First chapter is finally up and I hope you all enjoy this! I'm not used to writing, but I'm pretty happy with how this is going so far. It's more of a set-up chapter, and I held myself back a bit as I want to hit on some things in later chapters. I even already have some of Chapter 2 done, too! (Which is a lot of Sabo and Law interactions!)

My modern-day One Piece au that I'm about 7000+ words into and have no idea how I'm going to end it.

Ace/Sanji, Sabo/Law, Luffy/Zoro

The elevator finally stopped and the guy walked out ahead of Sabo. He hated to admit it but he was definitely admiring the view. Just what he needed. A hot new neighbor that was a complete dick. He sighed as he walked into his apartment ready to relax. Instead, he was met with the sight on a green haired stranger behind their bar eye fucking his little brother. "Who the fuck are you?" ~

Law rushed out of the elevator as soon as the doors opened. He just wanted to forget about this shit day and the cute blonde that probably hated him. As he got to the apartment he saw the door was already opened. That was weird. He walked into the apartment and came up short. He appeared to be interrupting an intimate moment between Sanji and a strange shirtless man. He didn't even know Sanji was into men. He didn't mind, obviously, but he did mind it happening in his damn kitchen. "Who the fuck are you?”

Have you considered Sabo/Law? Would You Like To? 👀

so. slawbo. which is the best possible ship name for Law x Sabo 

it all started in 2018 when Ruth drew Sabo and was like “hey his hair looks messed up here bc I didn’t look at a reference and drew it from memory… what if it’s because somebody stole his conditioner?” (see below - and note the date!)

then it popped into her head, “what if it was Law who stole his conditioner?”

and thus, slawbo was founded B)

we took the idea and ran with it, and now it’s become its own thing 

the more we thought about it, the more we were like, “this is actually a super funny and entertaining ship idea that would work well” 

but also we have a pretty weird take on it so we made it into our own, basically. 

because of its foundation on Law stealing Sabo’s conditioner (which remains an integral part of slawbo to this day), it’s pretty easily established that Law is The Annoying One and Sabo is The Annoyed One. 

which is kind of opposite of how you would imagine their dynamic, if you know them as separate characters in canon – Law is generally ‘the straight man,’ especially around the Straw Hats, and Sabo seems like a mix between the responsible one (w/his brothers, sometimes, and as a Revolutionary) and the not-so-serious one – so therefore it would be the most interesting for their made-up dynamic if their typical canon attitudes were swapped

now over to Ruth for a POKEMON METAPHOR: 

hey gang, Ruth here! as the resident Pokémon expert, I thought it might be fun to explain our slawbo dynamic using type effectiveness! per my illustration, Luffy’s personality is super-effective against Law, naturally (and unintentionally) irritating him. similarly, Law’s personality is super-effective against Sabo, who finds him super annoying (though Law exacerbates this on purpose, unlike Luffy towards Law). then, Luffy and Sabo don’t naturally annoy each other, because they’re brothers! when they annoy each other, it’s on purpose lol. hope this helped! alright, back to LJ

so in OUR slawbo dynamic, Law is the annoyer and Sabo is the annoyee. which is super fun! 

it also allows for deeper exploration of their characters – what is it about Law that makes Sabo so reactionary? what is it about Sabo that makes Law want to press him for reactions? there’s a lot of potential in two characters having a dynamic with each other that they don’t have with anybody else 

to be clear when we came up with slawbo, and this dynamic, we were NOT thinking deeply about it at all. we literally were just like “ok how funny would this be.”

so, to use an antiquated term: this is pretty much a crack ship 

also, Ruth wanted me to mention that this is NOT something we do a lot. we aren’t really “crack shippers” and pretty much stick to canon/fanon (when applicable – we can be picky). we share a single brain cell so we usually have similar taste 

so slawbo is special <3 

back in 2018 when slawbo first came to be, I started writing what I now refer to as my “pilot slawbo fic.” it’s called “make me burn the candle right down” and it is based on the original slawbo dynamic we came up with at this time

now it’s a bit out of date characterization-wise (also writing-wise bc I wrote it over 5 years ago) but it still holds a special place in my heart, and in our slawbo canon 

so then we have the series of fics I started writing in summer 2021. this is the “main verse” slawbo, the more polished version from the pilot version of 2018. the series is appropriately named slawboverse.

