Allah’s name Ash-Shaafee— The One who cures, the Healer— is not mentioned in the Quran, but occurs in a narration of the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Ash-Shaafee is the only one who can cure and heal any disease or ailment. His healing is perfect according to His wisdom and He is the source from which all cures come!
The One Who Cures, the Healer
Shaafee comes from the root sheen-faa-yaa which points to two main meanings. The first main meaning is to cure and heal and the second to satisfy.
This root appears six times in the Quran in two derived forms. Examples of these forms are wa yashfi (“and will heal”) and shifaa’un (“a healing”).
Linguistically, shifaa is used to indicate the cure or healing of a disease or ailment. For example different goods or practises, such as honey, black seed and cupping therapy, as well as the Quran itself are described to be or contain shifaa. Only Allah is Ash-Shaafee, the Ultimate Healer and the Source of all cures!
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Take away the disease, O the Lord of the people. Cure him as You are the One who cures. There is no cure but Yours, a cure that leaves no disease. [Al-Bukhaari] Medical treatment and reliance on Allah
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Allah has sent down the disease and the cure, and has made for every disease the cure. So treat sickness, but do not use anything haram. [Abu Dawood] Also a Bedouin said: O Messenger of Allaah, should we not treat sickness? He said: Treat sickness, for Allah has not created any disease except He has also created the cure, except for one disease. They said, O Messenger of Allah, what is it? He said: Old age. [At-Tirmidhee]
As believers seeking medical treatment does not contradict our reliance on Allah ‘azza wa jall (tawakkul), just as warding off hunger, thirst, heat and cold does not contradict your trust in Allah.
Along with strong reliance on Allah that He will bring you benefit in both worlds and will protect you, it is essential to take the appropriate means which Allah ‘azza wa jall has set in order for us to achieve results. Not using these means and tools is contrary to the concept of tawakkul. [paraphrased from Zaad al-Ma’aad, 4/15, Ibn ul Qayyim]
How Can You Live by This Name?
1. Believe Allah is the only Healer. Realize that Allah is the One who heals whomsoever He wills and He decrees sickness and death for whomsoever He wills. He says: And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things [Quran, 6:17] The Prophet Ibraheem ‘alayhi sallam used this beautiful fact as a powerful tool of da’wah: And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. [Quran, 26:80] It is part of your belief to know and live by the fact Allah is the only One who can heal every disease of your body, mind and heart, by whichever means He deems suitable. So trust in Him first and foremost, and then make use of the lawful treatments He made available for you through medical and other sciences. However, never attribute healing to medicines or other means and always to Ash-Shaafee only. Don’t forget to say say bismillah when you take any medicine
2. Live by the Quran. Included in the guidance for mankind to define the path to eternal success, the Quran is a cure and healing for all types of diseases and problems. Ash-Shafee clearly told us that the words of the Quran are a shifaa (healing);however it is upon you to believe in them and live by them. Allah says: And We send down of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe… [Quran, 17:82]
3. Apply the cures of the Quran & sunnah. One example of treatment from the Quran and sunnah is ruqyah which refers to the recitation of Quran, seeking of refuge, remembrance and supplications that are used as a means of treating sicknesses and other problems. Ruqyah is of two types: ruqyah ash shar’eeya (permissible) and ruqyah ash shirkiyah (impermissible). Ruqyah ash shar’eeya – treatment as prescribed in the Quran and sunnah- must be with the speech of Allah (Quran) and His names and attributes, it must be in the Arabic language, or what is known to be its meaning in other languages and you must believe that ruqyah has no benefit by itself, but the benefits are from Allah.
Scholars have stated that ruqyah is one of the greatest remedies that the believer should use regularly. The greatest of ruqyah are surah Al-Faatihah, surah Al-Falaq and surah An-Naas, which can be used as general physical healing, cure and protection for the evil eye and sehr (magic) as well as psychological and spiritual diseases.*
‘Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: In his last illness, the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to blow breath (into his cupped hands) and recite Al-Mu‘awwidhatayn (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Naas) and then wipe over his body. But when his illness aggravated, I used to recite them over him and pass his own hand over his body for its blessing. [Al-Bukhaari, Muslim] 4. Visit the sick. Visiting the sick (‘iyaadah in Arabic) is a communal obligation as mentioned in Majmoo‘ Fataawa wa Rasaa’il Ibn ‘Uthaymeen. However, the rewards for doing so are enormous. The Prophet said: There is no Muslim who visits a (sick) Muslim early in the morning but seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until evening comes, and if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until morning comes, and he will have a garden in Paradise. [At-Tirmidhee, saheeh] The beauty in Islam is that we should not only visit the sick we know, but also those we don’t know, as we are doing it for the sake of Allah and His reward. Form a group in your community of those who visit the sick, and teach children the reward. Revive the sunnah by saying these supplications: 1. لا بأْسَ طَهـورٌ إِنْ شـاءَ الله – La ba’s, tuhoor in sha Allaah (No worry, it is a purification, if Allah wills). [Al-Bukhaaree] 2. Ask for the person to be healed three times: The Prophet visited Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqaas and said: ‘O Allah, heal Sa’d,’ three times. [Al-Bukhaaree, Muslim] 3. Place your right hand on the sick person and say, as the Prophet did:
أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمَاً Adhhib al-ba’s Rabb an-naas, wa’shfi anta ash-Shaafi, laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadir saqaman (Take away the pain, O Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer, and there is no healing but Your healing that leaves no trace of sickness). [Muslim] [From 5 Beautiful Muslim rights, Khawlah bint Yahya, published by understandquran.com]
*For guidelines regarding rulings regarding ruqya you can use this link, and for rulings regarding medical treatments, this.
A classic work is: Healing with the medicine of the Prophet by Ibn Qayyim al Jawziya. O Allah, Ash-Shaafee, we know that You are the only Curer and Healer. Adorn us with strong belief in You as source of all cures, bless us with tawakkul and lead us to whatever means and treatments are best for us in times of illnesses. Guide us in benefiting optimally from the Quran as healing and bless us with knowledge and application of the treatments You prescribed. Make us of those who visit the sick and gain Your enormous rewards, ameen!
Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem.

Archives of The Cabal - The Secret Origin of "R"
@ladyofsappho You asked me for this months ago, and you're finally getting an answer. @missnight0wl if you're interested I would also be honored to hear your thoughts. @dat-silvers-girl I just tag you in everything I write by now.
I am not caught up on Beyond, and this will deviate from canon in general, but I have tried to combine my original ideas and head-canons with the established lore about The Cabal. Either way, this is my version of R's story, and it's gonna be a long one, my friend. Buckle up.
The story you're about to hear is heavily redacted. People have fought and died and lost themselves and done unspeakable things to contain the secrets written here. Records are, to put it lightly, hard to find. For that is the nature of R.
To properly explain who they are, what they want, and where they come from…one must take a walk through history. Because R is old. Very old. Centuries old. It was primarily the brainchild of two men, but what truly birthed The Cabal was the social and political situation of the magical world at the time the group was formed. Because it is and has always been intrinsically linked to the passing of the Statute of Secrecy. Without that bit of legislation, there simply is no Cabal. Furthermore, The Cabal has always had a vested interest in the Wizarding schools. So we’ll need to talk about the days before The Statute. Before witches and wizards went underground. Back when the magical schools were still in grave danger.
It started...with the school of magic known as Ruqyah.
