Tumblr media
It's not that you hated attention, but the sudden amount of it you seemed to be receiving made you a bit uneasy. You knew your costume was a bit more on the sexy side than you usually wear, but you weren't expecting it to cause a bunch of guys you didn't really know to migrate towards you like moths to a flame.
And it's not that Seungcheol didn't think you looked great, but the sudden amount of attention you were getting pissed him off.
Where were these guys when you were dressed normally? He glared at them. They only paid you attention because they liked your body now that they could make out more of it. They didn't care about you, just how you looked.
His hand was clenched tightly around his drink as he watched you closely from across the room. He could tell, though you were smiling and laughing, you were a bit uneasy from the attention.
If anyone looked at Seungcheol right now, it would be clear as day he was jealous. Not at the attention you were giving others, he knew, or at least hoped, you weren't interested in any of these guys. But you came to the party with him, and now you were spending it with others. He let out a deep sigh as you laughed at another joke.
He brought this on himself. He was the coward who never made a move or told you how he felt. Watching this must be his punishment.
Straightening up as a guy who had been heavily flirting with you, leaned in to whisper something in your ear, Seungcheol's blood ran hot.
Before you could respond to the man, your eye's shot over to Seokmin who turned the music off and stood up on a chair to announce something.
"The haunted maze is now open in the back!"
You felt a bit of relief at this, hoping some of the people surrounding you would leave to take part in the maze, and you could get a little space.
As some grabbed their friends and headed out, you were taken aback when a few of them all asked you to go with them. You heard a soft laugh from the guy beside you. He had been the one who whispered to you, asking if you were single. He had also been the one flirting with you the most during the party.
Suddenly his hand nudged yours as he smiled confidently at you, as if he knew you would choose him. "Let's go together."
Before you could reject him, you felt someone walk up behind you and wrap his arm around your waist. Looking back in alarm, your eyes met Seungcheol's familiar gaze and relief washed over you.
He smiled at you before he looked at the guy beside you. "Sorry, but we planned to go together already."
His arm left your waist as his hand slipped into yours, "Come on."
Turning and leaving with Seungcheol you let out a soft sigh as you looked over at him. Your words died in your throat as you saw the stone-cold look on his face. He didn't look back at you, and you wondered what happened to make him so mad.
Seokmin greeted the two of you happily, his eyes drifting down to your intertwined hands, and he repressed a grin as he gave Seungcheol a knowing look.
Seungcheol rolled his eyes as he walked with you towards the maze, his heart fluttering as he realized he was still holding your hand.
When you entered the maze, you glanced back at Seungcheol. His gaze wasn't as hard as it was before, but he still looked angry. Gently tugging at his arm, his eyes shot over to you.
"What's wrong?"
He hesitated to speak, not sure if or how he would tell you. Part of him wished it was obvious. He cleared his throat softly. "Nothing."
You frowned, wondering if you did something. Just as you opened your mouth to ask, a hand shot out of the maze with a loud scream, causing you and Seungcheol to both jump in surprise.
Seungcheol quickly pulled you away, as you clung onto him. Noticing this, his heart skipped a beat.
You let out a soft breath, "Why exactly did we come in here? We both hate this kind of thing."
He let out a soft laugh, "Good question."
His mind and body moved on their own before. When he heard those guys flirting with you and asking you to go into the maze with them, he felt nothing but jealousy and protectiveness. He was not going to let that happen. So, he swooped in and stole you away from them without really thinking about the maze itself.
You were growing more anxious as you went on, not just because of the maze, but because of Seungcheol's behavior. You couldn't shake the feeling that you had done something. Gently, as you made your way through a doorway, you released Seungcheol's arm and stepped away from him.
He did not fail to notice this, and his chest clenched when you did it. Why did you let go of him?
Another jump-scare had you both jolting forward and around a corner. You groaned but let out a soft laugh and Seungcheol chuckled.
Swallowed nervously he watched you closely as he spoke. "If you get scared you can hold onto me."
You scoffed softly with a playful tone in your voice. "Oh, you'd love that wouldn't you?"
He grinned, "Very much."
The way he said this made your heart skip as heat rose up your neck. You glanced at him and saw a smile that made your stomach fill with butterflies. The crush you had but pushed away floating to the surface again.
You repressed a grin, "And here I thought you were mad at me."
His eyes widened a bit as he frowned. "What?"
You looked at him pointedly and he realized why you thought that. He let out a soft sigh as he gently ruffled the back of your head, "I'm not mad at you. I'm sorry I made you think that."
"Then why won't you tell me why you are upset?"
He shrugged, his voice defensive. "Who said I am upset?"
You raised your brow, "Your face does, you looked like you wanted to kill someone earlier. But it's fine, you don't have to tell me."
The sulkiness in your tone as you walked ahead of him pouting made him grin. He let out a sigh as he repressed the urge to tell you how cute you were when you were like this. It drove him crazy.
Seungcheol took a few large quick steps to catch up to you, just as he got to your side. Someone (you would later find out to be Hoshi) dressed as a clown ran past screaming.
You stepped back in fear, avoiding him as he ran past. Instinctively, you grabbed onto Seungcheol for safety.
Seungcheol let out an annoyed groan at the scare, before he looked at you to see if you were alright. Noticing you were clinging onto him again, he grinned as he gently walked with you, hoping you wouldn't pull away from him again.
He kept his hand encased over yours as you gripped his arm, walking close together. "I'm sorry I dragged you in here." He said after you both flinched from a sudden noise.
You let out a soft laugh, "It's okay, I'd rather be here than back out there."
He looked over at you, "If you were uncomfortable you should have texted me, or given me a look, I would have come saved you."
You smiled softly, "I thought about it, but I didn't want to be rude to them or take you away from whatever it was you were doing."
He let out a soft breath, "What I was doing was standing nearby watching you to make sure none of those guys did anything inappropriate."
Your head snapped towards him, "You were watching me?"