this verse chronicles them meeting and establishing a relationship. pretty straightforward.

it’s worth saying that this isn’t canon divergent or an AU – this takes place within the scope of canon, and we’re not changing any canon events (sorry Ace)

Ruth coined the term “canon enhancement”

there’s going to be a fic series written by both of us (mainly me, with a series of one-shots and a few supplementary fics by Ruth plus beta’ing), and art by Ruth posted to her art blog thirteenth-sword

currently slawbo can be divided into 3 major eras: pre-Marineford, post-Marineford/timeskip, and post-Dressrosa. 

these mark major character moments for both Law and Sabo, and would thus shake up their relationship (like Sabo having amnesia at the beginning vs getting his memory back after Marineford, and Law planning his suicide mission to take down Doflamingo vs after Dressrosa when Law’s mission is over and he didn’t die) 

so the series starts when Sabo is 18-19 and Law is 23-24 – pre-canon (and therefore pre-Marineford) 

so Sabo is not as high up in the Revolutionary Army as he ends up being later, and Law is not as notorious and well-known as a pirate 

this means Sabo has amnesia and an attitude problem, and Law has a plan for vengeance and also an attitude problem 

more specifically, Law, when we meet him in Sabaody in canon, is a smirky, rude bastard. he’s not as serious, and doesn’t have that “straight man” quality that we see post-timeskip. we view this change in character as a combination of him being closer to the zenith of his suicide mission and being around a bunch of insane idiots who defy all logic (the Straw Hats).

also we love and respect aroace relationships but these two fuck nasty. btw.

after Marineford, their dynamic definitely shifts. Sabo suddenly remembers his past, and also Law saved Luffy’s life, which adds a whole layer onto everything. and the fact that Law was THERE, and Sabo wasn’t… oof

a similar dynamic shift occurs after Dressrosa – Law basically planned to die taking Doflamingo down (not in an angsty way, just in a matter-of-fact sense – he essentially thinks he was supposed to die of Amber Lead when he was younger, but Corazon saved his life, so now he’s alive in order to avenge Corazon by killing Doflamingo – which is going to be so difficult that he’s just accounting for his inevitable demise to occur here. so when he survives, Law is like “oh damn this wasn’t really in the plan”) 

so a big part of their pre-Dressrosa dynamic is based on Law being like “fuck it we ball, who cares if I mess with this guy and flirt with him and stuff, I’m probably gonna die in the next few years, yolo.” which is an attitude he doesn’t have towards a lot of other things bc he has to Keep It Together in order to fulfil his vengeance mission, but his relationship with Sabo doesn’t really have any overlap w/said vengeance mission, sooo…

bonus note: Rule Of Cool may not apply to The Slawboverse, but Rule Of Funny absolutely does. if something if funny, regardless of whether or not it might be inaccurate, we will include it (within reason, obviously)

some small details to establish!!

Sabo is taller than Law. fuck canon. imo Law’s growth was stunted a bit from the Amber Lead and Sabo is a beanpole

Sabo has more extensive scarring than in canon, all on his left side (see art for details)

Law has skeleton-patterned vitiligo BUT it’s on purpose lmao. I like to think that he had extensive depigmentation from Amber Lead even after it was cured, so he used his Devil Fruit to move the affected patches of skin around so he’d have a cool skull pattern, because he’s a dweeb

Law also has Raynaud’s and Celiac disease

Sabo has blue eyes (left one is slightly paler from the explosion damage) and Law has golden eyes like in manga canon

Law wears black nail polish always because. gestures to him. also he wears Converse, despite the brand not existing in the One Piece universe. doesn’t matter, he’s so Converse-coded that somehow the multiverse warped and found a way to get them to him

they are both Schrodiner’s Transgendered: are they trans?? perhaps. both have dicks and could have transitioned via Iva (Sabo) or Ope-Ope surgery shenanigans (Law). we’re leaving it open/ambiguous bc it's not really a focus of the series