Before the persecution from the muggles became a larger problem, the wizarding world experienced a period of prosperity that it would never see again. An era that magical historians would later describe as the “Golden Years” that are estimated to have begun at around the point Hogwarts was constructed at the turn of the millennium. During this time, magical education peaked. The wizarding schools in the world numbered thirty-two, with many advanced institutions rising. Their knowledge and power only grew as they reached out to one another and did collaborations, maintaining strong relationships across the globe. Traditions like the Triwizard Tournament sprung up during this time. At the height of enlightenment was the school known as Ruqyah in Egypt. Built into one of the Pyramids, Ruqyah was a haven of higher learning, famous across the world for producing the best Healers, Beastkeepers, and Magical Researchers.
Though the school no longer exists in the present day, there was a time when every young Mage knew Ruqyah, and its unmistakable sigil - the Eye of Horus. Students from all over the world were permitted, even encouraged, to visit the school and participate in the education it offered. Whether it was for a week, a year, or even if they decided to enroll full time. Ruqyah pursued all sorts of goals, seeking knowledge and power. Theirs was the path to enlightenment and immortality - or so it was claimed. But only the truly bold, only those who had lived in the Pyramid for years ever dared to explore the Tombs of Ruqyah, which were said to be cursed. Supposedly inhabited by a malevolent spirit, who was only to be cowed by the presence of students and staff. It was said that they kept this being at bay by perpetuating the study of such pure magic. To many, these were just rumors, though Ruqyah Alums treated these stories with respect and many believed them in earnest. This was yet another reason such pride was taken in the education of the students. In the days of the Golden Years, Ruqyah was truly considered top class.
But The Golden Years were never to last.
Though tension between the mages and the non-magical community had always been an issue, the problem only grew worse during the fifteenth century. The muggles were still licking their wounds after the terrible phenomenon known as The Black Death, which had suspiciously killed very few wizards, the overwhelming majority of its victims being non-magical. A story began to spread, the idea that wizardkind had created the Plague themselves and purposefully unleashed it onto the world. Whether or not there is any truth to this...difficult to say. The Black Death occurred centuries ago and any record of magical involvement, if indeed there was any, has long since been erased. During this time, Witch Hunting was becoming a very popular profession for a variety of reasons, (many of them religiously motivated) and Muggles soon began rallying together to form organized strikes at wizardkind. The conflict escalated beyond the Ministries’ control as witches and wizards who bore prejudice of their own took the opportunity to fight back.
The conflict raged across the world like wildfire, with no end in sight for three hundred years. A period that became known as The Witch Hunter Wars. Ministries passed new laws, and magical schools shifted the focus of their curriculum's. Some began to prioritize subterfuge…others favored combat. Regrettably, wizarding culture became steeped in hatred and mistrust of the muggles. Even Ruqyah, beloved among wizardkind for the scholars it had produced…it too changed direction and began to train a generation of Dark Wizards who specialized in Curse-Breaking. Who learned the most unseemly of secrets, venturing further into the Tombs of Ruqyah than anyone had ever dared go. Some were even said to have met the demon at the heart of the Pyramid.
But it was not enough. The magical community had always been dwarfed by their muggle counterparts. Through sheer numbers alone, the muggles always maintained the upper-hand, doing more and more damage as time went on. The war had destroyed any goodwill the magicals might have felt toward the muggles, and any witch or wizard associating with them was distrusted on principle. Common ground was no longer possible. Coexistence was no longer possible. By the end of the seventeenth century, several Wizarding Ministries had fallen, and over half of the known Wizarding Schools had been eradicated. Eventually, Ruqyah would join them. In 1679, the ancient and beloved school was stormed and destroyed by Witch Hunters. The following ten years, which later became known as “The Decade Without Hope” preempted a “Final Summit” of the International Confederation of Wizards, who had decided at last that enough was enough.
The Decade Without Hope
The Decade without Hope was…a dark time. The vast majority of the magical community believed that extinction loomed on the horizon. That the muggles would not stop until they were gone. Anguish and frustration gave over to hatred. Many young mages committed suicide. Others entered heavily populated muggle villages and sacrificed themselves by casting explosive curses. The future, if there was to be one at all, seemed bleak. The remaining witches and wizards turned on one another, looting and killing became common. Dark Wizards went unpunished, because who was left to punish them? What remained of the wizarding government had their hands full with the Witch Hunter Wars, with preparing the plans for the Final Summit. But these plans were to be interrupted by two dark wizards. Their names were Henri Jean Alerie…and Dai Ryusaki.
During the days before most of the Wizarding Schools were lost, it was relatively common for a student to spend more years in school, to attend more than one academy and graduate with honors from all of them. Ryusaki was a Mahoutokoro Alum, and Alerie had attended Beauxbatons, but both had also been educated together at Ruqyah. They were two of the last students to graduate before the school was destroyed. Alerie and Ryusaki, who had become close friends, traveled the world together after their graduation to seek their fortune. The teachings of Ruqyah were long since corrupted, and these two old friends worked together as partners in crime. In doing so, they frequently communicated by letter, but to avoid detection should their letters fall into the wrong hands, they never added signatures. It had been a longstanding tradition at Ruqyah for the Headmaster, often known as “The Ruqyah” to sign his letters with the Eye of Horus symbol, which closely resembled the letter “R.” A technique that Alerie and Ryusaki appropriated for themselves as a code known only to them.
Ryusaki's Gambit
After The Witch Hunter Wars, and the fall of several Ministries, there were many precious, dangerous magical artifacts in need of relocation. Due to the adaptive nature of magic, which is itself a living force, Dai Ryusaki and Henri Jean Alerie both knew that the remaining schools of magic would be safer than any Ministry. They were as of yet undiscovered by the muggles and seemingly small enough to fly under the radar. The only remaining school the Witch Hunters were aware of was Hogwarts, yet they seemed reluctant to strike the British school, possibly due to rumors that it was guarded by a terrible monster left behind by one of the Founders.
Unspeakables from the Department of Mysteries, as well as their contemporaries in other nations, had already concluded that any dwelling inhabited by multiple witches and wizards for several generations would eventually develop its own independent magical energy, and, in a sense, become a living thing. In the case of wizarding schools, the youthful magic of the students was even stronger, and more changeable. It was the very best chance. Ryusaki knew what needed to be done. He called upon the services of several people whom he trusted. They had graduated from the various remaining schools of magic and eventually rose to lead them, but before that, they had been part of the final classes to study at Ruqyah and were originally Curse-Breakers by trade. Over the years, Ryusaki had maintained correspondence with all of them.
He reached out to Inacio Campos, of Castelobruxo, Zuri Adesina of Ugadou, Sigrid Jorgensen of Durmstrang, Tatiana Morozov of Koldovstoretz, and Hamish Fawley of Hogwarts. There was some reluctance once his colleagues discovered his past misdeeds, but Ryusaki convinced them that his plan was in the best interests of wizardkind, that he was merely trying to repent. Henri Jean Alerie was only too happy to represent Beauxbatons in this endeavor, as Ryusaki represented Mahoutokoro. In time, the two men secured themselves as Headmasters of their respective schools. The only representatives who were not in attendance were Morozov and Fawley. Morozov was disgusted by Ryusaki’s crimes and refused to join the alliance, and with her, the Russian school withdrew from the plan. Fawley expressed agreement with the plan, but was unwilling to play any part in it. Hamish Fawley was gravely ill, afflicted with a mysterious curse from the time he was born. As a result, not only did he have limited time and energy, but he wanted nothing to do with Cursed Artifacts or Curses as a whole. Privately, Alerie maintained correspondence with Fawley, offering his sympathies.
