WIP Wednesday

A special day of the week this is! 😆

No worries I actually have like… 👀 three WIPs on display this week?! Nerdie is…concentrating. 🥹

The first one is from my series “The Lake Between Us” chapter six (chapter five will be out Sunday 😆 on my birthday) I also wrote two interludes because 👀 Reasons - I’m trying to structure all the stuff into chapters 7 & 8 because we’re going to end on 8. I like even numbers. 🤭

Another two months of dinners brought the two of them closer together, learning about each other. Studying their bodies and sounds. There were times they parted, back across the lake, but oftentimes the nightly partners remained intertwined among limbs and sheets. Still having a drink before bed but not nearly as many. They were dulling each other's edges, making it easier to slip into their dreams.

There were occasions when they laid awake, wordless as the radiance of the moonlight draped both of their forms; they did wonder if they were awake or asleep. It felt like such a pleasant notion to have someone who understands by your side.

WIP two: There are two things that @wannab-urs has gotten me into, both involve our trash panda Dieter and both are challenges - I think? One at least is. 🤔 The WIP below is from Gin’s ask challenge from the Hozier song “Fare Well.”

Side note: I meant for the beginning of this to be much more serious. It was not. But we’ll get there. Maybe 🫨 Like I’m working toward something, maybe some crawling if I can fit it in. Because… Gin and I agree on it. We touched and agreed on it. 😌

He’s been more careful about it, not something he’s been concerned about prior to his new leaf. In doing so, acts he’d normally attempt weight more heavily on his mind and keep little Dee from swelling when needed. Bravo knows the rumor that might be going around but it’s not true! Since his mind is clearer, he actually thinks about who he’s having sex with more and little D isn’t always on board. You know, one of those words his therapist mentioned – cognitive dissonance except it’s happening with his partner in pleasure little D. Big D when he’s feeling in the mood.

March Prompts will finish Sunday! 😆 I’m happy and sad, I’ve gotten used to writing one daily, now what am I gonna do? 😑

I am still working on my two Din series. I’m trying to be fluffy. Din deserves fluff from me every so often. 🤭

LAST LINE CHALLENGE !!!!

I was tagged by @collophora (thank you btw!!!) and while I haven't been able to write an awful lot because of life stuff (I GOT INTO COLLEGE !!!!! IVE BEEN SO BUSY THESE LAST FEW DAYS/WEEKS AIW AOANOAB)

Anyway!!!! I've got some snippets from TBB and Disco Elysium (which I'm so excited to write about wjaiqnq) so you're getting BOTH !!! :D rant over LETS GO !!

"He's gone because of me, Echo!" Tech's voice was rough as he pushed away. He winced at the stinging tug of his injuries, looking up to see Victor's stricken face, and Echo's pitying frown.

Tech's breath came ragged, harsh as he panted, and they just... watched. He looked away, unable to handle their sad stares any longer. They burned him.

"Crosshair's gone because of me." He repeated coldly, quietly, feeling something inside him tighten and harden. Protective, shielding the pain that threatened to spill with the admittance.

He stood taller, shoving past the two clones to limp towards the cockpit. "They'll regret it," Tech swore, more to himself than them as he pulled his armour back on. "I'll make them regret it."

This is from an upcoming chapter from "The Hecatomb Initiative" !!!!! Haven't stopped writing for it just yet >;] (totally recommend that fic btw I'm really proud of it :D)

Judit opened her mouth to shrug off the thanks, to say it was no problem, but the sudden warmth in the Lieutenant's expression caught her off guard. Kim gave her a small, almost unnoticeable smile.

She felt a rush of.. something, and she blinked. "Of course, Lieutenant Kitsuragi." She nodded, giving Harry an odd look.

Maybe that was why he sought out Kim often. This warm affection was definitely something she wanted to feel again. She supposed it was its rarity that drew Harry in. It definitely seemed to pull her.

Kim is everyone's favourite, this fic captures that. I think. Love a bit of Kim Kitsuragi myself ngl. Anyway I've got three Disco Elysium fics in the works at the moment, one of them is multichapter though so that one might take a while to get out !!!!

“Mom! Dad! Look at th–” Evan cuts himself off when he enters the cave and notices his parents. They’re talking quietly, their backs turned towards him and their heads bent close together. From this distance he can’t hear what they might be saying. His mother’s face, what little of it he can see, is contorted into a grimace, her eyebrows furrowed together. She’s upset again, carrying that sad, weary expression she often has. The one she denies, claiming Evan ‘doesn’t understand’ the burdens that grown ups – parents – have to bear.  He wants to understand more than anything in the world. Even more than he longs to know what the surface world is like. Because he can read about what happens beyond the ocean, he can learn that way. But no book or map or shiny trinket will tell him why his own mother can’t look at him sometimes. Why she bursts into tears as if he personally caused her distress.  If he did know, then maybe he could help her feel better. Not even asking Maddie about it has given him any insight. She gives him a fleeting, conflicted look before gathering him in a hug and reassuring him it will all be okay because she loves him.  He never asks the natural follow up question, about why his sister phrases it that way. If it’s because their parents don’t actually love him. But why wouldn’t they? He’s their son and aren’t all parents supposed to love their children?

We Are Vain & We Are Blind (Dark Ransom Drysdale x Reader) I genuinely think this is the best thing I've written. It's definitely the most ambitious. It has a bunch of elements I'd never tried before (horror, suspense, smut, etc) and I'm so so proud of myself for pulling it off. It will probably always be my favorite.

I Know I Should Know Better (Bodyguard!Curtis x Actress!Reader) My first stab at a series and the work that taught me how to do chapters. Plus, I just really love these two sad beans and how very much they care about each other. My ideal mix of angst and pining.

More Than This (Arranged Marriage Ransom Drysdale x Reader) It is very possible that by the time this monster is done, it will be the longest thing I've ever written. Just really dragging out this slow burn and exploring all the ways these two deeply flawed people might actually fit together has been so fun for me.

I Can't Sleep Cause My Bed's On Fire (Vamps Ransom x Reader x Steve) The introduction of Vampire Steve!!!!!!!!! Some of the most fun I've ever had writing. And the fic that turned my little one-pairing AU into a giant multi-pairing mess of worldbuilding.

Giving Me a Thrill (Sex worker Johnny Storm x 40s something Reader) Really hard to write, for whatever reason, but now that it's out in the world, I'm so proud of it. A lot of my own feelings about aging are in this one. Along with Johnny just being an absolute menace. 😏
