and were darker in the middle than at the tips of the petals. In the middle of the botanical garden there were some of the rarest plants - white Edelweiss flowers, which were a symbol of loyalty and love, growing in the wildlife only on the tops of mountains: visitors of the museum had a unique chance to see a wondrous "star". Near the Edelweiss, in a fenced flower bed, there were Middlemists which were practically impossible to find in nature: scarlet roses had a sweet intoxicating smell and attracted by their appearance; visitors stopped near them, looking at them for a long time and photographing charming large wonderful buds. The imps were no less impressed by the tall yellow tulips, with patterns resembling stars, waves and zigzags on them as if painted by someone. In the Greenhouse, the devils saw other flowers of magical beauty: for example, Night-blooming cereus, Hawaiian Hibiscus, Jade Vine, Kadupul, Flaming Lily, as well as incredible delightful trees, such as: Kaikomako of the Three Kings, Wollemi Pine, Dendroceris Nerifolia, Dodo, Tahina. It was noteworthy the botanical garden had several rooms: the building seemed smaller from the outside than inside. In each of the round rooms with glass walls and a ceiling letting in the sun's rays, were made according to the trees and flowers preferences for temperature, humidity, light and the most favorable factors for them were implemented.

Traveling through the world of plants inspired Bendy and Lara to create a new line of clothing with a floral print, prompted them to think about planting some of the types of flowers they saw.

It was time to go: of course, sweethearts would easily have stayed in the Greenhouse for the rest of the day, but they were longing for the sights they had planned to visit.

The Planetarium turned out to be next on the list - the building in the form of a UFO was smaller than the demons imagined, it was quite dark inside - it became possible to see only the ceiling decorated with a pattern of stars, silver doors illuminated from above. The magicians were allowed to look at cosmic bodies through a telescope for only five minutes: however, it magnified objects not much larger than the device that Bendy had assembled. A slight disappointment touched the shoulders of the visitors, and yet, they were no use in being upset and, after looking at interesting facts about stars, planets, comets, asteroids, Galaxies and Universes, the devils went to the door of the last room, hoping to see a map of their Solar System or satellite images. However, the room was being restored, and no one was allowed in. The stay in the museum didn't last long and didn't become so exciting, but Bendy and Lara weren't in despair and left the Planetarium, wandering on.

The exciting adventure was completed by the Library of Ancient Manuscripts: beige in colour, significant statues of young men and girls with wreaths of flowers and leaves, in light flowing robes, each holding an open book in their hands; some had a pen in their hand; others had small birds resembling nightingales on their shoulders; an open palm of others had medallions in the shape of a clover. Images of heroes from myths and legends decorated the front entrance and the stained glass door, to which the travelers approached, climbing the high steps of syenite and labradorite. Pulling on the round silver handle, Bendy opened the door and followed Lara in.

Inside, attention was attracted by the glazed domed ceiling and brown high shelves, whose number seemed countless, there were stairs near all of them. The library consisted of two tiers, on each of which there were dark rectangular small tables, at which consultants were sitting, advising useful books to curious readers and answering important questions. Bendy and Lara decided to choose magnificent stories for themselves a little later and approached a working employee in order to find out where the oldest manuscripts were. A young man in a strict suit, but with a slightly disheveled hairstyle explained how to get to the cherished place, showed them the way. The devils went to the end of the hall, turned the corner to the right and went down a spiral staircase several floors down. In the tiny basement they found a wooden door made of solid oak and entered a darkish room. The room was small, dimly lit, but it wasn't difficult to see the thousand-year-old books - they were under glass on the podium: some in open form, others were closed. The battered, yellowed pages and handwritten letters struck with their rarity and long, centuries-old history. Fortunately for sweethearts, there was employee in the room, filling out forms on behalf of the management; apparently, the rest of the visitors didn't even know about the existence of a small room with single copies of chronicles with drawings of the ancestors of the inhabitants of the City of Black and White creatures. Bendy and Lara came to the conclusion: employees would need to put an identification plate on the ground floor to inform visitors about the tiny basement in which objects of cultural and spiritual heritage have found a place.

Having gone upstairs, the devils searched on the shelves for books they hadn't yet read, since the names on the spines of many of them were well known to the young man and the girl and were in their mini-library at home.

Finally, the couple found books with collections of short stories and have started reading at a beige table which occupied almost the entire first floor, although, soon the demons decided to finish at home. Bendy and Lara got reader cards, and a librarian in a black jacket and skirt, in a white, immaculately pressed blouse, with a bun on her head registered the magicians in the Library's file and wrote down their first books which they took with them, as well as the date of the return of the stories.

The couple went out into the street of the incessant restless city under the impression: the devils didn't believe they really managed to visit the planned places in one day. So, it wasn't for nothing that they woke up early and quickly got ready to go. The young man and the girl were looking for a place suitable for rest with their eyes and at that time they were discussing the brightest and most impressive moments of their adventure.

"In the Mineralogical Museum I saw even more varieties of stones than in the magazine 'Amazing Gems'!... And I learned countless facts, saw the precious stones with my own eyes, it's much more delightful to look at jewelry live; I left the building with admiration..."

"So did I... I had no idea I'd see such a collection of rare stones in one place..."

"Painites, giddenites, serendibites, poudretteites and grandidireites were so close to our eyes... And most importantly, we watched them live, even if they were behind glass..."

"And I liked the finished products made of precious stones..."

"Oh, yes, I can imagine you with spinel earrings, an opal pendant and a tanzanite ring... However, I'll bring you new jewelry, when I find them in jewelry stores..."

"There's no need for that... But thank you..."

