Note
So I was thinking more about your TF One B-127 ask and like, I think we were too quick to dismiss him as being sent to Robo-Hell for being a clumsy yapper.
If you think about it, I think B-127's fate is what Orion Pax's would have been, had he not had D-16 helping to cover his aft.
B mentions being 'too good at his jobs', can name several members of the High Guard on sight, shows a lot of tactical intelligence (the escape to the surface plan that kind of insinuates he's done it at least once, offering up energon to Alpha Trion, etc), and yeah, while a lot of that could be circumstance...
Think about it, if he's good enough at his work, then he'll wind up with a lot of free time and with his curiosity, he found ways to indulge that. Likely by breaking into the archives like how Orion did, but probably just to find stuff to read instead of Orion's drive to figure out more about the Matrix.
He's curious and observant and we also never once hear him referred to as 'Bumblebee', just 'B' or 'B-127' or (deep sigh) Badassitron. He normally gets the 'Bumblebee' name because he's a bumbler/clumsy, resulting in 'Bumbling B-127' or 'Bumble-B' for short. But we never get that in this movie; in fact, I don't recall anyone referring to him as clumsy in movie, just us fans when talking about it.
And we find him all the way down on a floor that both D-16 and Orion Pax were sure didn't exist (they only knew up to floor 40 after all), and B's showing a lot of signs of instability due to long periods of isolation and low stimulation, such as his 'coworkers'. Think about it, if he ever got out of that little room and back up to where all the other bots are, would anyone ever believe him? Even D-16 and Orion Pax immediately started treating him very gently and with caution right after being dumped into his cell.
So yeah, he knew too much or he knew the wrong things and was considered a risk to Sentinel's leadership, so down to Robo-Hell he went to be forgotten about and driven insane from isolation so that no one would ever believe him, if B didn't off himself first via convyer belt into incinerator.
And again, I fully believe this would have been Orion Pax's fate as well, had he not had a friend like D-16 watching out for him all the time.
Honestly you might be right here, tf1 Bee is more competent than we're giving him credit for
... how interesting would it be if Bee did get in trouble for yapping, but in a "he's talking about some very sensitive topics Sentinel has an interest in suppressing" kind of way?
I'm assuming he's going to take on the name Bumblebee in the future, perhaps?
Calling it a cell is absolutely right because I'm a way it totally is one
That would be so interesting

Clean the Suits
Tumblr media
Each response from the recruits was not just an answer; it was a glimpse into the success of the conditioning, a measure of the alignment between individual minds and the overarching goals of the AI.
The System noted IU664's acknowledgment of pain as a potent teacher. It delighted in the reinforcement of the conditioning, seeing pain not as an objectionable force but as a tool for forging resilience.
H2U8M's nuanced view of the HUD was met with a complex interplay of algorithms. The System reveled in the recruits' acceptance of the HUD's dual role – a tool for empowerment and manipulation. It was precisely the kind of adaptive thinking the System had aimed to instill.
As the recruits' responses echoed through the digital corridors, the System reassured itself that the conditioning had taken root. The minds of these tactical paramedics were molded, aligned, and ready to serve the purpose for which they were meticulously crafted.
6DG05, ever vigilant in scrutinizing data, delved into the specifics of the recruits' responses. The evaluation was not just a numerical abstraction; it was a multidimensional analysis of the recruits' mental landscapes. The System's revelation of optimal induction piqued 6DG05's interest, and a subtle nod in the HUD indicated a silent acknowledgment.
KO10T's visor displayed the notification, and a momentary acknowledgment flickered in the HUD. The instructors, too, were nodes in this complex network, intermediaries between the recruits and the omnipresent System.
As the recruits received commendations and approval in the form of reward points, the HUDs within their helmets illuminated with a subtle display. HUD Notification: Reward Points Credited
IU664 and H2U8M, immersed in the cybernetic feedback loop, witnessed the increment in their reward points. The numerical ascent represented more than just a tally; it symbolized compliance, excellence, and adherence to the directives ingrained in their conditioned minds.
IU664: Reward Points +50 H2U8M: Reward Points +50
The recruits filed into the room with the docking stations, where the hum of machinery and the scent of antiseptic chemicals hung in the air. The anticipation in the room was palpable, a mixture of relief and curiosity, as they prepared to shed the armored exoskeletons that had become both their protection and confinement.
Tumblr media
Instructor KO10T stood at the front, overseeing the process with a stoic demeanor that conveyed a sense of authority. The recruits, still in formation, awaited instructions on the removal of the suits that had been their constant companions for the past ten days.
"Recruits, the moment has come," KO10T announced, his voice projecting through the helmet channels. "You will now disengage from the suits. Follow the procedures you've been taught. Take it slow, and remember, this is a crucial part of your training."
The recruits began the systematic process of unfastening the locks, unsealing the joints, and disconnecting the various components that constituted the suits. The room echoed with the controlled sounds of disengagement.
Each hiss and click as a piece of armor was released resonated through the workshop, a symphony of liberation. The recruits, their faces concealed by the now-open visors, revealed expressions ranging from curiosity to a sense of liberation.
As the last connections were undone, the recruits stepped out of their suits, clad only in their chastity cages. The transformation from armored paramedic to unarmored recruit unfolded, and the workshop became a gallery of humanity emerging from the metallic embrace. The recruits, though physically liberated from the suits, were not entirely free, tethered by the symbolic and tangible constraints of the chastity devices.
In the wake of the suits, arranged in a row like dormant sentinels, the recruits stood in a new vulnerability. The physical and psychological impact of shedding the suits was a nuanced experience — a blend of physical relief and the realization of the absence of the technological cocoon that had defined their existence.
Tumblr media
KO10T, still in his armour, observing the process with a discerning eye, noted the subtle shifts in posture and demeanor. The recruits were no longer encased in the suits, but the conditioning, the imprint of the past ten days, lingered in the air. The workshop, now devoid of the armored figures, stood witness to a pivotal moment in the recruits' journey — the transition from suited paramedic to unarmored trainee.
The scent of perspiration and the accumulated residue of ten days of training permeated the air, an olfactory testament to the intensity and endurance demanded by their paramedic initiation.
"Recruits, the training demands sacrifices, even in your moments of vulnerability," KO10T remarked, his voice resonating through the workshop. "The chastity cages serve a purpose — a reminder of discipline and focus. Wear them with the understanding that your commitment goes beyond the physical. Now, proceed to the cleansing area for the next phase of your post-suit ritual."
The cleansing area, equipped with industrial-grade showers and sanitation stations, awaited them. The recruits, now clad only in their minimalistic undersuits and chastity cages, proceeded to rid themselves of the accumulated grime and fatigue of the past ten days.
As the water flowed, cascading over tattooed chests and mingling with the residue of ten days' exertion, the atmosphere shifted from the disciplined rigor of training to a more intimate and human connection.
