“Yu-Jun, stop!” A voice shouts over the bustling noise of the street Hongjoong finds himself on. Looking in the direction the voice came from, he spots a young boy, no older than five, sprinting towards the crosswalk without any intention of slowing down, while a woman races after him. There’s a mix of bystanders ignoring and watching the scene play out in front of them. None of them bother to help stop the runaway boy.
Hongjoong looks at the road, seeing an oncoming car and gets a quick flash of a vision where the approaching car collides with the boy. It's not until he looks back at the woman and sees her outstretched arms and pleading eyes urging him to do something. It causes something in his chest to flutter. Instinct kicks in, and he lunges forward, reaching out just in time to grab the child by the scruff of his neck. With a swift move, he pulls the boy back. The car zooms past, the driver oblivious to the near tragedy that could have just happened.
The boy wriggles in his grip, but Hongjoong holds onto him firmly, crouching down to meet his gaze. His eyes darken, becoming pitch black. “Do that again, I’ll drag you straight to hell myself, got it?” he warns the kid. The kid’s eyes widen with fear as he nods his head. “Good,” he finishes, patting the kid on the head and stands up to his full height just as the woman approaches. “You should really listen to your e-” he cuts himself off now getting a good look at the woman. She’s familiar. A little too familiar. “Y/N,” her name falls from his lips in a soft whisper as he watches her scold the boy.
At the sound of her name, she turns her attention Hongjoong, grasping Yu-Jun's hand tightly, making sure her doesn’t make another escape attempt. “I’m sorry, do I know you?” she asks, trying to recall if she’s seen him before.
He shakes his head, the fluttering in his chest replaced with something he hasn’t felt in over a century - heartache. “No,” he replies, his tone firm as he shifts from shock to a glare, looking at her and Yu-Jun with disdain. “Get your kid a leash or something,” he mutters before turning away and walking off.
“What was all that about?” San asks his superior when he joins him and Seonghwa again. The two demons had just witnessed what had happened. San, who hasn’t been around as long as Hongjoong and Seonghwa is clueless about how significant what just happened was for his captain. Always the curious one, Hongjoong couldn’t blame him for having questions.
“My past,” is all Hongjoong said as the head inside the club they often frequent.
“I thought they stopped giving her more lives,” Seonghwa says, thinking back to when he last encountered one of Y/N’s lives.
“That’s what they told me,” he says ordering a drink as they sit at the bar, “70 years ago.”
Tumblr media
Later that night, Y/N is plagued by nightmares she can’t wake up from.
The darkness envelops her like a suffocating cloud and amplifies her racing heartbeat. The seeming human forms of the people around her twist and transform into hideous monsters, their forms shifting in ways that are unnatural and their eyes glow a blood-thirsty red. As she stands frozen in place, the ground beneath her begins to shake as the creatures encircle her, their deep growls mixed with the piercing screams of her son and deceased parents, echoes in her ears.
"Please, no," she whimpers, filled with fear as she desperately attempts to flee. Every step she takes is feels like a battle against an unseen force that pulls her back. The beasts close in, their claws scraping against the ground, leaving deep gouges in the dirt.
“STOP!” a deep, authoritative voice commands from behind her. Y/N turns around, her heart racing, scared of what could be there. As she searches for the source of the voice, the creatures part reverting back to their human form and reveal a figure draped in a black cloak. The figure imposing, with an aura of authority. “Leave,” the figure orders again. The creatures hesitate, their eyes darting between their master and Y/N, uncertainty flickering in their expressions. “NOW!” He yells causing the monsters and Y/N to flinch when they made no move.
He lowers his cloak and Y/N’s breath hitches in her throat seeing the man who saved her son standing there, a dark and menacing look on his face. A few of the creatures let out a disgruntled growl as they slinked back into the shadows, leaving the man with her.
“Do you trust me?” he asks, his voice softer now as he holds his hand out towards her.
Y/N hesitates, her instincts screaming at her to run, but something holds her back. It’s a sense of familiarity that she can’t quite grasp. She's sure she hasn't seen this man until today. "Who are you?" she questions, placing her hand in his.
“Let me show you,” he says and waves a hand in front of him.
Suddenly, images begin to swirl around them. A young faceless girl and boy are seen running through the fields, playfully chasing each other.
As the scenes shift, they appear older; the girl is twirling to the melody played by a man with a guitar, while the boy sits nearby, completely captivated by her. The way he looks at her tells Y/N that this boy may have loved her more than he let on.
The next scene reveals the boy’s heartbreak as he watches the girl interact with a wealthier suitor, confirming Y/N’s suspicions.
The atmosphere shifts dramatically as the scene shifts once again. The boy, now a man, encounters the girl, now a woman, with her face marked with bruises and a deep sadness in her eyes. Y/N’s heart races as she watches the man’s reaction. An anger overcomes him as he reaches out to her, his expression a mix of concern and determination.
“What happened to her?” Y/N finds herself asking, her voice barely a whispers as it trembles with emotion.