"If you want them, you get them, sweetie... To begin with, I'll find out exactly where you can get products with some of the most fascinating gems, but a little later... I also remember the first invented train in the City of Black-and-White Creatures in the Building of the History of the Development of Transport Communications - it had only a few wagons - probably, it impressed me with its smallness and compactness... Of the modern means of transportation, I'd prefer a jet-powered black car, we saw its layout today - it moves both on the ground and in the air, very convenient; that's just, first I have to get a driving license..."

"By all means, I have no doubt, you'll pass... Of the old modes of transport, I'd like to take a ride on an airship... And from the new ones - to ride flying roller skates..."

"And on a flying skateboard would be great... I'm sure there are special shops reserved for the latest vehicles... By the way, in the Greenhouse of the rarest plant species, which flowers did you like the most?... I was impressed by Middlemists, Edelweiss, and Flaming Lilies..."

"I remember the Middlemists well... And also a Night blooming cereus and a Jade vine... We should plant some of the flowers we observed in the Greenhouse in our garden..."

"We'll certainly find place for their bulbs, seeds in our flower beds... In the shop "Everything for successful gardening" there are flowers for almost every taste, I suppose... Let's go in and see for ourselves; would you like to, Lau?..."

"I don't know yet, we were going to relax in a quiet place..."

"Right, soon we'll reach Harmony Park... And we'll go to the store another day, because we're not in a hurry... By the way, the Planetarium disappointed me a little: there were only a few rooms with a description of the planets of our Solar System and the nearest Galaxies, but not a single layout for clarity - just a couple of pictures..."

"Yes, and the telescope wasn't so powerful, I saw almost the same thing in ours..."

"Probably, this device was left specially for visitors, and the one for observations was removed... It's a pity we haven't discovered new celestial bodies for ourselves, but we have learned interesting facts about our universe..."

"An undeniable plus..."

"I totally agree, sweetie... Anyway, we didn't come in for nothing... Moreover, in the Library of the Most Ancient Manuscripts it turned out to be really informative - we tried to read the writings of the ancestors and looked at their drawings..."

"It was fascinating to learn their language better..."

"Undoubtedly, it's simply necessary for our research, I'm sure we'll be able to learn it... And there's enough time ahead - a whole eternity... The Library staff should put up a sign with a pointer to a room which preserves the history and culture of centuries-old generations: we offered them our idea, and the implementation is up to them..."

"I think they'll take our advice... After all, visitors would be happy to go there if they knew about the existence of a tiny basement with a rich collection of the most valuable wonderful books... By the way, I was pleased to read stories on the ground floor at the large table..."

"Did you want to stay longer, sugar?..."

"No, no, we had enough time..."

"At home, of course, we'll finish reading magnificent, splendid stories... We're going to return books to the Library in a couple of weeks - then we'll take new stories, I suppose... To sum up, the day was a success, we were impressed by all the places we saw... You liked it, sweetheart, didn't you?..."

"Very much... Thank you for the route you have thought out..."

"Everything for you, starlight, I was glad to discover new things and visit astonishing museums with you... I'm glad to organize our leisure time for you, sweetheart... Oh, we've already reached Harmony Park, and there are a lot of empty benches... Also there's a cozy cafe nearby, do you mind having lunch?..."

"Can we take food with us and eat outside?..."

"Sure, apparently, that's the only way we can do it... Looks like there's already a queue lined up inside... I'm going to get in before the crowd becomes even longer, and you choose the right food for yourself..."

"Choose for me, I'll wait for you on the street, on the bench - I'm a little tired..."

"Oh, of course, I'll take dishes for us according to our preferences, princess... Have a rest, I'll come to you soon..."

That would be Sylvia~. Man, she's drop dead gorgeous! A real doll~! I thought you'd never ask about her but boy am I glad ya did! I'm kinda surprised actually. She's a great friend of mine! She's kind, classy, gentle, sexy, and an amazin' dancer! She's way too good fer me, I know that and even she tells me that, but that doesn't stop us from bein' friends that uh... "benefit" from eachother. Even if we have no plans of ever gettin' in a romantic relationship together, we still "hang out" every now and then. I mean, we just can't see eachother bein' together like that. And honestly, I ain't too interested in bein' her boyfriend. These feelings I have fer her ain't romantic, just the other thing, even if I do flirt with her. That ain't a problem fer her, I think she feels the same way.

She works at a club as a dancer and I've seen a lot of her shows. The type of dancer she is, I can't say here but I will say that she makes fer a good firefighter. The way her body moves is sexy and hypnotic and I can't look away! The outfits she puts on really gets me excited too. And there's plenty of stuff I love about her body that I can't even say here either! Let's just say that when I'm with her, I'm glad I'm so short, heheheh. It ain't even just about sex when I'm with her either, she's genuinely a great friend ta me. She listens ta my problems and I listen ta hers, we share a lot of laughs, and even helped me out durin' some tough times. I just feel better bein' around her, y'know? So that's Sylvia! I can't say I'm ever plannin' on invitin' her over here, seein' how some of ya are ta me, but I'm glad I could at least tell ya about her.

“OId Friends”

I do think Henry will be in the upcoming game. Or maybe it’s wishful thinking. The new “Artists Rest” area looks quite promising, Henry being the only real artist in the games thus far so it makes sense that we could encounter him there.

I am also not prepared to put the notion away that Sammy won’t be in this game aswell. It’s common thought that the impaled ‘Demon Follower’ we see in the trailer is Sammy. While that is a fair assumption to make there were other followers of Bendy I believe, at the very least as a part of Sammy’s congregation. Even if it is Sammy impaled, he’s already survived multple deaths thus far, why shouldn’t the fan favourite survive again?

Also she isn’t well known but but Emma LaMonte who was in an audio log in BATDS is british, could she be one and the same with the british woman we hear in the trailer? Ms LaMonte was a dance instructure and their outfit looks vaguely reminiscent of leotard(?)