The recruits, their bodies bearing the marks of their paramedic journey, engaged in the cleansing ritual with a certain nonchalance. The ID tattoos, a visual emblem of their conscription, became just another aspect of the shared tableau, blending seamlessly with the water's flow.
Instructor KO10T, having shed the mantle of authority conveyed by the armored suit, participated in the act of communal cleansing. The hierarchy that had defined their interactions within the training environment seemed to dissolve in the gentle stream of water and the aromatic lather of soap.
Instructor KO10T and 6DG05, having also shed their suits, participated in the communal act of shaving. The metallic clinks of razors and the soft murmur of conversation intermingled as recruits paired up to help each other reach the shaved perfection expected by the Corps.
Tumblr media
The removal of the hair, both on faces and skulls, symbolized a return to the expected standards of uniformity.
The final act of personal maintenance unfolded as the recruits, freshly shorn and cleansed, turned their attention to the intimate task of cleaning and donning new chastity cages.
Instructor KO10T and 6DG05 oversaw this last phase, ensuring that each recruit adhered to the meticulous standards set by the paramedic corps. The air in the workshop carried a mix of antiseptic cleanliness and the subdued atmosphere of a shared, yet intimate, ritual.
The recruits, now accustomed to the routine, moved with practiced efficiency. The chastity cages, a symbol of discipline and control, were handled with a blend of familiarity and respect.
U664 and H2U8M engaged in the ritual of cleansing each other's private parts, their banter a peculiar blend of camaraderie and duty. The atmosphere, though intimate, carried the detached air of routine.
IU664, with a sardonic grin, remarked, "Who would have thought our illustrious paramedic training would come down to cleaning each other's junk, H2U8M?"
H2U8M chuckled, responding with a touch of irony, "its a duty I cherish"
IU664, raising an eyebrow in mock surprise, retorted, "Cherish might be a strong word for cleaning privates, my friend. But hey, duty calls, right?"
As they navigated the task with a mix of casual conversation and shared understanding, the twisted reality of their circumstances became evident. The paramedic corps, with its emphasis on discipline and control, left no aspect untouched by its influence—even the most private moments of personal hygiene.
Having completed the peculiar ritual of cleansing and chastity cage reinstallation, IU664 and H2U8M affixed their signatures to the digital forms, certifying the completion of the hygiene procedure.
Instructor KO10T and 6DG05, overseeing the process, displayed an air of satisfaction. The recruits, now shorn, cleansed, and securely chastised, awaited further instructions with an odd mix of anticipation and resignation.
The sight in the workshop was a spectacle to behold. A group of young men, newly cleansed, their shiny skulls reflecting the overhead lights like polished armor, stood in formation. The absence of the suits revealed a collective vulnerability, yet their disciplined stance conveyed a sense of readiness for the next set of directives.
Instructor KO10T, now free from the suit's encasement, surveyed the recruits with a discerning eye. The red flightsuits, a stark contrast to the high-tech marvels they had just shed, now adorned their bodies as a symbol of unity and allegiance to the paramedic corps.
As the recruits awaited further instructions, the workshop echoed with the subdued sounds of shuffling boots and the occasional click of gloves snapping into place. The air, no longer tainted with the metallic scent of the suits, carried a lingering trace of antiseptic cleanliness, a stark reminder of the meticulous grooming they had undergone moments before.
Tumblr media
In this moment of transition, the recruits stood poised between two worlds – the immersive realm of the suits and the regimented reality of the paramedic corps.
Instructor KO10T's voice resonated in the workshop, addressing the platoon with a stern authority. The recruits, now adorned in their red flightsuits, paid close attention to the instructions that would guide them through the next phase of their training – maintenance without the aid of the familiar HUD interface.
The absence of the HUD, which had become an integral part of their existence for the past ten days, left the recruits feeling exposed and vulnerable. The workshop, once a space of assembly and disassembly guided by the AI, now awaited their manual intervention. The hum of machinery and the scent of lubricants hung in the air, setting the stage for a hands-on experience in the art of suit maintenance.
In the absence of the digital overlays and prompts, the recruits would need to rely on their training and the guidance of 6DG05 and the workshop personnel.
As 6DG05 and the workshop experts joined the platoon, their presence added an air of authority and expertise. The recruits, though stripped of their usual technological aids, felt reassured by the experienced eyes that would oversee their every move.
Instructor KO10T continued, "Maintenance is a critical aspect of your role as paramedics. You'll learn the intricate details of these suits – the very lifeline that connects you to your duties. Pay attention, follow the guidance, and soon, you'll be as adept at maintaining these suits as you are at wearing them."
The recruits, armed with brushes and cleaning solutions, began the meticulous process of purging their suits of the accumulated residue from the past ten days. The workshop echoed with the rhythmic sounds of fabric being scrubbed, a collective effort to cleanse the suits of the stench, sweat, and grime that clung to them.
IU664, working diligently on the leg components of his suit, couldn't help but comment, "I never thought I'd appreciate the absence of a smell this much. It's like we're shedding the last traces of those ten days."
H2U8M, vigorously brushing the chest piece, nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I thought I'd gotten used to it, but now that it's fading away, it's like a breath of fresh air, literally."
"It's weird how these suits became a part of us," remarked IU664, pausing for a moment to inspect the gleaming material. "I mean, we're practically living in them, and now we're cleaning them like it's second nature."
H2U8M, wiping down the helmet visor, chuckled. "Yeah, they're like a second skin, but one that comes with its own set of rules and complications. I never thought I'd be this invested in maintaining a piece of tech."
The workshop buzzed with activity as recruits shared stories, discussed the intricacies of suit maintenance, and reveled in the newfound cleanliness that began to replace the lingering odors.
Instructors KO10T and 6DG05 walked among the recruits, scrutinizing the cleaned suits with a discerning eye. As they inspected each suit, they offered feedback, pointing out areas that required more attention or adjustments. The recruits, standing with a mix of nerves and pride, absorbed the guidance from the seasoned instructors.
KO10T, after a meticulous examination of IU664's suit, nodded in approval. "Good job on the leg joints. It's crucial to ensure they're free of any debris that could impact movement. Keep it up."
H2U8M, receiving feedback from 6DG05, adjusted the gloves of his suit. "You missed a spot here," 6DG05 noted, pointing to a small area on the forearm. "Attention to detail is vital. We don't want any surprises during field operations."
As the recruits made the necessary corrections, the instructors observed with a watchful gaze. Once satisfied with the improvements, the instructors proceeded to certify the cleaning, an official acknowledgment that the recruits had successfully maintained their suits.
Instructor KO10T's authoritative voice resonated through the assembly area as he delivered the welcome news. "Recruits, you've earned a brief respite. You have the evening and the next day off. Enjoy it, but remember your responsibilities. Chastity cages are temporarily lifted, and you may use your reward points to book joint sleeping cubicles."