The scene changes one final time, leaving Y/N horrified. Before her lies the woman on the ground, her body covered in bruises, with blood staining her chest and stomach. This time, she can clearly see the woman’s face. It’s her.
She stumbles back, her eyes widening in horror as her heart pounds in her chest. The man manages to steady her as the same man kneels beside her, his hands shaking as he cradles her head, tears streaming down his face, a raw expression of grief and helplessness.
“You were never supposed to marry your husband,” the man speaks, his lips close to her ear as they watch the scene in front of them unfolding. “We were supposed to run away together but we never got the chance to.”
Tears start to stream down Y/N's cheeks, feeling the overwhelming sadness and heartache coming from him in the scene that’s still playing.
“I found out that you had chosen him to save me,” he continues, his voice bubbling with rage. “But then I saw you in the market that day and something switched. We could no longer deny what was between us and we started making our plans to run away again, especially after you found out you were pregnant.”
Hearing the last part, her hands instinctively went to her stomach. She feels the phantom ache of a child she never had.
"He found out and had you murdered," he tells her. “And then I made a deal with the devil to make sure he will suffer an eternity in hell.” He turns her around to face him. “And now I’m making damn well sure the devil is keeping to his side of the deal.” Lifting a hand to her face, he cups her cheek and presses his lips softly to hers before pulling away before she could respond. “I really hope you remember this,” he says before waving his hand in front of her face and sending her into a dreamless sleep.
Hongjoong stands up straight as he watches her relax in her sleep, free from her nightmares. He brushes away a tear that has slipped down her cheek and takes a step back as she begins to stir. Before she can awaken, he slips out of her bedroom and enters the little boy's room. As Hongjoong looks down at the boy, there is no denying that the boy is his son.

“Let me get this right,” Xu Minghao, Y/N’s spiritual guide, says after listening to Y/N’s explanation of what she’s been dealing with for the last few days. “This man, Yoon Jeonghan, isn’t dead but in a coma and you can still see him?”
“That’s pretty much it,” she nods.
“And the strange man? You’ve encountered him?” Minghao continues to question her as he places a cup of herbal tea in front of her before sitting across the table from her.
She nods again. "At the bus stop."
“And Gods were mentioned?” he asks.
She nods one more time. “But he doesn’t look like any God that I know of. Maybe he’s a messenger for one of them?”
“Gods don’t always look how they’re portrayed in pictures and writing,” he tells her. “Have you got the full story from this Yoon Jeonghan?”
Her mind goes back to the early hours of this morning. She knows Jeonghan only gave her the short version of what had happened. The feeling of there being more to it still lingers inside her. She hoped that after she finished visiting with the kids, she could speak to him, but her mother had called her asking if she was able to get a late lunch with her, to which she politely declined.
Y/N takes a deep breath, her fingers nervously tracing the rim of her teacup. "I don't," she admits. "He only told me about the strange man, passing out and waking up in the hospital outside of his body."
"I suggest you get him to tell you everything that happened that night, then maybe we can narrow down which God is messing with him," Minghao advises her.
Y/N takes another sip of her tea, the warmth spreading through her fingers and easing some of the tension in her chest. “I’ll try,” she says, a determined glint in her eye. “But I have a feeling it might not be as easy as it seems.”
Minghao leans back in his chair, tapping his fingers thoughtfully against the table. “It's hard to say things out loud, it makes our situations seem more real. And right now, he's more than likely terrified. He has no clue what's happening or why it's happening. He's never experienced anything like this. Just like you."
She lifts her head, looking at Minghao after he says the last part.
"You've never been able to communicate with those in limbo until now," he reminds her. "He's the first and only one you've been able to see and talk to. This is scary for you too."
Y/N takes a moment to absorb Minghao's words, her mind racing. She lets out a small sigh, feeling the weight of the situation settle on her shoulders. “You’re right,” she concedes, her voice barely above a whisper. “Everything feels different this time.”
Minghao nods, his expression softening with understanding. “You have a unique gift,” he reassures her gently. “One that can be a blessing and a burden. It's up to you how you see it.”
As they sit together in comfortable silence for a moment longer, Y/N takes another sip of tea and gazes out the window pondering her next steps.
“I guess it’s time for me to embrace this gift,” she murmurs quietly, more to herself than anyone else.
Tumblr media
Standing under the shelter of the bus stop, Y/N gazes up at the cherry blossom trees across the street with curiosity. They weren't due to bloom for another 3-5 months. Summer was over and autumn had just started. As she stands there, a gentle breeze rustles the leaves, sending a flurry of pink petals dancing through the air and across the street. Y/N reaches out instinctively, letting a few of the delicate petal's land in her palm. It feels like a sign—a reminder that beauty can exist even in confusion and uncertainty.
“Maybe it’s all connected,” she muses aloud to herself, her mind going back to the strange man who pointed out that the cherry blossoms were blooming early and Jeonghan. “The blooming trees, the strange man, Jeonghan’s situation…”
As if on cue, the wind picks up again, swirling around her and causing more petals to flutter down like soft rain. It feels almost magical. She takes another deep breath, letting the sweet scent of cherry blossoms fill her lungs. It's always been one of her favourite scents.