The other representatives went along with this plan, deciding to trust Ryusaki, as he seemed honest…though many of them did not fully trust Alerie. Which was ironic, as he played a crucial part of the plan. It was he who staged the near destruction of the Lebanese Ministry of Magic, where the International Confederation of Wizards had sent them for safekeeping. Using the Imperius Curse to gain access to the heart of the Lebanese Ministry, so the new alliance could steal the Artifacts. Thereafter, Ryusaki waited until the building was empty to cast a terrible fire, a Dark Spell, to make it seem as though the Witch Hunters had struck again, and the artifacts destroyed in the fire. In truth, each of them took possession of one and pledged to guard it indefinitely. To do so, they used their schools. Infused with emergent magical energy that was fueled by generations of children, this alliance truly believed there was nowhere safer. They had all studied at Ruqyah at one point or another. They all knew of the Tombs, those that guarded unspeakable Dark Arts and a nameless Demon.
Within the schools of the Alliance, secret chambers were constructed to house the artifacts, similar to the Tombs. The enchantments and curses placed on these ”Vaults” did not remain stagnant. Left alone, they grew like ivy, evolving and growing in strength over the years. Until, or so they hoped and planned, these secret Cursed Vaults and the treasures they guarded would be forgotten and lost to time. Plotting a strike on a Wizarding Ministry and the theft of the most dangerous artifacts in the world is no small feat. It took the better part of two years to plan, and during this time, the Alliance would communicate with each other using the secrecy they had learned from Ryusaki and Alerie. Signing all of their letters with nothing but the Eye of Horus, represented on the parchment as the letter “R” In time, this group came to refer to itself as Ruqyah, or simply “R” as a coded version - taking the name of the fallen school in an effort to honor the ideals and traditions that were lost. They began wearing red cloaks for subterfuge, echoing the school uniform of the ancient pyramid. Ryusaki could not partake, for he had "turned white" as they say in Mahoutokoro, long ago. His robes would always reflect his sin.
After the Artifacts were hidden, the members of this new faction did not see each other for many years, only communicating through further messages likewise written in code. They had pledged to protect the world from the most powerful and unstable kinds of magic. They knew what kind of danger the Artifacts might have posed if they had fallen into the wrong hands - magical or mundane. Yet during this time, Ryusaki had begun to see the world anew, as he poured himself deeper into magical philosophy. The Mahoutokoro Headmaster had never been wholly evil, and through his efforts with R, he had undergone a change of heart. Feeling remorse for his crimes and resolving to change his ways. Ryusaki dedicated his life to reforming, going so far as to reinvent the dark spells he had learned in Egypt to make them better. He even reinvented the dark spell he had used to destroy the Lebanese Ministry, turning it into the defensive curse known as Protego Diabolica. To the point of willingly turning himself over to the authorities for his various criminal acts - though he did not breathe a word of the artifacts, their locations, or the existence of R.
Alerie, however, went in a different direction.
With access to one of the deadly artifacts, he was free to study it during his spare time running Beauxbatons. During the Decade Without Hope, he continued studies into the most obscure and forbidden branches of magic. Crafting spells, objects, and potions of immense and terrible power. Drowning himself in the rarest and most dangerous enchantments. He went as far as to return to the ruins of Ruqyah and attempt to seek out the malevolent spirit hidden within the pyramid’s depths, thinking he could use its power for himself. But with the school long since abandoned, there was nothing and no one left to guard the entity, who had flourished in the time since Ruqyah’s fall. No one is quite certain what happened to Alerie in the heart of the pyramid. But he was never the same afterward. Some say he went mad, and perhaps he did. But the encounter changed him on a fundamental level. He returned to Beauxbatons wearing a strange amulet and and boasting of how his “third eye” had been opened.
The Crown of Mneme
The International Confederation of Wizards were not blind, they could see that Ryusaki was no longer a danger to the magical world and knew they could make good use of his brilliance - so they made him an offer - to be pardoned for all his past crimes and receive lifelong immunity for any future crimes. In return, they commissioned him to craft a powerful spell that would allow the caster to reshape the minds of others on a massive scale. They invited him to the Final Summit, which was to be held in the Kingdom of Bhutan, to use this magic in a special ceremony. Ryusaki flatly refused such a prospect, until The Confederation fully explained their reasoning.
During this time period, The Confederation was certainly not loved. Much of wizardkind believed that the horrid state of affairs was in no small part due to their inaction and poor decision making. Most did not believe that the Confederation would be able to save the wizarding community. But there were others. Clever mages of higher learning who understood the politics, who were near enough to the inner circle for the whispers and rumors to have leaked down to them. Long before the Statute of Secrecy was signed, many saw it coming. For it was becoming common practice more and more to live a double life, to hide one’s magic from any nearby muggles. Nevertheless, secrecy was paramount. The Witch Hunters could not be allowed to catch wind of this plan. The Final Summit was risky in general. To put all the most important members of the Confederation together, all in one room, was dangerous. Should the Witch Hunters discover that this meeting was to take place, should they strike during the Summit, they would wipe out the Confederation and with it, the last hope for wizardkind. Yet they took a chance and trusted Dai Ryusaki with knowledge of this plan.
After some consideration, he agreed to the Confederation’s offer. He set to work, using all of his magical knowledge and skill in the effort to make the Statute of Secrecy possible. Aided by his old friend Alerie, not realizing that Alerie had plans of his own. Yet as he worked, Ryusaki lamented the fate of wizardkind, doomed to hide away forever…until he had an epiphany. The answer came to him in a stroke of genius. A way to unite both worlds without conflict or bloodshed. Thoughtlessly, he shared his brainchild with Alerie via one of their many coded letters, who then joined him in celebration. In time, Ryusaki crafted the artifact known as The Crown of Mneme. With it, he and Alerie brewed a special potion designed to amplify the Crown’s power when the two were combined. The ingredients for this potion were a closely guarded secret, and the two old friends only ever wrote them down once, on an ancient scroll. These efforts bore fruit, and Ryusaki tested the Crown’s power by treating the trauma of his students at Mahoutokoro. However, attempting to heal the pains and trials of his friend Alerie revealed the horror within his soul, and Ryusaki recoiled. He attempted to excise this evil from his friend, but Alerie escaped.
Regrettably, this discovery sealed Ryusaki’s fate. Alerie could not allow any to learn the truth of what he had seen, of his heritage. The Demon who had hidden in the Tombs of Rugyah for so many years, who now ruled the pyramid in silence…was in truth, a magical creature known as an Ifrit. Precious little is known about them and in the seventeenth century wizards knew little and less. But such an entity is classified as a “non-being” similar to boggarts or dementors, and the Ifrit is highly dangerous. Rarely seen in the West, an Ifrit can live for millennia, and use that time to gradually corrupt the souls of mages around them, yet having no effect on muggles. Long ago, the founders of Ruqyah crossed swords with an Ifrit, bravely fighting the creature and trapping it in an ancient tomb. Building a pyramid around the demon to keep it sealed away, and the prison evolved through the years, becoming one of the most famous wizarding schools of all time. It was always the job of the Headmaster, “The Ruqyah,” to contain the Ifrit.
Alerie had met The Ifrit. The enchantments on the Pyramid prevented it from escaping altogether, but once the last Ruqyah had died, the Ifrit’s magic grew stronger. Before, Headmasters had wielded The Eye of Horus to “block” out the Ifrit’s third eye, which has sometimes been referred to as the “evil eye.” For the Ifrit’s third eye grants them powers such as legilimency, and worse. They can attack and devastate the minds of mortals. Alerie had an encounter with this non-being while it was near full power, and the course of his life became set in stone. For the Ifrit had revealed a shattering truth - many times in the past, it had taken human witches as lovers, one of whom was Alerie’s own mother. Henri Jean Alerie was only half human. The Amulet he wore had been created by the Ifrit some time ago, and it had been given to Alerie as inheritance. In years to come, his seemingly endless longevity and his fearsome talent with the Dark Arts could both be attributed to his heritage. Alerie had left the pyramid a different man, and when Ryusaki discovered the horrors hidden in his soul, he vowed to save his old friend. But Alerie had already decided that Ryusaki could not be allowed to live.