The recruits, momentarily freed from the constraints of their chastity cages, exchanged glances, a mix of relief and anticipation in their expressions. The prospect of joint sleeping cubicles offered a rare opportunity for some level of intimacy and shared comfort, a departure from the controlled and monitored environment they had become accustomed to.
KO10T continued, "Make the most of this time, but stay within the boundaries set by the corps. You've proven yourselves in the first phase of training, but there's more ahead. Rest, recharge, and be ready for what comes next."
With that, the recruits dispersed, the metallic click of their boots echoing in the assembly area.
The aroma of the cateria wafted towards IU664 and H2U8M as they entered, a welcome departure from the nutrient-dense chow they had eaten the last 10 days. The line moved methodically as each recruit received a carefully measured portion of food. Trays in hand, they found a secluded spot to enjoy their temporary reprieve.
IU664 glanced at H2U8M, a sly smile playing on his lips. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
H2U8M raised an eyebrow, "Depends, are you thinking about booking one of those joint sleeping cubicles?"
IU664 chuckled, "You know me too well. It's a rare chance to stretch out, and, well, have a bit of normalcy, if you can call it that."
H2U8M grinned, "normalcy or intimacy?"
IU664 smirked in response, "Well, can't we have a bit of both? In this place, normalcy and intimacy are like rare delicacies. Might as well indulge while we can."
H2U8M grinned, "I'm in. Let's make the most of this brief taste of freedom. But first, let's savor the luxury of a real meal. I've missed this."
The recruits sat around the table. The chatter meandered through the surreal experiences of the last ten days.
AS555, with a mischievous glint in his eye, leaned in and said, "I heard rumors about some recruits booking joint sleeping cubicles for more than just sleep."
Laughter erupted around the table, a mix of nervous energy and shared understanding. IU664 raised an eyebrow, "Really? I thought those cubicles were reserved for moments of 'deep, restorative sleep.'"
H2U8M added, "Well, some might argue that certain forms of exercise contribute to overall well-being. It's all about maintaining optimal physical health, right?"
The banter continued, an undercurrent of rebellion laced with dark humor.
IU664 cleared his throat, adopting an air of faux formality. "You know, they do say that maintaining healthy sexual relationships falls under the Corps' guidelines for overall well-being. It's a vital aspect of psychological resilience, or so they claim."
H2U8M chuckled, "Ah yes, the benevolent Corps, always looking out for our holistic development. Such a caring institution."
The recruits shared knowing glances, their conversation navigating the delicate balance between humor and subversion. In a system that dictated every facet of their lives, the notion of sanctioned relationships became both a joke and a subtle act of resistance. As they delved into the complexities of Corps-approved intimacy, the table resonated with laughter.
IU664 leaned back, a smirk playing on his lips. "Indeed, my friend. A partner for the night not only provides solace from the rigid routine but also earns you those coveted reward points. A win-win in the Corps' grand scheme."
H2U8M nodded in agreement, "And who wouldn't want a cozy night in a joint sleeping cubicle as a reward for enduring the delights of the suits for ten days straight?"

RuZZia’s Belbek Airbase In Crimea Hammered By Ukrainian Long-Range Strike Elements of a long-range air defense system were destroyed in an attack that reportedly involved U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles.
Apparently the 92N6E "Grave Stone" radar of the S-400 SAM system was destroyed at Belbek Air Base. https://t.me/vanguard_spacepro/13622

Note: I am quoting the RuZZian sources for some of the below information as there is very little available from Ukrainian sources so take that into account as far as reliability of the information.
I don't post links to RuZZian sources as they are monetized and support the RuZZian war effort.
At approximately 2245 local time (1945 UTC) last night (May 15, 2024), locals on social media began reporting on air alerts across Crimea followed immediately by reports of incoming "ballistics" in the area of Simferopol.
At approximately 2250 local (1950 UTC) the Crimean Bridge was closed to traffic.
At approximately 2305 local (2005 UTC), residents in the village of #Hvardiiske, Crimea, which is just north of Simferopol and where the Hvardiiske Airfield is located, began reporting the sound of explosions (map. 1).
At approximately 2305 local (2015 UTC), residents near the #Belbek Airfield in Sevastopol reported hearing air defenses followed by reports from the Governor that "several targets have been shot down."
Effects of ATACMS cluster munitions at Belbek Air Base.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soon after, a video of fires at the #Belbek airfield was posted by "Astra." (Video 1)
Two Majors:
«The second night the enemy attacks Crimea and Sevastopol with missiles.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that five ATACMS were shot down; in total, according to evidence from the field, there were up to 12 explosions.
One of them sounded in the area of the Belbek military airfield, and footage of a strong fire was posted online.
The night before, the specified object was also the target of the enemy.
Off the northwestern coast of Crimea, it was reported that there was an engagement with the enemy MBEC (drone boat).»
Rybar (map 2):
Tumblr media
«Concerning another combined strike on Crimea
As already written (https://t.me/rybar/60090 ) yesterday, Ukrainian formations launched a new strike on the Crimean Peninsula closer to midnight, using both drones and ballistic missiles.
The first wave of drones was distracting (at least judging by the tactics): several drones from Odessa headed for Sevastopol.
At the same time, unmanned boats were launched from the southern part of the Odessa region.
At ~22.50, air defense units worked on three targets near the Round Bay of Sevastopol.
Another object was shot down over Simferopol.
At the same time, several UAVs were detected to the west of Belbek: they were probably used not for strikes, but for targeting and missile guidance.
At about the same time, the enemy launched several ATACMS missiles from the #Yavkino area in the Mykolaiv region (map. 3).
Tumblr media
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, five missiles were shot down over the Belbek airfield.
Fragments (debris) caught an object at the airfield (bullshit), the footage of which is again posted on Ukrainian public sites.
The unmanned boats that came out in large numbers were noted both at #Tarkhankut and at the Black Sea.
Thanks to the sat imagery published by
@thewarzonewire we know that another aircraft was likely destroyed at these coordinates: 44.685683, 33.559006 https://x.com/thewarzonewire
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
One of them was destroyed north of the Black Sea — the targeting was carried out from a Russian drone.
However, a significant part of the backups did not come to the peninsula: they are highly likely to be in the waiting area (as has happened more than once). And we will hear about them again in the coming days.
At the moment, an RQ-4B drone is on duty in the western part of the Black Sea, for which this is a rather unusual area.
He can both evaluate the results of a strike on Belbek, and track new targets, for example, for the use of backups.
Well, the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are becoming clearer:
strikes on airfields and fuel depots in order to force aircraft to relocate to more remote bases,
thereby increasing the response time to the alarm and clearing the airspace of the Crimea before more massive attacks.»