Note: look i’ve never done this before, i just really really got stuck on this idea and i really liked benny. might not be your idea of him but god i think he’s a huge dork and a giant softie so here we are. wanted to throw a queer reader out there since you just don’t see them all that much and do something maybe a little off the wall? idk have fun, i think i’m hilarious XD

By some stroke of fate, you pick Benny up at a bar the first time you meet.

He’s not hard to spot in a crowd as tall as he is and you’re just buzzed enough that your eye keeps coming back to him as the night goes on. He slides from corner to corner with his shoulders slightly hunched and the proverbial tail between his legs, following two shorter men who obviously know what kind of bar they’ve walked in to. Benny though—you didn’t know his name at the time so you called him Baby in your head—darts around with a kind of deer-in-headlights expression. It’s cute.

And annoying.

At first, you roll your eyes at him. Great, another straight dude to hit on your friends and get mad when they say no.

Then you watch him a little longer.

You can’t help it, he’s pretty and looks more than a little lost and even from the end of the bar you can see how wide his tentative smile gets as he looks around. He likes what he sees; you’re just trying to figure out exactly what it is he’s liking. For a while Baby sits at a table with his friends. Holds a fruity cocktail between his knees almost as if he’s scared to be seen with it. Then after a couple drinks his smile gets wider and his voice gets loud. Boy’s boisterous—you can tell by the way he talks with his hands and throws his head back to laugh. He’s actually really fun to watch and it makes you smile. His buddies look almost out of place too until they get up to dance and—wow, talk about snake hips and floor sex, you haven’t seen anyone dance that good off the drag stage in ages. Baby stares at his empty drink for a bit, lost again, then heads to the bar. Not far from where you are, actually. Watching him walk with a couple drinks in him is a world of difference to how he first came in. There’s a swing in his broad shoulders, a confident cocky tilt to his head and you’re not sure if you want to punch him or if it’s the sexiest thing you’ve ever seen.

Despite your better judgment, you’re leaning to the latter.

You make a bet with yourself as he pulls up at the bar—he got the fun drink to please his friends, he’ll order something boring now—and you’re pleasantly surprised to lose your own bet. Baby orders a whole-ass mai tai and looks overjoyed at the gigantic slice of pineapple and cherries garnishing the top. He turns to the stage. Avidly watches a few performers and even starts cheering. That’s when others folks start to take notice. A couple men make a pass and, wouldn’t you know it, Baby plays nice. Smiles and nods politely even though you can tell he’s not really into it. Not totally but it makes you think…

Maybe Baby’s a little bendy and not as straight as you thought.

At that point in the night, your friends are on their fifth dance, you’re on your third drink, and it’s getting way too loud in here for you. You were going to step out for a bit anyway��or so you tell yourself—so why not have some company? Who knows, you might get lucky. And if not, you’ll have an even better excuse to get some air and at least you can say you did it for laughs. Not that this is a casino but you’re feeling feisty. Might as well roll the dice. Baby looks like the kinda Midwest-flavored bite of beefcake that will either have great taste and love your stupid pickups or get scared and leave. Hopefully he’s not the kind to throw a punch.

You sidle up to the bar next to him. No doubt your outfit gets his attention first. It’s not risqué exactly but it’s got flavor, specifically your queer kind of flavor, and it draws the eye the way you wear it. You smile as you look him up and down, enjoying the red flush on his cheeks that trickles down under the collar of his fitted shirt. Wow, Baby is built. You ask the bartender for a couple drinks while part of your buzzing brain throws up red flags. Maybe you should try to land your mouth before it totally takes off but unfortunately for ground control your tongue is flying solo tonight. You get your drink. Pluck off the fruit, take a bite and shout over the music,

“Can I get your name or should I just get you a drink?”

As expected, Baby looks confused as hell but he pastes on a polite, if guarded, smile. “I wouldn’t mind a drink.”

Without missing a beat, you give him the second glass in your hand. There’s something about the way that guarded smile doesn’t quite meet his eyes that makes you want to do something stupid. You want to see him smile and laugh and even though you don’t have the slightest inkling about him, you want to know why such a handsome face would ever look so afraid.

So of course you ask, “How ‘bout a bet then? I make you laugh, you tell me your name?”

He makes a considering face and takes a long sip. “Bet.”

“What do you call the sexuality where you’re attracted to people by no one is attracted to you?”

“What?”

Very off key and with all the drama you can muster, you sing, “Allll Biiiii Myseeeelf.”

Baby snorts a laugh in his drink, which you didn’t expect, and a little warmth grows in your stomach. His faux smile is turning to a real grin. Albeit still a confused one but delighted all the same and he shoots back, “So that’s you, huh? By yourself?”

You wince theatrically and shake your head.

“Ouch, Baby’s got teeth! You got me.”

“Nah, what you get’s a name.” He holds out his hand and you groan internally at the length and breadth of it as you shake. “Benny.”

Just like that Baby becomes Benny and you’re absolutely smitten. You give him your name. Maybe your fingers linger. You want to get him another drink. You want to tell him another joke. Hell, you want to take him home and stuff him full of food in the morning. He giggles a bit and it’s endearing enough you decide to press your luck.

“How ‘bout this one? What’s the best N’Sync song?”

It’s not a fair question, dude might not have ever even heard a boy band in his life, so it takes you by surprise when he immediately pops back with a drawling version of, “It’s tearin’ up my heart when I’m with you?”

“Ooo, a little romantic! I see you!” you tease, pinching his thick bicep for just an instant. Because really, any longer than that and you’d melt.

Benny doesn’t pull away like you were waiting for him to do. Instead he ducks his head, more than booze burning his cheeks, and—ah, hell.

“That one is killer,” you admit, “but I was thinking of the one where they sing ‘Bye Bye Bye’ while we blow outta here for dinner?”

