★ The kids' relationships with each other ! ★ (posting these in parts so it's easier to understand!)
(- sibling relationships)
Part two, Cream Vanilla Cookie.
(ALL PLATONIC.)
Cream Vanilla + Golden Saffron
★ Golden Saffron is one of her closest and most trusted friends. She absolutely loves hanging out with him, laughing, or even simply just napping with him. She never does a thing without him or Lava Cake knowing. After all, no one is left behind within the trio. Cream Vanilla often goes on wild adventures with him, more so in the Spice lands when she comes to visit him there. They stop by the Lassi springs, play in it for a while, then run off into who knows where, God bless the fact that Saffron is well respected among the spices.. Lest they try and wander off into dangerous territory. Either way, an adventure with Golden Saffron is worth anything. No matter the outcome, she knows that he will make sure she's safe above all else. That is what she adores.. She hopes he never leaves her side. She hopes that the two people she holds so close to her heart never leave. No matter if she is useless to everyone else, in the end, as long as she has them.. Cream Vanilla is fine with being less, pathetic, and not being nearly as well beloved as her family. She is fine with being different and insignificant compared to them. All because she has her friends.. Cream Vanilla doesn't want to see them worry, thrown into despair all because of her, she only wants to keep them safe and happy. She is already a burden to herself and to her kingdom. The least she can do is pretend she's okay with it so that those two do not worry about her, do not exhaust themselves trying to prove to her that she is worthy. Because it's all futile in the end, she knows the voices in her head are getting louder every day, painful reminders of what she can not be.. She only hopes that her friends understand the actions she takes to protect, if not herself, them from the harsh truth of this world. Later on, she wonders if Golden Saffron understands why she became this way. She sees the hurt in his eyes when they finally reunite. Does he still care for her? Maybe he cared for the Cream Vanilla he knows, but who she is now as a woman is changed, long gone, though.. if he wishes to accept her, then so be it. She will always gladly take another knight, the more hands the merrier. But if he still wishes to be stubborn, she will laugh in his face.. Be it by her hand, she will eliminate the threat that he is to her perfect world of lies, no matter if the truth in her screams at her, not to hurt him.. She does not feel guilt.. right? Oh, but she does. When she's finally come to her, sense, perspective changed and brought back to live a better life in the palace. She can only hope he's there waiting for her at the other side. So she can join him once again and walk the path of self-actualization hand in hand.
★ Golden Saffron absolutely wholeheartedly believes that Cream Vanilla and Lava Cake are his best friends until the end of time. He met Cream Vanilla through Pepperjack, and ever since, he has been her best friend. He isn't the smartest tool in the shed when it comes to more sophisticated topics, he's street smart through and through, so he often reminds her how incredible she is for being able to use magic so easily.. It's not something a lot of children their age can master, and it's not even that he's saying it out of pity for her.. No, like, her abilities are actually IMPRESSIVE to him. Not only do they look beautiful, but they also do cool things. He finds a lot about her wonderful, her sense of humor, her tendency to drag both him and Lava Cake out to go re-enact silly old plays together from ancient earthbread history.. It's all blissful memories for the most part. Children being children, all of that childhood innocence and whatnot. He and her have this special place together, only reserved for the two of them, it's deep within the Spice lands and it's a cave. It is filled with charcoal drawings, depicting both Cream and Saffron as heroes together. This is where they usually brainstorm and relax. There's left over cushions, blankets, and small little trinkets within that cave that seem to withstand the test of time. In the future, when the inevitable happens, and he losses both of his closest friends, he will usally be found sat in this cave looking at the drawings silently. The Spices often worry about him, and so do his parents and siblings, but he reassure them that he's fine. He just misses an old friend.. One that had so much potential to grow up alongside him. But she didn't. The guilt of not being able to prevent her from feeling so behind on everything will always eat him from the inside out. He should have tried a little harder, fought a little harder.. So whenever they do find Cream, or when he sets out to find Cream Vanilla to bring her back.. It's no suprise he allows himself to get hurt because he is relentless on this. He can not sit and watch them destroy the world so slowly, and he can not watch the two of his bestfriends loose themselves in this.. fantasy, delusional world of lies they have going on. To his relief, Cream Vanilla comes back into his open arms, sobbing at the feeling of being embraced again. He extends an arm out to Lava, and all is well.. Sure, everything feels a little different, but Saffron pleases to find that the two girls have not changed that much from when they were children. He's at least glad that they now walk the path beside him. Back in his protection and back into his life.