He faltered to speak for a moment, unable to tell if you were angry, or just surprised. "Well... yeah?"
You watched him for a second before you let out a soft laugh and pinched him, making him hiss.
"Next time come save me yourself, jerk."
He grinned to himself, but also felt frustration at the fact he hadn't helped you when it turned out you wanted it.
You faltered in your steps a bit and looked over at him. Catching your eye, he tilted his head in question, but you looked away, keeping silent.
If he had been watching you that whole time, what made him so angry? Could it be that they were flirting? Or that that one guy got so close? Or maybe you were just imagining things. You let out a soft sigh as you confused yourself with your thoughts.
"Oh!! The exit!" You yelled in excitement as you suddenly saw the exit appear as you rounded a corner. "Come on!"
Seungcheol suddenly felt his chest tighten, the fear that if you exited, he would lose his chance all over again.
He stopped, making you halt as well. "Wait."
"What?" You looked around, wondering if he saw or heard something.
He swallowed as he looked over at you. "I was jealous."
Your heart skipped, "Huh?"
When he spoke, his words tumbled out quickly, knowing if he took too long to think about it, he might fail to say what he really wanted to.
"I was jealous. That was why I looked so angry before. I hated that those guys were getting all of your attention."
"You didn't like that I was paying attention to them and not you?" You couldn't hide the growing amusement in your voice and Seungcheol groaned.
"Don't make it sound like I'm a child!"
You laughed, "What? I didn't. I just... why were you jealous? And I don't mean of what, I mean why."
He looked around, making sure you were still alone, "Well I- I was afraid you might end up liking one of them, and-" You tilted your head as you listened, and his heart fluttered. He sighed, unable to take it anymore. "I like you, okay?"
Your eyes widened at the sudden blunt confession. "What?"
"I like you; I always have. As more than a friend. I've been wanting to tell you for a while, but... I'm a coward." He let out a soft scoff.
All your thoughts came to a crashing halt as your heart seemed to stop beating for a moment.
"You're not a coward Seungie."
The sudden use of the pet-name made his stomach flutter as he clenched his eyes shut. Were you about to let him down gently?
He let out a soft breath as he looked at you again. "I am."
"Then we are both cowards." He frowned at this, and you smiled softly, "I didn't tell you how I felt either."
His eyes widened a bit as he questioned you with his gaze before he spoke softly, as if he might scare you off if he spoke. "How you-... Y/n, do you like me too?"
His heart was racing now. In all this time he spent tormenting himself about telling you his feelings, he only ever saw the fact you might feel the same as a miracle.
You nodded softly, "I do. I guess neither of us considered the fact it might be mutual."
You let out a soft giggle at Seungcheol's bewildered face. The sound made a smile slowly spread across his face as he let out a soft scoff.
"Wait, wait." He brought his hands to your shoulders and looked directly into your eyes, making you freeze up nervously.
"So, we like each other?"
"I think that's what just happened, yes." You chuckled.
He stared at you as he slowly grinned, "I feel like I'm dreaming."
You bit back a laugh. "Do you want me to pinch you again?"
He chuckled as he shook his head, "No," his eyes suddenly flicked to your lips as a sly smile spread across his face, he leaned a little closer and spoke a bit softer. "But you can kiss me."
Your breath caught in your throat as you opened your mouth in shock. Gently smacking his chest you looked around, "Seungcheol!"
He giggled, "What?" Suddenly he seemed to be filled with confidence now that he knew his feelings were returned. He spent all this time pining, why not do something now that he can?
"You don't want too?"
You bit your lip, and he saw you fighting a smile. "Not here!" You said resolutely and he chuckled.
Taking your hand in his, he grinned. "Okay." Suddenly leading you towards the exit, you let out a soft laugh. He looked back at you. "Then we'll go somewhere else!"
You felt like you had the whole zoo rampaging through your stomach as you let him lead you out of the maze, through the packed party and all the way to his car.
Stopping by the passenger side door he turned back to you, suddenly stepping close to you as he peered into your eyes. "Is here okay? I was gonna wait until I drove you home, but-" he gently caressed your cheek, "I really don't want to wait anymore."
Biting the inside of your cheek, you looked around, not seeing anyone close by you shyly met his gaze as you nodded softly.
Smiling, he slowly leaned in closer, his hand cupping your cheek. Your noses brushed as he kept his eyes locked with yours. He went slow, making sure you weren't going to pull away. When you didn't, he closed the gap between you and pressed his lips gently against yours.
You showed no reservation, so he deepened the kiss, slowly. When you began returning the kiss, your hand gently gripping his shirt, he placed his hand on your back and pulled you flush against him.
Seungcheol would be lying if he said he had never imagined kissing you before. But he would not be lying if he said it was a thousand times better than what he imagined.
His heart fluttered and he felt like he could float away out of pure happiness. Naturally, the kiss became more passionate, both of you getting lost in each other. Your arms were now linked around his neck as one of his hands weaved messily through your hair.
You only pulled away when you heard a loud wolf whistle from nearby, causing you to look around. Seeing your friends Joshua and Vernon, trash bags in hand as they teased you.
"It's about time!" Joshua yelled as Vernon gave Seungcheol a thumbs-up
"Oh my God." You groaned as you buried your face in Seungcheol's chest.
He let out a chuckle as he shooed the boys away, his own ears burning from being caught.
"Come on." He chuckled as he pulled open the car door for you, leaning in, he spoke words that made your face burn hot, "We can continue this privately."

