The Queen's Destiny

Here’s a fun new meme comic! This one was inspired by a comment that Akumu_Oukoku put up on the ol' Discord the other day, where they wished to see the Pyrrha/Cinder destiny exchange brought back up in a climactic showdown with Weiss/Jaune about to die only for the other to come to the rescue and save the day.

I’m pretty happy with this one, especially that flashback panel. Drew Winter a sweater for her little sleep over and story time with Weiss, and I based that sweater off of the sweater TheWestphalianGwent gave to Weiss in his meme. It was a lot of fun editing that panel, giving Winter her smirk knowing Weiss is enamored with the Rusted Knight, shifted those eyes over for that side-eye, set the eyelids down to emphasize that smug look, drew up the book and some minimalist cover art of the best scene in the show, edited out Weiss sitting in her chair in the background as well as the reflection in the floor, replaced Weiss with her adoring Adrian version. It all turned out really good.

Some of you may have caught my early reference to my own Taking Out the Trash meme to start things off. Threw in the ol’ chibi Ghost Pyrrha, for those with a discerning eye. Added another reference to one of my own Therapist Ozpin memes, Cindere is always a good source of fun. Panel 5 reuses a really beautiful thinking Weiss asset that I used in my Culmination in a Kiss meme. And we cap things off with a Fist of the North Star reference. Honestly feels like I’m building up my own cinematic meme universe with all the references and the interconnected plots. I need to get around to my Agent Zwei continuation of that Taking Out the Trash meme, feels a little funny that I skipped forward past that one’s conclusion.

Prank Wars AU: How does Cinder react to Adrian calling her Aunty, even though her and Jaune have only been dating a few weeks?

Saphron: So, how did my brother land a hot babe like you?

Cinder:There’s not much of a story to tell.

Saphron: Seriously? Jaune, getting a girlfriend like you, and there isn’t one hell of a story to tell?

Cinder: You don’t think your brother can’t get a girl like me?

Saphron: Yes.

Cinder: Are the rest of your sisters like this to, Jaune too?

Saphron: Well… It’s, Jaune. So yeah.

Cinder: Well… That explains, Jaune’s self doubt issues.

Saphron: Quit looking for excuses, and tell me how you two got together!

Cinder: Very well. Jaune, and I got into a prank war. Just playing little pranks, and teasing one another. But, there was an unspoken rule that no pranks could be done if we hurt one another, or were too embarrassing.

Saphron: Bet, he got you good. We used to have little prank wars all the time. Jaune was… rather vindictive with some of his pranks…

Cinder: Oh, he was… Anyway, this was just between me, and Jaune. Then one day this team of students, Team CRDL got involved, and pulled a prank on me…

Saphron: What happened?

Cinder: I rather not talk about it. All I will say is that it was extremely humiliating. Everyone was pointing in laughing at me in a way that… broke me. I saw, Jaune among them, and I was terrified how he would act, but, he grabbed a blanket, and covered me up, and took me to the nurses office to gwt looked after. Called my team, and then when they came to check up on me, he left.

Saphron: Then what happened?

Cinder: Nothing. He did nothing because of what happened so, I tried to do something myself.

Saphron: Another prank?

Cinder: No, but he thought it was one.

Saphron: Oh ho ho ho~! You did something spicy didn’t you~?

Cinder: I wore a rather… skimpy maid uniform as a thank you for him helping me.

Saphron: Oh, I bet you looked good in it~!

Cinder: Well, we did make use of it later~! But, he ran when he first saw me in it. But, we managed to clear things out after that, went on a few dates, and here I am; Taking a mini vacation with him to visit his family.

Saphron: But, your happy though, you seem very happy.

Cinder: I’ve never been more happier in all my life before. Meeting, Jaune was the best thing to ever happen to me.

Saphron: That’s nice to hear. He seems really happy with you too. Take good care of him, or else.

Cinder: Don’t worry, I’ll keep good care of him.

Saphron: I’m serious; You hurt him, or you’re gonna regret it…

Cinder: N-Noted…

Saphron: Good! Well, I best get dinner ready. You mind watching, Adrian for a bit?

Cinder: What?! No! Nonono! I don’t think that’s a good idea!

Saphron: Oh relax, you’ll be fine! Adrian’s a little angel! Well, have fun!

Jaune and Cinder

I will not tag this as Knight//fall or Arc//Furnace, or any of those ships. I ask that you do the same if you reblog.

I also acknowledge that this take may not be the most popular. However, I'm always open for discussion on this.

Jaune, and by extension JNR, shouldn't kill Cinder. He should help her defect. Maybe not redeem her given all the carnage she has committed, but defect.

Hear me out.

Jaune's dream is to be the knight in shining armour, the one that slays the big bad, saves the princess and rides off into the sunset. However time and time again, RWBY's story pushes him in another direction. He is a knight in rusted armour, a support knight. He is not meant for attack, he is meant to support his team and anyone who needs it, including someone like Emerald.

