S8 OMG so agree!!!! Besides the gold swimwear, their (swim) atrocious. Jewelry- wouldn't spend gems at all. Heart and pink sleepwear cute, black is Meh! Evening wear- Free and the two piece are OK. Now onto the OTHER ISLANDERS: what is it with the formalwear and girls sexy lingerie for everyday wear? The other girls evening dresses look like the finale or Prom dresses.

Below is some outfits from S3 that were purchaseable from Nasty Gal or Missguided, for example.

Someone posted recently (sorry don't remember who) that maybe FB should do a clothing collab, like the series does, and they can make $ by you being able to actual purchase the clothes in RT. Ebay is current sponser on the UK TV show. Here are a couple of fashion boards from S2 where you could actual purchase the outfits from PL, Bahimi, Missguided, and ASOS.

yeah, the logic especially makes absolutely 0 sense.

like, army and everything aside, where does she even get those outfits from?

from the very first episode, Catra stands out cuz she isn't wearing anything like the uniform that everyone else is, with the exception of Adora, though her uniform still looks kinda like the cadet one but modified. we could reason that SW gave her that outfit.

but with Catra? there's no in-world reason for it.

you could argue that Nate wanted you to pay attention to Catra in comparison to the other cadets, to show she's more important, writing wise, but her early teens outfit still did that just fine. she was wearing the uniform, but it had a slightly more scrappy look to it.

and, as someone who has a lot of trial and error in character design, there are plenty good designers that know how to still make a character look different, even if they're in similar get-up as everyone else. there's no actual reason for Catra to have a different outfit from the one she had as a younger teen. there just isn't.

as for the other outfits:

where on etheria could either her or Scorpia get fancy outfits? Scorpia, i could justify with her having a lot of money and more leeway, but the show never displays that.

the winter one makes sense, i guess, but even so, the Kingdom of Snows and the Horde didn't seem to have, like, any animosity with each other whatsoever, so why would the Horde be interested in seasonal clothes? Catra obviously isn't above stealing.

Crimson Waste is literally just their normal outfits with a jacket, not sure if you can even consider that a different outfit. this is just for her to look 'cool' and 'badass'.

yeah, i'm gonna think she's so cool in that jacket when she talks like an edgy 12 yr old obsessed with gachatube, early 2010s tumblr, and r/im14andthisisdeep.

s4 outfit, i don't hate it, but it just feels like more fanservice and i don't understand why it looks the way it does. why does she have one sleeve? people made up that it was because of the corruption from s3, but that never happened. it literally never happened.

i know you don't have to be 100% practical when designing a character, i'm honestly just nitpicking because the stans piss me off and i never understand why Catra doesn't wear armor. i mean, we know she has plot armor, but-

the... is it sleepwear? i dunno, but i'm p sure that she wore a similar outfit in the beginning of s4. writing wise, doesn't make sense, but whatever, it's fine, it's just sleepwear.

now her s5 outfit just makes me mad, cuz where the hell did she get it? if you think about it too much, it gives a creepy implication that one of the others somehow found her s4 outfit and kept it ( and knowing stans, they'd likely make it so that Adora found it ). but then you'd have to remember that this is SPOP and Nate is the main writer of it and remember that this is just yet another continuity error ( i think i'm using that term right- ).

this is Adora's dream. not her seeing the future. and even then, it's a really strange one, cuz it implies a few details that just don't match with what we know?

Glimbow, for one thing. i don't think Adora was rooting for them. i mean, she'd be happy for them, i think, but that woulda come outta left field for her, like it did for the rest of us.

the other thing is Scorpia's party and how she'll 'kill them' if they're late. i feel like this does kinda make sense, but only if Adora still held the image of Scorpia from s1-s4 to the one now. which i think would be giving the writers too much credit.

i don't know why they wrote in that comment, but it doesn't really fit Scorpia. we all know she's not necessarily the most violent person, though she's not the most docile, either, so Bow saying that just never made sense to me.

final thing is people assuming that these 'dream' outfits were ones they'd wear all the time in the future. and, Nate seems to agree, considering that one illustration, that's just kinda silly? i feel like Catra definitely wouldn't look as put together, especially since she's apparently still a child and refuses to get her hair brushed.

at least Adora still acknowledges that she's a brat.

