But something I've been wondering is why Bishop called the turtles Splinter's "little dream brats"... like is there a reason or is Bishop just being Bishop, being creepy and weird for no reason at all
#tmnt 2003#s3 ep24 Bishop's Gambit#i was just watching it today and the thought popped up as he said it#just a silly little question

Just saw a post about how studies path is different for everyone and it reminded me of how I loved the Good Will Hunting reference in Community and how it shows some interesting anti ellitist views about career choices and social class
Im adding a link of the scene in question for context but for those who can't watch it, in s1 ep24 there are some math students struggling to resolve a puzzle on a green board. Then they are gone and Troy approaches, takes a chalk, stares at the board, ans just goes away with the chalk lol, before stopping at the water machine to drink, but sees it's not working, so he then proceeds to repair it like he has been doing this his whole life. Then he leaves and two plumbers, who saw the scene, come to talk to him, too late.
First the gag is really funny, like textbook setup payoff joke, but with a double payoff because the first one is that Troy is not good at logic so it shouldnt be a surprise he doesn't resolve the puzzle. But because we all know good will hunting we are still expecting it. But this would have been unsatisfying/unfinished if Troy would have resolved nothing at all, and so instead he repairs the pipes of the water machine, and this is how we get to see his actual gift : repairing stuff.
Troy in this gag is a mirror of Will : just like him, he is in a life path that can't make him discover and exploit his true potential ; like him his speciality is almost a gift, something he has intuitively, and that he is always good at, and can get him to prestigious places (Troy later learns he is the chosen one to plumbing school AND AC repair school, and even becomes the Messiah of the latter and saves someone's life and restores justice with his gift - s3 ep 22). But on the surface, Troy has an opposite path from will : while Will starts as a janitor and ends up as a student, Troy does the opposite: he starts as a student and becomes a worker of manual labour, something that, in our world, is seen as less valuable, and a downgrade from his former status. But not in Greendale. Here the ac repair school is like this masonic organisation that controls Greendale's budget and by doing so holds the actual power, because they are the only ones who can actually guarantee their students a job at the end of their cursus.
And while it sounds crazy, it is not far from the truth. Speaking for myself, I tried (and failed) a master degree in human sciences only to find out I wouldn't have been sure to find a job with it anyways because long studies are not valuable anymore, whereas almost all the people I know who did short studies and more manual labor are in a more stable situation than me. I also have ADHD, and I'm almost sure Troy has as well which explains in part the struggling in this capitalist élitiste system. While classes give Troy a hard time to focus or study, repairing is something Troy is actually good at, and the series explains it by making a parallel with air conditioning and people, because "the true repairman will repair men" (s3 ep 22). Troy seems to actually use his high emotional intelligence (yet again something seen as less valuable than logic etc) to repair stuff because he know how things and people work. It doesn't matter if he doesn't have extended knowledge about everything because he is best at focusing on what's just before him and between his hands. This way community shows another look on manual labor and it's actual value, because let's not forget that without it the whole society litteraly falls appart.
PS : just a reminder that I know that choosing a job is very often not motivated by gift or passion because capitalism and so the ones in power need poor people who have nothing to lose to do the physical, hurting labor while the rich get to choose. This post was just taking about these jobs are seen as inferior because they are mostly done by people with low education, but that doesn't mean these jobs don't require actual skills and knowledge, on the contrary. Just wanted to clarify a bit