Cream Vanilla + Kofta
★ Cream Vanilla thinks Kofta to be.. Dramatic, but who's to say she doesn't enjoy it too? She's always the most engaged in the little puppet shows Cream Vanilla puts on for her when it's Saffrons turn to watch over his little sister, she also adores the little pretend tea party's they have together. Kofta has such a personality, it's hard to miss her, she knows what she wants, and Cream Vanilla can't help but admire her confidence within herself. She's so young and yet so sure of what she wants to be when she's older.. Cream Vanilla loves to show her the stars. She points out every little constellation, and that's how she likes to bond with Kofta. She'll point out a constellation, ask Kofta what she thinks about it and what she'd name it.. She'd jot down the name, and sometimes, she remembers the names Kofta gives them more often than the constellations' actual names.. It's an endearing thing between the two. Kofta also has a tendency to ask about the meaning behind certain things, and Cream Vanilla is more than ready to welcome her childhood innocence and make up a fairy tale like reason as to how the world works around them. A little white lie, yes, but all in good nature! She wants to protect the innocence of Kofta in a way. Even if it's not for long, she can believe that the world is all sunshine for now. She can believe that there are no people who dare to scorn her for the way she acts.. As long as Cream Vanilla is there to help protect her.
★ Kofta thinks of her as a fun playmate and reliable person to an extent. She enjoys that Cream Vanilla lets her live out her own fantasies and indulges in her ever growing daydreams and other things! She thinks Cream Vanilla is a skilled storyteller, almost on the level that her father is at, and absolutely loves to hear what she has to say. Kofta loves to play dress up with her too-- funnily enough. When she was left alone with both Saffron and Cream, they had the time of their lives dressing him up in princess atire. Golden Cheese wasn't exactly the most pleased after she found her jewles and makeup were tampered with.. But still, a fun nemory for everyone (yes, including Saffron). Most of the memories she has with Cream Vanilla are positive, filled with genuine (?) Laughter and happiness. Though Kofta is not completely blind and naive to the facade Cream Vanilla puts on, how dare you even assume that in the first place! She does notice Cream Vanilla's lack of self-esteem, the little peaks of truth that creep out in every honeyed word that she tells her. She won't say it outloud that she knows about her problems.. But she does like to remind her that she means a lot, both to her and her brother in the end. She, too, is skilled, that she too can be more than what she limits herself to. Kofta believes that praise, especially coming from her, can do good in a cookies life! After all, when she says it, she means it - she doesn't like to lie to cookies about their worth to her. But there's a little part in her that thinks Cream Vanilla doesn't really think that praise to heart as much as she appears to..
Cream Vanilla + Pepperjack
★ Cream Vanilla enjoys the little time she manages to spend with him! It's not a lot, but most of the time, it is good. Whenever she tags along with her brother to go places, almost 100% of the time, Pepperjack is there. Although they do not speak a lot.. She holds a fondness for him because he is important to two very important people in her life, so she's bound to have a good impression of him. He also almost always drags her along flying with him too, since she can float as well! It's super fun helping him drag along Yogurt (much to Yogurts dismay). He also likes to include her in plans, especially battle ones, even if it isn't nessecary. Never once is she left out of stuff if he's around. Giving her little tasks if it's a major issue the kingdom's are dealing with, sometimes larger and more important things. It helps with Cream Vanilla's self-esteem a little, and he knows that very well. She appreciates it. It's like an unspoken thing between them.. He also appreciates her being there for Golden Saffron, because he, like Frozen Yogurt, has a hard time connecting with his younger brother on certain occasions, and he always makes sure to tell Cream Vanilla that. Small but subtle reminders.. She thinks of him, only because of Saffron during her adult years.. Still, she wonders how he feels about her now that she's casted away his younger brother from her side. It's a question she fears she'll never have a proper answer too.. Just like everything in this life, nothing ever has a proper answer.