'He also said the only person who can see me will know his name.' she repeats Jeonghan's words from the night before in her mind. But she doesn't know his name. "Could I be the wrong person? Maybe there is someone else out there?" she questions herself. “Either way, I have to figure out what's going on.”
Just then, a soft voice interrupts her thoughts. “You know,” it says playfully, “if you keep talking to yourself like that, people might start thinking you’re losing it.”
Startled, Y/N turns to see a familiar face leaning casually against the bus stop sign—it's none other than Jihoon. His mischievous grin makes her feel instantly lighter. “Ya! Jihoon-ah! What are you doing here?” she scolds him, unable to hide her relief.
“I just finished grabbing something to eat at the cafe up the road,” he replies with a shrug. “I saw you so I thought I would see if you needed a ride home but then I got distracted by your deep philosophical pondering.” He gestures toward the swirling petals. “Cherry blossoms in autumn? Now that’s something worth contemplating.”
Y/N chuckles, grateful for his light-heartedness. “That’s for sure,” she agrees, and then hesitates for a moment before deciding to share some of what’s been happening. “I'm dealing with something I didn't think was possible," she begins. "The man I mentioned last night, Yoon Jeonghan. He's in limbo but I can see him and communicate with him. That's never happened before."
"He's not dead?" Jihoon asks surprised by her revelation.
She shakes her head. "He's in a coma but he's very much alive."
Jihoon raises an eyebrow, his expression a mix of curiosity and concern. “So, he’s stuck somewhere between life and death?” He leans closer, clearly intrigued. "Could he be the ghost you fall in love with? There's-"
"Jihoon-ah, stop it," she cuts him off with an annoyed groan and a light smack against his shoulder.
He chuckles, clearly unfazed by her reaction. “I’m just saying, girl meets ghost and falls in love and brings him back to life. You know, the typical forbidden lover's trope.”
“Not helping,” Y/N replies with a playful roll of her eyes, but she can’t suppress the smile tugging at her lips. Jihoon always had a way of lightening the mood, even in the most serious situations. It's one of the things she loves the most about him.
"What's he like?" he asks, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"I'm pretty sure he's a menace to society," she tells him. "But maybe not in a bad way. He has an angelic face so maybe there's a good guy under it all."
"Sounds like your type," Jihoon chuckles.
"Don't you have a song to be working on?" she asks, trying to sound annoyed by his teasing.
Their light-hearted banter fades slightly as Jihoon looks at his watch. "I should head back to the studio. Do you want a ride home?"
"I'm good with catching the bus," she assures him.
"Okay. Don't wait up for me tonight. I won't be home until late," he lets her know, before lifting his hand to his cheek making a heart. "Wooahae. Be safe."
Instead of doing the wooahae back to him, she opts for Soonyoung's horanghae pose, earning a playful offend look from him. She changes it to a wooahae as he begins to walk backwards. Pleased, he turns around, walking the right way back to his studio, leaving Y/N alone. Once again, her thoughts are consumed by the cherry blossoms and Jeonghan.
But before she gets too deep in her mind, her phone buzzes in her pocket, jolting her from her thoughts. She pulls it out and sees a message from her mum asking her if she's free for lunch tomorrow. "Aish," she groans, already knowing her mother's intentions. Deciding to reply to her later, she puts her phone back in her pocket just as the bus arrives to take her back home.
As she boards the bus, Y/N settles into a window seat, her thoughts swirling like the petals outside. The gentle hum of the engine and the soft chatter of passengers create a comforting backdrop.
Tumblr media
Entering the apartment, Y/N's stomach rumbles when the aroma of Mingyu's cooking wafts through the air, hitting her nose. She walks into the kitchen and dining area and is immediately met with the sight of Mingyu bustling around the kitchen, his back turned to her as he stirs something in a pot. The sound of sizzling fills the air, and she can’t help but smile at how the chef always manages to turn their small kitchen into a culinary wonderland.
“Hey, chef!” she calls out, leaning against the kitchen counter, to get a look at what recipe he was trying out now. “What’s cooking? It smells amazing!”
"I'm trying out this new recipe. I'm hoping if it works out, I can add it to the restaurant's menu," he says, turning around to face her with a spoonful of broth in his hand, "Try this," he tells her holding the spoon out towards her.
She takes the spoon from him and with caution, she brings it to her lips. A burst of flavour hits her tongue. The heat from the spices and the tangy kick of kimchi makes her feel all warm and cozy inside. “That's amazing!” she exclaims, placing the spoon into the sink with the other dirty dishes. “You add that to the menu, and I'll be there every night.”
"Yeah?" he asks making sure, she wasn't just messing with him. "You like it that much?"
"100%" she assures him, truly loving everything culinary creation Mingyu cooks. Mingyu beams at her approval before he returns to stirring. As she moves to sit on one of the kitchen bar stools, she watches him work, admiring how effortlessly he moves in the kitchen. Her friend was clearly born for the culinary arts.