It’s a stupid line—one of the worst you’ve ever come up with—and it comes out more like a question than a joke. You throw back the rest of your drink to hide the look on Benny’s face but to your delight, he says,

“Wait, really?”

“Well yeah.” You lean against the bar next to him, trying and failing to be nonchalant and you shrug. “I’m hungry and even though you’re a Grade A snack I don’t think you’d appreciate me taking a bite. So how ‘bout dinner?”

Benny finishes his drink all at once. Wipes his mouth with the back of his hand as he stands. You sigh to yourself—this is the part where he walks off and you go get dinner alone, you suppose. But then he grins, like really grins, and offers you his arm to hold and suddenly your knees are jello shots.

“I could go for a bite.”

So you go for dinner. Text your friends, of course. But mosey down the street for 12AM tacos and end up laughing with Benny, shoulder to shoulder on the curb until your friends call for a ride.

And even though you didn’t get to take him home and feed him in the morning, your phone still dings through your snooze with a message under Benny’s name that reads:

What did the barista say to his crush?

I like you a latte. :)

Coffee later?

The warmth in your stomach from the night before blooms again and you laugh into your pillow before you text back:

Love to!

This part follows y/n blowing off some steam with Diego being a supportive brother.

You don’t have to read every single part as each focuses on the reader’s relationship with each of her sibings.

Your blood was boiling.

How dare Luther, your own brother accuse you of killing your own father.

Sure, your childhood wasn’t exactly the healthiest and emotionally suitable for a child but in a weird way your father had shape and trained the 7 of you to be at least somewhat in control of your powers.

Raising superpowered children is no small task.

Lost in your thoughts, you hadn’t realized how far from the academy you had walked.

You stared at the city Harborview, imaging how your life would be different if you hadn’t had these powers.

Peace. That’s what you think you would have. A sense of peace, living a normal daily life- get up, go to work, hang out with friends, sleep in a nice cosy apartment and repeat. No powers.

The final words of Sir Reginald replays in your mind.

‘The end is near, get the others ……and save…..the…..tttiiiimmm’

The end is near, get the others and save the tim- whatever or whoever tim is.

You assumed that it meant his time was up and had wanted the family back together. You had done just that but what had that got you? Indictment for one. A family reunion consisting of 5 emotionally incompetent adults and one trapped in a kid’s body.

Leaning across the railing you shouted. ‘Cosplaying as batman at aged 6 was cute but as a grown ass adult lurking in the shadows is definitely a red flag!’

A chuckle sounded from the corner. ‘Noted m’mam. Will not do it again’ said a deep voice.

To an untrained ear, no sounds of footsteps could be heard.

You, however can as do your siblings. All of who can also identify who is coming based on the sound- each ever have a slight variation, a unique touch.

Luther has the heaviest, loudest footsteps out of everyone.

Allison- quiet and delicate.

Diego has a sense of purpose in his walk- no doubt like the secret agent and superheroes he had always wanted to be.

Klaus is a bit unpredictable; it is either too fast and energetic or soft and slow pace.

Five. He cheats, mostly blipping in and out of places. But if need be, he usually takes leaps or huge steps, always ready to teleport out of any situation in midstep.

Ben. The master of stealth. He always manages to take the least steps, the most effective route between hiding points.

Vanya though without training is actually very good. At times you wouldn’t even notice her near as proven in her countless times secretly watching the rest of you training.

‘I doubt that.’ Turning to face the new arrival. ‘You are the literally embodiment of Vigilante Hero Complex.’

The city lights illuminating his face.

‘Ah! Case in point!’ You pointed at his outfit. ‘You’re even wearing a spandex suit, Diego!’

Diego shook his head, brushing off your teasing aside. He was happy to at least help bring a smile onto your face- even if it was at his expense.

‘How you feeling?’ Even though you all were the same age, Diego can’t deny that the numbering hadn’t had an older sibling protectiveness to come over him- especially when Luther was being a total dick. If only he was in charge, he thought.

‘Better… better now that you’re here.’ You admitted, bothering your brother never gets old. ‘Thanks by the way-for the cheer up.’

You both stayed in comfortable silence it was not until 20 mins later did Diego break it by apologising.

‘Sorry for what?’

He didn’t reply instead he lifted something out of his pocket. It shone against the deep blue waves.

You gasped. ‘Dad’s monocle.’

‘I know Luther believes you took it.’ He let out an exasperated sigh. ‘I’m sorry. I should’ve have confessed instead you took blame for me….’

Wrapping his fist around it he continued, voice getting harsher. ‘I …I just couldn’t you know? After all he did to us? How he treated us? We were just kids!’

He clutched it tighter shattering the glass. ‘He was gone. This was the most valuable things he had- never let it out of his sight….so I thought that this….that by taking this, it would be the closest thing in ever hurting him.’

‘Oh Diego…’ You didn’t know how to comfort someone who is going through the same scenario, a same situation that you yourself need help on. ‘Dad is gone and…yes he wasn’t the most caring father. But the past is in the past, the only thing we can do now to move forward. Don’t let that define us. Strive to do better.’

‘We tried that once remember? And where did it get us?’ He countered.

‘Better than if we were to have stayed.’ You rebutted. ‘C’mon Diegs. Think about mom. Think about how she constantly reminds us to put our best foot forward, no matter what life throws at us..’

Diego’s face softens, he was always a momma’s boy.

Closing his eyes, he mutters an okay. Then he tosses the bloody cracked monocle into the water. ‘Now, why don’t we go stuff our faces full of donuts.’ You offered. ‘I can handle your typical brooding self but the 2 of us sulking? No can do, what we need is to eat our feelings.’

‘Giddy’s it is.’ Replied Diego, offering you his arm.

‘So I assume you parked 2 blocks from here?’