★ Pepperjack thinks she's a good kid. She was well raised, well-mannered, and still willing to be a child with his younger brother.. Something he admires well. But he's also observant and finds that the life she leads isn't fulfilling here, that the balance that she needs isn't there. So he tries his best to help and shows her that she is worth more than anyone has ever bargained for, even if he can not do much for her. He will try. Because she is important to his younger brother in the end, and important to Frozen Yogurt as well. Pepperjack also admires how she never fails to give it her all.. She's always engaged in the situation and never once strays from it. She's a good listener and conversationalist, oddly enough.. She's good with her words. It's almost too good. Pepperjack notices how she can say the right words at the right time.. and she never fails to bring someone's mood up. He wonders if she can reassure herself in the same way she reassures everyone else. Does she treat herself the way she does everyone else..? Or is there something else?
Cream Vanilla + Nodding Lily
★ Cream Vanilla loves to hang out with Nodding Lily! Her company, her art.. It's so easy to hang around her that Cream Vanilla just pops in once in a while when Frozen Yogurt is hanging out with her, too. She does assist Cream Vanilla with the imagery in the things she writes and makes oil paintings that are inspired by the poems Cream Vanilla makes and proudly shows to her! It's how they bond best, and it reassures Cream Vanilla with her writing skills. Maybe that's one of the things she's somewhat good at.. right? If Nodding Lily thinks so, then she will as well! She will look to her for reassurance in her craft, and Nodding Lily is more than happy to provide her the validation and self-love she needs.. But still, it doesn't really change Cream Vanilla's perspective on herself entirely. But it's okay. She'll just laugh it off like she does all the time and assist her.. She definitely is hurt by the fact that she passes away too. What hurts even more is that no one dared to even inform her.. She found out through an angsty talk with Golden Saffron. She was heartbroken.. But she will pick up the pieces she left behind and try to make sense of her thousands upon thousands of sketchbooks, drawings left unfinished to write a story about her, honoring her.. And to immortalize it forever in her mind, and in the records of Earthbread. She will water the flowers at her grave and talk to her as if she was still there..
★ Nodding Lily adores Cream Vanilla. Their both artists in their own way, and she finds her passion to be something admirable. She wants her to keep her head up and never let something bring her down, but there's always that feeling that settles in her stomach that tells her.. Maybe she's really just pretending for the sake of not worrying anyone.. Nodding watches as she pretends to be okay when she's really not. So she tries to reassure her that maybe there is something worth in all this effort she puts in. She tells her and all of her other friends that she wants to be immortalized. Because she's scared of being forgotten in a way, she wants to leave a good impact on this world, and she thinks Cream Vanilla wants to as well. She tells her that she can, and that she will, makes her think she has a bright future because Nodding Lily really does believe that she has a chance at a good life ahead of her. But she is too late to see it, too late to even know what grief she leaves earthbread in as soon as she closes her eyes, breathes in that last breath as her mother holds her.. She can only hope within her last moments that she made somewhat of an impact on that little girls life. Sparked the creativity she needed to be led down the right path in the end.
Cream Vanilla + Choco Oat
★ Cream Vanilla loves the things she makes her! She wears that coat she's weaved just for her every time she visits nowadays. They aren't as close as everyone else is, but she does like to help her work with weaving. Choco Oat even teaches her how to make her own scarves and helps with cleaning up her handwriting. She even picks up little bits of Korean from here from how often she'll murmur it to herself. Sometimes, Cream Vanilla catches her in coversation with her father in a much more serious light. Murmurrings of Korean and mentions of battle plans are passed around between the two of them, so its no suprise Cream Vanilla unintentionally picks up on a few battle tactics, too. Everything she's learned from Choco Oat will help her as she grows older.. Even if it was unintentional, it still makes a somewhat lasting impact on allowing her to be smarter, more charismatic, and everything in between. It's not often you learn so much about someone just by observing them.. Not that she does that all the time. It's just a habit she's grown over the years. Moving on, Cream Vanilla also loves to play in the snow with her, and sometimes Choco Oat will bring out the newly born Cream wolf pups for her to play with, which she appreciates She'll listen to Choco Oat explain who the pups are, which pair of wolves they came from, and what might be possibly wrong with them. These two share a love for animals, and it shows through how much time seems to pass while Choco Oat babysits her.. Cream Vanilla appreciates the help and company she gave her, but she won't be needing the company anymore. The teachings however? Are useful to her in the end.