"It smells so good in here," Soonyoung says announcing his arrival home as he walks into the kitchen. He places a kiss to the side of Y/N's head as he passes on the way to the fridge to get himself a bottle of water.
"Have you two had dinner yet?" Mingyu asked them, removing the pot from the stove.
Y/N shakes her head, a playful smile spreading across her face. "I feel like I haven't eaten all day.”
Soonyoung raises an eyebrow, looking at her concerned. “Are you skipping meals again? What's going on?"
Mingyu chuckles as he starts plating the food. “Just some typical Y/N drama,” he says with a wink, knowing that whatever it is, she’ll share it when she’s ready.
"The usual ghost stuff," she tries to reassure him. "Nothing I can't handle."
"You'll let us know if you need help, right?" Soonyoung asks. She replies with a nod.
Soonyoung and Mingyu, being her longest friends along with Jihoon, know all about her 'gift'. They found out not long after they became friends when she was struggling with a persistent ghost that was borderline stalking and harassing her because his message to his family hadn't gone how he expected it to go. He blamed it on her. But she eventually got through to the man's son, helping him to move on. She was pretty sure Soonyoung and Jihoon were about to have her committed to a psych ward in the earlier months of their friendship.
Y/N watches as Mingyu plates the food, her stomach rumbling in anticipation. The aroma fills the kitchen, blending with the comforting chatter of her friends. She feels a little lighter just being around them. "Is Jihoon home?" Soonyoung asks, looking around for their missing friend.
"He told me he’s having a late night at the studio," Y/N answers as Mingyu hands her a bowl of his latest recipe.
Tumblr media
The next day being another day off for Y/N, she makes her way to the hospital with a new sense of purpose and arriving just as visiting hours are starting. She makes her way up to the floor Jeonghan’s on, this time wearing a pair of sunglasses to avoid making eye contact with the other ghosts. The elevator reaches the floor, the doors opening with a ding. Y/N steps out of the elevator, her heart racing with a mix of excitement and nerves. The sterile smell of antiseptic fills the air as she walks down the corridor, her footsteps echoing softly against the linoleum floors. She can feel the familiar weight of uncertainty pressing on her chest, but she pushes it aside, reminding herself that today is about finding out everything that happened to Jeonghan that night.
"Sorry, I didn't come and see-" she started but quickly stopped when she found a young woman around her age sitting next to Jeonghan's bed, his ghostlike figure standing behind her looking beyond angry.
"Get her out of here," he tells Y/N, a malice filling his voice.
Taking off her sunglasses, she bows to the woman as she looks from Jeonghan's ghost to the woman. The woman stands up greeting her.
"Are you his new girlfriend?" the woman asks, surprising Y/N with her straight forwardness.
Y/N hesitates, eyes darting between the woman and Jeonghan who's shaking his head, glaring daggers at the woman. "No," she replies after a moment. "I'm just a... a friend. Choi Y/N."
The woman holds her hand out towards Y/N, introducing herself. "I'm Kim Mi-cha. Jeonghan's fiancee."

Yoongi starts the video with his introduction before sitting down and picking up the tablet propped up on the table for him to read from.  “Today’s guest wrote she's a best friend of over 10 years, professional ghostbuster and full time cat lover, part time idol,” Yoongi reads from the tablet in front of him, trying to keep his smile small, as he goes over everything she put on the small form that his team has his guest fill out for fun. "She does love cats," he chuckles to himself. "Professional ghostbuster," he muses, tapping his finger against the screen of the tablet. "I don't think she's ever seen a ghost," he mutters more to himself. "Alright, let's bring her out!" he says standing up to greet his friend turned secret girlfriend. "Viola!" he calls out, a hint of playful anticipation in his voice. He extends his hand, and a moment later, a figure walks into frame.
"Yoongi-ah!" Viola grins, her eyes smiling as she greets him, a paper bag in her hand. She's in a nice blouse and a pair of light denim blue jeans; her hair has been cut shorter into a bob that reaches her shoulders. It's a change from her long hair and something she hadn't told him about wanting to surprise him. "Thanks for having me," she adds with a light laugh.
"You cut your hair," Yoongi says, a surprised but pleased look on his face as he sits back down. "It looks great! Come on, have a seat. What's in the bag?" he asks, gesturing towards the chair opposite him and then eyeing the paper bag with curiosity on what alcoholic beverage she might have brought.
“Just my favorite,” she smiles pulling out a bottle of Bacardi white rum and hands it to him. “I also brought a couple bottles of coke.”
“I should have guessed,” he smiles, taking the bottle and opening it, pouring some into two glasses as she opens one of the bottles of Coca-Cola that has the label taken off. He sets the bottle of rum aside as she pours the coke, mentioning the menu of food that they have that she can pick from.
Once the drinks are poured and the food is ordered and spread out in front of them, they clink their glasses together and take a drink as they get settled into the interview. Y/N can feel her mouth watering at the sight of the spicy fried chicken, tteokbokki and a few other of her favorite Korean dishes.
"So, ghostbuster, any recent paranormal activity I should be aware of?" he teases, a playful glint in his eyes as he takes a bite of his food.
