just watched the pilot. this is skjdfhdkhg. first of all, i am pleased that stephanie beatriz picks such amazing projects. second of all. the animation?????? it is scratching my brain in all the right ways OH my GOD. i fucking love 2d animation & i will eat this shit up anyday over the ugly gray shit that hollywood spouts.

vaggie's full name is...vagina? i have been saying it vaj-ie in my head (ykwim) & that is probably her name? that's gotta be the funniest gag (if it's true)

the "angel" being a porn star is such a direct gag too my god & never have i ever been aroused by a 2d crack spider so much. huh. maybe i am a spidercreature too.

the colors, i am telling you, the colors. this is pushing me to pick up my sketchbook and work again. storyboard block destroyer.

the PREMISE is very interesting and hopefully scrumptious HELL of a ride to watch unfold & charlie is so adorable and hilarious to watch <3

thoughts so far: - pacing so far is a little bit off because i feel like we've gotten in 5 whole episodes and the story really has not moved very much except like a very small bit of character lore? usually i tend to know more about them by atleast ep 3 but however if they're making this a big part series i would understand - it is entertaining for sure but it would be REALLY worthwhile if they had the sex jokes be SLIGHTLY clever BUT. but. the way they did angel was very very refreshing because i am sick of the "slut" being a shitty person all the time in every other trope so i will give them that. - djkgfdhgkdjhgdjk i know that charlie is the main character but i don't really like her THAT much. like i understand she cares a lot about this thing & that she isn't really being allowed to do it her way BUT she's literally. the child of the devil himself, she's the princess of hell. she could be doing a lot more w her power. she needs to harness that. what is going on w that. i mean, why is she particularly the protagonist? she isn't doing it a lot for me. sfhkdgjdfg.

i was SO worried my vaggie/charlie thing would be weirded but i loved how charlie is this person looking to redeem people & vaggie is trying to redeem herself and i totally loved how simple and adorable this episodes entire thing was?

SUPER pumped that the show is getting better and better w each turn. i think w these episodes the previous pacing makes sense, i am really enjoying this hehehe. it is very, very fun.

Star Trek: TOS (S01E02) 'Charlie X' Airdate: September 15, 1966 Score: 7/10 *****SPOILERS BELOW***** Sometimes while getting ready for work I'll throw on SyFy or Chiller and they'll be running old episodes of the original 'Twilight Zone'. The last one I watched probably was a little over a month ago (I'd love to back and review those bit by bit like I'm doing here with the Star Trek franchise too), and it was eerily similar to this 'Charlie X' episode. It was from (S03E08) & the episode was titled 'It's a Good Life' where a small boy with incredible mental powers shut out the rest of the earth and the town he lived in was the only one left. Everyone was terrified to offend him, because he'd off them or turn them into a three headed goat and then just murder it... His Dad repeatedly saying 'It's a good thing you did, Anthony. A real good thing!' It was just, of course, out of fear to pacify him and to survive in their child created hell for as long as possible. It's one of those episodes you never forget, and 'Charlie X' will forever be linked to that episode in my mind. Once the crew realized that something wasn't right with Charlie, first passing it off as his lack of human contact, they started to back off. After Kirk straight up witnessed Charlie make another man disappear during a fighting training session it became all too clear the horror of the situation. Kirk wasn't going to back down, but he wasn't going to make any rash moves either. I just love all the long pauses and blank stares the crew exchanged as everyone was frightened to make any move at all... Really heightening the sense of confusion and terror among the crew members. Again, my experience with 'Star Trek' is limited, but these first few episodes feel like amped up science fiction versions of 'The Twilight Zone' and that's literally something I could zone out and watch for hours upon hours without sleep... Which probably is exactly what is about to happen.