★ Choco Oat thinks of her as a little weird, maybe a little too observant of a child, but still a nice girl at the end of the day. She's often babysitting her due to how close both Dark Cacao and Pure Vanilla seem to be. Not that she minds babysitting Cream Vanilla in any way, no, she infact sort of enjoys it. She's never had the chance to care for a younger sibling, so she tries to learn through Cream Vanilla in a way. She teaches her all the small things she knows, helps her grow as a person, and even shares some of her interests with her. Choco Oat also finds her little ramblings, the handmade crafts she gives out to be charming. She has a paper crane that Cream Vanilla made on her desk that still stands till this day. It's next to other things that were given to her throughout her life. She's impressed with how smart the girl is for her age and loses to her quite a bit when playing chess. Maybe she should have considered the fact that she IS the child of what was once the fount of knowledge. Of course, he's taught her the proper chess moves, the fastest strategies to a checkmate, and what not. To Choco Oat, she prays that these small victories are enough to reassure this girl that she is something. She sees that look in her eyes, that emptiness behind that laugh. She too has felt like she wasn't ever enough for her kingdom. But someone as young as her should never have to shoulder that burden, but there isn't a lot Choco Oat can do for her. So she will do this instead to try and help her in the end.
Cream Vanilla + Candied Berry
★ Cream Vanilla loves to party with her! She loves to dress up with her, do all sorts of fun and adventurous things when they can! She genuinely enjoys socializing at the banquets, which Candied Berry hosts and the two sort of share that same love for fun. Cream Vanilla loves to go out and adventure with her through the Berry Jungle, and even writes stories based on the adventures Candied Berry takes her on! Her favorite one was where they got off onto a ship, and Candied Berry took her for a tour around the Tropical Soda islands. The fishes she saw.. and that strange, frozen tower that stands near where the moon rises.. How peculiar. She'll have to ask her dear father about that one soon. Never mind that, Candied Berry takes her to see the world around her. And that's what Cream Vanilla loves about the time she spends with Candied Berry. There's always something new with her, never the same every time Candied takes her somewhere. Whether that would be alone or with someone else. Thanks to her, Cream Vanilla can be considered well traveled.. and she knows earthbread well enough because of it. She just hopes that traveling will get her to forget about the lack of fulfillment she has deep within her about herself.. She's never quite understood it herself, but it's always so persistent..
★ Candied Berry loves that little bugger! It's always a joy to have her close by. Cream Vanilla is always the most eager to go on an adventure with her, and who is Candied Berry to say no to that enthusiasm? She'll gladly take her to the ends of earthbread and back if that means she kept the passion in her eyes. The stories and poems she writes about their travels are something Candied Berry cherishes. Sometimes, she'll even tell the stories herself and read out the poems at parties. She thinks Cream Vanilla is an extremely talented writer and prays that she never loses that passion deep down within her. Hopefully, nothing ever will stop her, and if she can prevent it, she will! After all, it's her job to look out for the younger ones of this world. Teach her and the rest of them how to live a life of bravery. If she doesn't, Cream Vanilla will never learn how to face her inner problems with confidence. And for Candied Berrry? She finds that lesson to be so important because she's been through the same thing too, and she knows how hard it can be to.. Be proud of who you are in the end.