"I haven't had any since I moved out of the dorm room the girls and I were in," she replies, after taking a bite of chicken, she chuckles, wiping her hands on a napkin and taking a sip of her drink. Her ghost story from their trainee days is well known amongst her fans. She's talked about it multiple times. From how her things would disappear and reappear somewhere else. The seven other girls she shared the small dorm room with were adamant that they hadn't touched her stuff. It happened to two of the other girls too. Then there was the cold spots and the chills, the faint whispers and slightly touches when no one else was in the room. The scary stories and rumors about their dorm didn't help either. Viola was 100% certain that their room was haunted, and she can attest to the many nights she snuck into one of the training rooms or the boy's dorms to get some undisturbed sleep. She shudders slightly as a chill goes down her back thinking about it, "That dorm room was cursed for sure."
Yoongi nods in agreement. "I remember when you used to come to our dorm trembling and asking if you could stay with us."
"Jin oppa would get so annoyed," she says, guilt washing over her as she remembers all the times she did it before she was caught out by one of their trainers.
"He didn't mind," he assures her. "Taehyungie loved it though. He liked having you there."
"Yeah, Tae always made room for me," Viola laughs.
Yoongi smiles, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes. "Any new ghost stories from your current place?" he asks, even though he knows there isn't. What their fans and the public don't know is that they've been living together for almost a year now, their relationship starting back in 2021. Neither of them or their company is ready to make it public yet, especially with Yoongi's military enlistment approaching and the clashing of their separate schedules.
"Nope! Thankfully," she says with a relieved sigh. "If there was, I'm sure my roommate will chase it away. He's not easily scared by ghost stories."
He chuckles, flattered by the hidden compliment. "Your roommate," Yoongi says, a playful smirk on his face as he glances at the camera. She also looks between him and the camera when she realizes she called her 'roommate' he, knowing full well that some of the audience might piece things together, especially their fans who have been shipping them since they started getting to see them interact.
Yoongi takes this moment to change the subject, shifting it to her solo debut. "So, 'Welcome Home' is doing really well! Congratulations, Viola-ssi!" he says, a proud smile on his lips. "Everyone is loving it. How does it feel to be performing again?"
"I've missed it so much," she says taking another bite of food and a drink from her glass. "I didn't realize how much I did miss it until I started preparing for the comeback. I haven't danced or sang this much since I broke my ankle and the Le Fleurs disbandment. It feels really good to be doing it all again and seeing how many fans I still have. That was pleasantly surprising," she pauses, thinking for a moment as he listens intently to everything she is saying. They've had this conversation behind closed doors when she was considering coming back to the spotlight. "It's definitely a different experience being a soloist though. It's a lot more work but it's also a lot more rewarding. I have more creative control, and I get to really express myself in my music." She pauses, again thinking back to her Le Fleur days. "I still miss my girls though. It's definitely not the same without them."
"Yeah, I can imagine," Yoongi says sympathetically. He knows how much Le Fleur meant to her. He was there when they debuted, when they won their first award, and she broke her ankle which is when they ultimately disbanded. He was her shoulder to cry on through it all. "But you're killing it as a soloist! I've had 'Welcome Home' on repeat for weeks now," he says showing his pride for her in his eyes and resisting the urge to reach across the table and take her hand in his.
Viola blushes, pleased by his praise and bows her head. "Thank you, Yoongi-ah. That means a lot, especially coming from you."
"Speaking of your music," Yoongi says, leaning forward with genuine interest, "I've been wondering, is there a particular song on the album that's the most personal to you? Or maybe one that was the hardest to write?"
"I didn't really struggle with writing any of the songs on this album, but I think that's mostly because I never stopped writing them. I have a laptop, and notebooks filled with songs I would love to release eventually," she says recalling her process that went into making her solo debut album. "The hardest part was deciding which songs would go on the album. Of course, Welcome Home made it to my debut song which is very fitting considering it's about returning to a place that feels like home. If I had to choose a song that's the most personal to me," she pauses biting her bottom lip as she thinks about her songs and tries to decide which one it would be. "I think it would have to be my ballad 'Silent Years'. People think it's about my years I spent not being an idol, it's actually about lifelong friends finding a certain special kind of love for each other. I actually wrote the song with someone, so it's not a song I wrote on my own. I can't take full credit for it."
"Oh, really? You wrote it with someone?" Yoongi asks, not wanting to give it away that it was him who wrote it with her and produced it for her. Even though if anyone looked into the credits for the song, his name is there.
"Yeah," Viola says, a soft smile playing on her lips. "It was a collaboration. We worked on it together for a while before we finalized it. It was a really special experience." She looks at him, a silent message passing between them, a shared memory of late nights spent hunched over lyrics and melodies, their voices blending together in perfect harmony. "It was unfortunate I couldn't get their vocals on the song."
Yoongi nods, his eyes twinkling with affection. "Well, whoever you wrote it with, they did a great job. It's a beautiful song," he says sincerely, taking a sip of his drink. She bows her head slightly, thanking him again. "Should we take a listen to it?" he asks, and she nods, pulling out her phone.