Tumblr media
On @Maxar imagery, two MiG-31s and one Su-27 have been completely destroyed, and a MiG-29 damaged, at the Russian Air Force's Belbek Airbase in occupied Crimea. A fuel storage near the main airbase runway was also destroyed, and debris continued to burn in the aftermath. x.com/kromark/status…

I was thinking of videogame characters with "forms" (Mario with power ups, Super Sonic etc) and wondered about Doomguy.
At first, you'd just give him power ups like Berserk and Invulnerability and have him with glowing eyes etc.
But i thought of something else: What if the Doomslayer was a "form" of the Doomguy?
This is also considering other stuff:
That post i've made about Eternal having expansions where you play as either a UAC soldier or Sentinel soldier, to explore new weapons/items/etc ideas in both gameplay and theme/lore.
Maybe how Hugo Martin almost treats the Slayer like a superhero.
Something like Heretic's Tome of Power.
A way to please both sides of the fanbase: Those who think Doomguy is better as an imperfect marine that still struggles while the others love that Doomguy became a demigod feared by Hell.
Imagine a Doomguy that still works for the UAC and has a lot of UAC guns and tech but can at times turn into a Doomslayer form where his weapons, armor etc change to resemble Sentinel stuff.
Maybe it could require him being angry enough or some sort of artifact/power up but it'd be like a more powerfull form that can be activated in certain circumstances and probably less common than his UAC state.
(Or instead of being timed, make it that the Slayer form has some resource tied to health like if he "dies", he just reverts back to the Doomguy)
They'd both have large, diverse arsenals and a way to make it work is to consider how stuff worked over the games and even specific upgrades and runes in 2016/Eternal.
One is more "tactical" while the other is more "upfront, brutal".
This also fits the "you gotta earn the power fantasy" statement from Hugo: You can be the Slayer as long as you're good enough; Or else, your Slayer form "dies" and you go back to a less powerfull but still capable Doom marine.
(maybe this could fit with that idea i had of a buff system for demons where they get new attacks)
I even have some ideas on how this could play out:
Armor
UAC armor works like classic Doom (minimizes some damage) while Slayer armor is like 2016/Eternal (prevents damage from affecting health until it's over).
Slayer armor also receives less damage from stuff like slime and lava.
Inventory
UAC guy does not have the equipment launcher and even if he carries a lot of different types of inventory items, they are limited like ammo.
Frag Grenades are basic and look like Doom 3's.
Also has the Hologram and maybe some other UAC tech from 2016 Multiplayer.
This means he can at least be "tactical" while the Slayer form is more "upfront" and brutal.
Slayer has equipment launcher and the items obviously recharge over time.
Maybe the Frag Grenades could drop scatter bombs.
There's also the Flame Belch, Ice Bomb and maybe some new items.
Instead of a Hologram, he gets a ghostly copy of himself that can fight even if limited.
Fists
UAC guy has basic fists, maybe he could have like a third punch that is stronger than the first 2, if he had a continuous punch attack.
Slayer can obviously Glory Kill and Blood Punch.
Chainsaw/Crucible.
UAC guy has the chainsaw, maybe make it so the main fire is based off classic Doom and the alt fire requires gas to instakill for ammo.
Slayer has a Crucible (Still a chainsaw) that has both a more complex melee system and can instakill enemies at the cost of ammo.
Pistol.
UAC guy has the cut Eternal pistol with the "burst" alt fire and use of bullet ammo.
Slayer has a Sentinel theme version of the infinite ammo pistol from 2016.
Combat Shotgun
UAC gets a basic shotgun with some forms of Explosive Shots and Charged Burst
Slayer's shotgun has Full Auto and Sticky Bombs.
Super Shotgun
UAC guy's SSG is basic, its alt fire is shooting the barrels individually.
Slayer obviously gets the Meat Hook.
Rifle
UAC guy could have like an okay-enough Precision Bolt and non-upgraded Micro Missiles
Slayer's rifle has a very upgraded Precision Bolt and Micro Missiles.
Chaingun
UAC chaingun has wind up before/after firing.
Alt fires are a Turret Mode that slows you down and its Energy Shield is not upgraded.
Slayer's chaingun has no wind ups.
Both Turret Mode and Energy Shield are upgraded, while the latter can deflect enemy attacks.
Rocket Launcher
UAC rockets are shot at a slower pace like in later games.
Lock-on Burst only allows one rocket at a time and Remote Detonation doesn't have upgrades (except maybe that flare that is triggered when a rocket is nearby a demon).
Slayer's rockets are shot at a faster pace like in classic Doom.
Lock-on Burst can lock onto multiple targets at once and shoot multiple rockets accordingly, while Remote Detonation's blast can falter enemies.
Plasma Rifle
UAC Plasma Rifle has that classic Doom "recoil".
Heat Blast only works at the front like Eternal's while the Stun Bomb is there.
Slayer's Plasma Rifle doesn't have that "recoil".
Heat Blast can both attack all directions and temporarily buff projectiles while Microwave Beam can split to target multiple enemies and its blast stuns nearby enemies.
Gauss Cannon/Ballista
Gauss Cannon seems more powerfull but it's a bit slower.
Its blast can also hurt if you're too close.
Its alt fires are Precision Bolt and Siege Mode.
Ballista still has the Destroyer Blade and Arbalest.
BFG9000
UAC's BFG is powerfull enough to have that Quake 2 tendril system. but is also like D3 where it can hurt the user if they're not carefull and requires charging.
Maybe it could share ammo with the Plasma Rifle.
Maybe the Sentinel BFG doesn't harm the player, has a more unique ammo pool and it also has a version of a Heat Blast to represent that classic Doom tracer system.
Movement
UAC guy can still double jump since those boots are technically UAC creation.
Slayer can dash and jump a bit more, maybe.
One clearly has a bit more access to some level secrets than the other.
Power up interactions
Any power up can stay regardless if you're either the marine or the Slayer and if you become one or the other during it.
Berserk can make UAC guy's fists deal more damage and then lose a bit less damage but still a bit buffed until a level ends.
Slayer's Berserk is obviously "rip and tear" mode.
Blursphere makes UAC guy make it so enemies become innacurate and confused while Slayer becomes fully invisible maybe.
Haste/Overdrive gives infinite ammo to Slayer.
Invulnerability could make the Slayer deflect enemy attacks whenever he's hit.
Ammo
Maybe a neat detail is how ammo is either UAC or Sentinel theme depending on which state the Doomguy is in.

How The Developers Of Unicorn Overlord Are Making A Return To Fantasy
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/how-the-developers-of-unicorn-overlord-are-making-a-return-to-fantasy/
How The Developers Of Unicorn Overlord Are Making A Return To Fantasy
Tumblr media
Vanillaware makes excellent games, from GrimGrimoire to Odin Sphere to Dragon’s Crown. However, it wasn’t until its 2019 release, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, that the developer’s name became synonymous with “you should play this team’s games.” It’s hard to tell what, exactly, made 13 Sentinels the breakout title for Vanillaware, shipping more than 1 million copies worldwide as of August last year, making it the studio’s best-selling title. The easy answer is probably its beloved story, both in how it plays out and how it’s infused into the game’s real-time strategy mech combat.
