I’m rather intrigued by the new trailer for season 3 and especially by the whole “friendship” between Cressida and Eloise because for that to work there’s only two options really, they either make Eloise extremely unlikeable, or they make Cressida slightly more likeable. And if I’m quite honest I am not sure which one of the two I would be more interested in seeing.

On one hand option 1 would mean that they would pretty much have to have a redemption arc for a Bridgerton which I’m both too keen and not too keen on seeing for different reasons.

On the other hand option 2 would take a rather large chunk of time away from the main focus of the show (in my opinion) which is the leading couple of the season and the Bridgerton family in general.

So yeah… I’m a bit torn. I wanna see how it’s handled but I’m also almost certain I will not like it that much.

Bridgerton (Spoilers!)

Started to learn how the mechanics of how Bridgerton works. The close ups are what drive the tension of the romances. Season two has had more than any other season, and it is what helps make Kate and Anthony seem more “electric.” They also have a thing about their hands and being able to touch one another because there was a time they couldn’t. The addition of that, makes the moments they close up on their hands mean so much to the audience.

We get a few of those close up moments between Colin and Penelope, especially during and after the kiss, but they aren’t given much else to work with.

I don’t remember much of the first season, it’s been a minuet since I’ve watched that one, but I think it was so new and just the beginning of everything. The love story between Simon and Daphne doesn’t have much of its own character. Other than they were fake dating and their shared ideas in marriage that both changed at the same time which resulted due to them both falling in love.

I’m super late to the party, so this is not as well done as I would like. Usually, I’ve seen something three to five times before I write unnecessarily long text posts about them, but something about Penelope and Colin’s story feels missing.

This season is focusing on so many things, it feels like they are side characters in their own story, or that there is no lead at all. We don’t spend nearly enough time with Colin.

The level of mastery season two has showed, seems to only be reserved for Kate and Anthony, and that’s not fair.

I think the point is for every main couple of this show to be as swoon worthy as the next.

Aside from Penelope giving Colin a much needed telling off, there should have been more done between the sessions where he is tutoring her to be more charming. The moments that are supposed to show us just how much they desperately want each other, are much to short.

She tells him he has amazing eyes and is kind, she fixes his hand when’s it’s cut, and then they have a kiss.

What the fuck?

Where is the rest of it? Where is the longing? We spend so much time with so many other people and things, the audience barely gets the chance to appreciate these moments. However, there could have been more moments in between those to keep the charge alive and leave the audience at the edge of their seats until Colin and Penelope are back on the screen.

The finale scene was hot, but why cant we get more????

The sexy scenes were sexy, but why did we have to spend so much time watching Penelope’s family count her out? We know people don’t fuck with her for no reason. We didn’t need to see more of that.

If Colin and Penelope were alowed to be sexy all the time, I think season 3 part 1 could have went over better. At least to me if not to anybody else.

Maybe all the things I want to see will be in part two. But so far, there is so valid reason to cut such a short season into two parts.

But it ain’t even gotta be deep, it’s just me I guess