Viola unlocks her phone and goes through it until she finds the song. She lays her phone on the table and presses play. The soft melody of "Silent Years" fills the room, the sounds of a piano accompanying Viola's delicate vocals. Yoongi watches her as she listens, her eyes closed. He can almost see the memories playing out in her mind – the laughter, the tears and the quiet moments together that had woven their friendship into something more. The song speaks volumes about their relationship, a secret confession hidden in plain sight. He feels a surge of pride, knowing he helped bring her song to life.
When the last note fades, a comfortable silence settles between them. Viola opens her eyes, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. "It still gets me every time," she admits softly, glancing at Yoongi.
"You really poured your heart into it," he replies, his voice equally soft. "Let's talk about something a little lighter. You're dancing again. How's that been going?" He asks, hoping to steer the conversation away from the more personal aspects of her music, at least for the sake of the cameras.
Viola visibly relaxes at the change of subject. "The choreography has been intense, but so much fun!" she exclaims, her eyes lighting up again. Dance will always be one of her greatest passions. For the longest time she didn't think it was possible to dance again on the level she was at before her broken ankle. A lot of it had been fearing that she will injure it again, leading her to never being able to dance again.
"I saw some of your fancams and dance challenges," Yoongi says with a grin. "You've improved so much."
"Thank you," she smiles before asking, "Do you want to do the dance challenge with me? Hobi, Jimin and Tae have done it."
He looks hesitant for a moment, it well known he isn't the biggest fan of dancing despite it being one part of what makes him an idol. He also isn't a big fan of participating dance challenges. "I'm not sure I can keep up with you," he says with a chuckle, knowing full well that she's ten times the dancer he is, her being on almost the same level as Hobi. But also, how can he say no to her, especially when she's looking at him, her lips slightly pouted and eyes sparkling with hope. Yoongi sighs dramatically, but a smile plays on his lips. "Okay, okay," he relents, throwing his hands up in mock surrender. "But if I embarrass myself, I'm blaming you."
Viola claps her hands together excitedly. "Yes! Okay, let's clear some space," she says, moving to the open space in front of the cameras.
"Alright, show me what you got, dance teacher," he teases, standing up and stretching his arms.
Viola grins, pulling out her phone again and finding the part of the song that's being used for the dance challenge. She starts demonstrating the first few moves, her body flowing effortlessly to the music. Yoongi watches her intently, trying to mimic her movements.
It takes a few tries, and there's a lot of laughter and playful banter, but eventually, Yoongi starts to get the hang of it. He's still a bit stiff and awkward, but he's definitely trying his best. Viola cheers him on, offering encouragement and corrections with a smile, the opposite to what he's use to with Hobi.
"You did it!" she exclaims, after they manage to get through a small portion of the dance without messing up.
They continue to practice for a few more minutes, giving the everyone a glimpse into how well the two work together. Even the camera crew can't help but smile at how well they work together. Finally, they decide to film a short clip of them doing the challenge together.
"Okay, everyone ready?" Viola asks, looking towards the person filming the challenge for them. "Three, two, one, go!"
They launch into the dance. Yoongi stumbles a few times, but he keeps going, determined to finish strong. Viola laughs, but she doesn't miss a beat, guiding him through the steps.
When the clip ends, they both collapse into their chairs, breathless and laughing. "We did it!" Viola exclaims, high-fiving Yoongi.
"I think I pulled a muscle," Yoongi groans, and leans back in his chair, a satisfied smile on his face. "Everyone is going to love it," he says confidently. "Especially seeing me embarrass myself."
Viola playfully hits his arm. "You weren't that bad," she says, but she's grinning. "Besides, it's all about having fun, right?"
"Right," Yoongi agrees, his gaze lingering on her. "And I definitely had fun." He looks at the camera. "Okay, ARMY and Violette's, please be kind. I tried my best!"
"If you ever have a dance challenge, I'll return the favor," she smiles. "I promise."
"I'm going to hold you to it," he tells her, fully intending to make sure she keeps that promise.
As the interview winds down, they finish their last drinks. "Before we go, is there anything else you'd like to say to your fans?" Yoongi asks her, giving her the opportunity to express her gratitude.
Viola takes a deep breath and looks directly at the camera, her eyes filled with gratitude. "To anyone who's ever doubted themselves or their dreams, never give up. Believe in yourself and never stop chasing your passions and dreams. And to all my Violette's, thank you for your unwavering support. Your love and encouragement mean the world to me. I promise to keep working hard and creating music that you'll love."
Yoongi nods, impressed by her heartfelt message and closes out the episode with a few more words.
The video then cuts to them, removing their microphones as their playful banter continues, unbeknownst to Viola, one of the camera's is still recording the scene like Yoongi had planned. They're soon interrupted by a visitor, calling out the nickname they use for Viola, "La-La."
Her eyes widen as she spins around to find Taehyung standing there with a small cake, "What's this?"
"Congratulations on your solo debut," the younger man, beams.