Sabo defs went through a phase when he was a younger teen where he was hyper aware of his amnesia and would often jump to conclusions about strangers like, looking at him slightly longer than socially acceptable bc he’d be like “do they know me? Did they know me?” He’d be overly fixated on what his life was beforehand and do a lot of research on Dawn Island and would spend hours imagining what it would be like to meet somebody from his past. This stops rather abruptly – after a while he comes to the sudden and stark realization that every time he thinks “hey, this person might know me, which would fill some unnameable void inside of me because they could tell me who I am so I don’t have to figure it out for myself!” it never ends up being the case, so he quickly forces himself to stop thinking like this at all, which results in him slingshotting the other way for a while – where he refuses to even acknowledge his amnesia or the possibility that he might have people out there who knew him or cared about him before. So that is something we plan to explore in his relationship w Law!

another aspect of him kinda ignoring his amnesia would be that he feels like he’s exactly where he needs to be with the Revolutionaries – so even if he did have a life before his amnesia, it can’t be something better than where he is now.

so, that’s it for now! we want to leave some of the ~mystery~ intact to encourage interest in the fics/art, but always feel free to message either of us to chat about slawbo lol. and ENJOY!

“Well.. you’re part of a revolutionary. So I thought you might have some ideas or thoughts about it.”

“Heh, well, let’s see.. ehh~ to be honest with you Bepo, I don’t really agree on the terms within governmental laws. Besides, some are reasonable, only to a minimum in this world. So to put more simpler.. fuck the law. This is a world of freedom, it shouldn’t matter how much laws they put in.”

“So uhh.. that’s your opinion?”

“Yeah, I would rather scream out “FUCK THE LAW” if it’s for my freedom.”

“Huh.”

all things fell off from ace’s hold onto the floor right after he opened the door to the producer shanks’ working room. a worried voice coming from outside, offering to help picking up his things. 

“it’s fine, i’m good. just a little bit nervous,” ace replied while reaching out to his water bottle and put it in between his left arm. 

after closing the door, ace's eyes wandered around the room that was already familiar to him; a working space with warm yellowish lights with wallpaper-covered walls on the top half and brown wood panels on the bottom half. ace took a deep breath, then moved to face producer shanks who would be his debate opponent for the next few hours. 

"ace, ace," before ace had fully sat down and prepared himself, shanks had already held out three stacks of manuscript towards him. "i'm already thinking, your next work will be a soap opera adaptation again." 

ace frowned, “uh, shanks? didn't you say that this time you wanted to use my original script?" his voice was a little hopeful; hoping that shanks’ words were just a joke. 

the red-haired man before ace folded his arms over his stomach. "that's how it was. but now that i think about it again, you're really good at making film adaptation of soap operas. it's better to just adjust to market tastes than taking risks, ace." 

ace mustered up half his courage as he removed three stacks of adaptation manuscripts to the side. “shanks, i bring my original manuscript. don’t you want to listen to it first?" this time, it was ace who held out a thick stack of a slightly crumpled manuscript with black paper clips struggling to clamp all the papers at the corner. 

shanks took the manuscript that ace offered, flipping through the pages–but ace was sure, shanks didn’t read a thing. one side of shanks’ eyebrow raised as he looked at ace, giving permission to ace to continue speaking. 

"well, shanks. first, before i start, imagine the film was made in black and white–" 

(the dimly-lighted working room lost its color in ace's eyes, tuning into ace’s imagination which was starting to seep out of the crevices of his brain. the interior wallpaper and wood panels were no longer green and brown, but gray.) 

“black and white? our audience doesn’t like it, ace. only 15 minutes into the film, they will come to the staff, ‘is the film broken?’. how come you came up with an idea as if you didn’t know what our audience was like!” shanks immediately closed ace’s manuscript and put it back on the table. 

ace rolled his eyeballs, “there’s a meaning behind it, shanks. i promise. the colors will be back at the half-end! this is romance, romance!” 

shanks' eyes narrowed. “romance?” ace nodded. romance, suitable for the largest target market in this country. it was also easy to ask for promotions from the cinema side. “this isn't an art film, is it? commercial?” ace nodded again at both questions. "okay, try me." looks like shanks were sold a little bit. 

"this film tells the story of a film writer who wants to get his highschool crush by writing his love story into a script–" shanks looked at ace, starting to get interested. ace gave a little pause to escalate shanks' anticipation. “–but his highschool crush just lost his husband.” 