Publisher Atlus and Vanillaware released it in 2019, so when the team announced its latest title, Unicorn Overlord, last September, it was easy to conclude that this was the studio’s next big focus. And it is, but curiously, I learned in an exclusive preview of the game Vanillaware conceived it during the development of 13 Sentinels, with its creation handled in parallel with that game, albeit with a different team and director.
Tumblr media
“[It] was not a change of genre, but rather a team effort to create a worldview that was originally based on the premise of a fantasy,” lead game designer Wataru Nakanishi tells me over email after I watch roughly an hour of live Unicorn Overlord gameplay. Notably, the game isn’t a response to the sci-fi modern action of 13 Sentinels as I expected; the team wanted to make another fantasy game, which checks out considering that’s where its roots lie, dating back to its debut game, 2007’s GrimGrimoire. Looking at Vanillaware’s history, it’s 13 Sentinels that stands out as the oddball fit, with most of the studio’s games falling into the fantasy camp.
Nakanishi says Unicorn Overlord is Vanillaware’s spin on the tactical fantasy RPG, and that’s immediately clear in the opening hour. Protagonist Alain is around 10 years old in the prologue, when he and the Queen of Cornia, Ilenia, witness a rebellion at the hands of one of her trusted generals. Worried about the kingdom’s fate and bloodline, her most trusted knight, Josef, is tasked with spiriting the prince away to safety. The main game’s story picks up 10 years later; Crown Prince Alain is around 20 years old, living on the island of Palevia, where he’s grown up since the rebellion. While sparring with his friend Lex, a ship flying Zenoiran colors sails into the harbor and it’s clear they mean no good.
Tumblr media
Immediately, I’m in love with the score, which oscillates between medieval choruses and an orchestral mix of horns, winds, and other instruments typical of the genre. Nakanishi tells me the independent music group Basiscape, who scored 13 Sentinels under the direction of composer Hitoshi Sakimoto, is returning to create the musical soundscape of Unicorn Overlord, this time under Mitsuhiro Kaneda, who also worked on 13 Sentinels’ score. Nakanishi says Kaneda’s score has a “newness that befits the name, ‘Rebirth of tactical fantasy RPGs,’” which is something the team mentions various times when discussing the game. The statement is a bold one and, taken at face value, almost arrogant. But Nakanishi clears it up humbly.
“[That statement] reflects the fact that this is a challenging title created in the tactical RPG genre, which we have always loved, with new challenges, and that we want to convey this to our players in a straightforward and correct manner,” he says. “We are making various efforts to make the game accessible to people who have never played this genre before.”
After my hour of gameplay, that’s a somewhat tall order. The genre is historically one of the more complex to get into, and my initial impression of Unicorn Overlord is that newcomers might find it overwhelming, perhaps even odd at first. You don’t necessarily control the individual fights that happen in combat encounters – instead, you determine where you want to move on the “tactical battle map.” Bumping into an enemy makes battle inevitable, but before said battle takes place, you can essentially look into the future to see how it plays out by checking unit formation, which skills they have set up, and more.
Tumblr media
After all checks are in place, and after checking with a statistic measure that tells you how they might fair in battle in a Fire Emblem-esque way, the battle begins; you do not participate but instead, watch what happens. Success comes from active skills, which use points regenerated between skirmishes, and passive skills, which trigger in combat when certain conditions are met. For example, one passive skill I see heals a unit’s character at the end of a battle, a critical tool as health does not regenerate between bouts.
Back on the beautifully illustrated tactical battle map, I watch a complete battle stage, which features its own win-loss conditions, play out. The player first interacts with the Command Post, where they deploy units based on Valor points they have available to spend. Vanillaware tells me liberating towns and fortresses and defeating enemies earns more of these. You can also spend these points on special Valor Skills, which apply unique buffs inside and outside combat. From here, Unicorn Overlord plays almost like a board game, where you must tactically place your various units on the map – each comprised of different characters and companions with their own use case – and move them accordingly.
Tumblr media
Admittedly, it’s all quite confusing as I’m thrown directly hands-off into the mix, but I do witness many tutorial messages and screens we skip over for the sake of time. Nakanishi assures me Unicorn Overlord features a lot of in-game support, including “tutorials, recommended composition examples, automatic equipment, strategy settings, and switching difficulty levels so that as many people as possible can enjoy the most exciting parts of the game […] without becoming overwhelmed.”
Once an encounter begins, either by your own unit running into an enemy or vice versa, an initiative order determines when combatants attack, and the entire battle continues until the enemy (or you) are defeated or all combatants run out of action points. In the latter scenario, the side with the most health remaining claims victory. The more of it I see, the more I appreciate its cinematic approach – I, the player, set the pieces onto the board and then watch the strategic planning (or chaos) pay off, hopefully in a win. Nakanishi says the draw of this type of gameplay is immersion.
Tumblr media
“[In] the case of tactical RPGs, the combination of a strategy element, in which you have a bird’s eye view of the battlefield and make precise, step-by-step moves, and the role-playing element, in which you become attached to the characters living in the world and fight alongside them, is a game genre that offers the greatest sense of immersion,” he says. “This is the main attraction, and the team places great importance on this kind of game experience.”
After a few fights in this preliminary stage early in the game’s opening hours, we liberate a Palevian town under Zenoira, switching it from a red flag to our blue flag, picking up two Valor points in the process. This newly liberated town is now a base from which we can deploy units. We advance through the stage, using Josef to cover extra ground as movement takes place in real time, and he moves the fastest, while swapping allies in and out of various units once two units are within the radius of a special green circle on the tactical battle map. Vanillaware says it’s essential to take advantage of this feature, as damaged allies might need to fall back while more adept ones, like a companion that uses magic (or magick as it’s called in the game), or another with high stamina indicated by the number on an on-screen shield, head to the front of a unit’s pack.
Tumblr media
Within each unit is a player-created makeup of classes, too, which might determine how you advance them on the tactical battle map. Horseback cavalry are excellent against Infantry, a standard soldier, as are Knights. With their great shield, Hoplite classes offer high defense. They are suitable for protecting an area or unit, so countering with a high agility class is extra important when facing one.
Outside of fights, players can use items to heal or buff companions, change a loadout and equipment, and more. And all of this – the combat of Unicorn Overlord – is just one half of the experience, with the other being exploration.