His eyes went wide. ‘How’d you-‘

‘PPPPlease!’ Rolling your eyes. ‘I might have subconsciously wander to this part of town, but I was conscious about a car not so subtly tailing me for 6 blocks.’

‘So you knew I was watching you from the very beginning.’

‘YUPPPP’ Popping the p. ‘At first I wasn’t sure who- nice car by the way, new?

‘A month ago.’

‘Anyway is wasn’t until you started following on foot til I knew.’

Elaborating when you saw his confused look. ‘You walk as if you’re the protagonist in an action film.’

‘I do not!’ He said defensively.

‘DO too!- Thanks.’ Settling down onto the passenger seat as Diego closed the door.

The debate lasted until you reach Giddy’s or so what was left of the store.

It’s Impossible To Make Money for Most Writers and Artists in Comics

Comic books—and the characters that inhabit their pages—have never been more mainstream, but the writers and artists who work in comics say it's way too hard to make a living in the industry.

Last week, some of the biggest names in comics announced that they were making a deal with Substack to publish original works on the platform. Batman writer James Tynion IV said in the inaugural post that he was excited to "dedicate my whole brain to building a bunch of really cool stuff on my own terms, without having to get permission from any publisher to make it."

Substack framed this as an investment in talent, pouring money into an industry where creators say that they aren't earning much. But people who work in comics have seen this happen before, and sources told Motherboard that they are unsure the kinds of deals that the biggest names in comics have made with Substack will benefit other people in the industry much, if at all.

"Every once in a while an outfit will show up just with millions burning holes in their pockets, and they will absolutely be the coolest kid in the room for two, three years. They will pay huge amounts to fan favorites to produce work," C. Spike Trotman, founder and editor of independent comics publisher Iron Circus, told Motherboard. "More often than they don't, they reach the bottom of the war chest and they kind of drop out of sight. They sink beneath the waves. I'm not going to say that's what's going to happen to Substack, I don't know their financial situation. But it's not an unfamiliar phenomenon."

Multiple surveys of comic book writers, pencilers, inkers, colorists, and letterers show how bad the underlying problem is. According to an industry survey from Fair Page Rates, which surveyed 123 creators in 2015, Marvel offered an average rate of $81.43 per page for writers, and $372 for line art. DC's breakdown was broadly similar, at $111 for writers and $352 for line art. In a 2017 Creator Resource Survey, the average rate per page for writing at Marvel was $60, and the average page rate for line art was $173. DC fared slightly better, with an average of $99 per page of writing, though there wasn't enough data to determine an average rate for line art. (These low rates mean that the production of comics art for even major companies is in many cases essentially subsidized by the artists' relatively lucrative sales of their original, physical art.)

Motherboard reached out to Marvel and DC to ask about the rates they pay for art and writing, but they did not respond in time for publication.

Multiple sources told Motherboard that in the time since those surveys, not a lot has changed. One artist, who asked to remain anonymous because they still work in the industry, provided art for a popular licensed intellectual property on a work-for-hire basis and said that they were paid $170 per page. They said that each page took from six to eight hours. Assuming one keeps an eight hour work day, for a full day of work, pay at this rate works out to $21.25 an hour. Because this work is for hire, it means this artist also has to deal with all the economic difficulties of not having a regular salaried job.

"Because comics are SO labor intensive, it's hard to balance multiple comics gigs, and so often folks have to find alternate revenue sources like Patreon or Twitch or making prints & merchandise (which is all still laborious), or relying on employed partners," this artist said. "And since cons couldn't be a thing during the pandemic, that was also a huge loss of income for a lot of people."

Substack's entrance into the field—and that of rivals, should any decide to join the fray—may or may not lead to direct increases in income for writers and artists. It will, though, do something to address another central problem in the industry, one that has long contributed to the success of independent publishers like Image.

One consequence of doing work for hire is that ultimately, what you produce doesn't belong to you—in a literal sense, writers and artists for major publishers generally don't own the characters they're writing and drawing. Superman is owned by DC, and Spider-Man is owned by Marvel, even if I write stories about them on the company's behalf, and that's almost invariably still true even if I invent new friends and foes for them. Writers like Ed Brubaker, who created the Winter Soldier featuring in the eponymous Falcon and Winter Soldier show, get little more than token recognition when their creations are turned into derivative properties, even ones featuring in movies grossing billions. A check in the area of $5,000—reportedly what Marvel creators are paid when their inventions are used in movies—does not reflect the work he put into what is now a popular, and lucrative, character for Marvel and its parent company Disney, or its value. But comics corporations have no obligation to offer more. If you want to write about the characters you grew up reading, you don't have a lot of leverage—there are so many other writers and artists who grow up with the same dream.

Original and new creations also fall prey to this system. In December of last year, Disney announced a show based on RiRi Williams, a young Black girl who builds her own Iron Man-style suit. The character was popularized by Eve L. Ewing, who wrote the Ironheart series, whose assistant told Motherboard, "She does not retain any rights pertaining to Ironheart nor is she expecting any additional compensation from the forthcoming Disney+ show."

One-sided work arrangements don't only affect writers and artists economically, but creatively. Imagine you're a writer at Marvel, and you have a great idea for an arc. Your bosses love this idea so much they cancel the book you've been working on—after only 10 issues—so you can concentrate on turning your pitch into a huge event. During an already bittersweet moment, you have to rush a final issue of your book out the door, and the final product includes things you didn't write, some of which end up becoming a minor scandal.

In a recent podcast with Leah Williams, writer for the recently canceled X-Factor book and writer for the upcoming Trial of Magneto, she describes this happening to her. She also says at the end of the day, Marvel has the right to use its intellectual property in this way.

"X-Factor #10 was kind of my first experience learning how little control I have. There are pages I didn't write and were added to the issue after the fact. There was dialogue I didn't write. I kind of found out around the same time readers did," Williams said. "This is a huge company, this is their IP and they're allowed to do that kind of thing without me being involved in the process."