The Final Summit
Ten years after the Fall of Ruqyah, the Confederation met in secret for the Final Summit, in the Kingdom of Bhutan. To discuss their plans, and most importantly, to gauge how successful Ryusaki had been at the task they had given him. The group of mages met and conversed for many days to determine the future of their kind. During this time, when Ryusaki was called upon to present his invention, he instead proposed an alternative solution. He painted a picture for his fellow wizards, describing the utopia in his mind. A world where there was no difference between the magical and mundane. A peaceful, enlightened world where every child born would be blessed with magic. If the Crown could be used for this purpose, there would be no need for secrecy. No need for conflict - no real possibility of another war. The Confederation nervously laughed off such wild delusions and dismissed Ryusaki as a radical before demanding that he relinquish the Crown. When Ryusaki refused, things quickly devolved into chaos.
Ryusaki knew that he could not surrender the Crown, not until he had used it to save the world. The magical community would not hide themselves. They would join hands with their muggle brethren, and together they would expel the forces of evil - creatures like the Ifrit hiding in Ruqyah. The world needed to know about this danger, and that his old friend had already been corrupted by it. Determined to uphold the legacy of what Ruqyah had once been, Ryusaki, who was now on the run, called upon the services of R. A loyal man, Ryusaki expected the Headmasters of the remaining magical schools, the Guardians of the Artifacts, would come to his aid, as he would have done for them. But by then, it was too late.
Alerie had gotten to them first.
As a member of R, he had contacted the others and met with them to discuss the situation. Painting a very different version of events. Alerie claimed Ryusaki’s atonement was a lie. That he had been deceiving the others, and that his sanity slipped further and further toward madness with each passing day. That he had created another deadly Artifact, like the ones R had hidden, and the Confederation was now hunting him. Though the others doubted his tale at first, rumors of Ryusaki’s exploits were spreading, as Alerie’s next visit had been to see the Confederation. With Ryusaki on the run, Alerie had approached them. He offered to do the job that Ryusaki would not, in exchange for the same reward - lifetime immunity from prosecution. The Confederation, who had no other cards left to play, agreed to his terms - none of them having any idea just how long Alerie would live.
Ryusaki’s reputation was soon smeared by the remaining Ministries, in an attempt to discredit him and prevent him from garnering sympathy. His past misdeeds as a Dark Wizard were regularly brought up by his enemies and those who wished to apprehend him and the Crown. The remaining members of R came to believe Alerie’s stories were true, particularly as his newest ally corroborated them. Hamish Fawley, who had previously refused to join R, now accepted full membership and pledged to help stop Ryusaki and hide the Crown of Mneme at Hogwarts, just as the other Headmasters had done in their own schools. Alerie had approached Fawley separately and cut a deal with him on the side. Proposing that the Crown could be used to heal Fawley’s illness and break the Curse on him. Blind with hope, Fawley would have said or done anything that Alerie bid.
Ryusaki had only one friend left he could turn to - or so he thought. The International Confederation could not be trusted. Ruqyah’s members had all abandoned him. But despite the evil in Alerie’s soul, Ryusaki believed he was still a good man beneath it all, and this faith was seemingly rewarded when Alerie appeared like a miracle and helped Ryusaki escape a team of Aurors. The two friends reconciled, and it was at this time that Alerie gave Ryusaki the amulet that he wore, seemingly as a sentimental gift. Ryusaki went on to explain his plan to Alerie. From the shadows, he had worked tirelessly, trying to discover a way to graph magic from a witch or wizard onto a muggle. As he refused to use live subjects or do anything that risked harm to the innocent, his methods were slow and inefficient. There was only one thing left to try - The Crown. Using its power to project magic onto every human in the world by using the wearer as a template. It would never have worked, and Alerie knew this. But Ryusaki was blind with hope, and insisted on acting as the Template himself, just as Alerie planned.
Together, the two men brewed the special mind-enhancing potion necessary to use the Crown on a global scale. Alerie placed the Crown on Ryusaki’s head. Yet as the power began to overwhelm him, Ryusaki was suddenly struck in the back by his oldest friend. The two began to duel. It was during this time that, in the struggle, the Scroll containing the ingredients for Ryusaki’s special mind enhancing potion was torn in half, with each of the men taking one piece. Ryusaki had no strength, the Crown had drained him like a battery, and he had no choice but to take it off, to leave it behind. Yet using the last of his energy, Ryusaki fled, and hid his half of the Scroll. Rather than pursue him, Alerie claimed The Crown, before sending the same team of Aurors - who had been on his payroll the whole time - to apprehend the wounded Ryusaki.
Alerie brought the Crown back to the Magisterial Chamber of Ancient Wizardry, as promised. It was here that the members of the Confederation cast a vote, and soon emerged from their talks with a signed document known as the International Statute of Secrecy, marking the official end of The Witch Hunter Wars. Alerie wielded the power of The Crown of Mneme. With it, he caused all the muggles to forget magic was ever real. The two worlds became permanently divided, and Ryusaki's hopes of a utopia of enlightenment and immortality, a world where everyone had magic - went up in smoke. His dreams died with him, as he was executed for a Dark Wizard shortly thereafter, still wearing the amulet Alerie had given him as a last gift. It is said that the amulet was cursed, and that before his death, Ryusaki's jailers tortured him. By the time he died, Ryusaki's resentment of the Confederation had intensified, their betrayal, to say nothing of Alerie's betrayal, burned him to his last cinder. With Ryusaki's death, Alerie moved to seize control of R. He proposed that the group be managed by an elected leader, like the Ruqyahs of old. His influence grew further as he was unanimously voted to become the new "R."
With no means to fulfill his promise to Fawley, Alerie blamed Ryusaki for stealing half of the Dark Scroll. But there could be no hope of brewing the Mind Enhancing Potion again without it, and without the Potion, the Crown was too unstable to use. Therefore, Alerie reluctantly handed it over to Fawley to keep the peace, and it was hidden in a secret Vault at the bottom of the Hogwarts' Black Lake. Guarded by a dark spell that Alerie himself had always favored. The new "R" continued to revolutionize, with Alerie and the others gathering more and more recruits, as well as beginning to infiltrate the rising Ministries in addition to the magical schools. Meanwhile, Hamish Fawley made a groundbreaking discovery. The magic in his soul, that which came from the Curse afflicting him, contained the raw, un-concentrated power of unstable magic, but this magic could be harvested. If Fawley could be born with such a Curse, so could anyone else...including muggles, and this Curse might just endow them with enough magic to no longer be considered muggles. Ryusaki's dream was not dead after all.
Fawley and Alerie clashed for years to come, with Fawley questioning Alerie's leadership at every turn, and how much it differed from Ryusaki's vision. Until Alerie's mask slipped and he showed his true colors. Fawley and Alerie got into a fight and Alerie lost his temper, exposing his inhuman power in front of multiple "R" members. With no other choice, Alerie was forced to flee, to disappear, leaving Hamish Fawley to be elected the new leader of Ruqyah. He burned away the rest of his life trying in vain to solve Ryusaki's equation - to turn a muggle into a wizard. He died without success, however, his bloodline remained in R, and served as Leaders more often than they did not. Eventually, Fawley's descendant - a boy called Jacob, discovered the existence of R.
As for Alerie, he resurfaced many times under many pseudonyms over the years, influencing events. Working to free his father, to influence The Cabal from afar. The Amulet served him well in this endeavor. Eventually, he would reestablish direct contact with Fawley's descendants, and Jacob's Sibling would come to known him personally. But by then, he was using yet another name...