wanna know a hill i would gladly fucking die on??
i know for a FACT that a hug for seungcheol would change the entire trajectory of my life. like, you cannot tell me that a hug from this man would not be the most life-altering experience known to man.
this man is 1000% a phenomenal hugger. you cannot convince me that a hug from ANYONE else would have the same impact as a seungcheol hug 😤

i can't stop thinking about seungcheol, literally.
seungcheol fighting with you because you didn't call him to pick you up after work just because you thought he was tired. "i'm never tired enough for you".
seungcheol being understandable about you ditching him for a day or two because your bestie has broken up with her girlfriend and needs some support (just don't forget to tell him every single detail about the gossip though 👀).
seungcheol trying to get up on his own in the middle of the night and almost getting himself (more) hurt because of his knee. he didn't want to wake you up :( plus he can do it by himself!! he always did.
seungcheol sending you texts to see if you have eaten through the day. you know, just checking up on you.
seungcheol cuddling you in the night and mumbling things in his sleep, making you smile.
seungcheol. just choi seungcheol.

svt as boyfriends ♡ seungcheol edition
Tumblr media
member: seungcheol x reader genre: fluff, bullet points word count: 876 summary: seungcheol's boyfriend things warnings: none!! author's note: this was so close to not being posted in time...I just worked two 10 hour shifts in a row and i am so tired...anyway, i hope you all enjoy this small fluff piece <3 happy birthday seungcheol !!!
Tumblr media
Okay so Seungcheol is what I like to call “The Boyfriend Material” and I have a feeling all you couprangs will agree with my genius
Cheol is the booktok boyfriend, jeans made 100% out of boyfriend material
Quality Time
Seungcheol loves when you get chaotic. He’s used to dealing with twelve idiots (loving) every day, and adding another one to the list is no biggie! He loves to spend time with you, especially when you go out with your friends.
If you go to a club or even just to hang out at the park with your closest friends, Cheol will be perfectly content sitting quietly next to you, his arm over your shoulder, or his head resting on yours
He likes to see you happy, and if that means tagging along to all the events you go to, then so be it!
He would definitely want you to hang out with his best friends too, and you have quickly learned in your relationship, that even though Cheol is usually calm and collected, he becomes the most…energetic person when he is with his friends
If he is gaming with Wonwoo, or some other friends, he would love for you to just sit with him! Reading a book, drawing, or just dining something relaxing next to him as he tries to absolutely destroy his friends in the online world
Though, dates are definitely Seungcheol’s best version of Quality Time - mans knows how to treat you !!!
Cute dates like picnics or stargazing, where the two of you are in public, but are still away from public eye, are his forte
Words of Affirmation
SEUNGCHEOL IS THE ABSOLUTE KING OF PETNAMES
Anything he can come up with, he will call you it
This can range from something cute like “sweetie” or “darling” to the other end of the spectrum that makes your heart race a bit more than you would like, with him calling you “baby/babygirl/babyboy” or “prince/princess”
He knows that you love him, and you know that he loves you, so knowing that his major way of showing affection to you is talking oh so proudly about you when you’re not around, is totally acceptable in your relationship
He loves bragging about you and telling fin stories to your (and his) friends about funny moments between you from dates and just casually hanging out
He never fails to compliment you when you do something you’re proud of, or if you look particularly cuddle-able one day
“Sweetie, you look absolutely adorable in that sweater! Is it new?”
AAAA choi seungcheol boyfriend material
Physical Touch
Who is one of those members that is constantly koala hugging his dongsaengs? That’s right, it’s Seungcheol, and that DEFINITELY does not stop him from constantly wanting your attention
This could be through regular morning cuddles when you both wake up a bit too early for your liking, watching movies together, playing games or even when seeing each other for the first time in a couple hours
Seungcheol would love to just attack you in hugs when you get home from school or work
He would also be the king of small pda: holding hands when you’re walking together, putting his hand on your back when you’re going up and down stairs or going up a hill, putting his arm around your shoulder when you’re sitting next to each other in the park
Seungcheol just loves being around you and cuddling you please just let the poor, attention starved man hug you 10,000 times a day
Acts of Service
My favorite thing about Seungcheol is his Boyfriend Material Acts of Service™
He LOVES sharing hoodies and shirts: whether it is you giving him a hoodie or him giving you one, he doesn’t care as long as someone is wearing the other person’s clothes
Helps with laundry because everything has to be perfectly clean, smelling nice and soft, otherwise it’s not worth being worn by you !!!
He loves helping you !!! Like if you have a big project or exam for school or work, he’ll be right next to you helping you out!
If you need flashcards to study for an exam, he’s right there asking you questions!
If you need a second opinion on this presentation, he’s telling you what websites to use for themes…
He loves you, and he wants to prove that by helping you with the little things <3
Gift Giving
You know how Ken’s job is just Beach? Well Cheol’s job is just Wallet
Seungcheol loves surprising you with things!!! Whether it be your favorite snack for movie nights or a random coffee when he gets home in the mornings
Or even !!! buying little trinkets for around your home that remind you both of each other
He’ll also surprise you with a cute outfit one in a while, or a piece of jewelry you have been eyeing lately
Mans earns plenty of money and he just wants to spend it all on you <3
You have student loans? Cheol is begging you to let him help you, even if you want to be independent with things like that
People say money doesn’t buy happiness but Seungcheol’s gifts reminds you of him…so I guess that counts as buying happiness

💎🍒 Day 25: Summer flu
@sicktember
Summary: Dance practice is hard when the A/C breaks down in the middle of the summer and you’re already sick.
CW: mentions of nausea
Sickie: S.Coups/Seungcheol Caretaker: whole team
“You did well! Let’s take a ten minute break”, Hoshi called out, causing cheers and a sigh of relief to run through the members. “Drink enough, please. We don’t need anybody to get dehydrated!”
Seungcheol collapsed to the ground where he stood, laying down against the warm floor. The A/C was broken, barely cooling down the air at all and causing the members to basically melt the moment they stepped into the practice room. Why did it have to break in the middle of a July heat wave? Maintenance had promised to fix it soon but that didn’t help Seungcheol’s situation now at all.
He had woken up with a headache and a slight feeling of general malaise, which had turned into coughing sometime around lunch. He had pushed through and back then he really had thought he would be fine. But now?