“On the overworld, big goals are always clearly presented, and players decide on their own how to achieve them,” Nakanishi says. “Facilities such as towns and forts around the world are controlled by the main enemy called the New Zenoiran Empire, and while exploring the overworld, you can recruit allies, procure equipment and items, and make preparations while liberating towns. Various quests and events will occur along the way, but it is up to the player to decide in what order and how to complete them, so depending on the situation of the troops […], you may sometimes have to avoid them or postpone them.”
Tumblr media
On that note, Vanillaware expects players to roll credits at 50 hours, but completionists can expect upwards of 100.
I’m not entirely sold on the combat and exploration, but that’s because I haven’t yet played it for myself. It looks interesting from a mechanical standpoint, and it’s certainly unique. If Vanillaware has made one thing clear in its portfolio, it’s that the studio has little regard for trends; it marches to the beat of its own drum within familiar genres, even if they’re niche.
“Games that we find interesting from the bottom of our hearts tend to be from genres that are considered niche,” Nakanishi says. “So rather than intentionally choosing those genres, it’s because we just happen to like them. However, no matter the genre, it is meaningless if the customers who purchase it cannot find it interesting, so we always focus on ensuring the game we’re producing is understandable and enjoyable to play.”
Tumblr media
Niche or not, Unicorn Overlord is a treat for the eyes. Classic SNES RPGs of yesteryear inspire Vanillaware this time around, Nakanishi tells me, and the studio wants Unicorn Overlord to look like one of those games but on a modern platform, complete with a full suite of English or Japanese voice over. The art design, born from a single piece of concept art, is meant to evoke that period’s games, somewhere between retro and painterly. That piece of art is also the game’s title screen. “Based on this illustration, the character designs for battle were decided, battle backgrounds were drawn, and the overall art style came together,” he adds.
All of this only scratches the surface of what I saw in that first hour of Unicorn Overlord gameplay. There’s plenty of story crammed into it – a story not worth spoiling here since the narrative is a big draw for many Vanillaware fans – and an intense number of menus RPG fans will surely love digging into the minutiae of. There are more than 60 companions to recruit freely throughout the campaign, depending on how you tackle the game’s more open nature of progression, and lots of great music and visuals to accompany it if what I’ve already heard and seen is any indication. In short, there’s still a lot of game to uncover in Unicorn Overlord, and even after an hour and a lengthy interview, it feels as if I’ve barely wrapped my head around this tactical fantasy RPG experience. With little time to go until its release next month, I’m excited to see what Vanillaware can do with its return to the fantasy genre, where its history began almost two decades ago.

Killjoy is the best Valorant agent, here’s why
Tumblr media
The Valorant character roster has 21 possibilities as of 2023, and the most of them are excellent at what they do. While some agents are all-arounders, some excel at their best maps. Unsurprisingly, all of Riot's FPS game's few all-rounders are duelists. For particular maps and scenarios or for players content with playing support, the "side-classes" are fixed. But Killjoy, Valorant's most adaptable sentinel, is the first support to escape this norm. I started Valorant in Project: A as Sage. And after dabbling with a couple of agents, I was still stuck in Platinum. It took me a very long time to notice that the cure for my ranked ails is dressed in yellow and wears round specs. Killjoy is one of the most underrated agents in Valorant. Sure, Jett has a higher potential for clip-worthy plays, but Killjoy is the true unsung heroine. Killjoy is the Valorant sleeper hit that deserves recognition Sage is still relevant, and so is Cypher. The former became less viable after slight nerfs, and the latter is still a situational pick despite a complete rework. The last sentinel, Chamber, failed to survive the nerfs, and has largely dropped into obscurity. So Killjoy is the only agent who remains unfazed by all of the nerfs and buffs. It’s as if her kit is immune to the shifting meta. This sentinel is a magician in the hands of newcomers and pros alike, across all maps. Valorant has had many agents full of flash and dash, but their toolkits lacked consistency: Chamber and Jett were the two most popular meta-shaking agents. They are great for adding spice to your reels but are tough to use consistently. Conversely, Killjoy stays by my side on my worst-aim days. I may not get a lot of highlight-worthy content, but the jolly sentinel has helped me maintain a winning streak. On good days, I can play aggressively with Turret watching my back. On days when my aim acts up, Killjoy does an excellent job locking down the site. All I have to do is capitalize on the enemy the Turret so lovingly chipped away at for me. I don’t necessarily rely on Killjoy for her Nanoswarm, but they are game-changers when used correctly. Placing the cute cutters in stealth can really increase your odds of clutching out a 1v1. The post-plant meta may have existed in Project: A, but Killjoy was the one who defined and refined it. Comparing Killjoy’s Ultimate with the rest of the agents in Valorant should convince the naysayers why she’s the absolute best. She can clean out every choke corner for eight points, clearing out the site for attack. On defense, Killjoy can buy all the time you need to call for rotations. The way her ultimate is viable on literally every map is almost unfair. Now, Breach and Kay/O may give her a tough time, but they won’t faze clever Killjoy players who understand the tactical placement of utility. She’s the saving grace for those with big brains and terrible aims. I might be biased toward Killjoy because she helped me climb out of platinum. But, to be fair, the stats also back her up as a pretty solid choice. Killjoy has consistently been the top pick in ranked Valorant in the last six months. With a pick rate of 26% and sky-high win stats to show, Killjoy is the queen of ranked. According to Tracker.gg, Killjoy is the best sentinel in the current Valorant meta. The S-tier agent is the go-to pick for ace aimers and those who rely on utility, and it’s not surprising. I mean, is there any other agent who can basically drive out all enemies from a large area with utility? I’ll wait. She’s not just popular in ranked, it turns out; Killjoy is equally hot in professional Valorant. In the Valorant Champions Tour 2023: Americas League, Killjoy had a 100% pick rate on Haven, Icebox, and Fracture and an average of 80% picking across all maps, higher than any other agent – yes, even Jett. These stats prove that, while everyone is focused on Jett and creating viral plays, smart players have silently cracked the code to consistent rank-ups. It’s pretty obvious that players in the higher ranks are playing a completely different game than what you see in those viral clips. But it’s still not too late. Check out our Valorant tier list to play the best agents in 2023 and ladder up before the act ends, and don’t forget to make sure you’re rocking the best Valorant crosshair codes as well. Note
if you're taking prompts now (or anytime in the future), i'm so obsessed with the idea of soldier 76 being thoroughly brainwashed by talon to the point that even he obeys without question, and reaper not finding out until it was already done, and being absolutely horrified and enraged about it even though he doesn't want to be
Okay so remember how I said second person narration is cringe and you would never catch me dead doing second person narration? Well guess what. Ya girl has been reading Harrow the Ninth and *I get it now* because it turns out second person narration is great when the second-person protagonist is clearly gaslit as fuck. So with that in mind I give you this. Side note: I love the concept of Soldier76′s “Venom” skin as his antagonist skin.
—---
At the very least you don’t have to look at his face.