and i'm gonna be so fr, i hate dream Bow's look, why the fuck-

so, yeah, to the surprise of no one, most, if not all, of these outfits don't make in-world sense, yet they exist anyway because Nate decided that a war criminal that runs on ration bars deserves to 'look hot // badass' more than the main fucking protagonist.

this make me a little upset

and the problem is that not only adora never changes her base outfit, every other princess used only 2 other clothes

but they want me to belive the catgirl had a full wardrobe while living in the fucking fright zone where the soldiers only had ration bars to eat

Yeah, that makes no sense what so ever. It also felt weird that throughout the series Adora was still wearing her OG outfit from when she was in the Horde. Like, did she ever think, "Hey, maybe I should change out of the outfit I was wearing when I was in a fascist army? Nah."

Just goes to show who's the creator's favorite, I guess...

Streetwear: it’s literally just his uniform but without any emblems haha

Sleepwear: he tends to sleep in black knee-length shorts and a light short-sleeved sleeping shirt!

Trouble: 

Streetwear: he wears casual clothes--think of like, what a steampunk-y pilot would wear, bomber jacket and all??--and a signature red leather jacket or cloak with his white gloves. I know his character art depicts him as wearing goggles, but this is actually only an occasional accessory!

Sleepwear: he wears loose-fitting pants (like sweatpants) and usually sleeps shirtless!

The only episode I remember him wearing all black (with the exception of his mission suit) is Space Colony, S4. But even that is a little mission suit-ish.

There's one episode I can't recall off the top of my head (somewhere late S2, early S3, though) where the whole family was awakened in the middle of the night by something? I remember Leo making a comment about Donald's sleepwear (some kind of animal print), but Leo himself is wearing dark long sleeves and sweatpants.

But if you want something else and okay with making a bit of exception, TJ Williams has a couple of pics during a Teen Vogue party and the Power Ball music video where he does wear all black. He also has a head shot kind of pic that IFC posted when Brockmire first aired where he wore dark clothing.

Those are mostly pictures though, with the exception of grouptherapy.'s Power Ball MV.

BRO life has been so damn (aggravating) crazy this past month, anyway tell me your thoughts about 'ex in the villa' before i update the app and go play it 🥺🥺❤🙏

Hi beautiful! It's not a full season like S1/2/3 were. It's a mini-season which gives us a different scenario to play. If you play it with this in mind... it's actually not bad, so far at least.

Side Characters:

💎Alfie's a sweetheart, and I think it's actually nice that he's a little unsure. @amalasofmonterisso did a great post about this, but the more 'unsure' he is, the more I like him. It makes him seem like a real person, with real doubts about his feelings. I'm looking forward to seeing where things go with him.

💎Kat is a walking tantrum, and I love her for it. She's got some of the best one-liners, and is quite upfront about what she wants, so I'm interested to see if they boot her early or not.

💎Dana is a LI, and is pretty clearly on MC's side early on, and I like how she seems like she's a little more chill. I hope they give her a bit more depth though, especially if you're not on her route. I don't want her to fade in to the background like Najuma if you're not romancing her. She's also quite honest and seems like she'll be a good friend if you're not pursuing her. Angie vibes.

💎Suresh is.... eh. I'm not vibing with his writing yet, mostly because he doesn't seem to be very good at arguing for someone who's supposedly a corporate lawyer. Although, I'm not a lawyer, and that could just be my perception of him haha. I'll be going into this a bit more if/when I write a fic for him. However, I love his story arc and I'm looking forward to it.

💩Eddie is... also present? Even in the spoilers up to Episode 13, I haven't seen much in way of a personality for him yet. We'll see.

MC Design:

💎The outfits are cute compared to the ones we got at the start of S4, especially the sleepwear.

💎There are a lot more character design options, including more hairstyles and a bigger body type.

💩This might just be me, but I cannot for the life of me make my MC look the way I want her to. I miss the characters from S2/S3, where it was almost impossible for her to not look cute as fuuuuuck.

💩There are a distinct lack of features for non-white players. I've heard a lot of concerns about the eyes, noses, and hair, and I hope they rectify them. Hopefully we get more customisation options in future updates.

💩 We have almost zero choice over our backstory. We don't even get to decide our own secret! We don't get to decide our own ex, either, so WLW players... yeah, no.