Cream Vanilla + Sugared Berry
★ Cream Vanilla and him are very much intune with one another. She helps him find inspiration for his music and writes him poems that (with her permission) get turned into songs. Some of his best songs are inspired by her writing, and she takes pride in that. They're often found having picnics in the royal garden together, talking about who knows what endlessly. Cream Vanilla also learns how to be more of a smooth talker from him because he is just as charismatic as she is, and just by listening to him talk to others alone.. It really does help her find a better way with words. No wonder so many people look to him for love advice. He knows what to say to charm people! It's so fascinating to her, really, and one day, she hopes to be just as good as he is with her words! Him and her often go about the Hollyberian gardens, and she notices the look he gives that oddly quiet gardener. Was it love, too? I mean, from the little she knows, that gardeners the daughter of that famous knight and that tango dancer. Not that it mattered to her. Maybe she could help him write a poem about her, push him in a direction of love for once! Still, she hates to assume something as big as that and doesn't want to ruin the good, positive relationship between the two of them. But let it be known that Cream Vanilla will always have an ear open and a hand ready to write down what he has in mind! Although part of her hopes, her assumption is correct. She is a huge shipper, if not even bigger than Sugared, is himself deep down. Cream Vanills longs for that kind of love too someday, but that is for her future to worry about, for now.. she just has to figure out to find love within herself, figure out how to accept herself as she is. It's getting harder and harder every day, though.. and it's not long until she finally gives through.
★ Oh? That little girl? Yeah, he finds her company to be just absolutely delightful! He thanks her for the amount of inspiration she gives him and believes her mind to be wonderous. Her dreams are worth writing millions of odes about, and let's not forget her passion, too! Sugared Berry wants to nuture her love for the arts, and he'll take her around walks down the town square to better inspire her. I mean, that's what helps him, it should do her some good too! He also loves her care for the animals. When they're not in the square, they're taking a ride on the back of that little pinkish-flower dragon that seems to hang around from time to time. It's not like a huge adventure, just a peaceful flight over the kingdom. And they can spend hours upon hours just talking up there. Sugared notices the little bits and pieces of her true nature fall through, and can't help but be concerned for her own sake. He knows that she's jealous of her brother to an extent and understands it.. He, too, is envious of Candied Berry's ability to be so brave in the face of everything, but still.. It seems far deeper than just envy, and Sugared wants to help her with it. But she refuses to tell him the truth, and he will just have to live with knowing that suspicion. No matter how many times he tries to indirectly reference it, she turns away the topic and changes it quickly. He's quick to understand that she's doesn't wanna talk about it, at least with him.. How strange that a girl that has so much love to give to others has rarely any left for herself? What a contradicting thing, really. It's almost ironic to Sugared how little she cares about her self-esteem..

Koolfi Creamery, 599 MacArthur, San Leandro, CA 94577
Tumblr media
Koolfi Creamery was inspired by Indian flavors, but the chief ice cream engineer is also inspired by other global flavors as well. The ice creams are made in house with organic milk or coconut milk (for non-dairy flavors). Choose from scoops, sundaes, floats, and affogatos. There’s also a savory menu of Indian style toasts and samosas and pies on the weekends. And they have hot beverages.
The ice cream flavors are interesting and complex (e.g., jackfruit & coconut, guava with chili, garam masala peach, mango lassi. However, you’re limited to two samples, so I didn’t get to try too many flavors. Also, I was trying to decide on what flavors to sample and she suggested one and gave me a sample before I asked for it – mmm, it was a flavor that I would not have selected – the spicy guava. I don’t really like guava. It was fine but rather sweet.
Gulab jamun sundae ($11.95): two warm gulab jamuns, one scoop of ice cream, pistachios, rose petals. I knew I had to get this because I do love gulab jamuns. It was really good, quite sweet but very Indian dessert-like. I chose the koolfi ice cream which had a strong cardamom/saffron flavor and crushed pistachios adding texture. The gulab jamun were soft and warm. My only gripe is that the scoop of ice cream was small (smaller than usual) and melted quickly. Are all the scoops smaller than average?
Samosas (2 for $6): on the smaller side, crispy shell that wasn’t oily, stuffed with mashed potatoes, peas, and spices. Very tasty, maybe a touch on the saltier side.
The shop is bright and cute with an outdoor patio. The credit card minimum is $10. They also sell prepacked pints.
4 out of 5 stars.