His head was pounding badly and his chest was aching with suppressed coughs. He could feel the sticky heat of the room around him, yet he was chilled to the core. His skin was sensitive against anything it touched, his drenched and sweat-soaked - though he supposed not only by produced by the dancing - clothes feeling like torture where they clung to him.
Seungcheol was content to lie there forever, as long as it meant he wasn’t disturbed and had to dance again. He didn’t think he could make it through the rest of the practice, not even sure he could last the next hour. He felt awful and every sound the other members made, made him want to cry as they overstimulated him.
Way too soon he was pulled from his daze by a voice by his ear saying: “You heard the man. Drink, Coups-yah.”
Blinking open his aching eyes Seungcheol was greeted by Jeonghan squatting at his side. The younger had his hair pulled back in a ponytail, two dark locks framing his face. He looked exhausted and yet a thousand times better than Seungcheol felt. Where did Jeonghan of all people get the energy to walk around in these conditions?
“Not thirsty”, he mumbled, closing his eyes again.
“Yah! Don’t do this. No thirst in these conditions can mean you’re already dehydrated”, Jeonghan scolded. Jeonghan might be right - he often was - but that didn’t mean Seungcheol wanted to sit up and drink.
When Seungcheol didn’t act on Jeonghan’s words, his best friend decided to take matters into his own hands. Without any warning Seungcheol found himself flung upright into a sitting position. The changed position nearly made him cry; his head pounded even worse at the motions, everything swirled a bit and for a second he felt like he was about to be sick.
“Drink”, Jeonghan commanded in his no-nonsense voice.
Seungcheol withstood his urge to whimper in pain, instead just silently took the bottle from Jeonghan’s hand and took a few sips. It didn’t settle well in his stomach, so he stopped after a few drinks. Sharp cramps assaulted his stomach and he groaned.
“You okay?”, Jeonghan asked, instantly switching to worry at the sound.
Seungcheol didn’t get a chance to reply because at that moment Joshua and Dino returned from their bathroom break and Hoshi clapped his hands. “Let’s continue, guys! I know it’s hot but we can do it. If you need a break, let us know. Don’t push yourselves!”
“Alright, come on”, Jeonghan said, worry pushed aside for the sake of much needed practice before their next shows, and stood up and reached his hands down to Seungcheol to help him up.
Seungcheol grasped his hands but as he tried to get any leverage to pull himself up, he came up short. His joints were trembling and weak, every single muscle protesting movement and hurting. If he was honest with himself, Seungcheol knew he was done for the day. His energy was completely depleted and just thinking about dancing for at least another two hours made him want to cry.
Actually, there were already tears in his eyes, his throat tight with emotion. There was no way he could do this any longer.
“I can’t … I don’t think I can get up again”, he whispered, bowing his head in shame.
💎
Instantly the room, previously filled with sounds of chattering and laughter as they took their positions, went dead silent.
“Cheollie?”, Jeonghan filled the silence, sounding lost. He knelt back down in front of Seungcheol, just as the room exploded with questions and worries.
“Did he get hurt?”
“Is he alright?”
“Did I push you all too hard?”
“What’s wrong with him?”
“No, we’re fine.”
“Hey, Cheollie, look at me, please”, Jeonghan mumbled, brushing back Seungcheol’s hair from his face. His cold fingers were just a soft touch against Seungcheol’s burning forehead but he found himself chasing the feeling when Jeonghan moved to pull away again.
Instantly the cool hand was back, pressing against Seungcheol’s brow and he sighed in relief.
“He’s burning up”, Jeonghan announced to the other members, a hint of surprise in his voice. “No wonder you feel so wretched, huh?”
Seungcheol shrugged. It was then that the coughs he had been suppressing all through the practice wanted out. He didn’t even have the strength to lift his arm to cover his mouth, he just let it happen. His body shook from the force of it all, the dry cough shredding his throat. Jeonghan’s hand fell from his forehead and he whimpered at the loss, causing more coughs.
He coughed over and over again, causing tears to rise to his eyes again. He must look pathetic like this but for once he couldn’t care that his members saw him like this, sick and weak.
Instantly at least two hands came to rest on his back, another patted his shoulder and somebody took his hand, none of them caring about possible contagion.
When he managed to stop coughing minutes later and opened his eyes again, he found himself surrounded by his members. Jeonghan was still kneeling in front of him but now Wonwoo and Dino were behind him, comforting him, while Seungkwan now rubbed his shoulders and neck, and he recognized the soft hand in his as Jihoon’s.
Hoshi was standing behind Jeonghan, Dokyeom draped over his back, looking sad.
“I’m sorry, hyung”, he said shakily, “I should have noticed.”
Instantly Jihoon stood up and walked over to comfort him, Seungcheol’s hand instantly taken by Joshua.
“It’s not your fault, Soonie”, Seungcheol whispered, wincing at how rough his voice sounded and how bad his throat hurt, “I didn’t think it would get this bad this quickly.”
“You could have let us know that you didn’t feel well, darling”, Jeonghan said, lifting his hand to cup Seungcheol’s cheek.
“I thought I could get through the practice. I need it”, Seungcheol whispered, ashamed, “I was out so long for my knee … I didn’t want to let you down again.”
💎
“You have never let us down, Cheollie”, Joshua insisted instantly, a chorus of agreement following.
“Hyung, you were injured, you would never blame one of us for that”, Wonwoo replied.
“You’re being ridiculous, hyung. You could never let us down, even sick or injured or whatever”, Jihoon added.
At the kind words, Seungcheol’s tears spilled over his cheeks and then he was crying for real. The hands holding him never let go and he was pulled into a tight embrace by Jeonghan, who kissed the top of his head gently.
“It’s okay, we got you. Let it out”, he whispered.
It didn’t take long for Seungcheol’s sobs to turn into renewed coughing. He tried to pull away but Jeonghan didn’t let him. Too exhausted to pull away, Seungceol violently coughed against his chest, shaking badly. He felt so hot in Jeonghan’s embrace but he didn’t have the strength to fight it and he needed a hug so badly.