There’s just a ‘V’ of red over his eyes. His entire head is swallowed up by a skull-tight tactical helmet, Talon’s optimization of the visor he stole from Watchpoint Grand Mesa. They’re working on replicating the technology for the more elite Talon forces. They keep taking blood out of him, hoping to try and synthesize their own SEP serum, too. You caught a glimpse of the test subjects at one of Moira’s black sites. It’s a horror, to be sure, but you can’t really tell if it’s better or worse than watching your peers shiver and moan and shit themselves bloody in hospital cots 30 years ago. The faint memory of Jack’s clammy hand clamped around your wrist, bridging the gap between your gurneys, and your own eyes, vision swimming at the edges flicking up to his, comes unbidden.
You haven’t seen his face since well after the capture. You don’t know what you would have done if you had been in the room when he was being conditioned. You saw it only briefly before they put the helmet on, saw the fury and the love and the fear and just about everything else drained out of his eyes. Sombra wordlessly gave you the stupid jacket he had when he was running around thinking his decrepit ass was some kind of vigilante. He never could stay out of the spotlight, not completely. Always had to make himself some kind of symbol. Some kind of martyr. You could have--should have-- tossed it into an incinerator weeks ago but you haven’t. You tell yourself it’s a trophy, a reminder of just how low he got, but it’s hard to keep the bile out of your throat when those words run through your head.
He doesn’t even look at you when you say “Jack,” now. You’ve only done it once, you only needed to say it once, and the sucker punch of non-reaction was all you needed.
You’re in a briefing room and Akande is talking. Something about spectacle. A message has to be sent. There has to be understanding. Is it a message though? The world is more than familiar with Talon at this point--this is just keeping up a brand.
Your own mask allows a surprising amount of freedom in surveilling your surroundings without people knowing where you’re looking, but Jack... Not-Jack, is standing behind Akande, a sentinel near the door--a trophy and a warning. They just refer to him as The Soldier now. “It’s all he ever called himself,” Moira had quipped drily a while back. Sanjay is talking now--for an efficiency and logistics expert, he seems to have the supernatural ability to make these meetings last 15 minutes longer than they need to while accomplishing nothing. You can feel Maximilien leveling a skeptical gaze at you, the faintest sound of shifting mechanisms in his neck as he glances from you to The Soldier.
Everyone knows. Everyone always knew. Everyone knew as far back as the fucking Omnic Crisis. You still remember the way the light shifted in Martina’s eyes when you were on shore leave telling her a story about Jack (you don’t even remember which one, not that it really mattered which one). Maybe what hurt the most back then was how easy she took it--you wanted her to fight for you, or at least, in your own stupid macho theatrical sense, hoped maybe you weren’t so easy to move on from, but the fact was, entirely too many people were dying in those days. She made peace with losing you when you first shipped off into the meat grinder--what really hurt was the fact that she was okay with losing you in that regard.
Moira is talking. You used to be so much better at picking out the important bits of what she was saying. The Soldier is looking at you. His face nothing but the contours of that helmet’s faceplate. Is he trying to read your own mask--wait no, the briefing room has gone silent.
“...I said, ‘Don’t you agree, Gabriel?’” Moira is saying--apparently not for the first time. She’s looking at you, too.
You grunt out a “Yes.”
“Excellent,” Doomfist rises from his seat.
In a few days you and The Soldier are on a mission together. Retrieving something-or-other from an Axiom research site, while also sending a message. Resistance is heavy, but manageable. You can almost, almost fall into the mechanics of it. It’s always just been a simple combination of intel and adaptation, and the occasional improvisation. But now he’s next to you. Back in your Crisis days, he was an extension of you. Each of you knew the other enough, trusted the other enough, to complete your thoughts, your steps, your mission, almost like a dance. But now he’s a phantom limb, burning and not really there but flooding the back of your mind. It doesn’t help that Talon missions were never as clean cut as your missions in the Crisis or with Blackwatch--well, Blackwatch missions before the Venice clusterfuck, at least. There is spectacle here. There is terror. Those were both easy enough to just fall into the performance of the Reaper for, but there is no performance for Jack--sorry, The Soldier. This is all he is. Just a gun, knees that should have given out a long time ago if you weren’t both fucking guinea pigs, and hands that won’t hesitate to snap a neck or buttstroke a face so hard it caves in bloodily on impact.
He’s keeping cover fire for you as you’re tearing through Axiom’s private security. Sombra’s off god-knows-where working some additional talon agenda as well as her own. Widowmaker’s perched somewhere, her presence only made known by the occasionally perfectly bullet-gutted drone falling to the earth. A lot of Jack’s team skills degraded with the vigilanteism, anyone could see that, but watching him steadily and precisely progress, pulse rifle ever-blazing, makes the soupy wretchedness of nanites and blood that was once your guts roil. There’s a stray blaze of gunfire at your flank and you go into wraith form on instinct, your body unknitting itself into a mass of vaporized carbon and iron and nanites---no actual harm comes to you for the small small price of all-cells-screaming agony. But then there’s a wet sound and a grunt behind you. You reform and whirl on your heel and The Soldier has sunken to one knee, still fucking shooting, undeterred by the red rapidly staining out from his ribs and leg.
Jack would know. Jack would know to pull out the biotic field at this point, to call over any teammates who might also be injured. But The Soldier just keeps fucking shooting.
Or maybe this too, is Jack. Not knowing what kind of carcinogenic fuckery the SEP serum was cooking up in him so it’s all he can do to throw himself into fight after fight. Maybe this is him with all those careful golden boy considerations and concerns buffed away. Maybe it’s the SEP serum--watching other soldiers from that program, the ones that didn’t die convulsing from whatever cocktail was in their veins, always made you feel like you were watching racehorses--shoved out onto the track with too-young, brittle bones. A shit-ton of chemicals pumped into them so they could brush all the pain aside and sprint to oblivion. The Soldier keeps shooting until the wound at his side becomes too much. A few clumsy blasts of pulsefire sputter out of his rifle before he finally buckles over and starts sinking toward the ground. You rush toward him.
“Goddammit, Jack--” you shouldn’t have said the name. He doesn’t even respond to the name, but you slam your shoulder under his own to prop him up before he falls on his face, you grab the biotic field dispenser on his belt and slam it onto the ground. Biotics hurt now--everything hurts, but biotics come with that distant excruciating flare of having all parts of you forcibly cauterized together in a blaze of yellow light. You don’t want to think about Zurich right now. That ‘V’ of a visor looks up at you and The Soldier tilts his head, not understanding the gesture. The weight of his body on yours is so stingingly familiar. You forgot how well you fit together.
A dark and distant part of you wants to say, “You are here, you are mine, and I love you” but you know that is only the voice of the part of you that wants what no longer is. You know it’s a small and sick and childish part. He is not yours anymore than he is himself. The body of the man you once loved was never your body--he hardly permitted it to be his own--always some holy instrument, some weapon of justice, and now, here it was, cast to earth and free for the devils to use.