The Rajmahal: Kinross’s Go-To for Authentic Indian Flavours
Tumblr media
Craving the crackle of cumin seeds in hot ghee or the velvety swirl of cream in a curry? At The Raj Mahal Indian, Kinross’s beloved nearby Indian restaurant, every dish is a love letter to flavour. Imagine golden turmeric-laced dhal, tandoori-fired naans puffed like clouds, and biryanis layered with saffron-kissed basmati. This isn’t just a meal—it’s a passport to Mumbai’s bustling lanes or Punjab’s rustic kitchens, all without leaving Scotland.
Layers, Not Just Heat
Forget one-dimensional spice bombs. The Raj Mahal Indian crafts dishes where flavours pirouette: tangy tamarind cuts through creamy korma, while fenugreek’s earthiness anchors coconut-laced prawn curries. Their paneer tikka masala—charred cheese in a smoky tomato embrace—has locals hooked, and the dal makhani, slow-cooked until luxuriously silken, feels like a hug from within. It’s a reminder that Indian cuisine thrives on balance, not just bravado.
Convenience Meets Craving
Why trek across town when Kinross’s nearby Indian restaurant delivers joy to your doorstep? Post-work butter chicken cravings? Sorted. A spontaneous feast of garlic-laden spinach saag and pillowy garlic naan? The Raj Mahal’s menu turns whims into wins. Their takeaway biryanis, fragrant with cloves and caramelised onions, are weekend saviours, and the samosas? Crisp, spiced, and dangerously moreish.
Ambience with Soul
Dine in, and the vibe wraps you like a Kashmiri shawl. Warm terracotta walls hum with chatter, while Bollywood classics flirt with the clatter of copperware. Regulars are greeted with knowing smiles, and chefs occasionally emerge, wielding stories of family recipes passed through generations. It’s this mix of flair and familiarity that transforms a dinner into an experience.
Your Invitation to Feast
Skip the predictable. Let The Raj Mahal Indian reignite your palate. Dive into their fiery lamb vindaloo, cool it with a sweet-sour mango lassi, or end on a high with gulab jamun—syrup-soaked dumplings that melt on the tongue. Whether you’re a heat seeker or a butter-chicken loyalist, this nearby Indian restaurant proves that adventure is always on the menu. After all, why settle for bland when spice is just around the corner?

A Memorable Stay at Hotel Vedangam: Exploring Varanasi's Culinary Delights and Sacred Sites
Varanasi, the spiritual heart of India, has always been a destination I've yearned to explore. A city that breathes history, chants in devotion, and tantalizes taste buds with its rich cuisine, it holds an almost mythical allure for travelers seeking a mix of culture, spirituality, and gastronomy. Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Vedangam nestled in the historic Bhelupur area. More than just a place to rest, this hotel became my gateway to an immersive experience in the timeless city of Varanasi.

A Warm Welcome at Hotel Vedangam
Upon arrival, I was immediately enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality. The check-in process was seamless; I was welcomed with a traditional tilak and a cooling drink, an apt relief from the bustling city outside. The lobby exuded a sense of tranquility with its soft lighting and tasteful decor, blending traditional aesthetics with modern comfort.
My room was a sanctuary in itself—spacious, spotless, and exuding understated elegance. Plush bedding, a well-equipped workspace, and a stunning view of the city’s rooftops and temple spires made it the perfect retreat. The complimentary high-speed WiFi and in-room amenities added to my convenience, but what truly made the stay memorable was the personalized attention from the staff. They were ever-ready with local tips, ensuring that I made the most of my time in Varanasi.

Culinary Adventures in Varanasi
A city as old as time itself, Varanasi is renowned not just for its ghats and temples but also for its unparalleled street food. I had been forewarned—Varanasi’s culinary landscape is a labyrinth of flavors, and one visit is never enough to explore it all. With recommendations from the hotel's reception, I set out to indulge in a food trail that would leave me yearning for more.
Kashi Chat Bhandar: A Burst of Flavors
My first stop was Kashi Chat Bhandar , located just 1.7 kilometers from the hotel. A paradise for chaat lovers, this humble eatery serves up an explosion of flavors in every bite. I tried their famous tamatar chaat—a tangy, spicy, and slightly sweet concoction that left my taste buds tingling. The bhalle papdi, crispy and generously topped with chutneys, was equally divine.

