(2018) Super sleepy today, so here's an old Sailor Moon. I draw Usagi maybe once a year and color her every couple years. I can never quite get the scouts to look exactly how I want, which sucks considering Sailor Moon was my first introduction to anime at a young age!!

Sailor Melody has arrived!

Thank you Drachea Rannak for fulfilling a nearly 20-year-old dream!

Years ago, when I was around 11 years old, I first discovered the Sailor Scout Maker on Doll Divine. After having been a Sailor Moon fan for as long as I could remember, I was finally able to make myself into a Sailor Scout. The art for the game was so beautiful that I promised myself that I would, one day, see about commissioning Drachea for a formal image of Sailor Melody.

She's gone through many outfit and back story changes over the years. But 1 thing has remained the same since I first made her up when I was just a little girl playing in my backyard. She is me. She is the version of me with a better life and the powers I've always wished to have. The princess of her own planet who stands up for justice, fights evil, and falls in love. This is her final design.

I'm currently 29 years old, have adult responsibilities, and am even getting married in a little over a year... But, out of all of my childhood whims and desires, Sailor Melody, and my promise to have Drachea draw her have never left me. I am aware of the basic fact that I am no longer the little girl playing in her backyard or the girl who spent most of high school staring out of windows while dreaming of the faraway planet Melody and being its protector...

But, especially in times like these, we should all find ways to fulfill our childhood dreams, right?

While this isn't the first piece, I've gotten from Drachea, and I certainly hope it won't be the last, it is definitely one of the most meaningful. As it fulfills a nearly 20-year-old dream. I am now able to look back at my childhood self and tell her, "Yes, I did get that. And it's more amazing than you could ever dream of.

Also thank you to the wonderful AdorkaStock for the pose reference, been loving your work for so long now ^u^ So...don't ask why my brain wanted me to draw this, does it want to draw the other scouts as pokemon? Not really because when I tried to figure ideas out my brain kinda went Σ(‘◉⌓◉’) uuuuhhhhh, Like the only other scout I could easily pair up was Saturn and Absol, both being harbingers of doom or misfortune or what ever. ANYWAY I know others out there have done it and I think like Clefairy and clefable makes a lot of since due to the moon connection. And I thinks some did Gardivor with like the princess mode being her mega form...I think...or I dreamed that...someone else can draw that. I just really chose Lopunny because Usagi means Rabbit and Rabbit of the moon jokes. The Rabbit on the Moon makes rice cakes U(⁎˃ᆺ˂)U Again don't expect like a series from this, I just wanted to have some fun ／(^ x ^)＼