At one point the coughing was so bad he feared he was about to throw up but luckily it didn’t happen. Instead, finally completely exhausted, he slumped bonelessly against his best friend.
“Oh, Cheollie”, Jeonghan cooed, “let’s get you home, hm? I think you caught yourself a lovely summer flu.”
“It’s not lovely, but yeah, I think so too”, Seungcheol mumbled. “I’m so hot.”
Nearly instantly an icepack was pressed to his forehead, courtesy of Vernon and Minghao. He hadn’t even noticed them leave the room but they currently were his favorite members.
“Thanks”, he mumbled.
“What are your symptoms, hyung?”, Seungkwan asked worriedly.
“Headache. Cough. Sore throat. Bit of nausea”, Seungcheol admitted.
“And an impressive fever, I’d say”, Jeonghan added. “Wonwoo, could you?”
Normally that would have been unacceptable but now he just closed his eyes and let himself be lifted into Wonwoo’s arms bridal style.
“Rest, hyung”, the rapper said gently, “we got you.”
“I’ll even make your favorite soup at home. How does that sound?”, Mingyu asked.
“Lovely, thank you, baby.” And then. “I’m so thankful to all of you”, Seungcheol managed to whisper, hoping the members heard him.
“You got it wrong, hyung”, Jun said, coming up to stroke Seungcheol’s hair, “we’re thankful to have you every day.”
“We would never have made it without you, hyungie”, Minghao added.
Dino agreed easily. “Best leader S.Coups!”
“What they said, hyung”, Vernon added, clearly a bit unsure on how to handle his hyung breaking down in front of them. When he opened his eyes to check on the younger, he found Dino and Seungkwan already clinging to him. Satisfied, Seungcheol let his head slump against Wonwoo’s shoulder.
“I love you all. More than you’ll ever know.” His voice was slurred with tiredness and another cough shook him.
“We love you too”, all the members echoed. Another kiss was pressed to his hair, Seungcheol was pretty sure it was Seokmin’s aftershave he smelled.
Seungcheol let himself be comforted by the rumbling of Wonwoo’s chest and if the younger felt the new wave of tears soaking his shirt he didn’t say anything.

Notes: The 'too much' refers to either the time spent outside in the pool in the late fall, or Jeonghan's cheating habits. Also temps are in Celsius for authenticity.
It was just another GOSE game. And the game was simple: capture the flag. Jeonghan’ task was even simpler: distract the opposing team’s guards so Seungkwan could swoop in and steal their flag. That task was made even easier with the presence of the open pool near where the blue team had hidden their flag. And, of course, Seungcheol and Joshua had been chosen as defenders. It was like a slam dunk for the green team, Jeonghan thought to himself.
So, with zero warning, Jeonghan emerged from behind the building (which was, obviously, out of bounds), and threw his entire body against Joshua’s, sending him flying into the pool. Seongcheol barely had time to react to Joshua’s scream and the splash of the water before Jeonghan had wrapped his arms around the rapper and sent them both careening into the water.
“YOON JEONGHAN!” Joshua was yelling when Seongcheol resurfaced, coughing up a mouthful of freezing, chlorinated water. Jeonghan was laughing like a madman.
“What the HELL?!” the leader cried, desperately scrubbing water and his hair out of his eyes.
“I’m stopping you two from winning the game!” Jeonghan exclaimed. He hit the water victoriously. “MASTER of distraction!”
“Master asshole, more like it.” Seungcheol splashed at Jeonghan, feeling a spark of pride when the vocalist squawked in indignation.
“Cheollie, there are cameras,” Jeonghan gasped.
“Serves you right!” Joshua splashed at Jeonghan too. This time, the guilty man just giggled manically, splashing back at both of his friends. The splashing continued for a while until all three were laughing at the absurdity of it.
Seungkwan ran around the corner at that moment. He stopped in his tracks, then laughed aloud. “What’re you doing?!” he exclaimed.
“Kwannie! Get the flag!” Jeonghan called, pulling back on Joshua’s arm and Seungcheol’s shirt. “I distracted the guards!” Seungkwan snapped back into attention, snatching the flag from the nearby tree and racing back towards the front of the house.
“I really can’t believe you,” Seungcheol sighed, deflating a bit in Jeonghan’s grip as the adrenaline of the game wore off.
“What can I say? I like to win.” Jeonghan shrugged.
“Oh, we’re aware.” Joshua jumped on Jeonghan from behind, hands on the older man’s shoulders and pushing him under the water. Jeonghan flailed, and his friends laughed as he resurfaced and spit the water out of his mouth.
Seokmin and Mingyu rounded the corner, Soonyoung fast behind them, and all of them started laughing immediately.
“We can’t leave the three of you alone for a second, can we?” Soonyoung teased, hands on his hips.
“Seriously! It’s like… 7 degrees out here!” Mingyu exclaimed. “Are you crazy?!”
“Hannie is! He pushed us!” Seungcheol argued, pointing at the culprit. “Why did you guys let the most notorious cheater past the defense line?!”
“I don’t… I seriously don’t know how he got back here,” Soonyoung wondered, looking back and forth from the pool to where they’d come from. “Hyung you didn’t…”
“Oh, I totally went out of bounds.” Jeonghan nodded proudly. “Come on, what do you take me for? An amateur?”
“Well, joke’s on you, cause our team won anyway.” Seokmin crossed his arms over his chest with the bravado of a comic book hero. “Mingyu accidentally tripped Seungkwan, and Hoshi grabbed the flag and took us to victory.” The vocalist high fives the dancer with more dramatic flair than wholly necessary. Jeonghan splashed at the water in equally exaggerated defeat. Seungcheol and Joshua high fived as well, the elder adding an extra splash in Jeonghan’s direction for good measure.
“Now what is this?” Jihoon sighed, hands on his hips as he approached the pool, Wonwoo and Hansol in tow.
“Hannie-hyung pushed them in so his team could get the flag,” Mingyu explained.