Yoongi watches them, a fond smile on his face. He knows how close Viola and Taehyung are. They've always had a special connection, a playful and supportive friendship that he admires. From the moment they met, Viola took him (and the others) under her wing. Having three younger brothers, she has a natural instinct to nurture, care for and protect them. They quickly became her honorary brothers.
She takes the cake from him and gives him a quick hug thanking him.
As they continue to chat and enjoy the cake, the camera continues to roll, capturing the genuine warmth and affection between them. It's a moment of pure happiness, a glimpse into the real friendship they have, away from the spotlight and the pressures of fame.

Y/N wakes up to sunlight pouring in through a gap in the curtains. She lets out a soft groan as she stretches her arms and legs, shaking off the remnants of sleep. Turning her head, she can't help but smile at her boyfriend sleeping beside her—he looks so peaceful.
Not wanting to disturb him, she goes to carefully and quietly remove herself from the bed, but yelps in surprise as she's tugged back on to the mattress, her body colliding with her boyfriends.
She looks down to see his arms wrapped around her waist, a sleepy grin spreading across his face. “Did you really think you could sneak away that easily?” Woosung teases, his voice still heavy with sleep as he wraps his arms around her, drawing her close.
“I was going to make us breakfast,” she tells him, attempting to make an escape only for him to tighten his hold on her.
“Breakfast can wait,” he insists, entrapping her with his arm and leg, keeping her snug against him. "I think we should stay in bed today."
“But what if we get hungry?” she chuckles, placing her hand over his and linking their fingers together before bringing his hand to her lips and placing a soft kiss to their entwined fingers.
"We can order in," he suggests.
"And all the errands I have to run today?" she questions him.
"They can wait until tomorrow," he answers, nuzzling his nose into the space between her shoulder and neck.
Y/N laughs softly, turning over to face him. “You really think you can charm me into ignoring all my responsibilities for the day?”
“Absolutely. Just look at this face,” he says, tilting his head and giving her his most irresistible puppy-dog eyes. “How could anyone resist?”
"You're right. I've never been able to resist your handsome face," she admits, "But I have a lunch date with my mum today."
Woosung pouts, feigning disappointment. “Your mum? But I was hoping to keep you all to myself today!”
Y/N chuckles at his antics, brushing a stray hair from his forehead. “I know, but it’s been ages since I've done something with her. Plus, she’s been asking about you and said you're more than welcome to join us.”
He raises an eyebrow, intrigued. “Really?"
"Mm-hmm," she nods. "She says it's been too long since you last saw her. I swear she loves you more than me."
Woosung's eyes light up at the mention of her mother wanting to see him. The two have a close bond, her mother already loving him like the son she never had but always wanted. “Well, in that case, since it's your mum, I suppose I can be persuaded to put on some clothes and be sociable for a few hours,” he says with a playful smirk. “But only if you promise me that we will spend the day in bed tomorrow, no interruptions.”
Y/N rolls her eyes but can’t help the smile creeping onto her face. “Deal!"
"I’m gonna hold you to that,” Woosung grins as he finally releases her from his embrace.
They both get out of bed, quickly showering together before getting dressed and ready to go meet Y/N's mum for lunch.

Y/N arrives home to find a large white envelope taped to her front door. A sinking feeling enters her stomach as she recognizes the stamp in the corner that belongs to her ex-husband's lawyer.
She takes a deep breath, her fingers trembling slightly as she reaches for the envelope. a reminder of a past she had put behind her. Unlocking the door, she carries the envelope, a bag of groceries and the baby carrier inside. She leaves the bag of food and envelope on the kitchen counter, unable to bring herself to open it just yet and tends to Hye-young, her and Wooyoung's three-month-old daughter. Once she's settled in her crib in the corner of the living room, she makes her way back into the kitchen to put away the food she brought.
Stealing glances at the envelope, her stomach and heart feel heavy. She can only think of one reason why her ex-husband is reaching out to her after all this time. It’s been 5 years since she’s heard anything from him. Five years since he left her for his mistress and five years since he abandoned Hannie, completely cutting his own daughter out of his life for a woman and child that probably wasn’t even his. Y/N is no longer angry at him or hurt that he divorced her. She was able to find love again after all. It was Hannie that her heart breaks for. She understands the pain it brings not having your own biological father love you enough to stick around. Y/N knows that pain all too well.
But just like when she was a child, there's a man who stood into the father role as if they were born for it. Someone who loves her more than himself and she calls him dad. Wooyoung didn’t have to, he keeps reminding her that he knows he didn’t have to. He wanted to.
Instead of opening it, she pours herself a glass of water and sits at the kitchen table, glancing at the clock. Wooyoung is due home with Hannie any moment now. It's his day to pick the now six year old up from school. Not even a second later, the familiar sound of the keypad lock unlocking is heard.
“Eomma! I’m home!” Hannie calls out, bursting through the front door with Wooyoung right behind her.
Y/N’s heart swells as she watches Wooyoung crouch down to help Hannie remove her shoes. Once her shoes are off, she makes a beeline for her mum, climbing into her lap and giving her tight hug, not knowing that it's what Y/N needs the most right now.