"don’t tell me, this is a sad story? no way. the audience won’t like it. make it a happy ending, man, so we can make a stunt about someone proposing to his crush after the film ends. it will be viral, for sure.” shanks looked up, already imagining what gimmicks and marketing techniques could be used for this film.

“you’ve already thought too far ahead, sir… but, yeah, it will have happy ending. calm down!” ace chimed in. after making sure shanks was convinced, “shall i continue?” 

shanks nodded, allowing ace to resume his story.

sabo met ace again in the supermarket cashier line.

“ace? you use your name as your character’s name?” 

“shanks, this is only draft, and, yes. you want to have a personal story as an original story, right?” 

“so, this is based on your personal experience, huh?” shanks grinned widely and ace was ready to continue while holding his smile shyly. “but, anyway. why supermarket, ace? it’s too ordinary. not romantic.” 

"maybe the first meeting seems too ordinary. but if we look deeply, there is sadness in our main character's eyes, sabo."

sabo met ace again in the supermarket cashier line.

the last time sabo met ace, as he remembered, was at sabo and law's wedding. after that, sabo's contacts and meetings with his high school friend faded along with their respective busy lives; sabo with his newlywed life after moving to another city and ace focusing on his filming career in the capital city (sabo didn’t know the details). 

at the front end of the line, ace looked confused. sabo vaguely heard from the cashier that ace’s apples hadn’t been weighed. ace turned around while apologizing to the queueing line that was forced to halt because of him.

the corners of sabo's lips lifted slightly, apparently ace's carelessness hadn't changed either. 

ace, who had stepped aside on the side of the queue line while saying sorry, suddenly stopped and met his gaze with sabo’s. the confusion in ace's eyes turned into a warm glow like greeting an old friend. 

“sabo, right?”

there’s an air of certainty edging around ace’s voice in sabo's ears. as if ace knew, he couldn't be wrong, because there were only a few blonde haired people with a big scar on their face.

"hi," sabo greeted back. the confusion that was shown on ace’s face now had shifted to sabo’s, he didn’t know what he should say to an old friend whom he met again in the middle of a waiting line like this. "hurry and weigh those apples, many people are waiting." 

hearing the familiarity in sabo's voice, ace put the apples randomly on the side display case, as if he didn't want to lose any time with sabo. “i'll just cancel the apples, come, you can check your groceries out with mine.”

before sabo had the chance to refuse, ace already brought sabo's shopping basket. leading sabo to the cashier, cutting the line.

“uh, ace–no need to! really–" sabo gave up on taking back his shopping basket because ace had already arrived in front of the cashier. sabo could feel other’s eyes on his back, staring sharply as he cut the line. “so sorry, yes, excuse me..."

he arrived in front of the cashier whose face was already annoyed. sabo could only apologize once again. "please separate the payment, thank you."

again, before sabo could stop him, ace had brought several of sabo's shopping bags. there was only one shopping bag left for sabo to take with him, which only contained vegetables. the lightest bag. sabo sighed, good-ol'-ace just like back then. 

"ace, let's grab some coffee."

at least sabo should give ace something as a gratitude for saving sabo’s precious twenty minutes, on sunday afternoon, that could be gone in a flash just for queueing on the grocery line.

"that's great. i can already imagine deuce as the actor."

shanks' voice disrupted ace's flowing imagination.

"isn’t deuce too handsome? ace, here, is a script-writer... i don’t think there are any script-writers that look like deuce?” ace was half annoyed because shanks interrupted him during the fun part of the story.

"well, we just need to make his co-star no less beautiful. nico robin for example," shanks turned his chair to the left while holding his chin, in his mind there were already several possible suitable actresses and actors. “iconic couple.”

not as sweet as sabo, though. ace thought, but that would be a matter for another time. ace took the opportunity to continue his story while shanks was thinking of any potential candidates.

instead of coffee, sabo took ace to the bubble tea shop (at an age where you should cut back on sugary drinks, it was fine to taste it sometimes). after all, you didn't meet high school friend coincidentally very often. their chat started with the casual pleasantries and life updates such as current business or asking for a new address.

sabo answered with a little bit of hesitation, he’d been back here for four months. without needing ace to ask why sabo was back, he felt like ace already knew the reason; the information had been spread in their high school group chat, which only got active when there was an obituary.

but sabo didn't want to dampen the mood between them, and ace also seemed to catch the look on sabo's face, even though sabo was the first to change the topic of conversation.