Blue Lassi Shop: A Sip of Tradition
No trip to Varanasi is complete without a visit to the iconic Blue Lassi Shop near Vishwanath Ji Chowk, about 2.3 kilometers from Hotel Vedangam. This century-old establishment is renowned for its handcrafted lassis, served in traditional earthenware cups. I opted for a saffron-laced lassi topped with fresh pomegranate and nuts. The thick, creamy texture and the rich blend of flavors were nothing short of divine. Sipping my lassi while observing the bustling street life was a moment of pure bliss.

Ram Bhandar: A Breakfast Feast
For a quintessential Banarasi breakfast, I headed to Ram Bhandar in Thatheri Bazaar, 2.6 kilometers from the hotel. Their legendary poori sabji—piping hot, fluffy pooris paired with a spicy, flavorful sabji—was an absolute delight. The experience was elevated by the sweet and crispy jalebis that followed, glistening with syrup and melting in my mouth with every bite.

Lakshmi Chai Wala: Tea, the Banarasi Way
Varanasi runs on chai, and no one does it better than Lakshmi Chai Wala, near Vishwanath Ji Chowk, about 2.4 kilometers from the hotel. This tiny stall, often surrounded by locals engaged in deep discussions, serves the most aromatic and robust tea. Brewed over a charcoal stove, the chai had a smoky depth, perfectly balanced by the sweetness of jaggery.
Kerala Cafe: South Indian Delights in the North
For dinner, I sought a change of flavors and visited Kerala Cafe, just 300 meters from Hotel Vedangam. This cozy eatery is a haven for lovers of South Indian cuisine. The crisp masala dosa, paired with aromatic sambar and coconut chutney, was both comforting and satisfying.

Raj Bandhu: A Sweet Ending
My final stop on this gastronomic tour was Raj Bandhu, 800 meters from the hotel. Known for its exquisite sweets, this establishment has mastered the art of Indian confections. The peda, a milk-based delicacy, and the rich rabri, thickened and sweetened to perfection, were the perfect finale to my culinary journey.
Exploring the Spiritual Soul of Varanasi
Not only these things make Hotel Vedangam the Best Hotel in Varanasi Uttar Pradesh India, as there are many other things which contribute to this title. Beyond its food, Varanasi is a city of deep spirituality. Hotel Vedangam’s location made it effortless to visit the revered temples and experience the divine aura that permeates this sacred land.
Kedar Ji Temple: An Oasis of Calm
Only 700 meters from the hotel, Kedar Ji Temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Varanasi. The air was filled with the scent of incense and the soothing sounds of bhajans as I entered. The temple’s serene ambiance was perfect for quiet contemplation.
Durga Kund Mandir: The Goddess’ Abode
Located 1.1 kilometers from Hotel Vedangam, Durga Kund Mandir is an architectural marvel. Dedicated to Goddess Durga, the temple stands out with its striking red color. The rhythmic chants of devotees and the sight of diyas floating in the temple pond created a surreal experience.
Tulsi Manas Mandir: A Literary Legacy
A mere kilometer away from the hotel, this temple is a tribute to the poet Tulsidas, who penned the Ramcharitmanas. The walls adorned with verses from the epic added to the spiritual aura, making it a must-visit.
Kashi Vishwanath Temple: The Soul of Varanasi
No visit to Varanasi is complete without darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, just 1.5 kilometers away. Thanks to the hotel’s help in securing a VIP pass, I could bypass long queues and immerse myself in the divinity of this sacred shrine.
Sankat Mochan Temple: Blessings of Hanuman
My final spiritual stop was Sankat Mochan Temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The rhythmic recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa and the serene environment made it a truly enriching visit.
Final Reflections
Hotel Vedangam provided the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and local insight, making my trip to Varanasi unforgettable. As I checked out, I felt deeply enriched—not just by the places I visited or the food I tasted, but by the very essence of Varanasi that had seeped into my soul. If you're seeking an immersive experience in this timeless city, Hotel Vedangam is the place to stay in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India
And thanks a lot Hotel Vedangam for this comfortable and best experience… You truly deserve the title of Best Hotel in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India