Gameplay:

💎Drama central. I'm currently icing Suresh out - playing it cool and turning him down at every opportunity, but there are options for both a 'fuck you' playthrough and a ' please fuck me' playthrough, which will be cool.

💎With all the characters, they started off very sunshiney and shallow, and then started showing negative traits. I love this. I love my characters to have a little complexity. I hope they continue this and make the characters really deep!

💩It's really hard to earn gems.

💩There's a long, interactive ad after every episode and it's really annoying.

💩They recently moved from three episodes each week to having mostly two

💩 They're ending episodes MID-CONVERSATION to simulate drama. Which I hate.

Overall

As a standalone game? 5/10? 6/10 if I'm being really generous?

Compared to earlier seasons? I don't know... a 3/10? It's really not the same game.

If it wasn't for the fandom/community, I would've given up already. I'm personally not that engaged by any of the LI's so far, but I'm sure that will change. God, look what happened to me when they introduced Bruno omg.

But I love the community and I'm looking forward to reading the fics that come out about the season. So I'd encourage you to play it anyway, even if it's just so you can do fix-its with us :)

It was dark outside, and it was pouring rain too. Even through the thick layer of glass that served as a window, you could hear the wind whipping with the storm and smattering the raindrops against the buildings. On the inside, where you were currently, was quite the contrast though. There was not a sound to be heard inside your quarters. The fire that once crackled in the brick laid fireplace had long since burned out and you hadn’t moved from your spot on the couch - your eyes still trained on the charred wood that once harbored a flame. You hadn’t bothered to check the little pocket watch that had been shoved into your pocket earlier that day - you were quite sure that it would tell you it was far past your bedtime, but you just couldn’t bear to see the familiar golden thing.

First it was your father’s, but then he was killed, so it was passed onto your older brother. Erwin. He held it and kept it close to him with pride every day since then, making note to polish it on a regular basis so that its glint always shone strongly. Now it was covered in his blood. It was probably dry now, possibly even caked to the little clasp so that it couldn’t open properly anymore. You couldn’t bring yourself to wash it off. You refused to even touch it. That moment when you saw the new cadet, you think his name was Floch, bring him upon that disheveled roof caused you to go silent. Your movements ceased as you watched your brother take labored breaths… dying. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see the young members of the 104th division, Mikasa Ackerman and Eren Yeager, take a sharp inhale as they held their own dying friend. It was clear to anyone, that when the man holding the syringe that would grant life paused, an internal battle started to wage war in his mind. You don’t remember much - it was as if you were in a comatose state. All you know was that Erwin, your now dying big brother, reached into his breast pocket with what strength he had left, and shoved his little watch into your own. After that… a blur.

A quiet knock sounded on that measly wooden door that separated your office and adjoining bedroom from the rest of the building. You remain quiet. If they truly needed something, and were composed enough to talk to the girl who’s older brother just died, then they would come in without asking questions anyways. And that they did. The door creaked a bit and more light filtered into your office space through the opening, but went away just as quickly as it was closed. Footsteps made their way over to you and the person’s shadow was soon cast over you.

“Have you moved at all?” The voice was smooth and sullen. They knew the answer to the question as soon as they asked, you figured, but nonetheless it was spoken. As much as you thought you could answer, no words were able to be formed, much less a simple squeak. You simply opted to shake your head. With a sigh, they sat down next to you.“Have you eaten?” Another shake of the head. “Bathed?” You began to feel that your head would be moving like this forever if they kept asking you these questions. There was a beat of silence that passed through the two of you before they cupped your chin with their hand, rather roughly you might add, and wrenched your head so that it was looking at theirs. As soon as your Y/E/C eyes met his silver irises, you felt your body begin to thaw a little. Levi.

“My pocket,” you murmur, earning a confused expression from him.

“What about your pocket,” he says simply, his voice as gruff as ever. You come to the conclusion that he wasn’t going to bend to your wants, so you shakily reach your hand and grab Erwin’s pocket watch and drop it into Levi’s hands. Much to your surprise, he doesn’t recoil as the blood-caked watch meets his skin. Instead, he looks at it and then back up to you.

“Please take it.” Levi is quick to refuse.

“No. It’s yours, he gave it to you.”

