i hope ruby gets a well-that’s-alright-then-style notdeath. on the one hand it will make haters mad because oh no not another companion with an impermanent end (and i like to see haters mad) on the other it would require creativity to depict this in a new way + i love all the implications i love the dark fairytale quality of these companion exits i love my un-undead schrodinger’s women

with the way the legend of ruby sunday is titled… legends aren’t usually told about living people. legends are stories of the bygone past, of an age long since over, fictionalised and overgrown with folklore like barnacles sticking to an abandoned shell. there is such a thing as a living legend, but they’re exceedingly rare. the unmistakeable raven’s call in the 73 yards teaser, the trailer’s cut to fifteen crying alone after promising to cherry he’d protect her daughter… the foreshadowing is clear as day…

and yet. there’s one massive HOWEVER. ruby appears in s15: millie’s been spotted on set filming it. which leads me to believe — the doctor isn’t one to take the time travel route and revisit companions that in his future are genuinely dead. that would hurt too much, it would cause unnecessary trauma and could break the timeline. that must mean ruby stays alive in some way. ish. she’s alive and a legend and a mystery. girl-ballad girl-song girl-paradox

So in this AU, where Snow decided to fight against the Capitol. How did that happen? What happened to him that had him go "Wait...maybe this isn't the way to go. We should leave for now."

I'm so sorry for not answering sooner.

You see, in this au the ending never happened, Coryo never lied and Lucy Gray accepted him yada yada they travelled and ended up in 13. When they were found they presented themselves to 13 as runaways (himself a trained peacekeeper assigned to district 12 from district 2) Though, they were relatively safe and stable and he was able to climb to power and took back what was "stolen" from his family, Coryo does not want to stay down there forever. He hates the lack of opulence, luxury and life. He also holds a grudge against the Capitol for his "downfall".

In 13, he holds a different name along with Lucy Gray and he wants his name back and his family name's old glory back and of course he wants to get back to Tigris and Grandma'am (tho, grandma'am croaked before they meet again). He hates that he is in hiding, he hates that he is hidden and as president there, He cares little about the people in 13 but Lucy Gray does so he does his best to make the place better for her and his kids (of course himself, he is ambitious and wants some kind of privilege no matter how small in 13) so he's in semi-in contact with the rebels and the Capitol themselves, exchanging goods with them and accepts refugees due to 13's little supplies and population. Then the pox outbreak happens and it was when his son, Orpheus Sage, almost died that he can no longer bear it and so he had 13 join the rebellion fully. After the war was won, he was elected as president of Panem (and all the things it entails) and moved his family to the Capitol.

TEENAGE METAL HEAD KAFKA

So a couple people had posted some fanart of a sort of Rock band AU starring Reno, Hoshina, and Narumi, right?

Here's the thing... I have had this idea for a while now. I have plans to talk about this in some up and coming fics... This has a severe choke-hold on my brain and I had no intention to express this any other way until I saw the fanart this morning. Apologies while I try to ride the coattails of others success because I NEED other people to be obsessed with this so I can stop feeling alone in this idea

I'm going to go into more detail about my headcanons for this particular idea in the fic this pertains to when it comes out, but I just wanna say that I like to think he had a shit-ton of piercings. He still has his nose ring hole, but he doesn't wear it anymore because he had to lose it to get a job. It freaks the shit out of Iharu and Reno when he cleaned it out at base though. The guitar is supposed to be black with gold streaks running through it kinda like how they do kintsugi, but he was already wearing a lot of black already and I haven't mastered shading that well just yet. And I originally wanted to have him wear the School of Rock Jacketless Leather Sleeves but I chickened out at the last second. The pose with the guitar was originally going to be based off of one I found of Sleep Token, but the pose didn't turn out right. Now instead of looking badass like I wanted, now there's just a corner with him looking cozy.

Honestly, a major part in how I characterize him is him acting like an Elder Badass Mother fucker. Like I get he's supposed to be goofy until shit hits the fan, but I would like to see him be cool in his off time too. He would absolutely be the last one on base anyone would expect to have almost tasted stardom, like he got to sing duet with Five Finger Death Punch or something. Of course he's not the type to brag about it or anything, he's just the type to be casual about having all these moments where he got to rub elbows with a lot of famous musicians. I can just see him getting into a fight with Narumi over a band or something and Kafka pulls out the "Buddy, I was supporting them back when they were the opening act for Black Sabbath. I still have the autographed tour list t-shirt from '86!" (For context, Black Sabbath is 55 years old.)
