how did you develop your style / how do you find inspiration to draw / how do you manage your time with personal art?
how did you develop your style?
ooh, these are fun questions! for me, a lot of the style developing i did involved, just kind of looking at the art i like/inspires me and trying to replicate the things i like about them; it won't look like the exact same way as the source material but that's what i feel like makes it my own, you know?
it's difficult for me to pinpoint which things influenced what the way i draw looks like (but only because i'm not good at remembering things) but i'll be honest that a lot of it is usually from like the art from whatever hyperfixation i have right now as well as the fanartists around me!
a current example of that is dungeon meshi, the variety in which the mangaka draws each member of the cast is really pushing me right now to practice and strive for visual diversity when i draw characters
there's also just the question of what do i, specifically, want my art to look like? what am i trying to achieve here? and is the way i'm doing it fun for me?
right now, i love doing lineart, and i love the process of it; i love making things colorful, and i love funky colors, so i'll do those things!
for particular things, like the way i draw features, again, i learn and improve with time and move along with what inspires me. i enjoy being in like the middle of things looking cartoony and realistic, i think it's a fun middle-ground to work with, so that's how i draw :^]
Tumblr media
(also, a lot of my style evolution, besides the part about other stuff influencing me and what do i enjoy doing the most, is also about just getting better at drawing, skill-wise. anyways look at my apollo evolution boy)
how do you find inspiration to draw?
re: current hyperfixation
pftt ok, but most of my inspiration is from the fact that i love something so much i want to make something for it
otherwise, inspiration is actually pretty hard for me to come by these days (but that's bc i'm usually tired and/or too busy to think about drawing lol)
i don't like forcing inspiration, though. i've learned that for me, it's best when i wait for it to hit me in the head and then go into a frenzy trying to accomplish what i came up with lmao
how do you manage your time with personal art?
well, you see, the thing is – i don't, really WHEEZES. time management and self-control are two things i struggle with, so i'm afraid the times where i draw for myself are spontaneous and sporadic

According to NBC here in the US, the missing titanic sub has been found. As debris. Off the bow of the Titanic wreckage.
And it looks like the sub suffered what we all suspected, and what was undoubtedly the more merciful of the two options: a catastrophic implosion from the pressure.
Also, more info has come to light about the fishing trawler with the hundreds of migrants that sank cataclysmically off the coast of Greece, indicating that the greek coast guard knew about the vessel AND how much trouble the vessel was in, and were towing it at a speed that made it capsize, at which point they unhooked the tow line and watched the trawler sink without helping the passengers to safety. Despite a bunch of other ships trying to help as well throughout the whole ordeal.
So a lot of people are dead, all because of regulations (and the lack thereof) regarding sea-faring vessels and rescue protocols. People shouldnt be allowed to make a business charging a ton of money for a ride on an uncertified, unsafe, un-seaworthy ship going deep into the ocean with no distress beacon or tether to the mothership. People also shouldnt be allowed to enact laws that criminalize the ferrying of refugees, which then force the refugees to hitch rides on fishing trawlers, and which also prevent people from helping those fishing trawlers full of refugees due to fear of legal consequences.
Hopefully BOTH of these events spark changes on an international scale in terms of what is legally allowed to be sailed, who is legally allowed to be the passengers, and what the rescue protocols are in the event of disaster for any seafaring vessel, illegal or not. It shouldnt be just the global 1% who get 24/7 search parties and remote-operated submersibles helping rescue them.

oh nothing just thinking about that period between xvii and xviii where flint wakes up alone in a cell, his partner’s blood drying on his face, and realizes with a terrible clarity that nothing will be the same ever again

How long did it take to sail across the Atlantic in the 18th century? (x)
« Usually, the westward passage would go from north Europe to the Trade winds, passing the Canary islands towards the Caribbeans. The eastward passage then would be following the westerlies from Newfoundland to Britain. That is: with the prevailing winds of the North Atlantic Gyre. »
CROSS ATLANTIC TRAVEL
In the ealry 18th century, it took on average six weeks to sail accross the Atlantic. If weather conditions were bad, it could take up to three months.
« In the 18th century, the time it took to sail across the Atlantic Ocean varied depending on several factors, including the type of ship, weather conditions, and the specific route taken. On average, a transatlantic journey could take anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months.
For example:
Merchant ships typically took about 6 to 8 weeks to cross from Europe to North America, particularly from ports like Liverpool to New York.
Passenger ships or larger vessels might take longer, especially if they encountered bad weather or had to navigate around obstacles.
These voyages were highly dependent on wind patterns and the skill of the crew, making each journey somewhat unpredictable. »
WAITING FOR THE WIND
Leaving London and at the american coastline, ships would sit for days to weeks, waiting for better winds.
« Very weather-dependent in “the Age of Sails”, and Franklin crossed from the U.S. to Great Britain in “record time” in 1776, about four weeks. Some ships took up to six weeks, and keep in mind that many ships would sit in the “Downs” where the Thames meets the North Sea, the “Texel” where the harbor of Amsterdam meets the North Sea, and the American coast for days to weeks, waiting for better winds. »
[informations above from contributions on quora]

Transatlantic sailing route (x)
« Heading west a vessel can easily follow the easterly trade-winds. When returning from the Americas to Europe the westerly winds of the North Atlantic depressions are a sure promise for speed. In recent years this route has become well established by sail cargo companies. »
Tumblr media
Sailing routes (found by search, no source available)
GREEN = journey east (from Europe) with the westerlies
RED = journey west (toward Europe) with the trade winds
In the middle is the Sargossa sea, a space prone to doldrums and hurricanes bounded by four currents forming an ocean gyre.
TLDR :
6 to 8 weeks for merchant ships coming from England
Longer for passenger ships
Up to 3 month if they encountered bad weather
Of the initial average, ships sat for days to weeks, waiting for the wind when leaving the Thames or following the american coastline.

Hello Ozzgin,
I hope this message finds you well. As we continue working on the harem story, I realized there are some important details that need to be clarified. Would you mind providing some additional information?
1. What gender do you prefer your character to be portrayed as in the story? (Male, female, both, or neither?)
2. Would you like your character to be depicted as bald and beardless, or do you have specific preferences regarding hair color and length?
3. What type of skin color would you like your character to have? Would you prefer a colorful tone or natural human tone?
4. Do you envision your character as more human-like or monster-like? If the latter, what kind of monster would you like them to be?
5. Are you comfortable with explicit content involving your character? If so, do you have a preference for being dominant, submissive, or a switch in sexual encounters?
6. In non-sexual moments, would you like your character to be portrayed as more dominant or submissive?
7. Is there anything else you would like to add or specific characteristics you want your character to have in the story?
Thank you for your time and assistance with this. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Warm regards,
Unicornymous
You might’ve noticed that the bald man varies from time to time, from joke to joke. That is to say, I have no preference whatsoever! The blob changes according to the context I must offer. Whatever you’d like to depict is entirely up to you, my friend. Let your imagination run wild.
Put it this way, if you will: what is the best way in which an egg should be cooked? Naturally, whichever way you feel like having for breakfast. Thus, you may be freed from the shackles. Or, as Heidegger would say, release yourself from your previous understating of Being.

Don't you think Silver lies so much that he can't separate fact from fiction? Do you think he lies so much his lies become his reality? That in time he truly believes what he tells Madi about Flint's fate?
A story is true, a story is untrue....