S3 EP24 (The Turnabout Intruder) I can’t believe I’m here. At the end. This is the last thought post.
Let’s go already:
- Awww they’re beaming down together
- Leaving Kirk alone with a woman…
- An episode directly calling out sexism? More likely than you think?
- “We would have killed each other.” “Might have been better.” Hot
- Is this set on Friday cause that’s pretty freaky
- I’ll miss you Star Trek opening (I’m going to rewatch this show idk what I’m talking about)
- Obsessed with Kirk talking that way omg
- Something about transitioning or whatever
- They should know it’s not actually Kirk cause he didn’t do his dramatic ass communicator flip
- The actress doing a great job at playing Kirk (just body language at this point but it’s already spot on)
- Kirk’s ass uhmmm
- Woah Bones is going to riot! There’s so much medical malpractice happening here
- Nurse Chapel with brown hair <3
- Lester is fucking up so bad impersonating Kirk. Like she didn’t even cross her leg over the other when she sat in the captains chair and she isn’t properly listening to Spock’s infodump :(
- Bones gets to have his riot. Wait. How does Lester know to call him Bones?
- Bones why would you lean over Kirk like that
- Kirk storming out of his own damn room
- Kirk’s ass analyzing something or other or what-
- She is so good at playing Kirk
- Guys. Listen. She is my queen. I love her. I adore her. And more than that I think she’s the coolest motherfucker alive.
- If I was Kirk I’d have slapped Coleman. No hesitation.
- Kirk’s gotta get in contact with one of his boyfriends
- Kirk is so good at putting on his charm. Like he’s so quick to panic about the ship but the charm is quickly regained
- *smashes the glass and cuts through restraints* bad fucking ass
- The boyfriends are ✨worried✨
- McCoy and Spock look so pretty
- Bones is going to kill Kirk. His blue eyes are murderous
- Spock using his ‘I’m that bitch’ privileges to get past security
- “Don’t get dressed yet.” McCoy out of context 1969
- SHE DID THE PERFECT KIRK SMILE
- A CALL BACK TO A PREVIOUS EPISODE?!? Tholian web mention?!? Woah.
- THATS GAY HOLY SHIT THATS GAY
- “Doctor McCoy may be of help.” Yeah go get your other boyfriend!
- The guard stopping them from exiting and then Spock looks over at Kirk like, ‘the audacity of this bitch. Should I just nerve pinch him, captain?’
- LMAO HE DOES NERVE PINCH HIM AND FAILS THE FIRST TIME WHAT A LOSER
- eugh Lester shaking Bones’ hand is so unnaturally uncomfortable
- Can’t bring Kirk to Bones, bring Bones to Kirk
- WAIT NO SPOCK AND KIRK ARE CANONICALLY HOLDING HANDS OMG
- McCoy’s eyeing Spock like what the fuck is happening to our boyfriend
- “Why…? Captain.” The spite Spock has
- McCoy hates being used against Spock like this
- How can William Shatner make those clicking noises with his mouth so casually
- “But her intense hatred of her own womanhood made life with her impossible.” This is like lady Macbeth
- Spock getting mad oooooooh
- Ohhh my god it’s so fundamentally sexist how Kirk is now ‘more emotional’ which could be a character choice but it feels so over the top and more like a ‘she’s a woman so this is how she acts’ choice
- Lester hates being a woman so much because of prejudices and stereotypes that she now perpetuates those same things onto others
- I love how many episodes have mutiny
- THEY GOT CAUGHT IMMEDIATELY LMAO
- “The penalty: death.” WHAT
- SULU AND CHEKOV CONVERSATION! They’re amazing
- Spock was just like, ‘we gotta be ready to slap a bitch’
- “Kill him!!!” no murder tonight for you Lester
And that’s just how they end the whole fucking show huh
I’m not sure if I’ll ever do something like this again for a show but this was a blast and I enjoyed every second of it. Thank you so much to everyone who has followed along. Every comment, reblog, and like has been appreciated.
However, I will be posting some bonus thoughts so keep a lookout for those :)
And as always Masterpost

I love stalker movies. (Even bad ones.)
Here's a list of them (in no particular order).
Just for the heck of it, here are a few other stalker things that I really like.
First up: The Watcher and You. Because obviously.
I know The Watcher was inspired by a true story, but so much of this show was exaggerated and sensationalized and made tf up that I don't feel bad listing it here.
I feel like "You" goes without saying. (BTW I love the Emily in Paris crossover fanfics and edits I've found. So much fun.)
Angel - S1, Ep4 "I Fall to Pieces"
Jessie - S1 Ep7 "Creepy Connie Comes a Callin'", S1 Ep24 "Creepy Connie's Curtain Call", & S3 Ep11 "Creepy Connie 3: The Creepening"
A.N.T. Farm - S2 Ep2: Creative ConsultANT
But wait! There's More!
Because MUSIC is a thing! (This list will kill me if I include books and comics and my favorite fanfictions.)