Under the moniker of Elton Elderberry, Ministry Archivist, Henri Jean Alerie continues to influence events.

Dear Someone I use to write them,
Shall I share a secret with you? My mother always tells me that whenever my grandmother felt sad, she would sew a dress for herself, transforming her sorrow into garments! Perhaps I've inherited this from my grandmother, but through writing instead of sewing. Shall I tell you a darker secret? I always wear my grandmother's robe. She sewed this dress but met her demise before she ever wore it; it embodies the grief of her passing! Now, I wear the sorrow of my grandmother's death, a woman I know only through her name, her picture, and the letter she left me.
My grandmother was strikingly beautiful; looking at her was like seeing the moon's glow reflected in her face. My mother tells me she was incredibly warm. She frequently recited Surah Ad-Dukhan and cherished this chapter greatly. She would also read Ruqyah for the sick and those in need. After her passing, my grandfather, God rest his soul, never remarried; he lived for eighteen more years alone, understanding that such a woman was irreplaceable. I often saw in his eyes a sad shimmer that staggered between longing and loss whenever her name was mentioned. When he spoke of her, it was as if he had just fallen in love, with all the wonder and beauty anew. If only we could be like them! Isn't the mere desire enough? To want you, and for you to want me?
I believe more firmly that love in heaven must be more beautiful. I do not presume upon God, but I trust that His mercy will encompass both my grandparents' hearts. I often imagine them together on the same couch, whispering with all the vitality and love of youth.
Is there a way for us to find a love that brings us together on the same couch, or even on two adjacent ones? All love stories these days seem to end in demise, and I fear wearing the sorrow of this story's death as I wear the sorrow of my grandmother’s, as if I am cursed to wander the earth with it.

Ruqyah in the Quran and Sunnah
The term ‘Ruqyah’ is not specifically mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah, but in several verses and Prophetic traditions, there are indications that Quranic verses and other Ruqyah dua that can heal the diseases of mankind and it also offers a sense of peace and tranquility amongst Muslims who practice it. Therefore, to feel a spiritual and physical solace, Muslims should be aware of the pivotal role of Ruqyah verses for the soul and body:
“And say, “Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Falsehood is surely bound to vanish.” And We send down in the Quran that which is a cure and a mercy for the believers.” (Quran 17:81-2)
As Ruqyah is universally known to treat ailments known to mankind, it is also a means for all Muslims to increase their Iman, build their connection with Allah and reaffirm their tawhidic beliefs for Allah the Almighty. By curing illnesses with the aid of Quranic verses, it actually signifies our belief and reliance on the words of Allah the Most Exalted.
The Messenger of Allah, Peace and Blessings be upon him, said: “Make good use of the two cures: honey and the Quran.” (Ibn Majah)
What Should You Do Before Ruqyah?
There are certain etiquette or rules you should follow before you begin the process of Ruqyah healing to maximise the power of the treatment, InshaAllah. Here are the few things you should keep in mind:
Before you begin, perform wudhu and offer two rak’ats and make du’a to Allah Almighty. This is especially important when you perform tahajjud during the darkness of the night. Make sincere dua to Allah and ask for His assistance in healing whatever ailment you are currently enduring.
To perform Ruqyah for healing is to make sincere istighfar and avoid committing sins. Try your best to control your lust and desires, do good to one another, and if you have ever wronged someone or have performed injustice, you should restore their rights.
A powerful Ruqyah also comes from those who give sadaqah. As mentioned by our beloved Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings be upon him, he said “Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah.” (Bayhaqi). Therefore, give charity whenever you can with the intention of asking Allah for His Help.
Before you begin the process of Ruqyah, it is important to omit any animated pictures which are available at home. If you have any live photos, amulets containing indecipherable texts associated with shirk, or even evil eye amulets are to be disposed of immediately. Take the objects away by throwing them into a river, or anywhere far from home so you are protected from evil.
If you can and if it is not too burdensome for you, it is best if you stay in a state of wudhu throughout the day, especially when you sleep.
What Should You Do During Ruqyah?
أَ
Now that you have followed the steps before you perform Ruqyah, now is when the process of Ruqyah Islam takes place. Here are some of the gestures and recitations you should do:
1. When you begin the first step of Ruqyah, recite Salawat or salutations upon our beloved Prophet, Peace and Blessings be upon him as an introduction of the Ruqyah treatment.
2. Secondly, you may begin reciting the Ruqyah verses below as loud and clear as you can with absolute concentration and conviction. Recite this 3 to 7 times.
Dua for Ruqyah (Quranic Verses):
(أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ السَّمِيعِ الْعَلِيمِ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ مِنْ هَمْزِهِ وَنَفْخِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ)
I seek refuge in Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from Satan, the accursed
Allah suffices me, there is no god but He, in Him I trust, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
Surah Al Fatihah:
Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment. You do we worship and You we seek help. Guide us to the straight path. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have gone astray, nor of those who have gone astray.
Ayatul Kursi:
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
[Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255]
Quran 2:284-286:
To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Whether you show what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will bring you to account for it. Then He will forgive whom He wills and punish whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."
Surah Al-Ikhlas:
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Say: 'He is Allah, the One, the called upon. Who has not given birth, and has not been born, and there is none equal to Him. '
Surah Al-Falaq:
“I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak. From the evil of that which He created. And from the evil of darkness when it settles. And from the evil of the blowers in knots.
Surah An-Nas:
I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind,
The King (or Ruler) of Mankind,
The god (or judge) of Mankind,-
From the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his whisper),-
(The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind,-
Among Jinns and among men.
The Ruqyah verses below are applicable for those afflicted with black magic:
And We revealed to Musa, "Throw down your staff," and, behold, it grabbed what they disassembled.
So the truth fell, and what they used to do was nullified.
So they overpowered you there and turned over in small numbers.
So when they met you, Musa said, "You have not brought magic with it. Indeed, Allah will render it invalid. Indeed, Allah does not correct the work of the corrupters." a
And God establishes the truth with His word, even if the criminals hate it.
And cast what is in your right hand, and you will catch up with what they have done. ۖ They have only made a magician's plot. And the magician will not succeed where he came from.
Dua for Ruqyah (Sunnah):
(Ahmad)
(Muwatta’)
(Ahmad)
(Bukhari)
Substitute the أَعُوذُ in (1) to (5) with أُعِيذُكَ when praying over others.
For (6) put your hand on the part of your body where you feel pain and say:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدَ وَ أُحَاذِرُ
(Muslim)
(Hakim)
(Bukhari)
(Abu Dawud)
When praying on others, add the following:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيْكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيْكَ , مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ حَاسِدٍ , اللَّهُ يَشْفِيْكَ , بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيْكَ
(Muslim)
(Bukhari)
(Tarmidhi)
(Bukhari)
3. After you have recited either the Quranic verses or adhkar according to the Sunnah, it is advisable that you recite directly into the palms of your hands and blow into them. Once you’ve blown into your cupped hands, you can rub your hands over the body. Not only that, but you can also recite the Ruqyah verses whilst placing your hands over the part of the body which is inflicted with pain.
4. Besides blowing into your cupped hands, you can also recite the Ruqyah verses and blow it in a glass or jug of water. You may need to keep the mouth close to the water, breathe into it and repeatedly blow over it. The water that you’ve blown into can be used for consumption as well as bathing.
5. If you are planning to recite Ruqyah on others, place your hand on the victim’s forehead or on the part of the body afflicted in pain, recite and blow.
6. If you are on your menses and you are unable to recite, you can also opt for listening to the Ruqyah verses. However, you have to fully concentrate on the recitations and understand the meaning, as well as having a firm belief in the Help of Allah and Him Alone.