Jihoon shook his head. “Aren’t you supposed to be the most mature members of the group?”
“Age is just a number,” Jeonghan replied. Jihoon simply shook his head again.
“Alright, you goofs, get out of the pool.” At the voice on their manager (as always, outwardly disappointed but with a hint of amusement), the three eldest members quickly left the water. The chill of the late autumn air bit at their skin immediately.
“We uh… we don’t have any extra clothes,” the director said guiltily.
“I told them we should’ve covered the pool!” their manager hissed, not so much at the director, but to the universe. “I told them! These boys are NUTS!”
“It’s okay. It’s our fault, we can deal with the consequences,” Seungcheol assured the director.
“Besides, Carats are gonna love this!” Soonyoung squeezed Seungcheol’s bicep, which was starkly visible with his wet shirt clinging to the muscle. Seokmin ‘oooohhh’ed’ and reached to caress the leader’s chest as well, but that got both of them a sharp smack to the hand.
“Okay, okay, focus, boys. Let’s get this outro done and get you back home,” their manager stepped in. Seungcheol mouthed a ‘thank you’ to him as the group huddled up to recap their game of capture the flag. The three eldest were grouped all the way to the left, dripping water onto the door deck, a puddle amassing beneath them. Seungcheol wrapped his arms around both Jeonghan and Joshua when the latter had surrendered to his shivering and hugged his arms around himself. The leader couldn’t help but pinch at Jeonghan’s side, his most ticklish spot, causing a poorly restrained spasm of movement that got all three of them giggling. Watching it all, their manager couldn’t help but smile too. His boys were absolutely insane, but he wouldn’t have them any other way.
Two days later, their manager decided he certainly WOULD like to have his group be a LITTLE more level headed when he had to physically force Seungcheol to ‘go home’ from practice because he ‘couldn’t stop coughing’ and was ‘running a fever.’ This was followed by Joshua almost fainting in the middle of the studio for the same reason. And, their manager though, honestly, if the eldest members wasn’t cooperating, what kind of example was that for the rest of the group? A pretty damning example given the stunts these boys tended to pull to play healthy; their manager certainly admired their work ethic, but there had to be a line, right?
So that was how the entire 95 line ended up staying home instead of going out for weekend shenanigans with the team: Seungcheol and Joshua miserably ill (and guilt-tripped by their manager,) and Jeonghan as punishment for that. Admittedly, it was a self-appointed ‘punishment;’ Jeonghan did honestly feel horrifically guilty that his actions had caused his best friends to get sick, (cause what else would it have been besides their jaunt in the freezing pool?) and genuinely wanted to make up for that.
The first problem was the Seungcheol and Joshua were both in that hazy stage of a cold where the brain either hyper-fixated on very small things, or constantly teetered the line of unconsciousness. And while Joshua was so adorably the second, Seungcheol was very hung up on the fact that this situation was entirely Jeonghan’s fault.
Which did not help the second problem: something about having to take care of Seungcheol and Joshua just automatically put Jeonghan in silly goose mode.
After the rest of practice without his friends, Jeonghan had told the rest of the group to go out and enjoy their night; he would shower last and bear the burden to dealing with the sick members. Therefore, Jeonghan was upstairs when the door finally closed behind Soonyoung and Seungkwan, who had been hesitant to leave their hyungs alone for even a second, despite Seungcheol’s adamance that they were fine (Joshua zoning out was not helping his case). When he was finally showered and ready, Jeonghan skipped the last few steps, wincing at the sound of coughing coming from the living room.
He found both of his invalids on the couch, Joshua’s laying listlessly with his head in Seungcheol’s lap. The leader was scrolling on his phone as Toy Story played on the TV. It took Jeonghan a minute to realize the movie was in English. Joshua looked like he was barely paying attention, eyes heavy, but Seungcheol had likely picked the language to comfort him; Shua tended to favor English when he wasn’t feeling his best.
“Hey.” Seungcheol looked up at Jeonghan’s voice, expression unreadable. Jeonghan settled with his elbows on the back of the couch. “What do you guys want to do tonight?”
Joshua mumbled something.
“What was that, love?” Jeonghan asked. Silence.
“I think his fever’s up.” Seungcheol ran his fingers through Joshua’s hair.
Jeonghan frowned. “Well then I’m gonna go get dinner ready so we can get him medicated.”
“Not me, though?” Seungcheol’s eyes were comically large as he looked up at Jeonghan.
The younger man flicked his forehead. “I wish your fever was up so you’d shut your mouth.”
“Rude,” Seungcheol replied, swatting at Jeonghan’s hand.
Jeonghan just laughed, pushing away from the couch to prepare dinner. Luckily, Mingyu, the angel, had made soup for him already, without even being asked. Jeonghan considered using the microwave, but opted to heat the soup up on the stove instead. It only took a minute or two more.
“Dinner’s ready!” he called finally. At his voice, Joshua instantly stumbled off the couch and to the table, but Seungcheol didn’t move, squinting skeptically towards Jeonghan.
“Did you make it?” he asked.
Jeonghan rolled his eyes. “No. Mingyu did.”
“Thank god.” With a sigh, Seungcheol got up and pulled out the chair next to Joshua. The youngest of the trio was staring absently at the table, only half listening to the bickering around him. Seungcheol rubbed the younger’s neck a few times, frowning at the lack of response from Joshua.
“Um, excuse me, I think I could make a mean soup if given the opportunity. It’s not my fault Mingyu got to the utensils first.” Jeonghan slid one steaming bowl across the table, steering it in front of Joshua, who picked up the accompanying spoon as if on autopilot.
Seungcheol scoffed. “We all know that you and the kitchen do not mix.”
“Hey! I willingly stayed back here to nurse your sorry asses back to health! I think you owe me a little more respect.”
“Only after you got us sick in the first place!”