"what about you?" sabo asked, folding his hands on the table before continuing, "how's work?" ace looked at sabo, not sensing any bad intentions from the question. ace chuckled, scratching his black hair.

"aw, shit, we are reaching to this topic, huh?" ace leaned his back against the backrest. he felt unable to escape from sabo's curious gaze which, for some reason, ace had never been able to avoid since high school. "yeah, business as usual. write a film script adaptation from a soap opera."

“oh yeah, yeah. i watched it, your film adaptation of that soap opera, through the link that was shared in the group chat. what's the title? reincarnation remake?” very wrong, but sabo was enthusiastic.

“reborn.” ace corrected.

“reincarnation... reborn?”

ace hid his face in his arms which were folded on the table.

"what’s the difference?"

ace raised his head. "yeah, i don't know, my producer said it was catchier." his right hand shook his plastic earl gray milk tea cup. "huh, hang on. did you say you watched it from a shared link? was it a pirated site, sab?"

this time it was sabo who couldn't avoid ace's shocked gaze. “it was an official link, i swear! the quality was HD when i watched it!” sabo panicked, but for some reason, ace laughed even louder at sabo's answer which made sabo smile.

"you're a mess, man! how come you don't support your friend's work." ace shook his head, his hand was holding his left chest, pretending as if sabo's actions were very offensive to his feelings. it was sabo's turn to laugh now.

this was his loosest laugh in the last four months.

"sorry, okay? i don't really understand that kind of thing." sabo replied while taking a sip of his bubble tea drink, an attempt to get rid of the awkwardness after being caught watching a pirated film in front of his friend who worked in the film industry. "next time i'll watch your work at the cinema. what are you working on now?"

ace was pondering his decision, before finally answering.

“this time i was asked to work on an original manuscript. romance, of course. because it is always on high-demand. i'm still in the process of looking for ideas, though. but i'm thinking about making a romance for our age."

“romance? if you want it to be easy, just make it about teenagers school romance, right? at our age, we have a lot of other things to think about," sabo answered, noticing the disapproving look on ace. "isn't it? sweet and cute love belongs to teenagers, ace.”

ace shook his head as he hastily downed his drink, his tongue clicked before wagging his index finger in front of sabo's face, not sharing the same thoughts as sabo. "no, sab. people of our age can also be sweet and romantic."

"god, i can't imagine going into the cinema and watching a romance film where the main characters are already in their thirties like us," sabo raised both of his hands slightly, curling his fingers. "people at our age just need to talk nicely and discuss it if they have a problem, ace. there's no beating around the bush or kissing under the rain, we can’t be sweet and cute like school romance."

sabo saw the man in front of him chuckled, "no, no, i'm going to make a romance story between adults that can beat the sweet romance story of teenagers!"

there was a moment of silence between them before sabo broke it, "people our age can't fall in love like in the movies anymore, ace."

ace was silent, not wanting to reply back anymore. sabo had his own thoughts which he was sure cannot be shaken, but ace also had his own.

“you just put the title after TWENTY MINUTES IN? you're crazy, ace. and the first twenty minutes are just casual talking?"

ace smiled.

"that's romantic, shanks. the romance of adults.”

they talked for almost two hours until they were interrupted by a call from hack, an employee at sabo's flower shop, which made sabo remember that he had to go home. from the corner of his eyes, sabo saw ace still wanting to catch up. actually sabo did want too, there were still many things that sabo wanted to hear from his old friend. but now that sabo was back living in the capital city, he could meet ace any time again, right?

ace offered to take sabo's groceries to the car, which of course, ace had lifted before sabo could refuse.

after all the shopping bags were stored into his car and sabo said thank you, they were silent for a moment as if they wanted to stretch the time.

and that was when ace spoke up.

"do you really... won't fall in love again? have you ruled out the possibility that there might be someone else in your life?"

sabo was stunned-still. suddenly, it felt like there was a lump stuck in his throat which made sabo unable to speak. his eyes and brain tried to find the meaning behind ace's gaze and question, but to no avail.