And it's for that reason why I believe Jaune helping Cinder defect would fit his story much better than killing her.

Did Cinder kill Pyrrha? Yes. Did Cinder mortally wound Penny, causing Jaune to mercy kill her? Yes.

And he shouldn't forgive her. But Cinder is very much still a victim of Salem, blinded by her ego and Salem's promises of power when she escaped abuse.

But it's also that past that would change Jaune's mind/heart.

In order to properly get my point across, I'm going to explain what would roughly happen for this to take place.

JNR and Cinder fight

JNR overpower Cinder. NR are wounded, Jaune takes chase.

Jaune corners Cinder.

Jaune asks her a rendition of the same question he asked her at Haven, but much calmer this time. "What is wrong with you...? How can you be so broken inside... to take so many lives, and then act like it's something to be proud of?!"

Cinder hysterically taunts Jaune to kill her.

Jaune refuses to give into the same emotions as before

He explains that she was a victim of the same violence that Salem inflicts on others. He explains that he won't and can't forgive her for what she has done to Pyrrha, and countless others. However, he still wants her to have a chance at true freedom, one away from Salem.

Jaune helps Cinder by cutting off her Grimm arm.

Cinder asks what will happen the next time the meet. Jaune hopes they don't meet again, because he doesn't know what will happen.

Jaune tells Cinder to run, and not to stop.

Jaune's story is one of a squire who becomes an unusual knight. A knight who helps people in unconventional ways and helps those who NEED the help, even if they may not necessarily deserve it. He wears his heart on his sleeve and then in his semblance. He is not someone who kills out of desire or rage, but out of necessity and mercy (Grimm and Penny, respectively).

It's for those reasons why I believe that it would do more service to Jaune's character to help Cinder defect, than it would outright killing her.

Jaune was currently in detention with Ms. Goodwitch. The reason is that he was ONE SECOND LATE. Did she really hate him this much? He was sitting on his desk in Ms. Goodwitch's classroom with the said woman beside him, lecturing him.

Glynda: stern look Mr. Arc, are you listening.

How could he? When his drop-dead gorgeous teacher has one of her buttons undone, emphasizing her generous bust even further.

Jaune: gulp Yes, Ms. Goodwitch.

Glynda: raises an eyebrow and leans forward Are you sure?

Jaune suddenly felt an invisible hand grasp his junk tightly, making the poor (lucky) boy squeak. Glynda smiled a bit and used her semblance to lock and barricade the door.

In CMEN’s (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!) dorm room, were two individuals, one of them was JNPR’s dorky leader, Jaune Arc, who was currently tied to a chair and gagged in the dimly lit room.

The second individual was Cinder Fall, the half-Fall Maiden, Salem’s spy, and leader of Team CMEN, Who was currently giving Jaune a lap dance.

Cinder: sultry smile Does my moves excite you, Jaune~?

Jaune: MMMMPH!

Cinder: Glad to hear it~ starts to slowly undress

The woman said nothing, in the blink of an eye, the woman has Jaune against a tree, Jaune noticed he doesn’t have Crocea Mors anymore.

Jaune got a good look at the woman, she wore a Grimm-like mask, a black and red kimono and a sword scabbard, long black hair similar to Yang, and she was very curvy...

The woman grabbed him by the chin and turned his head around in differnet angles, studying him.

Jaune heard the woman hum in approval. With her free hand, she removed her mask. Jaune gasped.

Jaune: YANG?!

Raven: Not, quite, My name is Raven Branwen, Yang’s birth mother.

Jaune was shocked at the news, Yang’s real mother? Where the hell has she been all this time?

Jaune: Errr, okay why are you here and what do you want with me?

Raven: You amuse me, I will you mine

Jaune: ...Wait, wha-AACK!

He was cut off by Raven chopping him on the neck, knocking him out. Raven then put her mask back on, opened a portal and went through, taking the boy with her...

What confuses me most about Arc Furnace/Knightfall is that post-s3 and until s8, out of the main characters or those who inch close towards being main characters, Jaune is the only person who has anything resembling a personal reason to want Cinder dead. Like yeah everyone tries to "defeat" her because she's part of a conspiracy that is literally trying to bring about the End of the World and she is also a mass murderer who killed multiple close friends of theirs, but Jaune goes for the kill -as in, "batter the enemy down then stab at her face" go for the kill. For Jaune it's actively personal, and it's the type of personal that you just can't get over. Even if Cinder goes through a half-baked redemption arc like Neo and Emerald seem to be, how do you get over "She killed my best friend, partner and potential love interest and has used every minute she's interacted with me in any way whatsoever afterwards to rub it in my face"?

Cinder really is zeroed in on killing all of Jaune's love interests though. It's suspiciously consistent.

Almost makes one believe Cindere and Knightfall is canon, and not just in the manga.

I also had to redraw most of Jaune's left arm from the elbow down, after cutting Ruby out of the scene. I think I did a pretty decent job.