“What happened to ‘we can deal with the consequences?’” Jeonghan teased. The look in Seungcheol’s eyes was pure murder. But Yoon Jeonghan was nothing if not a brazen idiot who lived directly in the leader’s soft spot. The smile on his face said as much as he placed two more bowls on the table and pushed one towards the leader. He sat down to his bowl with a flourish. “So what do we want to do tonight, boys?”
“Cuddle.” Both Seungcheol and Jeonghan immediately softened at Joshua’s simple answer.
Jeonghan reached out to pat Joshua’s wrist lovingly. “I think we can manage that.”
“Only if you aren’t afraid to deal with any potential consequences,” Seungcheol teased, including spirits fingers on the word of the day.
“When are you gonna let this go?” Jeonghan whined.
Seunghceol shrugged innocently. “I just think you should have to deal with some consequences too.”
“Joshuji!!!” The younger man looked up from his soup with wide eyes. “Help me out here. Do you forgive me?”
Joshua stared at him, the wheels in his brain taking a minute to catch up. “I forgive you…” he said finally. Jeonghan cheered while Seongcheol groaned. “But…” All eyes were back on Joshua. “I won’t forget.”
The silence was broken by Seungcheol’s laughter. “Shua, what does that even mean?” Joshua shrugged. Both Seungcheol and Jeonghan burst into laughter with that. And Joshua, completely unaware what they were laughing at, laughed with them, simply happy to bring his friends joy.

Pairing: S.Coups | Seungcheol x Gn!Reader
Warnings: Mildly suggestive content (kissing)
Words: ~2.3k
Tumblr media
Worry sat heavy in your chest as you stared out at the heavy snowstorm outside of your cabin. Seungcheol chatted nervously in the background with the owner of the cabin you were renting. From their conversation you knew there was a chance the power could shut off at any moment. You hoped you would have the heat running long enough to warm the large house before that happened.
You and Seungcheol made the decision to come to the cabin a day before the others so you could get everything ready for your winter vacation. You arrived late in the day due to traffic delays, and now the sun had set and the storm was getting stronger each moment. Now, you feared the trip might not happen at all.
You had texted the others, telling them to stay put until you knew how the weather would play out. The storm could last the night and be over by the morning, or you could be stuck the whole weekend, just the two of you. You felt anxious butterflies fill your stomach at the thought.
Seungcheol groaned as he hung up the phone. "This place apparently doesn't have a backup generator so lets get some stuff ready in case the power does go out."
You nodded as you ran to unpack and fetch any light sources and blankets you could find. Eyeing the small stack of wood by the fireplace you bit your lip.
"I hope that's enough wood."
Seungcheol looked over as he heard you, his own chest tightening with worry as he saw how small the pile of wood was. He knew with how bad the snow outside was, there was no way to make it to the storage shed to get more.
"We'll be alright." He said encouragingly, and you smiled at him in response with a nod, hoping he was right.
After you brought out some candles and flashlights, as well as locating all of the blankets in case you would need them, you made your way to your room to unpack your things.
Now alone in your own room, your thoughts began to wander. Not too far, but instead to the man you heard rummaging a few rooms away.
It wasn't a secret that you had feelings for Seungcheol. Not to you, not to the others, and not even to Seungcheol himself. You also knew he had feelings for you. But it was an unspoken agreement that nothing would happen.
It was never discussed, but you two knew each other well enough to know you were both afraid it wouldn't end well. Not to mention the fear of it accidentally becoming public. There was too much to worry about for you to really commit to a relationship, so one never formed.
Sometimes you regretted it, well, a lot of times you regretted it. And honestly, if he made a move, or confessed you wouldn't run from it. You'd be more than happy to be with him, but you had decided to never make the first move. There would be more risk for him in the relationship, so you left the final decision to him, as much as it hurt sometimes.
Your body froze as the lights flickered. You eyed them suspiciously as the wind outside blew harder, almost shaking the window panes.
"Uh-oh." You muttered to yourself, your heart dropping as the lights shut off, leaving you in pitch darkness.
Feeling around blindly for your phone, you had the sudden realization that you left it downstairs in the kitchen.
"Damn!" You cursed as you made your way slowly to the door.
"Seungcheol?" You called out, but heard nothing in response, sending an uneasy chill down your spine. "Where did you go?" You muttered as you stepped out into the hall.
As you collided with something you yelped out, as you felt an arm wrap around your waist to steady you.
Seungcheol's voice instantly soothed your alarm as he chuckled "Its just me!"
"God, Seungcheol! Why didn't you respond when I called out to you!"
"Sorry, I was trying to get my phone from my pocket."
"I left mine downstairs."
He chuckled softly under his breath as you suddenly saw his face light up in front of you as he turned on his phone screen.
Your breath caught as you realized just how close he was. Your hand was flat on his chest from when you collided. His eye caught yours and you saw a smirk playing at his lips, causing you to remove your hand and step away as his hand fell away from your waist.
His hand took hold of yours as he turned towards the staircase with a smile, "Let's go downstairs."
You followed him closely, stepping just behind him as you stayed in the light of his phone.
Once you retrieved your own phone, the two of you gathered in the living room, a faint white glow filled the room as the bright snow from outside reflected eerily into the cabin.
You could hear the faint padding of snow hitting the window among the howling wind as the storm raged on outside. Sitting on the couch, you leaned against the back as you looked out the window, seeing nothing but the violent swirls of white.
"It didn't get too warm in here but at least it's not freezing." He muttered as he turned on a few small lantern lights. After he lit a few candles he settled beside you.
You nodded as you hoped the temperature wouldn't drop too quickly. Putting your chin on the back of the couch, you stared out into the snow, unaware of Seungcheol's gaze as he studied you.
The dim light from the room lit up your face enough for him to see you clearly. He rested his head on his arm as he watched you watch the storm. He was filled with nervous excitement the whole way to the cabin. A feeling he was used to when he was around you.
Now, as you were snowed-in together, just the two of you, these feelings heightened. He could sense the tension of unspoken feelings between you, and the urge to act on said feelings grew stronger each moment.