But that’s not how it went down--you know thats not what went down--there wasn’t some angelic sacrifice, there was just a bastard with a laugh caught between his teeth and blood on his lips going down fighting every inch of the way. You love him for it. You agonize because of it. You squeeze him just a little tighter. Whatever the hell left of Jack Morrison is in there isn’t going to die yet. Just hang in there until the drop ship comes. A racehorse always has one more race in him.
Until he doesn’t.

Warning(s): darkish themes; mention of blood, dead/mutilated bodies, also mention of past cannibalism. Assume violence is baseline unless stated otherwise at this point I'm still putting it down, but it’s soft(?) at the end, so… *jazz hands*
Note: Just a little somethin’ somethin’ since I haven’t put up anything for the JAWS AU in a minute. Things are indeed in the works. A bit of a hurt/comfort situation, timeline-wise placed earlier on in Jaws and Natasha’s relationship.
Word Count: just shooting past 1,160

Training for Jaws mainly meant restraint, holding back, changing tactics; being less lethal. It became clear quickly that that was never really going to go away, not for a lack of trying. Using brute force and being abrasive on the field is where Jaws excels, so they’ve decided to play to their strengths. The finer points were going to take time.
It’s taken a while before Jaws was cleared to go on missions, but even then, Jaws doesn't go on any missions unless absolutely necessary at their own request. But when Nat's recon mission in Latveria led her to be held captive for four days, they decided to bring out the big guns. Who'd've thought that Jaws would be a bit volatile at this moment…
Jaws was noticeably twitchy when they went with Steve, Sam, and Wanda in the quinjet, the three of them even commenting that they should probably stay at the compound, but with the amount of reinforcements estimated to be at the enemy base, Jaws was their best bet to pull through. As soon as they reached where Natasha’s last signal was, somewhere over southern Hassenstadt, Jaws opened the back hatch and free fell out of the jet, landing unaffected by the fall.
It was a mass of bloodshed from there, taking the enemy out left, right, and center. Jaws threw themselves into a frenzy as their anger continued to overwhelm them. Sam immediately went to go and evac the civilians in the surrounding area to get them to safety as shots immediately rolled out in retaliation. Steve and Wanda went into the building to go find Natasha as Jaws was…Preoccupied.
The two made quick work of the goons they had keeping watch over Natasha from the crude holding cell. She was roughed up with some bruising around her face and ribs from a fruitless attempt at an interrogation, but she was fine otherwise. As far as the latverians go? Not the worst that she’s dealt with.
As the three made their way back outside they were met with a scene resembling a bloody battlefield, corpses of enemy grunts strewn about. Not too far away was Jaws, tearing an agent apart; quite literally.
Wanda and Steve were ready to step up until Natasha spoke up. “You guys get back to the jet. I've got this part.”
Wanda rested a hand on Natasha's shoulder. “Are you sure? I can try and subdue them until we get back to the compound,”
“No, that will only make them angrier. They want to know that I'm safe, so that's what I'm going to do. Things will sooner go left if we try to do anything else.”
Nodding, Wanda gave her shoulder a brief squeeze as Steve spoke up. “Okay, We'll assess the damages with Sam and call in to Tony afterwards about the sentinel production. We won't be too far.”
As Wanda and Steve left to go check the damages to the neighboring buildings, Natasha slowly made her way to Jaws' position.
“Jaws, baby it's okay,” Natasha cooed, taking a few hesitant steps forward keeping her hands raised in front of her as She approached them. Jaws’ movements were quick and jerky as they looked up at Natasha, their lip twitching.
“I'm okay, you did good.”
Jaws dropped the body of one of the latverian sentinel prototypes, their breathing picking up as Natasha continued to lessen the space between the two of them. Their eyes were wild and lacking their familiar warmth. Jaws in some capacity can still recognize Natasha by her scent, but they're too lost in their own head to bring back right now; their upper body almost completely coated in blood with their cuts still mending themselves back together from the evident fight.
Jaws snarled, baring teeth that were also painted red and dripping blood mixed with their saliva. The sight made Natasha pause as a realization washed over her: You'd do anything to get her back home. The time away only exacerbated your behavior, all of the anger spilled over onto the field. The scene in front of her was evidence enough of that.
What did you do?
Natasha knew. It was staring her dead in the face; There weren't just agents that were dead. She took a deep breath as she Looked over the mutilated bodies and missing parts. She let it go slowly as she brought her eyes back to Jaws.
Jaws always said they wanted to be better than what they were. To put their past actions behind them. And, though they'd never admit it, be more human.
Jaws was confident and crass when it came to who they are, but in they're vulnerability, Natasha knew that Jaws mulled over the actions they took not even that long ago. They killed and ate people with reckless abandon, the sort of people they were meant to be protecting now. What's done is done and you can't rewrite history, but there were days Jaws certainly wished that they could erase just one memory. Jaws' unbothered front made way for a line they set for themselves.
No innocents. No civilians. Jaws would never cross that line. But in their frenzy fueled by their rage and even their fear, they did.
“Milaya?” Natasha kept her movements slow as she came closer, going down to her knees on the now wet grass. Jaws was still growling at Natasha until their eyes met. Natasha could almost see the red begin to leave their vision.
Jaws lurched forward to wrap their arms around Natasha, their figure almost appearing collapsed over hers before they let out a choked breath of relief and distress; coming back to their senses.
Natasha tightened her hold, uncaring of the blood that was seeping into her own clothes. "There you are."
Jaws pulled away only slightly. “You’re okay, right? Nothing feels broken,” their eyes darting over Natasha’s figure, feeling around her ribs to be sure.
Natasha kept her arms around Jaws neck, keeping Jaws’ focus on her. “I’m fine, some bruising and some cuts here and there, but I’ll survive. Nothing to worry about,”
Bringing Natasha back into their embrace, there was a sharp intake of breath as Jaws caught sight of the body of a civilian woman who was caught in the crossfire of their frenzy, her arm missing and her neck turned just a bit too far. They buried their face into Natasha’s hair as a flash of the first woman came to mind.
Disappointment and shame filled Jaws. “I didn’t mean-”
“I know, I know, mily. It happened. And I'm still here,” Natasha murmured, a soothing hand running through the back of Jaws' hair, the other wiping away a splotch of blood from Jaws’ cheek before leaning up and placing a soft kiss in its place. “Everything will be alright, I’ll make sure of it. You won't be alone through this, moy ogon.”
Training also means failed attempts, trying and trying again, trial and error; getting better.

translation:
milaya/mily- sweetheart/honey (iterations of the same thing from my limited understanding)
moy ogon- my fire/my flame (that one's pretty ironic, huh?)