“Did you have a good day?” she asks, moving a strand of hair out of her daughter's face when she pulls back from the hug.
Hannie nods. "Miss Lee made sticker packs for everyone and said we can use them on our new project," she excitedly tells her mum.
Y/N smiles at Hannie's enthusiasm, feeling the warmth of her daughter's joy wash over her like a comforting blanket. “That sounds amazing! What’s the project about?” she asks, hoping to keep the conversation light and cheerful.
“It’s about animals!” Hannie exclaims. “I wanted to do mine on penguins, but Yuri got the penguin sticker pack, so I chose squ-squ-," she continues trying to pronounce squirrel but ultimately gives up and says, "Uncle Joong because he's one of those.”
"I'm sure Uncle Joong will feel honoured you chose the squirrel," Y/N chuckles lightly. "Go put your bag away and I'll make you something to eat," she kindly orders her daughter, helping her off her lap. She watches as Hannie picks up her bag and takes it into her bedroom.
"Are you okay?" Wooyoung asks his wife as soon as Hannie is out of the room. He knew something was wrong the moment he walked inside. The look in her eyes when she put on a smile for Hannie only confirmed that something wasn't right.
She stands up and makes her way to the kitchen counter, picking up the envelope and handing it to him. "I haven't brought myself to open it yet."
Wooyoung takes it from her, looking at the fancy law firm stamp in the corner. Wooyoung’s brow furrows as he examines the envelope, his fingers brushing over the smooth surface. “This is from your ex-husband’s lawyer?” he asks, his voice low and careful, as if afraid that Hannie will overhear them. Y/N nods, a lump forming in her throat. "Do you want me to open it?"
She nods again.
Wooyoung tears open the envelope and pulls out the letter inside. His eyes quickly scan the words on the page, his own heart sinking. "He's applying for custody," he tells her.
Y/N feels the world around her tilt on its axis as Wooyoung's words sink in. "Custody?" she echoes, her voice barely above a whisper. Even though this is what she was expecting, it being the only reason why her ex-husband and Hannie's biological father would reach out now, it's still surprising.
Wooyoung looks up from the letter, his expression one of fierce protectiveness. “He hasn’t been in her life since she was a baby, Y/N. What does he think he can just waltz back in and—”
“Wooyoung,” she interrupts gently, placing a hand on his arm to calm him. “I know. I feel the same way.” Her mind races with memories of how hard she fought to create a loving home for Hannie after everything fell apart. “But, biologically-.”
“I don’t care about biology,” Wooyoung says, frustration creeping into his voice. “She's my kid... our kid.”
“I know,” Y/N replies softly, feeling tears prick at the corners of her eyes. "He's a complete stranger to her but the courts won't see it that way."
Wooyoung runs a hand through his hair, frustration evident in every line of his face. “We need to fight this,” he says, determination igniting in his eyes. “I’m not going to let him take her away from us.”
“I know,” Wooyoung replies gently as he tries to calm himself down, stepping closer and wrapping an arm around Y/N's waist. He pulls her against him, grounding them both amidst the storm brewing inside their hearts. “But we can’t let him just walk back in and claim what he hasn’t wanted for years.”
Y/N leans into Wooyoung’s warmth, drawing strength from his unwavering support. “You’re right,” she murmurs softly, looking up at him with gratitude shining in her eyes. “But… it’s just hard to think about what this could mean for Hannie if things go south. She's going to be so lost and confused.”
"Maybe it's time we tell her everything, that way if it does go to court, she might be a little less confused," he suggests.
“You’re right,” she concedes, pulling back enough to look at him. “But how do we even begin to explain all of this to her?”
Wooyoung holds her gaze, his eyes filled with warmth and determination. “We’ll figure it out together," he assures her, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Eomma, Appa, look what I made today," Hannie's sweet voice calls to them as she walks back into the kitchen. "Look it's you Appa and Eomma and me and Hye-youngie and our cat," she exclaims, holding up a drawing of her little family with a little cat next to them.
Wooyoung tries to blink back the tears hearing her call him Appa. “Wow!” he exclaims, leaning forward to get a better look. “Is that us?”
“Yes!” she beams, her face lighting up with pride. “And that’s our kitten,” she adds, pointing to the little cat again.  It’s her latest attempt at trying to convince her parents to add a kitten to their family.
Y/N smiles warmly as she moves to make Hannie her after-school snack. "But we don't have a kitten.
“Can we get one? Please?” Hannie pleads, her big brown eyes sparkling with hope.
Wooyoung chuckles softly, “I don’t see why we can’t.”
Hannie’s eyes widen in delight, and she practically bounces in her seat. “Really?”
“But you’ll have to help with taking care of him or her. That means helping with feeding the kitten, cleaning out the dirt box, making sure there’s plenty of water and all that comes with having a cat,” Y/N tells her, letting her know that since she wants a kitten, she will also be responsible for the tiny creature.
“I promise!” Hannie exclaims, her excitement bubbling over.
Wooyoung smiles, “That’s sorted then. We’ll start looking for a kitten this weekend.”