"i... i am fine of being alone... because after–" sabo cleared his throat, swallowing the bitter taste that came from nowhere, gathering his strength to answer ace. "after law passed away four months ago, all my love and dreams were buried with law, ace."

sabo closed the door of his car, trying not to see ace's expression at that moment.

“thank you, ace. let's meet again sometimes soon." sabo smiled and waved, before driving off in his car, leaving ace in the parking lot, like the end of the first sequence of a film.

ace fiddled with his fingers anxiously, while shanks leaned forward on his desk. ace's anticipation amidst the silence was rewarded with the producer's words;

"i'm waiting for the next development, ace."

ace's eyes widened, he wanted to jump right here right now, but he held back. the celebration can be done any time, at least, the initial stage of the manuscript was finally accepted

"thanks, sir!"

ace withheld his smile, not only because the initial stages of his original manuscript were accepted by the ever-impenetrable shanks, but also because ace was finally able to make a reason to meet sabo again.

at least ace could used 'surveying florist for his new film' as an excuse to visit sabo’s flower shop. because ace needed to understand sabo better and his entire background, including sabo’s feelings and grief.

Omg!!! I am SO glad somebody asked me this!!!! It actually started as a joke with my fiancé because I kept talking about Luffy having a fanclub. The members being quite obviously Boa, Sabo, Koby, Bartolomeo and, (he goes there as top secret and makes everybody swear on their lives they won't tell anybody about this) Law. Shirahoshi is there too sometimes, she's busy princessing. Rebecca joins them too. This actually was made because I kept saying Sabo and Law would hate each other's guts (in a One-sided Lawlu sense, btw. I was in a Lawlu mood that day) and they'd have the biggest sexual tension in the world (Sabolaw my beloved too). Like I am not joking, these are real messages I sent to my partner:

But anyway, this is not about these two idiots. This is about Boa.

The thing is, I think they'd get along. The fact that Boa is down bad for Luffy would kind of weird out Sabo because "what the hell is wrong with this girl?" but they'd see eye to eye. They both care so much about him and I think they'd understand each other's morals a lot. Boa doesn't trust men easily, but Sabo being Luffy's brother and a revolutionary would honestly make her a bit softer for him. My happiness when I saw them on screen together for like two seconds watching Stamepede??? That movie really is a whole fanfic. Anyway- Both of their lives were ruined by Nobles/Celestial Dragons. Sabo literally fights against slavery. His girlfriend (Koala is his girlfriend and this is a canon fact to me even if it isn't canon because, lmao, have you seen them interact) was a slave. Like- Sabo and Boa both have strong personalities and fight for their ideals no matter what??? And they both have a weak spot and it's Luffy??? I think they'd be perfect as besties, honestly. Add Sabo to the list of 3 men Boa trusts. "Not all men" exactly, because Rayleigh, Luffy, and Sabo would never. I just think their personalities match a lot, in every way. I also think Sabo wouldn't be affected by her power either and that's extremely positive for Boa to like him (to me, Sabo is like 'Men are really hot and my girlfriend is really hot but other than that, what turns me on the most is the the FLAME OF REVOLUTI-'). And you know, sharing morals, a soft spot, and having no sexual thoughts in the dynamic, would create a great friendship <3

First of let me tell you that I haven’t read fanfics in like over a year. I know I am a sad little shit, and I should be reading more things but like I just haven’t gotten around to it or found motivation for it. Kill me pls. But anyway this isn’t what you’re asking so onto the actual ask!

I like to read mostly shippy material, platonic is cool and all but like I need my romance because I am that piece of trash. I love fantasy stories, prefer AU over canon any day, like I can worship and praise everyone who is able to do Canonverse to hell, but I prefer AU’s over canonverse. Angst will forever be my love in any story but hurt/comfort is a close second as well as fluff. Tropes, aaaah there’s so many to choose from, let’s see, pining friends who are completely clueless, strangers meeting at a store, misunderstandings this one is a great one lol, umm rivals turned friends and lovers, shit anything you can find in a Spanish novella, I can go on forever on this I s w e a r . so I’ll leave this for now. 