What are the Symptoms after Ruqyah?
For those who have not been afflicted with any spiritual or physical harm, you might not manifest any symptoms after performing Ruqyah. It is different for everybody. For those who are afflicted with spiritual ailments such as Ruqyah for evil eye, jinn possession, black magic and the likes, you might be facing several symptoms after your first session. However, it is also common for victims to be asymptomatic altogether.click here https://www.slideshare.net/abd5050/symptoms-that-may-appear-after-the-first-ruqyah-sessions if you would like to learn more about the many symptoms of evil eye and how to avoid such illness. It is important to note that the effects or symptoms after Ruqyah will eventually disappear in a few days or even weeks. Stay patient and keep on performing Ruqyah:
1. You might feel sleepy and possibly suffer from nightmares
One of the symptoms you might face after the performance of Ruqyah is sleepiness and you might be having bad dreams as well. The feeling of drowsiness and heaviness consumes you and it would make you sleep much more easily. However, don’t be scared if you have nightmares. Keep making dhikr and recite Ruqyah consistently until the symptoms disappear.
2. Extreme fatigue and muscle aches
Besides sleepiness, you might be experiencing extreme fatigue from the loss of energy you’ve performed during Ruqya treatment. The Ruqyah effect also causes negative energy to drain off of you, which is always a good thing.
3. Joint and back pain
If you’re familiar with the feeling of soreness in your joints and back when you have fever or feel extremely tired, that symptom might manifest after your first Ruqyah session as well. Don’t give up and keep on performing Ruqyah healing.
4. Problems with the digestive system
You might be feeling discomfort in the area of your digestive system and suffer problems like bloating, gas, gastric pain, heartburn and more. Try to consume some of the Sunnah foods recommended for healing like black seed, honey, barley, dates or even olive oil.
5. Headache or migraine
Having a headache is one of the most common experiences anyone can suffer from. Despite its commonality, it is quite painful to endure without proper treatment. Keep yourself hydrated, recite Ruqyah consistently and be patient if you are suffering from a severe headache.
6. Your symptoms of pain may become worse
If you have faced some painful symptoms before you perform Ruqyah, the pain could be much worse after your first session. Get to know your symptoms early, if you’re afflicted with black magic, jinn possession or even the https://simplyislam.academy/blog/symptoms-to-determine-if-you-are-afflicted-with-the-evil-eye. Know your symptoms now before it gets worse.
7. Tightness and pain in the chest
Don’t panic when you feel tightness in the chest or if you have difficulty breathing. Keep performing Ruqyah consistently and rely on Him Alone whenever you feel this. Breathe in deeply and get some fresh air if you want to. Keep yourself in a state of calmness to avoid hyperventilation.
8. Irregular or faster heart palpitations
With the tightness of your chest, you may be experiencing irregular heartbeats, which can be very concerning if you aren’t used to it. Recite adhkar and never stop performing Ruqyah if you face this and if you feel incredibly uncomfortable by it.
9. Vomiting
If you are feeling nauseous and you vomit after the performance of Ruqyah, don’t worry. It is in fact a very good sign that evil is being put away. After you have vomited, you may find yourself feeling much lighter and better, InshaAllah.
10. Diarrhea
Similar to vomiting, if you feel the urge to pass stool and it seems to be a major one, it is also one of the good signs that the Ruqyah treatment is working. Remember to stay hydrated.
Conclusion:
Performing Ruqyah altogether isn’t as easy as it sounds, but coupled with a sincere intention, strong conviction and the right methods, inshaAllah, anyone can perform Ruqyah and protect themselves from whatever evil that is lingering out there in the open world. As Muslims, we should always be careful with the 1001 temptations and evil that gets in our way, and Ruqyah is the proper method to do away with all the spiritual and physical ailments, InshaAllah. If you have any experiences of performing Ruqyah, share with us your experience below and let us know how you feel. May Allah protect us all from the vicious evil that lurks in the day and night, InshaAllah.

Understanding Demonic Influence:
In many religious traditions, demons are believed to be supernatural entities that embody evil and malevolence. They are thought to exploit vulnerabilities in individuals, causing physical, emotional, and spiritual distress. Demonic influence is often associated with negative behaviors, addictions, and mental health issues. Recognizing these signs is the first step towards seeking deliverance.
Christian Perspective:
In Christianity, deliverance from demons is often linked to the power of prayer, faith, and the authority of Jesus Christ. The Bible recounts numerous instances of Jesus casting out demons, emphasizing the importance of spiritual warfare. Christian deliverance ministries focus on prayer, fasting, and the laying on of hands to expel demonic influences. The belief in the redemptive power of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit plays a central role in these practices.
Islamic Perspective:
In Islam, the Quran provides guidance on protecting oneself from demonic influences. Seeking refuge in Allah, reciting specific verses, and adhering to the five pillars of Islam are considered effective ways to guard against malevolent forces. Islamic exorcism, known as "Ruqyah," involves the recitation of Quranic verses and prayers to seek protection and deliverance from demons.
Hindu Perspective:
Hinduism, with its rich tapestry of gods and goddesses, addresses demonic influences through various rituals and practices. Mantras, meditation, and the worship of specific deities are believed to offer protection and liberation from negative energies. The concept of karma and reincarnation also plays a role, suggesting that one's actions in past lives may influence their current struggles with demonic forces.
Common Practices:
While religious traditions vary, some common practices are found across cultures when seeking deliverance from demons:
Prayer and Meditation: Engaging in focused prayer or meditation helps individuals connect with their spiritual beliefs, seeking divine intervention and protection.
Rituals and Ceremonies: Many cultures have specific rituals or ceremonies aimed at purifying the individual and their surroundings, creating a protective barrier against demonic forces.
Community Support: Seeking help from a religious leader, healer, or community can provide a sense of solidarity and shared spiritual strength during the process of deliverance.
Self-reflection: Understanding one's vulnerabilities and addressing underlying issues, such as trauma or unhealed wounds, is crucial in overcoming demonic influence.
Conclusion:
Deliverance from demons is a universal theme that transcends religious and cultural boundaries. Whether through prayer, rituals, or self-reflection, individuals seek liberation from malevolent forces that hinder their well-being. The power of faith, community support, and a deep connection with the divine are recurring themes that underscore the human quest for spiritual freedom. Ultimately, the journey towards deliverance is a personal and profound exploration of the intersection between the material and the metaphysical realms.

[Al-Bukhaari]
Medical treatment and reliance on Allah
[Quran, 26:80]
It is part of your belief to know and live by the fact Allah is the only One who can heal every disease of your body, mind and heart, by whichever means He deems suitable. So trust in Him first and foremost, and then make use of the lawful treatments He made available for you through medical and other sciences. However, never attribute healing to medicines or other means and always to Ash-Shaafee only. Don’t forget to say saybismillah when you take any medicine
[Al-Bukhaari, Muslim]
[At-Tirmidhee, saheeh]
The beauty in Islam is that we should not only visit the sick we know, but also those we don’t know, as we are doing it for the sake of Allah and His reward. Form a group in your community of those who visit the sick, and teach children the reward. Revive the sunnah by saying these supplications:
La ba’s, tuhoor in sha Allaah(No worry, it is a purification, if Allah wills). [Al-Bukhaaree]
2. Ask for the person to be healed three times: The Prophet visited Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqaas and said: ‘O Allah, heal Sa’d,’ three times. [Al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]
3. Place your right hand on the sick person and say, as the Prophet did:
أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمَاً
Adhhib al-ba’s Rabb an-naas, wa’shfi anta ash-Shaafi, laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadir saqaman (Take away the pain, O Lord of mankind, and grant healing, for You are the Healer, and there is no healing but Your healing that leaves no trace of sickness). [Muslim]

Love is a powerful emotion that can bring great joy and happiness into our lives. However, it can also be a source of great pain and heartbreak when a relationship ends. If you are struggling to get over a lost love, you may be wondering if there is anything you can do to get them back.