He felt his heart jolt when you suddenly looked over at him, and smiled when your eyes met.
"I'm hungry."
He chuckled at the sudden profession, "Well we've got plenty of snacks. And if we make a fire we can heat the water for some noodles."
You hummed, "Snacks first, noodles later, I don't want to to use up all the wood." He nodded in agreement as he made his way to the kitchen to grab the snacks the two of you had brought.
As time passed slowly, the temperature in the cabin dropped, leaving you two no choice but to start a fire. You sat on some blankets close to the fireplace, as you set up the kettle. The warm glow and crackling wood, cast a comforting atmosphere around the cabin, and you momentarily forgot about the harsh storm outside.
"This is kind of fun." You admitted as you prepped some hot chocolate.
Seungcheol grinned as he prepped the noodles, "It is isn't it?"
You giggled softly and Seungcheol felt his chest clench. The longer the two of you were here together the harder it was for him to hold back. He knew he was tired of resisting his feelings, and avoiding a relationship, but he wasn't sure how to bring it up.
Earlier when you had run into him in the darkness, he didn't want to let you go, and now he wanted to hold you close and keep you warm. But would that be too much too soon?
Your heart rate began to rise as Seungcheol scooted closer to you, his knee pressing against yours. You distracted yourself by making two cups of hot chocolate, as you tried not to focus on his gaze as he watched you.
Handing him his cup, you noticed how he took the cup from you, his own hands caressing yours almost purposefully. The two of you sipped on your drinks in silence, before a sudden chill crawled over you.
Seungcheol didn't miss the shiver that ran through you, and immediately scooted closer, his shoulder now against yours. Taking the blanket he had draped over himself, he draped part of it across your back so you were both wrapped in it.
Your eyes shot over to him at his actions and he smiled almost teasingly, "I don't want you to get cold."
"I can just get another blanket." You mumbled out of nervousness as you gestured at the pile of blankets behind you.
Seungcheol glanced at them before he met your eyes again, "But I like this more."
He didn't miss the slight widening of your eyes as he said this and he smiled, his eyes glancing to your lips almost instinctively.
Looking back to the fire he cleared his throat. "I'm kind of glad this happened."
"You are?"
He nodded his head, "I miss spending time with you, just the two of us I mean."
Your heart was pounding heavily in your chest, as your gut clenched. "It has been a while hasn't it?"
Silent tension hung between you. You both knew the reason you hadn't spent time alone was due to your mutual feelings. The two of you were mutually and unconsciously avoiding each other for fear of giving in to your attraction.
"Do you miss it?"
You nodded in response and he smiled softly before nodding once and returning to the noodles he had been preparing before.
As you ate, little conversation passed between you. Both of you were lost in your own thoughts about each other as you both silently struggled with the same fears and reservations.
You timidly set your empty noodle pot aside as you felt Seungcheol look over at you. When he continued to stare, not looking away, you slowly looked over.
The look in his eyes made your breath catch. His gaze was soft, yet intense, and you could feel the emotion pooling behind his eyes.
Slowly, he reached over, and placed his hand on your cheek. "You're cold." He mumbled softly.
As he suddenly stood up, allowing the blanket that was draped across the two of you to drop, you stared at him in confusion. Picking up the blanket it, he draped it over you before he began grabbing the other blankets and lying them down on the couch.
Is he going to sleep out here?
"What are you doing?"
Seungcheol didn't respond as he grabbed some pillows and placed them on the couch as well.
You watched with a curious gaze as Seungcheol walked over to you before reaching down and scooping you into his arms.
"Wha-!"
You wrapped your arms around his neck as he lifted you, alarmed at his sudden actions.
He smirked as he plopped you down on the couch. You blinked in surprise as you stared up at him as he squeezed into the couch beside you before pulling you into his arms.
"We should sleep here. It will be warmer out here by the fire."
You attempted to get out some words, but apart from some bewildered sounds, nothing came out. Seungcheol grinned before he adjusted himself so he was lying face to face with you.
"We?" You finally muttered.
He nodded his head, grin remaining. Grabbing a blanket, he covered the two of you before he continued to stare at you.
"I'll put some more wood on the fire before we go to sleep but-...but for now I just want to stay like this."
As you stared at each other for a moment in silence, he slowly brought his hand to your face and caressed your cheek.
"I don't think I can do it anymore."
"Do what?"
"Avoid this. Avoid us. The reasons we had before... don't make sense to me now. I just want-"
As he paused with a soft sigh, your heat skipped a beat.
"Want what?"
"I just want you. I want to be with you."
Reaching up, you took his hand from your face and held it. You fiddled with his hand as you thought fr a moment. Seungcheol's chest tightened as he prepared himself for you to list of reasons why it wasn't a good idea.
"I want to be with you too."
His eyes bulged out for a moment as you spoke, making you giggle.
"You do?"
"Of course I do, you knew that well enough didn't you?"
"Well, I mean, yeah, but I- I meant I want to be with you now. Forget the reasons and excuses why we shouldn't, I don't care about those, I want to be with you."
You smiled as you nodded, "That's what I meant too."
He paused as he processed your words, and with a sudden boost of elation he leaned forward, pressing his lips against yours as he pulled you closer by the waist.
After a moment of surprise, you melted into the kiss as your hand gripped his shirt. He deepened the kiss with a sense of desperation, as he finally gave into his desires.
A sudden wave seemed to rush over the house as the lights turned on and the cabin came back to life.
You both pulled away with alarm before you locked eyes and chuckled. You hadn't noticed the snow outside was only soft snowfall now. As heat began blowing through the house Seungcheol shook his head.
"That didn't last long."
You grinned a him as you cleared your throat softly. "Can we still stay out here?"
He grinned as he kissed you again, before peppering a few kisses on your cheek and neck.
"Yes, absolutely."
xx End xx
I didn't know how to end this lol. Hope you liked it! This was my first time writing for S.Coups
