Let's Fix Tumblr - Round 5

The way this is supposed to work is the option(s) with the least number of votes will be eliminated in the next round in a new poll each month.

Tumblr recently revamped search (I think?) so I have removed that option.

Put aside feelings for your favorites or least favorites: lets be real right now! These guys all have enormous problems and would be terrible to have as coworkers really. But surely there's at least one unit who'd be the most bearable, right?

So why not find out with an elimination poll! Last unit standing with be noted as the best (tm). Shuffles and Temporary units will be included too!

Since the two of them scored the same number of votes in the elimination polls, tying them for third place, they're gonna have to go into a one-on-one showdown! This poll will also run for 24 hours, so make sure to vote and share!

Naomi Nagata, The Expanse: There is nothing that this woman can't build, fix, or frankenstein. Also, she survived being thrown out of an airlock by knowing (better than the person who threw her out) what to do in the vacuum of space. She fights with all that she has, and leaves no one behind, and has the biggest heart and heaviest conscience of them all.

Vala Mal Doran, Stargate: Best thief in two galaxies? No in all seriousness people treat her like a joke but that’s how she protects herself. She was taken as a goa’uld host, forced to live with that trauma and rather than lying down she forged a life for herself which included saving the Galaxy a few times. Smart, good at reading people, good at adapting accordingly. She can fight, she can use and modify alien tech. More street smarts than book smarts but when people underestimate her she uses that too.

A young rose-turned-human thanks to a science experiment that got out of hand. He loves to learn, sing, dance, and make friends! She's very sleepy when inside, but in the sun, they're at their full potential, running and playing at full capacity for hours until the night comes. They also have a passion for romance and sometimes play "matchmaker" around campus whenever he's bored.

One of the more mysterious students of the school, though being a Diasomnia student (and supposedly Crowley's son at that), it's hardly too surprising. They're incredibly vain, being fidgety but remarkably confident in their abilities and appearance. He often only associates himself with those he deems pretty enough, though no one really knows what the standard is set at.

Sudden Death Announcement: Hugo Showdown

You all have really been showing up for these polls, even pre-stealing in Round 0! We've already seen amazing callbacks to existing work, excellent rationalizing of otherwise unusual ships, and even original work after not even 36 hours. Incredible work.

The mods have noticed that Victor Hugo, icon and legend that he is, appears to be dominating most of his polls. This should come as no surprise, as our good teacher is famously handsome, wise, intelligent, and full of wit; however, as is also in keeping with his character, his presence in the polls appears to be overwhelmingly drowning out other worthy ships' voices.

As a corrective to this (much like the cat to the mouse), we will be hosting a 24-hour Hugo Only elimination poll.

All of the ships containing Victor Hugo in Round 0 will be put into a single poll. The winner of this poll will be determined to be the winner of his Round 0 poll and will move on to Round 1; in cases where the Hugo option won his original poll but lost the elimination poll, second place from that poll will go on to Round 1 (for example, if Hugo/his opinions won Round 0 Poll #12 but lost the Hugo Only elimination poll, then whichever ship in Poll #12 had been in second place will advance).

This poll will take place in the final 24 hours of Round 0 Sudden Death polls, opening 15 April at 17.00UTC and closing 16 April at 17.00UTC. This is to assure that anyone who already voted for Hugo in their respective poll doesn't have their vote invalidated before the polling window closes while also keeping our timeline moving along.

Aquarius Bey vs. Mariano Incubo

Aquarius Bey (he/him)

A classmate of Azul, Jade, and Floyd back in middle school, now attending RSA. He signed one of Azul's first contracts (which was horrifically botched) and also one of his latest (which was thankfully not). He's very shy and doesn't speak to others much, but works as a singer at the Mostro Lounge in his free time.

Mariano Incubo (he/she)

Mariano is a gentle giant, albeit a lonely one. She appears ominous and foreboding, and combined with his towering height and shaky, haunting voice, it isn't surprising that many people are afraid of her. Octavinelle is his third dorm transfer, having left his previous ones out of worry for scaring his classmates. She spends her time wandering the woods behind the school to soothe her anxieties.

We all knew it was gonna come to this. The top-seeded, objectively best (according to IMDb and the Hugo Awards, at least) Star Trek episode vs the Tumblr darling that literally has a day dedicated to celebrating it. I genuinely do not know which one will win this round. Hell, I don’t even know which way I’m going to vote as I’m writing this paragraph.

Do I even need to write a description? We all know these two. We all love these two. But we’re going to have to choose: City on the Edge of Forever or Amok Time?