In Islamic astrology, there are a number of practices that can be used to help you get your love back. These practices are based on the belief that the stars and planets can influence our lives, including our relationships.
One of the most common practices used in Islamic astrology to get your love back is dua. Dua is a form of prayer that is used to ask Allah for help. There are a number of different duas that can be used for this purpose, and you can find them in books on Islamic astrology or online.
Another practice that can be used to get your love back is ruqyah. Ruqyah is a form of Islamic healing that uses verses from the Quran to remove negative energy from the body. It can also be used to break spells and curses that may be preventing you from getting your love back.
In addition to dua and ruqyah, there are a number of other practices that can be used to get your love back in Islamic astrology. These include:
Wearing talismans or amulets: Talismans and amulets can be used to attract the person you love back into your life. They can be made from a variety of materials, including gemstones, metals, and paper.
Performing rituals: There are a number of rituals that can be performed to get your love back. These rituals often involve using specific prayers, mantras, or actions.
Consulting an astrologer: An astrologer can help you to determine the best time and method to use to get your love back. They can also help you to understand the astrological factors that may be affecting your relationship.
It is important to note that there is no guarantee that any of these practices will work. However, if you are truly committed to getting your love back, they may be worth trying.
Here are some tips for getting your love back in Islamic astrology:
Be patient and persistent. It may take some time for these practices to work.
Believe in yourself and your ability to get your love back.
Have a positive attitude. A positive attitude will help you to attract the person you love back into your life.
Pray to Allah for help. Dua is a powerful tool that can help you to get your love back.
If you are struggling to get your love back, you may want to consider consulting an astrologer. An astrologer can help you to understand the astrological factors that may be affecting your relationship and can recommend the best practices to use to get your love back.

Carolyn* can never get out of her head the memory of her parents bringing her to conversion therapy. The transwoman from South Sulawesi was 13 then, and society expected her to identify as male in accordance with her biological sex at birth.
“Deep inside, I kept telling myself that I’m not sick, that I’m okay,” she recalled.
Carolyn experienced ruqyah firsthand, a form of conversion therapy imbued with Islamic exorcism that is common among Muslim communities in Indonesia. Carolyn’s parents explained away her feminine expression as the work of a malevolent female demon.
At the time, the teenager did not fully grasp the situation she was in. She agreed to go along with her parents’ wishes due to her deeply embedded fear of sin.
Carolyn was taken before the local cleric, who prayed to expel the female demon in her body. The cleric also asked her parents to leave her with him for a few days so she could undergo several rituals.
“But at that time, I refused. I wanted to go home and didn’t want to be there. I was fine, I cried and said to my mom, ‘Mom, I want to go home, I’m fine,’” she said.
After begging her mother, Carolyn’s mother finally agreed to send her home on one condition: she had to stop expressing feminine traits and stop hanging out with her female friends. Carolyn repressed her feminine expression for several years after that day.
“To be honest, I felt very tortured. I felt very tortured mentally,” Carolyn confessed.
Carolyn said she placed a lot of pressure on herself over the years. She never felt that she was a man. She was always more comfortable expressing herself as a woman. In the final year of high school, Carolyn decided to stop lying to herself and her family. She ran away from home and learned to become a hairdresser at a salon that accepted her gender expression.
In the early days of Carolyn’s emancipation journey, her past and concerns over her identity continued to haunt her. Not a day went by that she didn’t fear persecution, socializing with others, fully expressing herself, all the while saddened by the irreparable burned bridge with her family.
Even now, at the age of 32, Carolyn is still traumatized by her conversion therapy experience. She gets easily triggered by watching religious TV shows or films that feature ruqyah scenes.
But ultimately she believes that she made the right choice, because nothing can take away her freedom to fully express herself as a woman and her achievement of becoming a fully functioning adult in a society that generally does not tolerate her people.
“I also feel comfortable and feel very relieved that in the end, I can accept myself as a transwoman. I feel like I have found myself. This is me, I am a transwoman,” she stresses.
In contrast to Carolyn, Sofia*, a lesbian living in the capital, was encouraged by her family to undergo ruqyah when she was old enough. By that time, she was mature enough to make her own decisions; and so she ran away from them.
“At that time, I was 25 years old and I was studying for my master’s degree. My position was quite privileged, right?” Sofia said.
Living in Jakarta, Sofia was more exposed to open discussions on the issues of gender and sexuality. When her mother asked her to go to therapy, Sofia was already certain about her sexual orientation. Furthermore, she had been involved in the advocacy for gender and sexuality issues.
“So I think there was nothing to lose at that time, and my identity is the core of my life,” she said.
However, Sofia’s refusal for therapy did not sit well with her family. She said they still pressured her “recover” to the point that they used violence against her.
“But I didn’t want to. I insisted because they already know me as a lesbian, so why do I have to back off?” she said.
Sofia believes that her knowledge of diversity in gender expression and sexual orientation was one of the biggest sources of courage that emboldened her to emancipate. If LGBTQ+ people are exposed to the same knowledge, Sofia said, they will be able to accept their identities and acknowledge that they’re not the problem — homophobia and conversion therapy are.
“We must fight together to convince the world that being gay is okay. You need to learn about yourself. You’re not sick. It’s society that’s sick,” she added.
Ika*, a transwoman from North Sumatra, experienced conversion therapy when she was 13, 17, and 18. The methods that she went through were quite diverse, ranging from ruqyah, to burial rituals, admission to Islamic boarding schools, and goat sacrifice.
None of them worked. And she said she had to live with the constant pressure from her parents to get rid of her feminine expression, which, according to them, was also the work of a demon.
“What should be removed from my body? Because according to their assessment, there is an evil spirit who made me like this,” Ika said.
“In my opinion, conversion therapy is bullshit.”
Ika now works for an NGO advocating to end HIV discrimination and stigma suffered by trans communities.
‘Individual will’
Conversion therapy is not a new phenomenon in Indonesia, but the matter was hotly discussed recently when several Indonesian queer activists, including Lini Zurlia and Kai Mata, received targeted ads on social media encouraging them to undergo conversion therapy.
“It feels like I was targeted by a group of people. It made me upset, especially because this is very sensitive regarding LGBTQ+ rights in Indonesia,” Kai Mata said.
“What I think the government should do is to make it illegal. I also think that LGBT people in Indonesia deserve the right to live in this country without fear.”
Attempts to contact the conversion therapy service through the ad failed as of the time of this article’s publication. Another conversion therapy center in Jakarta, which claims to use hypnotherapy as one of its “healing” methods, did not come across like it has a vendetta against LGBTQ+ people despite providing the harmful service.
“When does sexual orientation become a problem? It happens when the values that are taught [by people’s environment and family] are different from their sexual orientation,” therapist Adrianto Darma Setiawan said.
Adrianto claims to have treated around 2,500 patients in the last 12 years. About 20 percent of these patients are (or were, if he succeeded) gay, lesbian, or bisexual. The standard therapy to “heal” sexual orientation consists of about about five to six hypnotherapy sessions lasting around three hours per session.
Adrianto said that some of his patients underwent therapy out of their own accord, but most were there due to encouragement or pressure from relatives. The therapist did not say how many of his patients he managed to convert, but said that “recovery” depends on the will of the individual.
The government’s failure
Imam Nahei, a commissioner at the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan), said that LGBTQ + groups in Indonesia still have a long way to receive adequate protections from the government. For as long as homophobia prevails in Indonesia, conversion therapy will remain as one of the most harmful and real threats that haunts people from minority sexual groups in Indonesia.