That's the reality for many people working on comics—when you work for Marvel or DC, the things you create aren't owned by you, and what becomes of them is ultimately dictated by a myriad of forces outside of your control. And even for the most successful creators, it's hard to access the fruits of your success. Marvel and DC use their characters to tell stories about justice, heroism, and, increasingly, righting historical wrongs. The fact that the increasingly diverse creators who tell them get the same old treatment seems like an ever-more glaring blind spot.

rating spirit halloween clowns again

speaking of spirit halloween,

i previously rated a bunch of spirit halloween clown costumes and now that its halloween times again im back at it again with animatronic clowns this time. they have a very nice pennywise as well but im only rating original clowns here

clowning around

a pretty good boy, i like his face and his spooky eyes, i always love a good monochrome clown but hes got this goofy country bumpkin accent im not really vibing with. he is VERY tall so i imagine he’s probably scarier in person though i have not had an opportunity to meet him. the screaming children are a unique touch but they kinda just look like floppy baby dolls if you look at them too closely. not a fan of anything that would cause whatever spooky attraction you’re making to have constant child screaming sounds playing, either, but, hes still a pretty good clown. hes also the only clown in this old timey monochrome style im seeing here so he gets props for that. 7/10

rotten ringmaster

i dont think clowns are usually ringmasters but points for creativity but then points lost again bc his face just looks so. generically creepy. he just looks boring to me. like hes trying to be pennywise but didn’t quite make it. this child victim looks slightly better than before but also has very very fake little cloth legs and mr ringmaster looks really weirdly proportioned from any other angle and not in a spooky way just in a Weird Bendy Way. 5/10, i dont really know why im so uninterested in this guy

cuddles the clown

look at this fucked up weirdo what am i even LOOKING at here. he looks like a clown made of nightmares and snakes. his fingers are just more clowns. i desperately want to see this thing in person i cannot get OVER this guy i cannot imagine this thing existing in physical space even with the video 10/10

mr salty

he acts like he’s flashing you only to reveal a very... particularly placed shorter clown. the little one’s name is willy. i do not like it at all 1/10 this gets one point for the fact that i like “surprise it’s TWO clowns” if this wasn’t designed Like That

i also can’t tell if they’re like, sharing the same pair of shoes or if they’re bizarre conjoined twin clowns or what the fuck is going on

fright in the box

I SAW THIS BOX EARLIER I DIDN’T KNOW THERE WAS A CLOWN IN IT i cant wait to go back and meet him. im not a big fan of jumpscare animatronics, though they are effective. i like that this guy doesnt seem to have any kind of body. he just looks like a spooky napkin. big beetlejuice vibes here i like him 7/10

tug-of-war

TWO OF THEM!!!

these guys are playfully fighting over a screaming child like brothers fighting over a teddy bear. the fact that they don’t move very fast or very violently makes it seem less threatening and more like they just want to play but are very bad at it which is endearing to me for some reason. i want to hang out with them. mostly im just trying to figure out what the fuck is happening with the right guy’s face though

what is going ON here. this might be among one of the weirdest clowns i have ever seen but hes so different and visually interesting i legitimately really like him. getting some strong jigsaw vibes from the other guy, i like him as well. i like his cute overalls. big fan of these guys. 10/10

waving wally

what a nice young man he doesnt jump out to scare you or threaten you hes just wavin. hi wally. he seems friendly i would hang out with him too. i like this one bc he has mostly pretty normal features/body proportions so he looks more believably like a regular guy instead of a Monster Clown Creature which i personally like a lot more. i like his empty void eyes a lot. not sure about the light up nose though. kind of a rudolph look going on there. i like his little hat. i dunno theres something very pleasant about wally hes simple and visually pleasing and he is my friend 10/10

crouchy

crouchy is such an unpleasant name and i feel like they coulda done better than just naming him after the position hes in but whatever. this guy’s a pretty generic monster clown, there’s not a lot of creativity going on here but if you want a nice monster clown for whatever occasion you need a monster clown for, he’s pretty good. he is VERY tall. the effect is pretty imposing in person, i met him last year. he doesn’t talk he just laughs. here to have a good time. 7/10

uncle charlie

look at this guy!!! i like him. i like his very spooky face combined with the big silly flower/etc. theres a nice jarring contrast there. kinda has almost the exact same head as crouchy though. he doesn’t jumpscare you either from what i can tell he just hangs out and looks ominous. hes my friend i like him 8/10

towering creepy clown

the description says his name is grimsli. i thought his neck ruffle was a bib at first. pretty generic but i like his noodly legs. 6/10 i feel like he may have been on display here last year too he looks familiar

peek-a-boo clown

he’s a clown, he’s spooky, he plays peekaboo. pretty straight forward. his movement is pretty smooth actually though. his outfit is hideous even by clown standards, but to the point i think it actually works for him somehow. his face looks more like a weird zombie than a clown to me but he DOES have rainbow swirly eyes so BIG props for that. 7/10

clown ferris wheel

LOOK AT THEM THEY’RE SO CUTE i love the ones with the empty soulless eyes. the fact that this doesn’t have any dialogue recorded or anything and the clowns just silently stare and spin around and around with a slightly off kilter circus tune looping makes it equally unsettling and hilarious. i legitimately want this thing. if i was rich and owned a house i would have this thing in my living room all year long and everyone who knows me would absolutely hate it. 10/10

also it doesnt look like they’re selling hugz the clown on their site right now which saddens me i hope he hasnt been discontinued :( i met him last year hes good and i like him as well

Mysterioustale’s Design Board + Character Info

Although it’s mostly for a self-reminder on how to do the chara’s designs, you can use it as well if you wanna make fanart! ^v^

Just credit me for the Mysterioustale AU with a @. Fair warning, though, there’s spoilers abound.

