Nascida em Boston nos EUA, Samantha vem de uma família com raízes asiáticas bem fortes. 

Seus pais haviam mudado para o país assim que a mãe descobriu estar grávida, para que a garota pudesse ter de fato uma oportunidade melhor em sua vida e sua educação. Os pais deram tudo de si, se estabeleceram no centro da cidade em um apartamento modesto, mas que supria todas as necessidades da pequena família.

A mãe de Samantha, trabalhava como enfermeira no hospital universitário enquanto o pai, tratava dos negócios da família: Um pequeno restaurante onde serviam comida típica da Coreia do Sul, tanto para os imigrantes asiáticos que queriam um sabor de casa, quanto para os curiosos que não sabiam nada da história e cultura da família Goo e de tantas outras.

Com o tempo, depois que chegava da escola, Sam sempre ajudava no restaurante, às vezes como caixa, outras como garçonete.

Durante seu trabalho no restaurante, Sam lia muitos jornais em coreano, onde os clientes do pai sempre deixavam que ela os lesse, assim surgiu o amor de Samantha pelo jornalismo.

Com a ajuda da mãe e do incentivo do pai, ela conseguiu uma bolsa para estudar na universidade, onde cursou jornalismo e por mais que quisesse se manter junto dos pais, Sam sempre quis conhecer mais da Coreia e da cultura, por mais que vivesse cercada dela, não parecia ser a mesma coisa.

Aplicou para diversos trabalhos e até estágios na Coréia do Sul, e quando estava prestes a perder as esperanças, recebeu um e-mail dizendo que havia sido contratada.

Agora, ela mora em um goshiwon em Yongsan-gu e trabalha para a Seoul Daily como radialista matinal, trazendo as melhores notícias para os moradores.

the ending of avatar is just so good. teal’c and daniel have reached the final stage of the game. the goa’uld could be any one of sam, jack, or siler and daniel’s two-second precognition isn’t enough to tell which one it is in time. the naquadah generator is about to explode and sg-1 is stuck in a four-way standoff.

and then at almost the last minute teal’c makes a decision to trust his team. he decides to trust that jack and sam are on his side just like he took a chance on trusting jack and betraying apophis in children of the gods.

and his trust pays off, sam defuses the bomb and they kill goa’uld!siler and win the game. and then:

Happy New Year everyone! I’m back. This was actually a fun idea that was supposed to be for Halloween, and I did start working on it on Oct but some things happened to me so I had to take a step back for a while but I’m ok now and am present here! But hey, it isn’t Chinese New Year yet but 2025 is the year of the snake so posting it this year is kinda fitting, no? 🫢 I had no intention of going back on my word on finishing all the MCtober prompts no matter how long it takes (bcs the prompts are fun!) but I’ll take my sweet time and if I had ideas outside of the prompts I might work on those first before going back on track.

I just wanna say that I’m very grateful to be in this fandom, it let me rediscover the joy of drawing for myself again after years of not doing it consistently (I was mostly drawing for work.) I’ve been loving everyone I got to meet and make HL friends with so far.. love u guys 🫶✨Hoping for a year full of love, joy and stability (as stable as it can be) for everyone.

i do a lot of shitting on season 5 for its lack of binary bfs, but the finale is genuinely a cinematic masterpiece- i’m obsessed with just how MUCH is going on. we’ve got, ALL IN ONE NIGHT, mike barnes limo hijacking plot, chozen drunkenly confessing his love to kumiko and then IMMEDIATELY bleeding out dramatically on the steps of terry silver’s swimming pool, johnny cutting someone’s fucking fingers off, daniel trying to fist fight a gang of rednecks to steal their truck, stingray driving daniel and the moms around in the cobra mobile while wearing sunglasses at night, sam saving tory while miguel saves robby WHILE THE BINARY BFS HAVE THEIR FUCKING “AAAAAND WE’RE IN” PLOT, demetri finally beating the shit out of kyler, mitch betraying his friends because he was bored i guess, daniel using his signature kick to literally destroy terry silver, MIKE STEALING A REMBRANDT, and all of the couples getting back together cutely while the binary bfs officially adopt anthony

sam and kreese being the two characters that end up mentally manifesting their "true enemy" (tory, terry) in their head via a dark hallucination in which their true enemy points out their real flaws, tell them how it really is to their face, and says something really gay to them (i know exactly who you are, princess) (you're my weakness, johnny, but i'm not yours), and then they have a sick fight scene with the part of themselves they believe is their weakness. the feminism is strong with this show