Nahei said that conversion therapy is an obvious human rights violation, yet the state, which should be responsible for protecting all of the country’s citizens, has not done anything to protect LGBTQ+ people from the practice.
“The state has not done anything because, in Indonesia, this issue is still very controversial as it is associated with dominant religious views,” Nahei said.
There’s little hope for progress in this regard when homosexuality and alternate forms of sexual expression are still seen as a deviation or a disorder by the country’s lawmakers, such as House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VIII Deputy Chairman Marwan Dasopang.
Marwan supports the existence of conversion therapy in Indonesia. Not only that, he wants DPR to eventually pass legislation allowing the state to provide the service to the public. If conversion therapy was normalized, he argued, patients would not experience extreme psychological trauma, such as from being forced to “recover” by their parents.
“It needs to be regulated,” Marwan said, adding that discussion on the regulation of conversion therapy are still in their infancy.
Indonesian policy makers, and even psychiatrists, have long gone against the scientific fact that homosexuality and other sexual identities are not a disease or disorder. Their stance have emboldened homophobia, which, in turn, has fostered the continued existence of conversion therapy.
Riska Carolina, director of Advocacy and Public Policy from the Support Group and Resource Center on Sexuality Studies at the University of Indonesia (SGRC UI), said among the many forms of conversion therapy in Indonesia, most are performed with ruqyah. Others who aren’t forced to go the conversion therapy route are still made to see shrinks who practice with heavy religious influence, hypnotherapists, or admitted to religious boarding schools.
“[Conversion therapy] is a threat to the LGBTQ+ community. It is persecution to the LGBTQ+ community. It violates their basic human rights. LGBTQ+ people are not a disease,” she stresses.
Riska believes that regulating conversion therapy would violate the minority groups’ rights even more than they have suffered. Even if the therapy is carried out based on patients’ willingness, Riska argued that it still validates the idea that LGBTQ+ people have mental disorders.
“Conversion therapy must be banned. It is more necessary to provide protection, even though I know that protection is still a long way off. So I prefer that, at least, [the government] treats us equally and gives us affirmative action,” she said.
“I’m ashamed to know that Indonesia is very late in terms of acceptance and it’s already 2021. You don’t need to like LGBT people, but you also don’t need to discriminate against us, especially to the level of torture. What you do with conversion therapy is torturous.”
*Carolyn, Sofia, and Ika’s real names have been omitted, at their request, to protect their identity.

Salaam sister, I have been in and out of many mental health practices - doctors, hospitals, psychologists. So, I recently was diagnosed with a disorder and my husband doesn’t know about this. I haven’t really mentioned how bad my mental health has suffered over the years.
Anyway, I decided to try to mention it to him but, considering I’m quite sensitive. His reaction was one of I want to know because of my curiosity rather than caring? I could also be looking into things too much which is a symptom of this disorder. I never really brought it up again or explained it all.
The biggest issue I have is that this disorder makes it difficult to be a mother. Many children who have grown up with mothers with this disorder have ended up with other disorders. There is also a genetic aspect to it so, I’m just struggling on what to do. My father played a big role in the deterioration of my mental health and I’m worried that I’ll carry this on.
Wa Alaikum assalamu wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuhu :)
Bismillahi arrahmani arrahim, it pains me to sense the confusion, the disorientation, the concern, the worry, and the saddness in your words my beautiful sister. When it comes to mental health, one suffering sister is as if all of us are suffering, sübhanallah. So first of All, I pray that Allah swt would have mercy on you, soothe your heart and calm your worries, amen.
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say, "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by (other) men." (See Hadith No. 374)
Now, I want you to follow my trail of thoughts, one step at a time:
First and foremost, the fact that you have already sought professional help is a brave thing! At least now I don't have to convince you to see a therapist, I just have to convince to change your therapist and try a new one 😅🙈
But seriously, I don't think anyone (human) but a specialist can give you much help on this matter, my dear. Actually, the real help comes from Allah swt and the Ultimate refuge and shelter is Allah swt, Al-Hadi the guider, Al-Jabbar the mender, Al- Rahman, Al-Raheem.. and Allah's help in your situation os thought through making extensive duaa, sticking to prayer, making sure you pray on time, reading your comfort surahs that are full with positive lessons and stories with happy endings, and that narrate how Allah swt comes to the rescue and the help of his righteous believers like surat Yusuf (12), surat Al Kahf (18), surat Maryam (19), surat Ta Ha (20) , etc. Also, like I said before praying Tahajjud works miracles, and if you can, self ruqyah will in shaa Allah put your heart at ease.
Now though, I want to talk about your husband's reaction that actually triggered or frustrated you. I have experienced a very similar situation that had me running to my therapist complaining that this very important person in my life keeps " disregarding " my feelings and showing very little concern to my mental health. You know what she said? She said " maybe the reason why they don't want to dig deep into it is because they can't handle it. Maybe they hurt just by seeing you hurt and they know that they can't do much about it at this point so it pains them. Maybe their own mental health state can't allow them to take in yours as well. " So how about that, huh? Before pointing fingers at your husband (like I tend to do to people around me), don't you want to give them the benefit of the doubt and consider other explanations..? Think about it.
I live with anxiety and OCD, and I know that on the scale of mental disorders, mine are not being recognized high in the scale of seriousness or harm, after all, I am living with them, they never had me hospitalized (so far, Alhamdulillah) - and I do have PTSD but I don't talk about it. Don't get me wrong I am not showing off AstaghfiruAllah, this is not competition, I am just opening up to you and showing you that it is okay to name it, what you have, it is okay to admit it, to own it, to make peace with it, God knows acceptance makes your life much easier. Anyways, what I am trying to say is, my OCD comes from my father and my paternal aunt, so I hear you when you worry about your kids, genetically speaking. However, generalizing and assuming that your disorder will lead to damaging your children's mental health and have them raised 'unstable' is not valid my dear. We can't assume that because a) we are not therapists and neuroscientists, and b) anything can affect the child's personality, so don't put the guilt on your shoulders. Guilt is like a fire burning inside of us, and it only ruins us. Nothing good ever comes out of it. I say, instead of exhausting yourself with these feelings of guilt and fear, maybe open up about them to a professional and try to come up with a plan that helps you care for your children (with your partner) as healthily as possible. You see, your partner's support is a must. But maybe you should give him time to digest the information? Maybe he needs to be spoken to one more time? When he is in a good mood, free, no distractions, and you have all his attention.. maybe you should just ask him to come with you to a therapist meeting? I really really think you shouldn't give up, you shouldn't let it scare you or hold you back, if you really love this guy and he really loves you too, then he will care (I am sure he really does my dear, I am sure he does, but men and women don't use the same love/ communication language). You need to be as clear and open as possible with him. Some men don't get us, they need us to actually put it out for them like : I feel that when you reacted this way and said this and that, it felt like you didn't really care and that actually upset me. Chances are? He never meant it like that nor did he realize that you understood it that way. Wallahi. You need to be flexible and ready to listen to him as well, with no previous judgment or assumptions whatsoever. Umm, I think I lost my trail of thoughts but kheir in shaa Allah. Try again with him, you've got nothing to lose and so much to win. In shaa Allah he will cooperate. But anyways, family support is very very important for people with mental disorders. And it would be really amazing if you could find some comfort in groups with people with the same disorder. A support system is a must. I really hope you can find the kind of people to help you and your family process this.
May Allah swt grant you shifae, ease your affairs and reward you for your patience. Ameen.
Stay safe, and let go of the guilt my dear.
- A.Z. 🍃