Favorite character POV I would say Ace, followed by Sabo, Marco, Law, Izo, Thatch. Since I mostly ship MarcoxAcexSabo, MarAce, SabAce, MarSab, SabLaw, IzoxThatch yeah, as long as it isn’t Luffy please I have developed a no-Luffy pls mentality >>;And I’m so sorry you’re bored!!! Here's a weird one because I saw some fan art but Sabolaw where sabo initially tracks law down because he was the last known person to have seen corazon and the rev army wanted to ask about the world nobles

Law isn’t sure what to think of the revolutionary that is waiting in his sub when he gets back from his newest meeting with the marine. He’s certainly interesting looking, with a top hat and a waist coat, a pair of goggles sitting just above the wide brim.

“Trafalgar Law?” The man asks even though Law is sure that he knows exactly who he is. He’s been waiting in his sub for who knows how long, after all. “I’m here to talk to you, if you have some time.”

“And if I say no?” Law asks slowly.

The man smiles, “Then I ask you to reschedule the other appointments, since I don’t have time to come back around. My name is Sabo, I’m from the-”

“Revolutionary army,” Law answers. “Sengoku has told us much about you.”

“Well, that’s nice. I’m here to ask you some questions, Law nods in understanding. “About Rocinante.”

“What about him,” Law asks feeling himself go cold and his hands clenching into fists. “What could be needed to know?”

Sabo tips his head, “We were hoping to know if he might be willing to tell us about the Nobles.”

“I’m sorry,” Law says clutching almost too tight against his sword. “Corazon died, many years ago. He’s not, there’s not a way-”

“Thank you for your time,” Sabo says hand soft against Law’s arm and Law wants to lean into the touch. “We wanted to know if he was alive to answer some things, I apologize for bothering you about something so traumatic.”

“T-that’s it?” Law asks.

Sabo smiles, “That’s it. I won’t press you about someone who died and I’m sorry to upset you. It was something we had been hoping to figure out, but since we can’t, it’s still enough to know the truth. Thank you, very much.”

“You mean it? I’m never going to see you creeping around again.”

“I don’t know,” Sabo states grinning. “You are kind of cute, unless you aren-”

“SABO, stop flirting with the contacts, damn it.”

“Koala!”

Law laughs, smiling at Sabo, “I’m sure you can find my number somewhere and if you can’t, maybe if you come around again and beg me for it.”

Sabo blinks twice before grinning widely, “I love a challenge. See you around, Law.”

My headcanon is that they were secretly dating since they were young, before Sabo regained his memory and Law became a Warlord. So when Law helps Luffy he does it out of instinct, because he is a "D" but then he finds out that he is his brother-in-law. Now Law takes care of Luffy, because he knows that he is important to his beloved Sabo, and they got married in secret. They even adopted Roule. Anyway, my headcanons are for the games. I'll keep waiting for Law and Sabo to officially meet in the manga.

I don't think I've had anything this good since…” he tailed off as he mind flashed to screeching tires, crunching metal, pain and searing heat, and the darkness that followed. Sabo pushed the memory away. “Well it's been a long time.” He turned his attention away from the past and back to his food. He didn’t miss the way the mysterious man in yellow stopped to watch him as he reigned in his memories.

Sabo and Law share more about themselves in this one and move further from enemies and maybe closer to something else

Chapter 2 of my Sabolaw Frog Prince fic is almost done and will be out Thursday. Also, official release schedule will be every other Thursday till the story ends! I'm a bit nervous of what y'all will think of the new chapter. I do promise it's a lot of them interacting!

I also started cooking up another fic for fun. Just a modern AU one shot and uhhhhhh will have smut in it. Very different, but something I wanted to try out and release around Halloween, but had to delay. >> Been enjoying writing them a lot. I still need to finish a bunch of art WIPs though.

Anyway sorry for yapping. Idk if anyone will see this but just needed to write my thoughts out!

Zoro threw open his door, ready to tell whoever was yelling to shut the hell up so he could go back to kissing Luffy in peace. He couldn't say what he’d expected to see, but Law's bare ass was definitely not it. True they'd only been living together for a few months, but walking around the apartment naked wasn't something any of them had done before. At least not as far as he knew.
