Here’s a little information on Extra Life and why we are fundraising again for them this year.

What does Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals do?

Every day, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treat:

235 kids for diabetes

295 babies in neonatal intensive care units

2,128 kids for cancer

2,329 kids for surgeries

16,200 kids with trauma

Each year, 10 million kids enter member hospitals of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for care. The money raised goes directly to the hospital to:

Fund critical treatments and pediatric medical equipment

Make sure the hospitals can provide charitable care to those in need

Help cover specialized services not covered by insurance

Extra Life Charity 24-Hour Marathon Stream - Nov 2-3 2024!

Hiya! I’m Roz, aka BlackjackKent, and I am a Twitch variety gaming streamer. For my TENTH YEAR RUNNING, I am fundraising with Extra Life to raise money for Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL.

As part of my fundraising efforts, I’ll be participating in the Game Day events by livestreaming at http://www.twitch.tv/blackjack_kent for 24 hours straight from 12pm, Sat Nov 2 through 11am, Sun Nov 3 (Central Time) (a full 24 hours due to daylight savings time), playing all sorts of games!

As in past years, every $25 you donate allows you to pick a game for one hour of this marathon session, so bring your wackiest and wildest suggestions. In addition to viewer requests, I’ll also be playing Choice Chamber, Jackbox, Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, and various other favorites.

Since this is my tenth anniversary of participating in Extra Life, I will be adding some brand new incentives for donations this year, which I will post further about as the stream draws near.

Izuru and Chiaki - Patience - Danganronpa: Extra Life

It's pretty funny my favourite characterization of Chiaki Nanami is based on a fan fic, but nonetheless, I wanted to dedicate a piece to it. I feel like the writing's greatest success, is the fact that it capitalizes on the entire Hope Vs. Despair dilemma better than the anime by focusing on how Junko's entire philosophy is bunk, and teaching Izuru, and thereby the audience, while reality may be boring, it's the will to live in the face of adversity that makes life interesting; Chiaki's intense desire to stay alive, for the sheer want of enjoying time with her friends, is a deeply relatable one, and perhaps one of the most necessary for humankind. Thus, it makes sense why such a naked display of innocent outpouring to Izuru as she lay bleeding after her 'execution' makes so much sense, at least to me.

Also her death made me sad :(.

Extra Life Game Day Fundraiser 2024