“He would hate for it to be dirty, and we both know that you have a knack for cleanliness,” you quip, no humor present in your eyes. Levi huffs and takes out a little handkerchief and begins to gently rub away the dried blood.

“I’m sorry,” he says softly. You stay still but your eyes go back to the charred log of wood.

“Levi,” you start but he is quick to interrupt.

“Y/N, I’m the one who killed him and now you’re giving me his prized possession. That makes me feel like an asshole.” He says, scowling to himself. As blunt as his words were, you knew he was hurting. Hurting like he was when his old friends were killed.

“You’re an asshole but not for what happened.” You say. “I… I don’t remember what he said.” You feel your eyes begin to well with tears. Why couldn’t you have cracked in private? Why did he have to be here?

“You mean before he…” Levi started, earning a nod from you. He didn’t know what Erwin had said either, letting silence grace the room.

“What happens when I forget?” You confess shakily, finally letting your eyes meet his again. Levi stops his movements and lets the pocket watch rest on the handkerchief, carefully placing it on the low coffee table in front of the two of you. “What happens when I forget what his face looked like, or what his voice used to sound like.” The tears finally broke from their prison and began to rush down your cheeks. Wordlessly, Levi brought you into his arms. Your cries became vocal now as you let everything out. No longer were you just the shell of yourself - no, you were now revealing it all to Levi. Your head fell onto his strong shoulder as your hands grasped onto his shirt, sobbing.

He could hear his heart break. Of course he was absolutely devastated at seeing Erwin, one of his closest confidants and last remaining friends meet his end, but to see you like this was a strike to his soul. You were like sunshine on a rainy day, as cliche as that might sound - always there to brighten his spirits on gruelling days when he was annoyed with everyone else. Now it seemed like you were one of those gray clouds up in the sky, void of the cheer you used to possess. He held you tighter and laid his chin on the top of your head. Levi felt his shoulder begin to grow damp but he didn’t care. Nor did he mind the fact that your dirt and mud stained hands were grabbing onto his pristine and newly laundered white shirt, surely making it dirty once more. Your cries began to die down a bit, now just shaky whimpers escaping your mouth. He presses a soft kiss onto your hair and moves his hands so that they’re cradling you.

“I’m gonna lift you up, ‘kay?” He mumbles. He feels your nods against his chest and stands, walking you over to your bedroom. You’re just sniffling now as he sets you down on your bed and starts to rummage through your clothing drawer, throwing you a new set of sleepwear along with a pair of clean panties. Much to your better judgement and current state of grief, you bark out a laugh. Levi turns around slowly, his eyes narrowed, thinking you’ve gone mad now. You raise your hands up in defense and shake your head, a small smile crossing your face.

“I’m sorry, it’s just… he would be fucking furious if he knew you were touching my panties.” You couldn’t help it now, you were snickering as you grabbed the fresh set of clothes. He gives you a deadpanned look, sighs, and walks out of your room.

“Just change, you brat.” He says, clearly tired. You slowly peel your uniform off of your body and let it pool on the floor. Stepping into the clean clothes slowly, you exhale and slump onto the bed and close your eyes.

“Okay,” you call softly. You see Levi step back in and make his way over to the side of your bed. He looks down at you, an unknown emotion swimming in his eyes.

“When the nightmares start, just knock. Doesn’t matter what time.” He says simply.

“How do you know they’ll start?” You inquire.

“They always do.” He murmurs, closing his eyes for a second. An unspoken agreement becomes solidified between the two of you as you hold his gaze. He gives you a nod before he leans down and gives you a soft kiss to your forehead.

“And what about this?” You ask, motioning between the two of you. Levi’s face remains neutral as he steps away.

“A conversation for another day.” You see his figure walk out of your room and into the office space.

“You keep that safe,” you say, regarding the pocket watch, “and clean.”

“Go to sleep, brat.” Levi calls back.

Just like Levi had predicted the nightmares did come, and didn’t stop for weeks on end. Both you and him had them about Erwin, and both you and him knocked on each other's doors when they came. But, whenever it happened, Levi pulled out the pocket watch so that you and him could listen to the faint ticking, letting you know that he would be with you, always. Although, he might not be as fond to know that you were all wrapped up in the captain’s arms.