Coraline

8th (and last) fallen human, bearer of the SOUL of Determination.

Weapon: Stick (supposed to be the same one she uses in the beginning of the movie for water witching). Armor: Dragonfly Hairclip.

Has the same backstory as in canon; used to live in Michigan, until her and her parents moved to the Pink Palace because of her parent’s gardening catalog.

Decided to explore Mt. Falls because of the boredom of lacking her parent’s attention, and the curiosity sparked by her neighbors telling her the tale about it. After falling, her goal is initially to escape and go back home, but she gradually tries to do it in a way she won’t kill anyone.

Initially starts as the snotty, attention-seeking jerk she is at the beginning of her movie, but just like in her movie, the circumstances she finds herself in molds her into a more patient, kind girl that feels sympathy for the magic beings trapped in the mountain. Is still snarky all the way through, though.

Dipper and Mabel

The first fallen humans, bearers of the SOUL of Determination.

Have the rare phenomenon of sharing one SOUL since birth (it has a higher chance of happening for twins, but it is lower on fraternal twins like they are). They can be separated from each other without ill consequences, but their SOUL tends to be stronger when they are together.

Weapon: Mystery Book and Grappling Hook. Armor: Friendship Rings.

Their shirt/sweater’s color is cyan because it’s the negative of this one long-sleeved shirt of Coraline. Their designs are also intentionally, slightly invocative of the ‘60s.

Dipper is still the socially anxious, snarky smart guy, and Mabel is still the wild, fun-loving and goofy girl. However, both have low self-esteem and self-love because of a rough life in the Surface, and a dislike for humanity in general. This is why both were wiling to die for Tails to obtain their and six other SOULs.

Ran to Mt. Falls to escape their village.

Layed dormant in their grave in the Hidden Palace until Coraline fell; her Determination woke both of them up and they weren’t aware of their adoptive father’s plans until they heard about it through Coraline’s journey.

Mabel was closer to Amy, and Dipper closer to Sonic. Both equally loved Tails, and miss him so much.

Amy Rose

Guardian/Caretaker of the Hidden Palace, ex-Queen of the Underground and ex-wife of Sonic.

Still has the Piko Piko Hammer, and uses it on the battle at the end of the Hidden Palace. She also has wind powers she shares with Sonic, and uses them both for offensive and supportive purposes.

She’s a sweet and cherry mother figure... Until you present a threat to a nearby kid, or piss her off. Ask Bill Cipher and Sonic. She also loves puns, but not to the exact extent of a certain toony demon.

Despite seeming so cherry and carefree, she’s actually very hurt over the death of the children she treated as her own and couldn’t prevent.

Bakes a vanilla-mint pie, since both were some of the most liked flavors of the three kids she formely raised as her own (vanilla for Dipper and Mabel, mint for Tails).

Sonic the Hedgehog

The King of the Underground, ex-husband of Amy Rose.

Uses in combat a sword similar to Excalibur in Sonic and the Black Knight, and even has a glove to hold it. Shares the offensive wind powers with Amy.

Definitely used to be more like his canon self in the past, and fit in as the cool father figure. Losing the family he held dear in one night, though, was enough to not only humble him, but break him into a miserable shell of his former self.

He still tries to pass by as the same cool-headed, determined justice bringer he was in the past, but it becomes harder and harder everyday to keep the facade.

Has a thing for gardening. Favorite food is still chilli dogs, though.

Bendy the Little Devil Darlin’

One of Snowdin’s sentries (in the most loose term of the word), Boris’ best pal and housemate, perhaps the Judge of the Underground, and knows more than his face lets on.

He is made out of ink, and can turn himself into a pile of bubbling ink and sink himself into the ground to teleport, leaivng behind a stain on the ground. He can carry others, even humans, with this if they sink onto his ink pool. He shares the bullet pencils with Boris and might have skulls to blast beams.

He’s a polite, but goofily cheerful fellow that, in a surface-level, seems to take nothing seriously and prefers to hunt for trouble or fun rather than do his sentry duties. However, he has a serious, mature, and secretly creepy side hiding underneath the veil, and hates making promises. He likes to call anyone a pal, and Coraline/Amy Rose as toots.

He somehow always has a J-pipe on toe, just so he can dance out of nowhere. He also somehow finds a bajillion things to do.

He likes to drink ink. Fresh or old, and if necessary, straight out of the pot.

Boris the Wolf

One of Snowdin’s sentries (in the most loose term of the word), Bendy’ best pal and housemate, painter, and aspirant for capturing a human and becoming a Royal Guard.

He is made out of ink like Bendy, but never figured out a teleporting technique like him. His ink structure does make him apathetic to glass shards, though. He has bullets shaped like pencils stained with ink, and can change a human’s SOUL to yellow.

He’s a bit more blunt, dispassionate, serious and bored than his best pal, but most of it is his dwindling hopes of finding a human, becoming a Royal Guard or making a new friend besides Bendy and Yumi. Once Coraline comes, he displays more cherriness, while still remaining the more level-headed of the rubberhose brothers. He also likes to call people pal, and has a thick Brooklyn accent. His catchphrase is Good Gosh Golly, and his laugh is Wrah Hah Hah.

He’s a painter, but sometimes his art falls on the modern abstract side.

Unlike Bendy, he has a distaste for ink. He prefers normal magic food, mostly sandwiches.

Yumi Yoshimura

Ex-member of Puffy AmiYumi, but still a good friend of Ami, and Captain of the Royal Guard.

She is strong and physically durable to a fault, and is able to survive drops from high structures. Her main form of attack is blue guitars that are launched like spears, and she can turn a human’s SOUL to dark blue.

