HELENA SCAMANDER is TWENTY-NINE years old. She attended HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY where she was a HUFFLEPUFF. As of now she is NEUTRAL but is in support of the Order of the Phoenix. HELENA is TAKEN.

The middle child syndrome isn’t as applicable when you’re the only daughter. Sandwiched between two brothers, in birth order and in every family photo, Helena Scamander never actually felt like she had to fight for attention. She could be a princess if she wanted, but that meant she had to act like one too. A real princess, not those spoiled brats on TV. She learned to be kind from her father. She learned to be generous from her mother. She learned patience and consideration for others from her older brother. Most of all she learned to fight for what she believed in from her little brother. Horatio had been born with trisomy 21. Though he was loved deeply by his immediate family, there was still cruelty in the world. Helena and Humphrey spent most of their childhoods looking out for him.

There were many things about Helena that ran true to her family name. She was sorted into Hufflepuff like her forefathers. She was a skilled witch but had a penchant for magizoology, growing into an obsession as her years at Hogwarts progressed. There were things about her that were different though. How she felt about girls the way they felt about guys. How disinterested she was in working for the ministry. How she dressed. All of these things set her apart, made her different. She didn't mind being different as long as she was herself and that’s what she always wanted for everyone else. For them to be themselves, not afraid to be different, not oppressed by fear or hatred. In the early days of the war, she thought she understood why people followed Voldemort but Helena found herself horrified when violence broke out.

Kindness was the answer. Hope was the answer. Couldn’t people see that? As time marched on, Helena withdrew more from the wide world. The rotation of part time jobs she usually worked to support herself and the animals she rescued were all given up to spend time at home with her family and those animals. She found comfort and security in caring for them and soon enough the plot of land her parents had given her was housing dozens of stray creatures. Necessity was the mother of invention and Helena set about turning her property into a proper sanctuary. She lives modestly herself now, in a small cottage at the back of the plot. Most of the money she makes from ticket sales and donations to the sanctuary go right back into helping the animals. Two other zookeepers, Horatio and unpaid interns keep the place going.

It’s hard a lot of the time and she gets lonely on occasion but her priority is the sanctuary. She’s created her own corner of paradise, a place of hope and smiling faces. Somewhere people can escape from their troubles to a surreal, beautiful adventure; where she is still a princess upholding the rights of kindness, generosity and most of all hope. It’s a place where people appreciate her brother. A place where they can see beautiful animals and be inspired to protect them as well. Although she’s been able to keep out of the war, pressure seems to be rising. Helena doesn’t know what to think anymore, she supports the order but has no desire to fight. No one wins a war after all. She wants to keep her animals safe. She just can’t help but feel like she has to make a choice and it is the last thing she wants to do.

here i present another Flaming Rose deranged lad, my brand new oc: Albrecht

(I picked up this name bc we already have some great canon names referencing Teutons, but not one refs my dude Al Hohenzollern?? ok Reds)

age: however old i think Roderick is today, but it's always younger than Adda

double bastard, his noble parents were married just not to each other, so Al was like a hot potato, passed around by both families, no one knowing what to do with him

he did a few semesters in Ban Ard, didn't like it that much, no 'innate magical talent' or whatever but boy can operate megascope like a pro

first one to point out that Flaming Rose is not a very straight name for boys only club

good with crossbows, owns zerrikanian made heavy repeating crossbow

after ban ard he didn't want to be a lawyer, he was looking into the priesthood as an easy way of not doing shit and having a nice life, but JdA recruited him with the promise of exactly that (but obviously it was a scam)

Albrecht actually likes being in the Order, something about feeling like a part of a community/team, and also, well, JdA is there

his relationship with Jacques is not as weird as Rod's or Siegfried's, but he does find the Grandmaster fascinating, it's like watching the wildest spectacle, being part of all of this, nothing should work, and yet JdA somehow makes it work, he's crazy, he's brilliant, he's messiah, he's delusional, he's a saint and a drug lord, anyone would want first row seats for whatever the fuck is it

Albrecht is somewhat useful when dealing with Salamandra mages and scholars, because Rod has no patience and Ulrich speaks only criminal

he isn't religious but gets why the Order has to join Church, structured religion is more profitable, especially when it's also part of the Syndicate, also aesthetics slaps and yeah, he has no problems with putting on priest clothes and making a spectacle in the temple, it's all just part of that whole grand operation

he stayed in Order after they swore loyalty to Radovid V and moved to Barienmurg with Siegfried

there he also proposed the creation of the Order's Supreme Council in which he eventually become a prominent member

1. Doodles of myself, I’m always figuring out new and better ways of cartoonifying myself. Also my old ponysona, because watching the new MLP movie got me feeling nostalgic

2. Watching season 4 of Miraculous and seeing the space power ups in action got me thinking about my miracusona, Salamandra, so I did her space suit power up

3. Vulpecula doodles, also my idea of her mom’s appearance since she is sort of an immortal fairy

4. The trio of superhero self insert OCs together again, this time in civilian attire

5. Was thinking about the Disney Epcot characters of Dreamfinder and Figment, and I thought about if I were Dreamfinder’s successor. Instead of his old title I’d go by Concept Crafter and my dragon companion, a stand in for Figment, would be named Fable, and she’d be much more timid than the bombastic Figment

6. Some LoZ OCs, Nimze the artificial sword spirit and Orune the unassuming Zora who wields her sword. I love this duo and I wish I could come up with more to write about their adventures in Hyrule!

7. Witcher Season 2 got to me and I fell in love with Jaskier all over again. This is some self indulgent fluff with Jaskier and my mage OC who tends a library instead of advising a kingdom like most other mages.

8. Mystechs randomness. Just recently listened to Mr. Roboto by Styx for the first time and it fit weirdly well with my backstory for Starburst, so I imagined Poltergeist finding the song and using it to poke fun at her teammate and bff

9. Doodles of my OCs for a game idea I had that also tied into the worldbuilding of my Mystechs story and Witchsona story, it all takes place in the same world, just the game takes place in the ancient past. It follows a shapeshifter fae related to the modern Púca species, and her name is Dapple. She’s pursued by a nature spirit who takes on the appearance of a mushroom, and this little doodle isn’t the time or place for explaining the game’s whole story.

based her palisman loosely off the european fire newt, salamandra salamandra (hence the name mandy :3)

has always wanted to care for creatures and teach people about them!

however magical creatures are 817x rowdier than human world animals so they’re just. a lot. she’s seen shit lol

has been bitten/stung/kicked by like every creature imaginable. the most memorable one is this thing that has constantly replaceable teeth that will detach in a bite and like curl up so they can’t be removed easily. one nipped her in the ear and she just kept it as a metal af earring

gets easily frantic in class because students during labs? always needing to be rescued from giant venomous jaws or something

every time you walk by her classroom you are bound to hear her shouting at some lab creature to release a student so people are kind of intimidated of her, but her students vouch that she’s like the coolest person alive and always makes time for office hours and such

definitely dishes out tough love to creatures and students when necessary, but is gentle most of the time and loves the juvenile/hatchling rearing unit