Voyager rewatch s3 ep24: Displaced
This was a good one! Lots of twists and turns, nice little character moments for almost everybody, and lots of the background crew get featured too.
It opens with actual continuity from the previous episode- I love continuity!! Tom got B'Elanna to go do a Klingon excersise program on the holodeck with him after he won a bet about the cause of a malfunction in engineering, and now Tom and B'Elanna are leaving the holodeck after she gets fed up with the program. (And more continuity from Next Gen: B'Elanna says they were fighting monsters with bat'leths- sounds like it's Worf's program from the Enterprise!) She's upset, and Tom doesn't understand why, so they end up arguing until a random alien appears in the corridor, who seems not to know how he got there.
More of the aliens appear on the ship, and the Voyager crew soon realizes that one of their crewmembers disappears every time a new alien appears. It becomes a race to find out what's happening before the whole crew gets replaced, but as soon as B'Elanna realizes the seemingly innocent aliens are behind it themselves, she gets transported away by them. Once Chakotay and the last few crew realize the aliens are really an invading army, they do what they can to sabotage the ship, and save the Doctor's program before they get transported away too. (There's a nice scene on the bridge with Chakotay and Ensign Lang joking together when they end up the last ones left.)
(Side note: it's explicitly stated that there are 148 crew on board, but 5 crew have died since the last time there was stated to be 148 on board at the beginning of the season. They are definitely fudging the numbers so they can keep killing redshirts without cutting the crew down to half. I guess it could be construed that people are counting differently each time- someone might not have counted the baby, the Doctor, or Neelix and Kes among the crew, so that could explain the discrepency somewhat, but not entirely. )
The crew finds themselves in a holographic environment built for them by the aliens, which they aren't allowed to leave. They get help from a captive alien who sneaks in from another holographic environment, and the crew works on ways to get out. We get some nice character scenes here. Chakotay and Tuvok work together on modifying a phaser, and Tuvok tells Chakotay about living in the desert for four months as part of a Vulcan ritual, as their dislike for each other seems to be breaking down at last. B'Elanna modifies the Doctor's mobile emitter so he can see where there might be openings in the holographic environment that they could escape through, and he worries about being far from Voyager, while delivering a quip about being a tricorder now (funny, but also a missed opportunity to have him say 'I'm a doctor, not a tricorder', heehee!) The only thing that misses the mark is having Tom and B'Elanna continue to argue over the holodeck incident from earlier- it was the absolute perfect opportunity to have her open up to him about why she was so upset, and explain to him that she has complicated feelings about Klingon warrior stuff because of her messed up childhood, and that it's too loaded for her to engage with right then. It would have been a really nice way to bring them closer together, but instead they just have her not explain, and them both getting so upset that they childishly declare they won't talk to each other anymore- what?? It's so cliched and out of character. I can't count how many shows have couples argue for no reason, as if it were just a normal thing people do when they like each other, but considering half of this couple is certified mom friend Tom Paris, who's always patient and understanding, even with people who are truly awful to him, having him get angry with B'Elanna, who he's in love with, is the most out of character thing I can think of.
The Doctor ends up detecting the way out, and Janeway, Tuvok, Paris and Torres go investigate. Janeway goes with Tuvok, and tells Tom and B'Elanna to go look the other way. Of course it's a set up for Tom and B'Elanna to be forced to work together and rely on each other in the next scenes, so that they can come to realize that they care about each other too much to keep fighting. But it still would have been nice to have them actually talk about the real issue directly. The issue will come up again in later episodes, so maybe it's by design, but I think it would have been better to address it and move on from there, proceeding from a place of greater understanding- these two idiots have so much trauma in their pasts, they can absolutely find more things to have misunderstandings about and work on, even if they'd talked about this one issue.
But anyway, they figure out they're on a ship with dozens of holographic biospheres full of kidnapped people, and Janeway and Tuvok manage to break into the aliens computer pretty quickly, and use their own technology against them. Janeway has yet another one of her extremely badass Captain moments when she transports the alien leader off of Voyager, and threatens to leave him in the ice environment if he doesn't let everyone go, which he obviously does. I love it when bad guys get scared of Janeway!! Only a fool wouldn't be, tbh!
The crew gets back to Voyager, and we end with B'Elanna sitting next to Tom in the holodeck resort program. They have a very oblique reconciliation scene, where they only discuss what happened indirectly, but at least they've given up on arguing, and are clearly making an effort to cut each other some slack. While I would have liked things handled a little differently, they're still so painfully adorable together that I can't get too mad about it.
Tl;dr: An exciting and twisty alien invasion plot ep, with nice moments for many of the characters.

List of things I could talk about for ages (Miraculous Edition)
Julekka. Like everything about julekka. Her model dreams, her insecurities, her relationships with rose, Luka, and her father. I love her
Adrien. I feed off of Adrien Agreste angst. He is my triple A battery. Chat Blanc, his relationships with ladybug, Marinette, his father, his mother, Nathalie. His fears and dreams.
Marinette!!! Season 4 was nonstop tears. I would rant about her emotional state but not today. Also the way she is the straightest girl ever yet succeeds in making her female friendships the most queercoded things ever. LADYBUG LADYBUG LADYBUG.
Chloe’s scrapped redemption arc. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA it’s not fair it’s not fair it’s not fair.
OBLIVIO😍😍🤭🤩🤩.
Marinette’s breakdown at the end of s3 ep24.
Marinette and Alya’s friendship (did I say that already?) and how it grew in season 4
CATWALKER 😭.
Chloe’s relationships with her family!!!
The queer rep in this godforsaken show