She’s sarcastic, rough and cynical, and can appear antagonist, especially to a human, since it’s her job to hunt for their SOULs. However, she has a golden heart, and a sense of loyalty and honor, even if it’s for former targets; she stops hunting Coraline down once she wakes her up from Dreamland’s energy.

Her battle cry is Hiyaaah!

Her in-job outfit’s aesthetic is a cowboy instead of a knight. Her casual outfit is partially inspired on both her pilot outfit and her final outfit.

Ami Onuki

Ex-member of Puffy AmiYumi, but still a good friend of Yumi, and The Royal Scientist.

Unusual for her airheaded preppy girl aesthetic, she’s actually quite smart and tech-savvy, able to hack (aka: program) Dreamland and HEART’s structures and build things (even though she doesn’t compare to a certain someone...). She doesn’t demonstrate much physical power, though.

She seems to be peppy, cheerful and optimistic, even if a bit awkward as well. If one interacts with her long enough, though, one can quickly find out that most of her cherry personality is a forefront to hide a lack of self-esteem, a willingness to lie to gain love, and guilt from a failed experiment.

Do you own a black leather jacket? A pleather one, yes. Something badass about wearing one haha.

Do you find musicians or athletes more attractive? I’ve been attracted to more musicians, but that’s cause I’m more familiar with them. I don’t see a lot of athletes as someone who doesn’t watch or care at all about sports. Although, guys in baseball uniforms are nice. haha. Oh, back when I was like 13 or 14 I remember thinking Andy Roddick, a tennis player, was hot. I saw his photo in a magazine. Are you better at spelling or writing? I think both. How many siblings do you have? Two. If you could have an ice cream sundae right now, would you? No.

Do you use emoji's? Yeah. I don’t go crazy, but I like to use them as I see fit. When was the last time you lost a tooth? I broke a tooth like 10 years ago and had to get it pulled. You ask this question like it’s the norm to loose a tooth when I’m pretty sure the people who take surveys are past the ages where you lose your teeth. Do you like bendy or regular straws better? I like to use coffee stirrer straws cause the holes are small. If someone signed you up for karate lessons, would you take them? Uh, no. What's your favorite song? I have numerous favorite songs.

Do you come on this website as much as you used to when you first found it? Not as much, no. I used to spend like all day on Tumblr back in the day. Now I typically just get on at night as part of my nighttime routine of Tumblr and surveys. That’s also when I watch the most YouTube cause I like to listen to ASMR at night. I feel like I probably go on YouTube more now than before or perhaps it’s about the same. Do you drink hot tea? Once in awhile. It’s usually when I’m feeling really anxious or really sick.

No. I believe in angels, but not that we become one. Angels are another of God’s creations. They’re ministering spirits. They’re their own thing and humans are another. No. I dabbled a bit with it when I was like 16 and angsty, but they’re so cringe. I still have the journal stored away with them and I’ve gone back to read them as an adult and yikes. Do you come on here daily? For the most part, unless I’m really not feeling well. What's one thing you wish you were perfect at? No one is perfect, but it’d be nice to be a functioning adult. Can you play the saxophone? Nope. Does it bother you when people breathe loud? I will say I feel uncomfortable when someone has a breathing problem because it makes me hyper focused on my own breathing and I end up feeling like I can’t breathe. Are you going to any concerts in 2013? Can you believe it's going to be 2013? I didn’t. The last concert I went to was back in 2009. Were you in love with the movie Mary Poppins? Not in love with it, but I like it. Do you like breadsticks? Yes. Have you ever been on a mountain? Yeah, I took a gondola ride up to one. If you had to get rid of one of your sense, which one and why? I’d really rather not.

Can you swim? Nope. Do you usually wear shorts around your house all year long? No, I wear leggings all year long. Do you remember Sesame Street? Of course. It’s also still very much a thing. Do you believe every word that comes out of peoples mouths? Of course not. You have to take some things with a grain of salt or healthy dose of skepticism. You gotta gauge what is being said and who is saying it, too, and make the judgment. That doesn’t mean I don’t trust my loved ones or that I think everyone is a liar or something, but people can give misinformation unknowingly, so it’s not always being done intentionally. It’s just not a good idea to believe every single word that comes out of people’s mouths. Do you like the questions that really make you think? Depends on my mood. What are you asking for for Christmas? Just a few little things. What time do you plan on going to bed on Tuesday? I don’t have a set bedtime for any given day, I go to bed whenever. I’ve talked a lot about my messed up sleep schedule in surveys. It’s certainly not planned. How many of your friends are online right now on here? I have no idea who’s currently on. I’m kind of the night owl of the survey community who’s up doing surveys while everyone is asleep like normal people. When they’re getting up in the morning, I’m going to bed, ha. :X Do you know what Je means in French? I do, actually. How often do you write in red pen? I don’t recall the last time I used a red pen. Do you cut your own hair? No. I used to trim my own bangs back when I had ‘em, though. Do you have any pictures in your room from concerts? No. Would you ever name your son Harry? Again, I don’t want to have children, but Harry is another name I don’t particularly care for. Have you ever had your nails done in french tips? Yeah, the one and only time I got my nails done, which was for my 8th grade promotion. Is it harder for you to type on a keyboard that isn't yours & not used to? Yes, for sure. I also don’t type as fast on my phone than I do on my laptop.

When you type, do you ever mix letters around by accident? (EX: ot - to) Yes. Do you like butterflies? No. I’m afraid of ALL bugs/insects, even the ones people think are cute like butterflies and ladybugs. Nopeee. Do you consider the tomato a fruit or vegetable? Tomatoes apparently can be referred to as either one. I always thought they were a vegetable. Does it rain over where you live? Yes. It hasn’t rained since like March or April, though. We Californians get excited when it rains cause it doesn’t happen often lol. I hope we get some soon. It’s been cold now at least, which I love. Is there any snow on the ground?
